My membership card allows me to bring one guest that is my right.My friend also registered at the front desk. But the male employee at the front desk said we couldn't train inside, we could only watch. If you train inside, I need to pay a fee per training session. The reason just I am not tell him in advance that we want to train inside. I often train with friends, and this is the first time something like this has happened; it's really confusing. I forgot to ask the male employee's name, otherwise I would definitely have filed a complaint against him. He was a male employee with black and white hair and wore glasses. It happened around 1 pm on November 26th.

Today on 11/26/25 @ 8:40 P.M, I went inside the gym to workout and simply requested to change my card on file for my payment. I scan in with my QR code to check in and stepped to the side to let other members check in behind us (total of 5 guys) and they were ok to wait for me to do so. I was still to the side and being courteous to let them check in so I can just change my card on file without keeping them waiting. The representative girl (thin framed body, glasses, straight black hair and long black nails, around 20 something in age) asked if I can wait till the end of my workout to change my card on file. I’m sorry what? I had something to do after my workout and needed to leave right away. Guess it’s whenever she wants to I guess? and because there were other people waiting ( the 5 guys). Also, before I even checked-in, she was just gossiping with this girl to the side wearing pink and clearly did not want to assist with helping me change my card on file. She was bothered that I interrupted her gossip time rather than attending to a gym member. She cared more about checking in other guests and did not want to provide customer service to me. She then rudely asks for the card that I want to change to and tells me that I have a pending charge already and it is going to charge my other card. I was trying to tell her that I lost my card and that is why I was trying to change my card to make my payment. She rudely cuts me off and says “I know, I just told you that… repeated the same thing to me. As if I were a child being cut off while trying to talk and is dismissive of my sayings. I came in with a positive attitude trying to work out and happy due to the holidays and she soured my whole mood really.I did not even want to work out after being angered by her attitude and left as she continued to gossip with the other girl in pink still and made sure she knew her customer service was not good. I have been a member for 7 years and have not encountered such horrible customer service until today. Reconsidering if I even want to be a member any more really. If you don’t like working in customer service, then look for another job, LA Fitness do better in hiring better customer service representatives.

I came to the front desk to inquire about the procedure that takes place if one is using their senior insurance. The representative was curt & answered me like I was a bother. Of course there were customers entering & she seemed more inclined & attentive to scan them in, while I was infront of her. First impressions are key to good business & everyone should be treated with professional ,welcoming & attentive mannerisms. I think this experience says if I will be a member or not.

Awful management, someone was playing soccer in the racquetball court and made huge noise when the soccer ball hit the side wall. I questioned that situation to the front desk and the white beared man in the front desk just refused to take action and said there is no rule that someone cannot play soccer in the racquetball court. What a joke! My suggestions are retrained this dude if he cannot be a qualified employees, just fire him.

Someone was playing soccer in the squash court and making a lot of noise, which seriously affected our game in the next court. When we reported this to the staff, they didn’t do anything. Instead, they said that playing soccer in the squash court is allowed and even told us that if we felt it was too loud, we should go talk to the person playing soccer ourselves. Is that reasonable? Shouldn’t it be the staff’s responsibility to handle this?

I had a terrible experience at this LA Fitness (13822 Garvey Ave, Baldwin Park).
I came in to cancel my membership. The front desk made me wait 20 minutes with no help. Finally, an older man with a white beard came to speak with me. He told me that cancellations cannot be done on weekends—even though my payment was due Monday. Then he accused me of lying about my reason for canceling (moving to Glendora), said my explanation was “not real,” and even told me that LA Fitness does not need members like me.
After insulting me, he processed the cancellation anyway, completely contradicting what he said earlier. When I asked for his name, he refused and told me that “complaints are useless.”
This was extremely disrespectful, dishonest, and unprofessional. I will never return to this location, and I will be warning my friends to cancel their memberships too.

Really like this gym.
Pros- great equipment and atmosphere
Cons- loose weights and curlbars smell bad and needs cleaning, including benchpress bars (ran a gym sanitizing wipe over them and wipe turned very yellow, smh). Also, sanitizing wipes are very moist but no paper towels available to dry it off, leaving the station wet.

I’ve been members for years and subscribed to training sessions. I can’t login to my online account and call in for help. The reception lady was horrible in attitude by hanging up my call while I was still talking. She refused to help and ask me to walk in to solve the website login problem. This is not acceptable!

