NOVEMBER 2025: They have enough money to renovate one of the racquetball courts for a Pilates room session and order a vending machine. However, they cannot install a water refill station... The restrooms are unkept and a mess. Majority of the time the training room is empty because who would want to pay extra for a private training session? Short term gain? At that point, open it up for public use for everyone or revamp the gym itself. It needs work and improvement. Come back next time for my updated complaints.

MARCH 2025: Still no water refill station?!?! When will there be one? This facility removed the basketball court for a personal training dedicated area. Another reason to avoid the personal training program and argue for a gym expansion... There are few machines / equipment available and creating a personal training area is ridiculously unnecessary. Seriously, that area could've been the selling point of a membership, if it were an expansion. Weight room is too cramped and dangerous to workout in. The thought of a overcrowded gym room area can be discouraging to go.

NOVEMBER 2022: Good luck trying to find 10lb plates. This gym is disorganized and got many ego lifters here do not rerack the weights. Want to refill your bottle? Nope. Still no bottle fill stations. Just drink the fountains like you're back in grade school. Every damn time I enter the weight room, it is soooooooo cramped and small. Could barely do anything in that room. Every other gym I go to, Esporta or LA Fitness all have a bottle fill station.

EDIT: Sanitary stations are far apart and some have towels dispensary. There are no bottle fillers. The gym is always warm and humid inside; I doubt the AC works. Best times to come here is early in the morning.
This gym location has its pros and cons. I have not had an issue with staff members, as far as I know. This is written on the 3rd reopening of gyms.

The equipments are out of date and heavily abused. The layout of the machines is completely at different ends of the building. The upper body workout machines are the ones closest to the entrance or their office. While the lower body workout machines are towards the center left of the entrance. Then the rest of the equipments are at the back in a very small cramped area. It is completely cramped and not a lot of equipments to go around. There are too many treadmills and the center is completely taken by the staff training area, which not many people use anyways. There are no water bottle fountains, so bring your own jug of water. Generally, the gym is okay. Not the best place to go to in my honest opinion. I spent more time walking to machines than doing my workouts. THOUGH, the squat racks are great and up to date.

Overall, this gym location could use some new machines or refurbished the whole gym itself. It needs a whole new revamp. So it is okay for what it is, just as long you are okay with it.

My sister was completely misled and taken advantage of by Jose Martinez. He promised there would be no annual fee and no initiation fee, and assured her that any fees would be refunded after she signed up. That turned out to be a blatant lie.

After she signed the paperwork, Jose completely disappeared – stopped answering calls and even had the nerve to call her crazy when she tried to get clarity. The charges she ended up receiving were significantly higher than anything he disclosed.

This kind of behavior is dishonest, unprofessional, and predatory. Jose clearly has no integrity and no regard for customer trust. If you're considering doing business with him – don’t. Save yourself the stress and money. Absolute nightmare.

I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Jose Martinez at LA Fitness. While visiting from out of state, he convinced me to switch my existing LA Fitness membership through him by promising I would pay less and have my current annual fee refunded. He claimed he was “close” to his boss Natalie and that she would waive or refund the fee after I was charged. Trusting him, I moved forward—only to find myself paying two annual fees and receiving zero support after the sale.

After I signed up, Jose completely ghosted me—ignoring texts and calls. The two times I did get him on the phone, he was incredibly rude, laughed at my concerns, and even made an unprofessional comment about my weight and called me “crazy.” I later contacted Natalie directly, and she confirmed that Jose had never spoken to her about the agreement he promised me.

This experience felt shady and manipulative, like he was just chasing a commission with no regard for honesty or customer service. I tried to be reasonable and even gave him a chance to explain, but the lack of accountability and his behavior afterward made that impossible. I hope LA Fitness takes this seriously and ensures others don’t go through the same.

This has got to be the WORST GYM in all of Los Angeles and Orange County. The most absolute dirtiest restroom I have ever experienced in the front girl at 6 AM has the dirtiest attitude just as well. i've been a paying member here since 2006, but they have lost my business go to golds gym instead. Machines are old and smell like BO and never maintained. this place just reeks like feces. John the manager - worst person ever. My pass expired one day, renew tomorrow but they say no for the day. I've been a member here for over 17 years they can't let one day slide . It's OK I'm literally over all the grimy here. I just signed up a 3 year at golds down the street averaging $25 a month. I recently visited this gym on an extended work trip. Natalie showed me around the gym and Reno even showed me how to hit my triceps better when I asked for help. Usually when I travel, I really miss my home gym, but the team at La Fitness La Habra were so fun and friendly, that I was excited to work out every day!

For new customers, BEWARE of workers at this gym who pressure you into signing a personal training contract.

