This feels discriminatory. Cerritos has shown a pattern that raises serious concerns. At this gym, racquetball courts were reduced from three to just one in a short period of time. In my opinion, this decision disproportionately impacts Black and Latino members, who make up most of the players. Similarly, Liberty Park in Cerritos removed its basketball courts—again, widely used by minority communities—and replaced them with pickleball courts.

These changes create the impression that facilities used by minorities are being removed and replaced with activities that cater to a different demographic. This is unfair and unacceptable. LA Fitness on Alondra has plenty of space to add Pilates without taking away existing courts. Decisions like these should not come at the expense of minority members’ access to sports they value.

Soem of small lockers next to reception desks are out of order. They need to be fixed.

Heartless and Disrespectful Treatment Toward a Longtime Member

I’m beyond disappointed and angry with the way my grandfather was treated at this LA Fitness location. My grandfather has been a loyal LA Fitness member for over 20 years. He recently came to visit us and wanted to work out at the local gym — something he’s done for decades to stay healthy, especially now as he’s battling stage four cancer.

When he arrived, he realized he forgot his ID. Instead of showing understanding or offering a solution, the blonde, overweight lady manager gave him a hard time and flat-out refused to let him in. She was rude, dismissive, and kept saying, “I’m the manager, and that’s the rule,” with an attitude that was completely uncalled for. My grandfather even explained his situation and health condition, and she still replied, “I don’t know what to tell you.”

Thankfully, my grandfather later spoke with a different person who was much more understanding and actually helped him out. But that doesn’t excuse how disrespectful and heartless the first manager was. It takes nothing to be a decent human being and recognize when someone genuinely needs compassion and support.

It’s humiliating and heartbreaking to see someone who’s given years of loyalty to this company treated with zero empathy. Fitness is what keeps him going—it’s what helps him fight through his illness—and for LA Fitness to allow someone like that to represent their brand is absolutely shameful.

LA Fitness, please do better. Train your managers to use judgment, empathy, and basic human decency, especially toward elderly members who have supported your company for decades.

I shouldn't be surprised at another LA fitness is woefully substandard. There are only two stations with sanitizing wipes and they regularly run out, currently there are none. Dumbbell rack is always a mess, customers can't seem to figure out how to put weights back in their proper place and staff and
management won't help. I have complained multiple times about the fact that they have incorrect labels for the dumbbells, meaning they have marked spaces for two sets of 105s 110s 115s 120 is 125 but only one set of each in the entire gym and they also don't have enough spots for 25s, 30s and 35s, even with asking staff multiple times to just relabel the weights so maybe people will put them back in that place. Staff is too lazy to do a damn thing about it. Sad so many gym goers lack any semblance of gym etiquette and staff and management are too lazy to try to help the situation.

ADD MORE WIPE STATIONS!!!! YOU ONLY HAD 2 DOWNSTAIRS AND NOW YOUR DOWN TO 1, IT'S UNHIGENIC AND SHOWS POOR MANAGEMENT.

Seriously this club keeps getting worse, maybe instead of having your employees chatting or scrolling on their phones they should occasionally organize the weights .

Ever since I joined LA Fitness, I’ve had the best experience! Juan, the General Manager, made everything so easy from the start. He not only helped me get set up with my membership, but also introduced me to Pilates.

The Pilates grand opening last week was fantastic — the class was the perfect balance of challenging and enjoyable. Ever since I started coming in regularly, I’ve felt more energetic, happier, and overall more motivated.

I’ve had such a great experience here at LA Fitness! The club continues to improve every time I come in. Today during my workout I got to see the Pilates reformer machines arriving and being installed in the new studio, which is so exciting! It’s clear that management, with Juan and Steven leading the way, are truly focused on creating a better experience for members. Just moved to the area from Costa Mesa and this gym feels and looks gross...how is it that an Esporta in Fountain Valley is cleaner than an LA Fitness. It does the job, but barely. Last summer the entire AC was out. This summer the racquetball / handball AC is out in the one court there is. $99 a month pilates court has been under construction for 4 months. Machines are dated and missing parts.