Worst service I’ve ever experienced. When I signed up, they said I could bring a friend, but later told me I couldn’t—while at the same time telling new customers the opposite right in front of me. I walked out and never went back. The front desk was rude and unprofessional, refused to let me speak with a manager, and even said complaints wouldn’t matter. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this place.

Me and my wife where there to totally to sign up. But then we started to see how the reviews where. And how they where being treated buy some manager and so we said to each other we did not want our referrals to be treated that way so we left. We went straight to Golds Gym and signed up there.

The staff who cleans the facility works tirelessly. I’ve been in the morning, I’ve been on my lunch hour, and I’ve been after work and during each of those times they are vacuuming and servicing the locker rooms. The entitled population of gym goers need to do their part and clean up after themselves and re-rack their weights. HUGE thank you to the cleaning staff. It’s hard to keep up with the way the gym goers disrespect the facility, but they do a great job.

Older man with a beard just gave us the worst experience as a customer that I've ever gotten. We came in with the 7 day pass with a friend. After waiting for more than half an hour with 3 other groups in the same situation as we did. The same man starts yelling at the front staff in front of all the incoming people. Literally yelling at them. He then proceeds to tell me and the other 3 groups waiting that we could not enter because the 7 day pass is only for people that are ready to buy a subscription. He then starts giving us attitude. I told him that this is not the right way to treat customers. To what his answer was you are not even going to buy anything, leave. We walk out and I told him that he should mind his attitude to what he said I don't care you're not even a customer. Do not come this gym if you're looking to join. Take a second to read the reviews it seems to be a consistent issue. Corporate this man is costing you money, and mistreating your employees.

Today I went to this gym, and my friend gave me a free opportunity for 7 days. When I got here, no one helped me. A manager came and asked us some questions. Because of my poor English, he was very impatient. He told me directly that I couldn't enter, and then asked me to leave. He didn't listen to my explanation at all. He didn't listen to me. I felt that he was very disrespectful to me, and even discriminated against me. After leaving, I went to la fitness in west Covina. The staff was very patient to help me, saying that this can be entered in any La fitness. In addition, this manager is a man.

A sales representative at at Baldwin park L.A. Fitness gym was extremely unprofessional. I asked him his name five times ,he said he didn't want to tell me. because I didn’t give him my phone number he cannot look up my account so he’s not gonna be give me his name 😂😂😂。Your staff assumed my father was Chinese and didn’t speak English. Because he had been to a gym in another city, they didn’t want to let him in. Hearing this, I was extremely angry and said this was racial discrimination, I want to call the police. I asked my family to come over to help translate for my father. In the end, the salesperson, not wanting to escalate the situation, allowed my father to enter. However, I still want to say that after reviewing this gym, all the locations seem poorly managed, and the sales staff’s professionalism is extremely low. They appear very unfriendly toward Asians and Chinese people, especially those who don’t speak English. I hope the gym’s owner and management can strengthen employee training. Otherwise, you could face legal consequences for such serious racial discrimination

There’s a common theme among all the LA Fitness I’ve visited: either other gym goers are illiterate or management is because the dumbbells are never organized in the correct manner. It’s so unbelievably annoying to try and find the weight you need because nothing is ever organized. Never. This isn’t something that’s unique to this location. The place is nice, it’s clean, staff is nice, but it’s like there’s an allergy with putting weights in the right spot. You pay a lot for this gym, you really want to deal with that?

Staff is nice and the place is clean sometimes but some people there are really gross and leave their wipes on the machines instead of throwing them to the trash. They also do run out of wipes to clean the machines so I do suggest that you bring your own. Unfortunately, there is no sauna there and I was sad when I found out but it is what it is. Overall I like this gym. I have not tried out their pool, jacuzzi or showers.

I am extremely disappointed by the unprofessional and disrespectful experience I had at this gym. I received a 7-day free pass from my friend and even had email confirmation. However, when I arrived, a staff member denied the 7-day pass, insisting that I was only allowed 3 days.
What’s worse and completely unacceptable is that the staff member began to interrogate me, asking inappropriate personal questions such as:
• “Where are you from?”
• “Where do you live?”
• “Why doesn’t your phone number start with 626?”
He was extremely pushy, aggressive, and made me feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable. I came here to work out, not to be judged based on my background.
This kind of behavior is discriminatory and unprofessional, and I sincerely hope the management takes this issue seriously.