I joined this gym a while back with the goal of improving my health. However, I was pressured by Joey (who might be the manager) to sign a contract for personal training. My friend had a similar experience with him and even broke down in tears when she realized she couldn’t cancel her sessions. Feeling uncomfortable around Joey, I decided to switch to a private gym, even though it costs ten times more. It was worth it—I absolutely love the environment and the staff. They make me feel truly welcomed and valued. Even though this gym is closest to my house, I would rather drive a bit further and pay a little extra just to get a quality gym experience. The whole experience with Joesph or "Joey" left me with a wrong impression of this gym that I can't shake.

Recent…. So the previous information related to Esporta but it’s back to being a LA Fitness. I do like that’s there’s constantly cleaning but you do have to watch for wet floors. This facility did change the basketball court to the training facility so if you do the one club membership and want basketball, you might want to select a different gym location.

This facility is okay. Unfortunately, there is not a manager present on the weekend or at least not from what I have observed. The staff appears very young and not very professinoal when attending to unsatified patrons. I also do not like when the maintenance worker cleans the treadmill WHILE I'm running on it, even when I ask her to skip my machine. Having someone around the belt of the machine just makes me nervous!! Also their maintenance is a bit slow as it’s been weeks since this maintenance sign has been on a machine with other machines sill waiting to be properly adjusted for safety.

Update: Hit this gym at 5:00 am only to be met with rude staff member. She didn’t have the scanner out and was doing something else while people were waiting and when asked if we could check in, her response, “I’m busy”. After placing the scanner on the counter, the picture shows her attitude towards members.

Wish I give less than one star . The staff so rude and unprofessional . My wife and I went to the gym they got her to training program and they told us you can cancel anytime . We canceled and they told us to complete the rest of the money for the remaining months of one year so rude, no honesty and no Ethical behavior . Visited during their membership offer. Place is very nice and organized. More of a social place. The weight room is small and confined in a glass partitioned room, which makes it feel suffocating. Not a lot of weight benches and selection of free weights. Minimal selection of machines, too. All this supports a social scene environment, not for serious weight training. Locker rooms are clean but the men's bathroom need more attention. Shower room looking and smelling old. But what really convinced me not to join was no hot water at all. I'm told the basketball court has been remodeling for months...
From a marketing perspective, not a good selling point not having hot water to shower or anything else for days...
This is just my sincere impression from someone that was interested in joining... Maybe next time.

I’m not sure what is responsible for it, but this location seems full of scammers. My particular encounter was with Martin Reyes, who charged me twenty dollars (in cash) to “process” a COMPLIMENTARY 7-day pass. If this weren’t sketchy enough, when I asked for a receipt, he could not produce one. He had to re-enter all my information in order to produce a receipt. This makes it appear as if he simply pocketed the money. When I returned a few days later to inquire about this, he alternated between defensive, aggressive, and dismissive. I asked for a manager, and he would not produce one. Another employee at the counter was extremely silent and still during this interaction, with a bit of a “deer in the headlights” look. A report will be filed with the Better Business Bureau.

Clean this gym, man! The grips on the weights and bars are all turning brown and black. I used a wipe on a bar on one of the bench presses and the wipe turned brown! I think i did more cleaning on that bar in 20 seconds than it had gotten in the past 10 years (I say 10 years because clearly a lot of the equipment is pretty old). I love working out here. The moment you walk in, Candace checking you in is so helpful, friendly & kind! I have a 3 year old so I’m super weary of who I allow to spend time with or watch, my son. Lorena & Jalen (hope I spelled it right) in the kids klub are the BEST!! My son loves them and always runs right in. Those ladies are so respectful and amazing and SO SWEET. The locker rooms and the sauna are also kept very clean and always functioning. Even the equipment is constantly serviced. I have never seen a machine “needing service” for more than a day. They are very well kept, I’ve just never had a bad experience at this location. There is even a team of employees that go around picking up and reorganizing the weights. 10/10 rating. Thank you Esporta for having such an awesome team here!!

I got scammed into signing up for it when the "Manager" promised me a lower rate because I was having some financial struggles and then started charging me the full price after being billed more than I could afford I tried to cancel the Training only to be informed by the company that I signed a contract that would require I pay 50% to buy myself out of it, where as I was told that if I stayed with the program for a year my 12th month payment would only be 50% as a thank you for the loyalty to the program.

He "read/summarized" the contract off his computer screen and had me sign it WITHOUT allowing me to see it and he flat out lied about several parts of it. He suggested staying with the program for 1 full year to see results but did not inform me that I was entering into a year long contract. He implied that it was a month to month program.

There are several reviews on here about the "Manager" Joseph "Joey" Rodriguez doing things like this and zero response from the company. Do NOT fall victim to it!!