It’s terrible here no gym etiquette dry sauna is so dirty that you feel disgusted. The members come here and do not shower before they go into the sauna. They wear tennis shoes and Street clothes. It smells disgusting. The Jacuzzi is in the men’s locker room, hidden away in the corner bunch of men just looking at each other. The showers are open. All you see is just guys walking up and down checking out the showers. Very disgusting.

I am glad my membership is done at the end of this month, some things may have gotten better but damn I have asked management like 10 times to just shut the door to the private fitness room cause the music and instructor you can hear over the music of the gym and my headphones. Mgr even put a sign over the door asking to keep closed but for months still nope, I have to shut the door every time I come to the gym. Sadly the MGMT and rest of the team walks by the door being open a bunch and never shut it so it's a wonder why this gun doesn't have people who clean up after they workout(rerack) or god forbid someone doesn't steal some equipment 🤣🤣 trash management = trash customers

Walked into the locker room and there were men working in the women’s showers while the women were showering. All they had was a sign “sorry for the inconvenience”. Instead of investing in a privacy screen or something for the women to be shielded from the plumbers, they just had them working right next to the shower area, as women were indecent and getting dressed. I had to shower in my clothes because the shower curtains are so thin. Such a massive liability and exploitation of women who need to get dressed before work. This gym obviously doesn’t care about their customer and isn’t willing to pay an employee to be around while they work on it after hours.just expecting women to be okay with this. It’s shameful

I only go here for group exercise classes. I'll also use cardio equipment if, for some reason, there is a change to the class I want to take and would rather do something else. I wouldn't do a weight workout here. You always expect some weights and plates to be out of place in any gym, but this gym is worse than average. Too many dumbells and plates are in the wrong spot on the rack or just abandoned on the floor somewhere. You often have to hunt around the entire gym to find what you need.

Really annoying how you have to give your ID to get certain equipment around the gym instead of the equipment being readily available on the floor. Also today my barcode through the app scanned red but they never alerted me, they allowed me to go inside to then make a scene / point by kicking me out and mentioned I wouldn’t be allowed back in until I provided a ID. Came back then she mentions that the photo scanned on my QR code doesn’t look like me and that someone on their team must’ve accidentally changed it. But why am I reprimanded for their employees mistakes is beyond me. Horrible customer service and machines that get broken take up 2 months minimum to get fixed just FYI about this location.

When I asked the completely uninterested and disengaged teenager behind the counter about it, he muttered without looking up from his phone, "Uhhh...they ordered a part and it's on it's way" in between his Instagram posts. Plus, I think I caught COVID from the most disgusting experience I've ever had at a gym. Was on the stairmaster using the handles, and when I gripped the plates for leverage they started secreting a foul-smelling sweat that was NOT MINE. I'll drive the extra miles to a facility that actually cares whether customers renew their memberships or at least uses my money on air conditioning instead of outsized fans that just circulate the sweat and viruses. I just joined LA Fitness last week and came here for my first workout. IT’S HOT AS HELL in this gym! 🥵As soon as you walk in you notice the air outside is much colder than inside. And forget about going up to the second floor where all the cardio equipment is. It’s like 10 degrees hotter up there. I was so pissed I damn near canceled my membership on the spot. I’m never coming back to this inferno and I don’t recommend this gym to anyone. Someone I talked to said the A/C has been down for 2 months already and it’s supposedly scheduled for repair in 2 weeks. I’m going to a different LA Fitness location for sure but I’ll check back in 2 weeks and update this post if they repair the A/C.

Been going here for 2 years. Got much more crowded about a year ago, stuff started breaking, and no A/C for almost a month. Walked in then right out a few days ago because it was cooler outside than in. The past few months something has always been broken and every other week they’re out of cleaning towels to wipe down equipment. Clientele rarely re-rack weights (they need signs instructing patrons to do so). Not sure what the deal is (I know it’s super hard to find people who actually want to work) but this location is struggling lately. Corporate needs to finance this branch better.

This is my favorite place to workout! The staff are very friendly. It's one of the cleanest gyms I've been too. Plus the sauna is VERY HOT and I LOVE IT! But beware of some of the customers that go here. There are a few KARENS (especially when they open at 5 a.m.) that get pleasure out of reporting people because they are jealous. They didn't get to do what I got to do and it's just sad that there are so many HATERS in a place where people go to work on themselves. Better themselves etc....