My fiancé and I went in because we are planning to join a gym since we don’t have a gym membership. My fiance has issues with his feet, so when we saw that they had a pool, we were already interested in joining. I have never walked inside, searched, or known anything about LA FITNESS. It was our first ever time going in one. When we walked in we simply asked for their membership pricing, but instead they gave us a clipboard and immediately had us inside their office area. We told Alba, lady who helped us AND was the NICEST, that we were interested in joining and may consider the gym. SHE offered us a 3 day free pass to check out the gym if we liked it. Obviously, we took it and came back the next day after her approval to try it.
We came in excited, but I think the employees were having the worst day ever. First, the girl in the lobby didn’t bother acknowledging us and rudely told us to move over for their members. We explained to her the situation and she acted confused. While we were explaining to the other girl about the situation, the guy who greeted us the first day which I am assuming is the manager was yelling at one of his gym members aggressively. I recall him saying “give me your information so I can get you off our system then!” That already gave us bad vibes because clearly they don’t care about their members. After waiting in the lobby for 15 min items and exposing the situation 3-4 times, the girl took us to the desk area and LITERALLY SAID… “yeah some people if they don’t get something free they won’t join.” And “are these prices something you’re comfortable with?”
I was embarrassed and shocked on how she assumed I just wanted to freeload. Who do these people think they are!?! Horrible horrible staff!!!!! Of course we were interested!?? Why else would we come back??? Their personalities and behavior are the reason I would never consider LA FITNESS.

I had an extremely unprofessional and frustrating experience when trying to use their advertised three-day free pass. Instead of allowing me to experience the gym as promised, the manager immediately pressured me to sign up for a membership. After persistent sales pitches, he reluctantly allowed me to try the gym for one visit—but only under the condition that he hold onto my driver’s license the entire time to ensure I returned for more sales pressure.
This so-called “three-day free pass” is nothing more than a bait-and-switch tactic. It exists on their website but not in reality. I can’t believe a business thinks it’s acceptable to confiscate someone’s personal ID just to push a sale. Where are the rules and regulations to prevent this kind of deceptive marketing?
If you’re considering this gym, save yourself the time and frustration. This is not a welcoming or trustworthy place.

I had a really disappointing experiencs at the LA Fitness West Covina around 7 p.m today. The front desk staff ( The reddish pink hair girl) acused me and my friend of entering the gym without proper check in, even though we follow all the procedures. Instead of calmly satisfying the situation, she gave us an attitude and made us feel like we're trying to sneak in. She even confronted us if we were trying to sneak in because we don't have the money. It was extremely disrespectful and embarrassing. We've been members of the fitness for quite a long time and never had an issue with anyone. This is nevetheless unacceptable and management need to train their staff on how to handle the situation professionally and treat the customers with respect. Me and my friends are definitely not coming back if this is how they treat their loyal customers. We're extremely disappointed today.

If I could give this place a zero star rating I would. For months I have been trying to cancel my La Fitness account and it wouldn’t let me. I finally come in and they say they can’t cancel it because I owe them money even though I haven’t been here since November which I paid. I now have a membership at planet fitness which is a lot cheaper and I personally like it. Plus I have read reviews of this place when I just joined and there were ALOT going through the same as me. I also got my wallet stolen when they let a homeless woman into the bathrooms

Ok it's been more than a year now, shower head broken, still unfixed, since last year. AC is not working for a year. Even the temp fan cannot rotate anymore. Lol. The problem started from the attitudes of managers at this gym. In the summer the heat was so bad in the group exercise room that I went to ask if ok to open the emergency door or bring in a fan: SOME PEOPLE MIGHT FAINT WITH HEAT STROKE AND IT WILL BE GYM'S NEGLIGENCE! Guess what, the manager Alba playing with her personal phone did nothing or even bother to go check out the situation while calling me rude. Yes it was dangerous to work out with high heat so I have a sense of urgency while she doesn't care! Do not sign up membership here. This location doesn't have sauna, steam room and pool water is cold while LA Fitness in West Covina has everything, well maintained and way more courteous staff!!!