It pains me to write this review because the trainer who was working with me was above and beyond AMAZING, he truly cares about the people he is training.

Stay away. The manager for training Joseph R. Is very inappropriate and unprofessional. Said he was not going to charge for trial training just needed to hold card information but charged anyways. His excuse is that he went on vacation so he couldn’t call to confirm he was pushing through the charge. He also claims that this is HIS gym he reports to nobody when we asked to speak to someone else. Insisted that he was the highest authority if that’s the case the franchise needs to clean house. Very embarrassing. Walked out with a “it is what it is” from Joseph and the number to corporate. Disgusting to say the least. By other reviews I’m not the only one and won’t be the last.

There are several other gyms that are close by that are held to a higher standard and are worth your monthly costs. This one is not.

I am writing this review with intense frustration of being lied by the manager in this facility. My wife was coerced to sign a personal training, I was there and expressed reluctance, since she has scatica issue. We were very clear orally, asking serveral times we are not committing anything beyond one month introductory session, the manager made us sign a bunch of papers which made me suspcious about his promise. After one month my wife found the training had no effect on her pain, which we told the manager we are not interested the session. The manager, to my surprise, told me it requires a medical report of my wife's scatica to cancel the program, which I emailed and brought MRI report. Ever since the HQ of Esporta has been harassing my wife to be reponsible for the one year contract. We had never promised the one year program, but the contract must had one year contract which the manager lied and misled us by being ambiguous to my questions. We are intensely frustrated and angry with the manager's dishonest tactic to enrolling elderly first timers to very expensive and ineffective personal training. We are not going to pay a dime more and respond to Esporta's harassement. We are also seeking a possible civil court to settle this. If anyone is interested in detail, feel free to contact me.

It used to be a great club until they removed half the exercise machines and replaced them with a place to do crossfit that very few people use, but they sacrificed a lot of members doing this...plus they don't have enough free weights. and the ones they have are for professional bodybuilders (EXTREMELY HEAVY WEIGHTS) and the very few they have for normal people are scattered all over the gym and you have to take the time to search and chase them everywhere.

El personal que tienen no sirve.
Al principio te engañan diciendo que solo tienes que pagar por 4 meses. Y ya después salen con que tienes que pagar el anual. Es pura estafa ahí.
Y cuando tienes un problema no te ayudan se hacen los locos pero son buenos para engañar la gente. Y la foto te la toman sin autorización es una falta de respeto eso. No respetan.

I have come to love this gym. Since Esporta took over, everything is clean. The ppl at the desk are usually smiling & helpful. Initially I had an issue coming here after the pandemic because there simply were not enough cleaning stations.
I spoke to the manager who explained his situation and gave me the number to corporate. I called corporate & they immediately fixed the problem. When I returned they had added no less than 5 cleaning stations. There is rarely broken equipment here, the pool is big, lots of racquetball courts etc.

It's takes a lot to get me to write a negative review. I usually keep those things to myself and I just leave good reviews for places that earn it. This gym is the worst I've ever experienced. From shady charges to a weightroom that is a complete mess. I was gifted the membership from someone too! so I didn't even have to pay for the membership and I was still so disappointed in the experience I had to break my rule. I'm talking about 15 dollar charges for a 17oz bottle of water. Check your bank if you use it there. They will bounce you around and no one has the power to help. Garbage gym.

Pretty large gym with all the amenities like sauna, steam room, swimming pool, basketball courts, free weights, cable weights, CrossFit, bench press, juice/protein shake bar. Basically an old LA fitness converted into an Esporta Fitness.

I have nothing against the gym or the employees that sign everyone in. But after meeting the new manager today, I am never coming back. I didn’t know I was not being charged for my membership until I received a message. My husband and I walked in to ask what can we do to update and bring membership up to date. The receptionist was very nice and explained we must pay a late fee. We asked if there’s anything that could be done about that fee since we’ve never had issues with the payments, and she literally just turned around to ask her manager if he can help us with the fee, and the manager just said “It can’t be avoided.” So I asked why not to the manager who was 2 feet away from us and he just told the employee to TELL us to just call. My issue was not about the fee, but the fact that he couldn’t even look at us and explain the situation when I was talking to him directly and he completely ignored me using the employee as a messenger. If that’s the type of management Esporta is going to have, I have no business working out here.

I belong to this gym but have a problem with being lied to.

When I was looking to join a gym I inquired as to a pass so I could try the gym out before committing to a membership. The manager of the trainers lied and told me the company dies not do these anymore. As a result I ended up joining before being sure it was the club for me.

I was also lied to about the amount if time I would have to be a member before I could cancel the membership. He told me 4 months but paperwork states 2. When I contacted corporate I was told he lied about both things.

