I am very disappointed with this LA Fitness location. The air conditioning is never turned on, and when I asked about it, I was told it’s because electricity is too expensive for them. This makes the gym very uncomfortable and unsafe for workouts, especially in hot weather.

In the restrooms, the soap dispensers are filled with watered-down liquid instead of actual soap, which is unhygienic and not acceptable for a fitness facility where cleanliness is very important.

It also feels like the overall maintenance of the facility is not being taken seriously. Members are paying full fees, but the basic standards like working AC, proper soap, and proper care of the location are not being met.

I hope management takes action soon, but as it is right now, I cannot recommend this location.

Overall a popular gym. Parking is a bit hard to find. May I suggest the Aqua Fit class to be moved to some time in the morning or at night? Most participants were seniors and it’s caused a lot of traffic jam scheduled at 6pm. Thanks!

Don’t join this gym because if for any reason you need to cancel the membership, they will never let you. If you go in person, they give you a corporate office number. They’ll ask you to send an email, and even then. It doesn’t work. Even if you call your bank to stop the payments, somehow they find a way to charge you again.

This is one of my most frequented locations because of it's proximity to my work and home. Parking is not an issue. The staff is very friendly. It is otherwise very well equipped. There is a basketball court and racquet ball courts if that's what you're hoping to do here.

Downsides are the number of available benches. There's about 6 (maybe more?) but they're easily the most used piece of equipment. I usually forgo any bench workout when I'm here unless I'm able to snipe one. Oh and good luck finding an open squat rack.

This is no fault of this particular location but for gym goers who are affected by other gym goers, I'd say this is the worst one I've seen in a while lol. I've been going here for several years and there are some people who hog the vertical knee raise machine and do movements which make you question which muscle group is being targeted. There is also a frequent customer who literally hogs 90% of the 45lb plates just to fail at a dead lift or squat. They take SO LONG setting up too! I notice everyone around this person taking glances so it's not just me. They've even shown up on my instagram and reddit feed. It's very annoying and the reason I went to look for another location.

Love the machines here, rather than the ones in Rancho Palace Verdes, they keep them well maintained. I have been a member since 2018. My only issue and it is a big one as this happens everytime I go, would be with members who think is is "their personal gym" to use two machines at a time putting their belongings or weights on the seat to prevent others from using while they do full sets on another machine. They put this machine out of use for 30 minutes or more while chatting with people or texting inbetween sets. I feel staff who are walking around should be on top of this. I actually asked a staff member at the desk but not to go immediately after I talked to them, but they didn't go speak with them at all. The machine ended up being consumed by this person for 40 minutes.

I play at LA Fitness Basketball gyms, all across California/Arizona and I’ve been a charter member for over 30 years. I was pleasantly surprised at how clean Elizabeth and John keep the floors and walls. I was shooting around and saw them working around me and had to let them know what a great job they were doing. I've been a loyal member since May 31, 2023, and today's experience left me completely disappointed. I simply tried to bring my wife as a guest so she could try out the facility (with the intention of potentially signing her up for her own membership), only to be told I needed to pay an extra $20 fee! This has NEVER happened at any other gym I've been a part of.

As someone who also maintains memberships at Gold's Gym and 24 Hour Fitness near my workplace at Google, I can confidently say their guest policies are much more respectful and accommodating. Their staff treats members with courtesy and understanding - something severely lacking at this establishment.

To make matters worse, when I attempted to cancel my membership due to this poor treatment, I was informed that cancellations cannot be processed on weekends... yet somehow they can open NEW accounts on weekends? This feels like a deliberate trap to keep collecting fees.

What started as an opportunity for this gym to gain another member (my wife) has resulted in them losing an existing one. I cannot recommend a business with such customer-unfriendly policies and practices. Save yourself the frustration and choose one of the many other gyms that actually value their members.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Visiting from NYC and used this gym and it’s very nice. Good machines and free weights. It is well kept, clean and it isn’t overly crowded. Basketball court is nice, floor isn’t dusty. Plenty of cardio machines and ample space. I enjoyed my visit and highly recommend. Staff is kind and attentive. Justin was great discussing membership options and is very knowledgeable of the facility.

Justin J is VERY RUDE!!!!
I’ve been coming to this gym for over one year. As a Christmas gift, I purchased a membership for my mother. She has only been coming to this gym for a few months now and has encountered roaches in the pool and locker room area FOUR TIMES! She spoke to the front desk staff after the second time, on the fourth time a roach actually crawled on her LEG! My mother went to the front desk to speak to the manager “Justin” who immediately rolled his eyes at her before even asking what she needed. As my mother told him what happened and about past experiences, he completely dismissed her and continued rolling his eyes. When my mother asked for his name, he replied “Justin” , she asked for his last name and he refused to give it to her stating that he is “the only Justin who works here”. My mother clarified that she wanted his full name so that when she reported the incident to the higher ups at corporate, she could give the full name of the manager at this location. He then wrote down “Justin J” on a piece of paper, handed it to my mother and told her to just “go ahead and tell corporate” . This is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE behavior from a manager at a facility, especially in a situation concerning a roach infestation where the roaches are crawling on members and their belongings!

Worst GYM i ever been to training programs and contract are something else I been charged since 1st month and didn't get any training during 1st month come to cancel because I was paying for something I didn't get Brandon and Donovan not helpful at all my contact expires and they still charging me come again to the GYM didn't get any help just an answer to call corporate and the response was the same didn't help me la lady on the phone even try to hung up on me I was talking and I guess she put me on mute she was not talking anymore what an incompetent personal you have. And I know for a fact that I'm not the only one with this problem .

This gym is quite equipped and is spacious enough for a good workout.

It has an aerobic room, punching bags in the aerobic room, a basketball court, and a pool. Has plenty of equipment for weight training. But be cautious, it can get packed. I have seen people waiting in line to use equipment. Be mindful as if you are the one waiting too

I’ve been a member of LA Fitness since 2016, and it’s been a gym I’ve always trusted and loved. I had to step away for a while because of my military service, but when I came back, they welcomed me with open arms and offered me a fantastic deal to restart my membership. It really showed how loyal they are to their customers and how much they value us.

One of the reasons I love LA Fitness is the sense of community. Whether I’m playing volleyball or basketball, I’ve always found great people to connect with. The facilities are clean, the staff is friendly, and the equipment is top-notch. It’s the perfect place for anyone who’s serious about fitness or just looking to stay active. Highly recommend this gym to anyone—it’s been like a second home to me!

This gym is very difficult and unfair. I have two elderly parents in their 80s. My father had been into a nursing home so hasn’t been able to go like he used to. About a year and a half ago my mother canceled the membership. They gave her a receipt, but unfortunately, she no longer has it. I come to Find that they have still been charging her a monthly fee for the membership. I’ve tried calling several times. Spoke to someone named Susan In regards to this matter. I said why have they been still For this membership when it had been canceled over a year ago, she referred me to an email address to write to see if I can get a refund. I did just that and only got the answer Stating that they would not help my parents for any type of refund unless it was a receipt even though my father hasn’t been there in a year and a half they didn’t even try to compromise or even give a portion of a refund extremely terrible customer service. Just horrible.

Went in because I got a flyer for a 15-day trial. Never received my barcode. Text the kid named Miguel the next day that "helped" me out, and I never received a text back. Now im guessing he was never going to send me anything from the start after not signing up on the first day, and the flyer was just a scam to bring me in. I've been there before, and now I remember why I left. They don't care about you. They care about money. I got a trainer a couple of years ago, and she completely ignored us also. Great gym, but open hours aren't great as well as the customer service.