I got an amazing experience at this LA Fitness, and I want to express my deepest gratitude to the amazing team, especially Patty, Adrien, and Marshell. During a workout, I experienced hypoglycemia and fainted from overexertion. Everyone present immediately came to check on me and offered assistance. Adrien, in particular, acted quickly and professionally, helping me regain clarity and return to a normal state within just three minutes.
This gym is not only clean and well-maintained, but it also has an outstanding staff that truly cares about its members. I am incredibly thankful for their professionalism and support. Protect Baldwin LA fitness team at all cost!

Ladies if you are harassed by the older man on the cleaning staff here please feel empowered to tell the manager Alex. I was on the stair master and this man while mopping had the audacity to stare at my crotch area several times before I had to yell at him to stop. Unprofessional and Inconsistent Policies at baldwin park LA Fitness
I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience at the baldwin park LA Fitness. As a paying member, I am allowed to bring guests, but when my friend arrived a few minutes late, she was denied access by the manager because we didn’t enter the gym together. This was shocking because I’ve brought in guests who arrived late before without any issues.
The manager then tried to charge my friend $20 for a day pass, which we refused to pay because she should have been allowed in as my guest. After being denied, we left and got a three-day free guest pass online. When we returned, the same manager refused to let her in again, claiming that the guest pass wasn’t valid yet and that we needed to make an appointment. This directly contradicted the instructions on the pass, which simply said to bring it to the club.
What’s even more frustrating is the manager’s condescending and rude attitude throughout the entire interaction. It felt like we were being unfairly singled out, and we left the gym feeling completely disrespected and mistreated.
If this is how LA Fitness treats its members, I will seriously reconsider my membership. I hope corporate addresses these issues and ensures that their staff follow consistent policies and treat customers with respect.

I said i wanted to compare with other gyms but he sounded like there is no such one to compare and told me "how much do you want to pay?" Some kinda attitude!

This review is dedicated to the lady that doesn’t know LA Fitness’ own policies and pretended like she knew what she was talking about.
I had a guest pass for my friend and myself. I showed up to the reception area and notified a person I was using a guest pass for my friend and myself. That person called over another person who insisted my guest pass was only for me. Then started to list restrictions completely made up. She asked me to show where it says I can bring a guest. Then told me because I was a member over 10 years ago i couldn’t get a guest pass. Long story short avoid this location. And for you problematic lady: i did your job and looked for the information you should of. See attached.
I ended up going to another LA Fitness location: 3101 E Garvey Ave N West Covina, CA
Walked in, spoke to a lady at the desk and told her i had a guest pass. A guy came over and guided us to his desk. A few questions and he let us get our workout in! Eric you are the best!

The Pool here at Baldwin Park is unsanitary. My feet itches every time I use it. Often the pool is also way too warm. But the staff here don't seem to care at all.

I like the showers but the restroom never ever has paper to dry hands and there is no sauna or steam room. Also there isn't enough cable row machines. There is only one and it is always occupied. Also no exercise blow up balls and little to no attachments for the cable machines.