Place has the potential to be awesome. They have so many great amenities sauna, pool, whirlpool spa, etc. but this gym is really overcrowded. There are never any weights to workout with because people tend to hoard them for their workouts or don't re-rack them at all. People constantly sit on machines so you're waiting for a long time to use it. It just feels cramped. So many times I've had to end my workout because everything and every space was taken. May look into finding another gym with better clean up and organization standards.

Out of all the gyms I’ve tried. This is one of the best gym. It has kids clubs but I wish the hours for kids club is more if it can get extended until closing time, especially weekend.

Either than that the machines are free except the cable machine some times it’s missing parts, people don’t know how to put it back or unless they steal it lol.

Machines here are much better than the other nearby locations; more chest machines too. They do a decent job keeping the facilities clean. I've realized though that every location in my area has maintenance issues that don't seem to get resolved in a timely manner and it's frustrating at times. On my first visit, a couple of months ago, it was busy, but I was able to do what I needed to do. On my second visit, like my first visit, I arrived with my 8-year-old daughter to send to the kids club so that I could work out. The guy at the desk looked at us, made sure that I checked in, and then went back to his phone. I went to take her to the kids club but it was closed although it should have been opened. I checked the kids club hours before deciding on my workout time surgically for childcare. I went back to the desk and the guy informed me that the kids club is permanently closed and will be permanently closed at most area locations. Could you have told me that when you saw me walk in with a young child?! When you saw me walking towards the kids club!? Or the two times I was at the desk, because I had to ask him, he just watched me walk around?!

Been a client for a long time, it's really a disappointment to say that my Thursday aqua fit is very unsatisfying, last Thursday no instructor comes in and we are not informed whether she will be there or not, we cannot come out to ask for we are all in wet swimsuits. It's really annoying that today's class was a substitute instructor. I hope things will get better, or else we will see many people walking out of your gym. Have seen many upset faces today. Love Poala , Sol and Isela ......they are very good instructor for Zumba and enjoy their class a lot. Hope you can do better.

It’s very sad. I signed up for this gym because I wanted to workout, unfortunately now I can’t go because the kids center closed. I don’t have anyone available to help me watch my kids. I come home from work so tired and drive in traffic for an hour and now they want me to drive father for a kids center.
I hope they reconsider. Will have to cancel my membership if I can. They said they closed because they didn’t have enough kids. Many times the system was not working and I left my number instead of checking in with the QR code. This happened frequently about 20% of the time. I’m sure other parents can say the same.

Place is dirty often, the sales team is DISHONEST (careful with them). Anytime something is broken they take foooorrrever to fix it. Only reason I still go to this gym is because of convenience (how close it is to home).

I was scammed by Esporta fitness. In March of 2022, we went to the Cerritos branch located at 10802 Alondra Blvd to process a membership for my uncle, who was staying in America for a few months visiting family. We spoke with Sarah from member sales, who reassured me multiple times that there were absolutely no fees that were to be charged, except for a single monthly fee. He was wary of signing a contract, but she assured us multiple times that we could cancel the contract any time, with no other fees whatsoever. I believe she scammed us due to our inability to speak English properly, and took advantage of us in order to make another sale. We also asked for the contract repeatedly, calling the front desk different times of the day. Each time, Sarah was "unavailable" although we later found out that her hours were 8am-5pm, which precisely were the hours that we called. We did not receive the contract until we went in person to the branch and spoke to David, the general manager. Upon examination of the contract, we realized that we had been completely scammed and that my uncle had signed a contract with annual fees, monthly fees, and start-up fees that were verbally not agreed to. We finally contacted the operations manager, Brenda Martinez, who assisted us with our cancellation request, but not without spending money on an annual fee, 2 monthly fees, and a start-up fee which, as mentioned before, was guaranteed not to be charged. Unfortunately, we do not have proof as we had trusted Sarah to complete a sale with integrity and without scamming people whose first languages were not English. Although there is not much we can do on our end, I would like to warn others who are interested in signing a membership with this branch of Esporta. Please be advised of the above situation at the Cerritos branch of Esporta.

My favorite gym. It's an open concept. All workout equipment is visible no matter where you are in the building. Shared swimming pool. Spa, sauna and lockers are separate from womens & mens. Lots of activities. Problems with finding weights in the weight room. Other than that I love it.
