Update: even the employees have bo gym etiquette, they won't put weights back where they go and one even refuses to wear headphones and feels the need to bring in a speaker so everyone else has to hear his music. I wonder if he knows how self centered that is?

Another update: it'd be real nice if the trainers had their clients wipe down their equipment after using, how can you work at a gym and be so inconsiderate?

Update: I should be getting a discounted membership for always doing the employees job of putting the weights away properly.

Another update: Riverside started making their staff organize weights and pick up every 2 hours for club pride, I wish they'd do that here, most of the time front desk staff and salespeople are just on their phones or chatting. A little effort would to along way, even just plaxing stickers on the dumbbell racks as there's an entire unlabled section. Seems no matter how many times I ask for this, nothing happeneds

This was the best location around and very slowly they have become a sad Planet Fitness: cheap memberships with promos like bring 10 friends for free daily, allowing groups to take over the machines just to be on their phones, now thanks to those unregistered users stealing the machine's accessories we now have to sign for whatever accessory we might need at the front desk, also, the steam room and jacuzzi have been permanently shut down... LA fitness is destroying its own brand to bring us more expensive gym like its new Club Studio Inland $270 a monthly.
They are destroying the gym just like they did to the Montclair branch when renaming it as Esporta and allowing it to go cheap ghetto. SAD.

I live right down block from Upland gym and it is FILTHY, NEVER ANY wipes in any station, you can visibly see sweat stains on machines there and all weights out of place, horrible, I drive a bit out of way to Laverne as it is way way way cleaner, stocked with wipes, not very packed, weights are not all over the place, everyone there is pretty good about re racking and places weights back. Can't complain. Wish Upland location was cleaner and a more pleasant visit since I could literally walk there.

This place needs a face-lift. Half the treadmills don't work and haven't worked for six months or more. The TVs are broken as well. The screens are burnt out and the pictures are horrible. LA FITNESS charges a premium price for a membership, but they do not give their members a premium product or experience! Sadly 😪

Today i had a lady tell me that she wants to work in with me (she is there to shower and waste time) i told her no because my machine takes too much time to setup in the position i like and i didnt have time to waste.
She standed infront of me as i finished my set i was standing uo to shake off the pain she wipes the seat while my bag and water is on the machine (btw i was less than 1 feet away from her when she did this) and tells me to leave lots of weirdos at this gym if this post gets deleted like my last one i will make sure to post it again
(not to mention the unclean restroom thats always unclean because of the people there just to shower and hang around all day) the gym should terminate these type of people memberships they ruin the place and create problems even if the desk dosent hear about it most of these people are also creepy and weird

I like this gym, always clean as far as in the morning and afternoons, I havent been there late nights so i cant mention anything about its maintenance in the evening. Only bad thing i have to say about this gym its that their treadmills are not all calibrated to spec, the distance and time are not accurate, some have turn off on me completely while i was in the zone of my cardio runs, really ruins the vibe and someone can get hurt... I brought it up to management attention, but thats the only thing i can say they need to work on... other than that, management is great, and place and equipment is clean. One last thing too, they have a kids club, some of us are parents and have kids and can really benefit from that program, only thing is, the kids club is from 4pm-7pm and with kids out of schoo, the club should be open full-time. I havent gone to the gym in a little over a week since the kids are out of school the current kids club hours are just not working out for us.... they should really do a pool and advertise it... I hope they get the ball rolling with that, if not i might be getting another membership at another gym...

I highly recommend visiting this gym. The facilities are always kept clean and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. In case you have a flexible schedule, I suggest avoiding the gym during peak hours between 4-7PM to ensure a more comfortable workout environment. However, even during those hours, you can still get a great workout and make the most out of your gym session.

A great gym! Never too crowded and friendly staff and trainers. The regulars are easy going, you’ll start to see some familiar faces running through. They have a great variety of equipment, and they keep these and the floors clean. Like most gyms there is a general issue of re-racking, so be org of the solution and re-rack your weights!! Very hot sauna. Also has pool, racket ball courts, and basketball courts. Most cardio equipment is on the second floor, and equipment is conveniently located, so you don’t have to take a journey to reach what you need. Check it out!

I am so excited to be a part of LA Fitness in LaVerne. Today was our first day using the pool. My daughter Tiffani who is Down Syndrome did very well excercizing in the water. It was so nice and the people were very friendly. The showers were clean and we are so happy that Jacob took the time to explain everything to me. Jose is also very informative. I often frequent the LA Fitness of West Covina and Chino, but due to some work changes, I've started going to the location in La Verne. The equipment feels cramped. All of it is in good shape, but it still could need an update. The bathrooms are old and need maintenance. The showers have no water pressure like an old 1950 house that needs new plumbing. The ceiling in the showers look unfinished - almost as if they started to renovate but run out of money, and the lighting is depressing. The place is not dirty but has the feel of needing upkeep. One good thing is that it is not too crowded in the mornings, but then again, the equipment is limited, so you still have to wait around here and there. I expected better from LA Fitness.

UPDATED: I now give it 4 starts. I've been coming to this location for 4 months now and it has grown on me.. it is not as busy as I originally thought and even though equipment is limited, I rarely experience any waiting. It is much cleaner than the other locations even though it gives an old gym vibe. People here are very polite and friendly. I now rather come to this location over West Covina.

4.5 stars, LA Fit has been my main gym for over a year now, its great but not perfect. Equipment selection is pretty solid and well varied for whatever your workout goals are, sauna is an awesome benefit, staff are REALLY friendly and I know lots of them by name and they greet me personally, and I've made lots of friends with other members of the gym, it's a very friendly atmosphere. They also improved their hours since I started coming here which is great. However, I find that the maintenance staff seems to be passive aggressive and when the gym is busy it is nearly impossible to find equipment. Overall this is a great gym and I would highly recommend, though Chuze La Verne is now my main gym. For reference, I have been a frequent weightlifter and cardio athlete for 2+ years and I have tried many different gyms in the area including golds, planet fit, crunch, fitness 19, and other local non-commercial gyms. My favorites are fitness 19 claremont, this la fitness, crunch across the street is nice, though they have fewer showers and no sauna/steam room, and chuze la verne.

We were super excited. But They pumped us with false hope and respect. I signed MANY Clauses for them, one being to not show up late or no show that their time is valuable and need to respect their time. We showed up the next day for our assessment on time and only one of the two people that we had an appointment with was there but made another appt at the same time worth someone else the other person not there at all. Then they tag teamed us...Long story short they wanted to make it right by"giving" us two free sessions(we had already paid for a year) where's the free!!??!? Blew smoke up ours... we canceled the membership and walked out. I pray they give you any respect they didn't give us. Beware of smiling faces sometimes pretend to be your friend. You and your health deserve better than this.

I've been training at LA Fitness since they opened in the 80s,the LaVerne location since it opened, approximately 20yrs. Everything physically gets older so something's are somewhat understandable. However the downward slide in the LaVerne LA Fitness is more in attitude. It's in an upscale area which it used to reflect, but it's taken on a much more "homeboy", 3rd World vibe if that makes any sense. PC has something to do with it as well as, it's sort of the "Clowns running the Circus". It's got feeling of being completely rudderless.
It's the convenience of the all club membership, but if another chain popped up comparable but ran more like LAF used to be ran, I'd be gone in a heartbeat,&I seriously doubt I'm the Lone ranger.