The gym was nice and clean during my tour today however the Fitness Sales guy MARCELO G. treated me like trash. Probably one of the most unprofessional, disrespectful, and ill-mannered individuals I encountered in the fitness industry.
I travel for work as a Nurse and I would usually enroll in La fitness for 3 – 6 months depending on the hospitals proximity. This time its baldwin park so I printed a guest pass for the day to try it out. I came today and the young African male trainer was very nice (forgot his name) and tour me at the gym. After the tour he called MARCELO G. – he is in charge in sales and let me tell you this guys is super aggressive and have no manners at all. I was telling him that I wanted to try out today before I signed up because although the gym was nice it doesn’t have a Sauna compared to other locations and I also have planet fitness black membership and wanted to see if La fitness isworth it. This is how the following conversation ensued.
Me: Hi, my name is Marc and I wanted to try this location for today I have a Guest pass.
Marcelo G: What is there to try ? You’ve been to La fitness before. Plus if you sign up today youre already getting the best deal youll ever get.
Me: Oh I’m new to the area and I wanted to get the feel of working out here that’s why I got a guest pass for the day and enroll if I like it.
Marcelo G: Oh you cant use that guest pass because you’ve already been a member to other la fitness last year in a different location.
Me: So I cant try it for today and this guest pass is invalid ?
Marcelo G: What is there to try ? You’ve been to other La fitness before its all the same. You want to try the Sauna ? You want to try the Pool ? Its all the same. Its wet. It’s the same feeling.
Me: Yes I still want to try it to get the feeling if its right for me you know since I have other gym membership too because I have Planet Fitness black card.
Marcelo G: Then Go work out at Planet Fitness then !!. All promotions ends today. I was in a meeting today. (Basically just wanted me to sign up immediately )
I was so shocked and dumbfounded how this guy behaved and use aggression for sales its unbelievable. I then asked his name so I can get a reference and then he said “ OH I don’t give up my name “ Even the other trainer that toured me was probably shocked how Marcelo was behaving. I just walked away and probably would never set foot in La fitness
but I told him in a direct way. “Why can’t you be nice to people? The other trainer that toured me treated me as human and was respectful and he then proceeded to tell me “Yeah he is nice because he is new “ – Wow, just wow” I’m telling you that the words and attitude this guy was spewing was out of control. I called the operations manager his name is Carlos S to tell him what happened. I’m hoping that corporate will be able to read this.
I take care of people for a living. I am present at bedside during a patient’s darkest hours when life is uncertain and when they are scared and Angry. I have at least good insight now into how people are, and Marcelo G have absolutely no excuse to treat people like that. I wonder how many people he disrespected to get the sales that he needs. I’m hoping for swift action from managers at this location to prevent this from happening to other people.

On 1/28/24 ( Sun ) @ appx. 7:30pm a man was brutally assaulted inside the gym in plain sight. It involved what appeared to be ( 2 ) Hispanic men appx. 50 years old. The man with long hair was running away from the man with short hair who proceeded to punch him in the head & in the back. The long hair man was screaming in pain. No one appeared to break up the assault. Many of the LA Fitness members crowded around and recorded the incident on their cell phones. This incident should have been captured on CCTV if LA Fitness has cameras in the main areas. LA Fitness staff did not appear to intervene. I did not observe LA Fitness Staff tending to the man who was assaulted. At appx. 8pm ( closing time) the police did not appear to be present. The man with the short hair was waiting outside. I felt scared. I felt as though I may get hit with a stray bullet if the man started shooting. It was very traumatizing having to witness this violent incident. I feel very bad for all the LA Fitness members at this location who had to witness this traumatizing event. I have heard of incidents of crimes happening in the parking lot at this location. I do not feel Baldwin Park is a safe city. I do not feel the Baldwin Park La Fitness is a safe location. I would avoid this location at all costs. If it all possible, I would recommend driving an extra 6 miles to the Covina La Fitness location. At least there, your not traumatized & feel like you are going to die walking to your car.

This is one of the better LA fitness gyms. People that complain about no soap, or lack of new filters in drinking fountains are probably no very familiar with LA Fitness or Gyms altogether at this pay level. Usually if you want more amenities you need to pay for a more upscale gym. The men's showers have curtains, pool water is clean, gym equipment is usually where it should be, just be mindful of the time you visit peak hours can be hectic at any gym. Staff is friendly and greet you with a smile.

One of the newer LA Fitness so it is cleaner than most. Doesn't have a sauna, and only 4 squat racks. The gym gets packed during peak hours, so you might have to wait a bit during leg day.

Good gym terrible cancellation process. I originally had been paying 32.99 for my membership. After some time I wanted to upgrade my membership, I talked to Alex the manager. Great guy, helped me upgrade so I would pay more but be able to bring in guests at 49.99. After a few months I noticed I hadn't been going too much and wanted to cancel my membership. The cancellation is semi-difficult, all you have to do is go into any club and mention how you want to cancel. There should just be an option to cancel online to avoid having to go in. You could mail a letter, which would take days on end. I eventually cancelled my membership and thought the entire thing was over. Fast forward 2 months and I noticed I was charged 32.99 still my credit card. When I say I want to cancel my membership, I want to cancel my membership. Not go down to my previous plan, Contacted their customer support and HOPEFULLY now I won't be getting charged. Overall good gym but tedious process when it comes to canceling your membership.

Good luck getting a machine after 2pm.
Water dispensers haven’t had clean filters since I signed up 3 months ago.
Bathroom/ lockers are closed during peak hours for cleaning all the time.
No one reracks the weights, not even employees.