I would have joined later and received the furst me nth free if I wasn't lied to. When I brought it up to the gym manager she did nothing about it.

The gym is haphazard in their layout also. The only bathroom is in the locker room and that is down a very long hallway. If you are disabled that us a big problem.

The cleaning lady during the day us a joke. All she does is empty the trash. That's it. She doesn't sterilize like needs to be done esp with covid.

The equipment is never wiped down so bring sterilizing wipes with you. The first time I wiped down one of the machines the white cloth turned brown. This is how bad the cleaning is here.

No one wears masks so this is a plus for covid 19. It's a breeding ground for covid bc of it and the lack of sterilizing.

There is only 1 class for seniors or disabled people. There are some water aerobics but if you prefer a class not in water you r out of luck in these 2 categories.

They really push training sessions not just the day tou sign up but other times too so be prepared

If you actually read reviews to decide which gym to go to maybe this one will help you. In short. This gym is great. Im a very heavy set guy and i normally feel really uncomfortable going to gyms for reasons im sure you could guess. Here I feel like i can achieve my goals and not be laughed at while doing it. I signed up for the group training sessions and holy! it is a work out! The 2 coaches that teach the classes are super encouraging and I never feel like im failing wish I knew their names. The rest of the staff is really encouraging as well. Special shout out to Joey, Daisy, and Sonya for always greeting me with positive words even when I'm normally very quiet. Dope vibes man. Come and check it out for yourself and you'll see.

Today at 2:00 pm I went to your gym with my two children, the youngest of them has a membership but the oldest invited him to meet him and sign up if he liked it, when he arrived at the reception the lady denied him the entrance told him that he had to pay $20 dls and that he would not let him in and it is not the money it is the way he treats us I have been in that gym for many years and I think the treatment and the response today were not correct 07/29/2022 around 2:00 p.m.

Shadiest gym I have ever been to in my life. Stay away!! Trust me, there are way better gyms out there. We were sold a bunch of lies to get us to sign up with a trainer and NOTHING that we were told is true. Now we are stuck in a contract that we can't get out of. Read your contract! Every single line. Don't for a second trust what the sales people are telling you. They lie just to make a sale and no one will have your back! Not the manager, not VP, not Corporate. No one! This place is a big scam!

I'm a loyal 10 year member at LA Fitness and have been to this gym for more than 3 years now. The fact that there's a basketball court with nice equipment and turf is amazing.

Here's a con and a story removing one star. Before the rebrand of esporta fitness this gym was not very packed but with the esporta rebrand it has lowered the cost of membership and brought about many new people to the point where they may be past capacity or there is a line. This can also lead to more break ins and whatnot, which I have not yet experienced. I just hate having to wait in line to get in and wait for machines for a workout.

My friends have actively managed and worked at this location. Current management has heard my story and complaint below with great service, active listening and accommodation.

Here's the tea. There's a an Asian trainer who works here that is blatantly disrespectful to members that attend. When I went to speak to management about my altercation they rolled their eyes and apologized knowing this was not the first they've heard about this individual being disrespectful towards members.

I'm Asian and this is not racially motivated but if you see a 5'5 Asian male in his 50s with greying hair stay away from him as he will attempt to steal your machine and verbally disrespect you.

Corporate or management you've already heard my story and apologized respectfully on his behalf. I hope this person grows from this experience and criticism to be decent and cordial with people who pay good money to use this gym. If he can't then bottom line is he has to go look for employment elsewhere because that is not acceptable.

Of cancellation of an account. regarding supervisor Sonia and Jenny also I spoke to a Katie and Joel I’ve been trying to cancel my membership for three months and I’ve been getting the runaround not only that the membership services has also been taken out of my account since trying to cancel in February Katie did not discuss that I had to go in to the store or the company physically to canceI had to go in that I thought it was gonna be more extensive to talk to the supervisor all. Once I did I thought it was going to be moreOnce I did I thought it was going to be more extensive due to the fact that I had to wait for a supervisor who I had to wait for a supervisor for more than three months whenever I came in she was always not there and the supervisor was named Sonya. When she did come in she didn’t greet me or even look at me all she had to do was do a one click and then all of a sudden it’s took less than one minute that’s very frustrating I have caregiving duties Of my over 80-year-old grandmother who has health issues and is constant need of care this is an inconvenience and very frustrating I have been a member for many many years it’s regarding a Christine Maldonado membership wasand it’s just very frustrating I was going to come back to LA fitness once I was able to have more time however I am never coming back to LA fitness and will never recommend this company to anyone due to the fact that you’re customer service is terrible terrible regarding cancellation of services I am very dissatisfied very upset I will be making as much complaints as i possible can due to This utterly ridiculous and unnecessary situation.
