The gym is a standard gym to work out in, however, I've noticed and or had less than helpful experiences.

The locker rooms are average in cleanliness. The restrooms, for the past I want to say 4 weeks, has had issues with maintaining toilet paper, seat covers, and paper towels. Every week, stalls will be without toilet paper and or seat covers for up to 3 days. I've seen cleaning staff, with toilet paper on their cart, use the restroom and then leave without refilling the stalls' necessities. Same for paper towels.

The gym removes equipment that people actually use. There were tires in the gym. Then one day, they were gone.

I've seen, on 3 separate occasions, termites in or near the aerobics room.

There are missing barbels. Staff approached me to tell me I couldn't have my backpack with me on the gym floor, which was directly underneath me at the bench press. Not in anyone's way, not taking up any extra space. Not a fire hazard. I didn't argue about the rule, but since I had them there, thought it would be a good idea to bring up the missing barbells because i normally go in, workout, and leave, so i always forget to bring it up. I tried to bring up to staff, who interrupted me mid sentence to tell me they 'already spoke to him about it', and pointed to a man with a nearly empty gym bag, because of the new policy where gym members are required to leave their items in the locker room or only have a drawstring bag. When they finally stopped talking, I told them, that I was trying to inform them about missing barbells. Their response was that "oh wow, no one else has complained about that". So apparently, for my concerns to be valid, I have to have had other people say something. Weird. They could CLEARLY see that 2 barbells were missing from 2 benches. I pointed to the bench and decline bench, and all they could say was that they'd look into it. If staff was actually walking around with the intention of making sure the gym was in working order, they would have noticed the missing barbells. Since they seemed to not belive me, I went around the gym to take pictures to show them that there is a missing barbell. How does a barbell go missing??? Gym goers are required to remove barbells from one area to go to another area that is supposed to have barbells, just to do their workout.

There aren't enough wipes. And the limited stations they have always seem to run out.

He charge us two membership fees, and told us its an all gym membership which is not true again. He should be fired for not being true to the members just to make a sale out if them.

Kicked out of gym because I noticed a gym doing bench(keeping bar too far above head and neck, and not over the chest) came over and told the man about it and how it’s a little easier and better for form. Got kicked out and told I need to pay trainer fee’s or my membership is getting terminated.

The LA fitness app allows all members to give a 7 day VIP guest to their friends.

Staff always greet you when you come inside the gym. They always have music playing, it’s not too loud or too quiet which is good. What bothers me is that every so often they start locking up the dumbbells because they claim people are stealing them. I visited yesterday and I noticed the dumbbells being locked up. I’m paying $30 a month plus an annual fee to use the amenities and I am entitled to use them. There’s no luxury amenities so everyone should have access to all things. I think a better solution is for members to leave their desks while sitting on their phones and instead try to do walk abouts to monitor their equipment and make sure people are using the equipment properly. Same thing as others have mentioned, I’m not sure if they clean up the previous night but sometimes the toilets have doodo stains on the seat, not the bowl, one day and 3 days later, doodoo stains are still there. I also wish they had cable tv and more better alcohol wipes to wipe down equipment.

One of the cleanest gym in the area! I like the brightness inside. Restroom isn't bad either, can be better but I've seen worse. One thing tho of I can suggest is to provide bike stands outside the gym 😂 so we dont need to use the pole of the disable parking sign! We wanted to park them outside the gym door but we were directed to park there instead 🤦🏼‍♂️.

I love this gym it is super sanitary there is always someone cleaning. The staff are friendly and approachable. I have a wonderful trainer Rene who works well with my needs. There is an abundance of parking you don't ever have to worry about that. Overall I recommend this GYM other amenities are a pool, sauna, locker rooms, showers, chiropractor/massage/rehab, and a child center I believe they charge 10 dollars.

I want to express my gratitude for the prompt response from the front desk team and the manager, Stephanie, to my previously communicated concern. However, I feel compelled to address an extremely worrying situation regarding hygiene at Exporta Gym in Lakewood.

I have always noticed the hard work of the maintenance staff, but during my recent visit, I observed the maintenance staff using the same broom used to pick up papers from the exercise area to remove papers from men's urinals. To make matters worse, he then used the same broom to retrieve papers from above the sink. This act goes against basic hygiene standards and poses a clear risk of cross-contamination.

This type of behavior is unacceptable and violates hygiene laws. It is essential to highlight that the contamination of cleaning utensils in human waste areas and their subsequent use in areas where hands touch poses a serious risk to public health.

I understand that people can make mistakes, but this could be the result of a lack of training or awareness about the importance of maintaining hygiene in shared areas such as bathrooms. It would be beneficial for the staff to receive appropriate training on cleaning practices and health standards to prevent similar incidents in the future.

While I appreciate Stephanie's call to address my concern, the hygiene situation warrants serious attention and immediate action. Therefore, I give a rating of 4 stars for customer service but unfortunately, a rating of 0 stars for hygiene, reflecting the severity of the situation.

I hope this concern is taken seriously, and immediate measures are implemented to ensure the safety and well-being of all gym users.

Sauna finally fixed with new timer, took years but it works better than what they had. Now if they can just bring back the paper towels. They expect for you to clean the equipment with your towel. They never have wipes available and the ones they use dry out needing to use more than they would line you to use. Come on Esporta do better, be better than the other gyms!

Need to do better with service, sauna doesn’t seem to work and the staff at the front desk are clueless. Using cheap wipes that dry out quickly isn’t the beet idea to try and clean the machines before and after use. Service has been on a downward spiral for quite sometime now.

Update still sauna issues they can’t seem to get things rolling at this gym. Hoping that upper management actually reads the reviews at this point it seems that the service reflects upon the managers ability to lead which is at this point unacceptable! 12/27/22

There’s someone by the name of Inek, I think that’s how you spell it, who made my experience uncomfortable. I went to the secluded weight area to do my own thing and this Inek guy came up to my mom’s personal trainer and told him training was only for my mom, while glaring at me. I was only working on light weights doing my own thing due to me recovering from an injury. This Inek peron got a supervisor, who was Erik was trying to mediate the situation since I explained what was going on and said it was fine for me to PT. Erik mentioned that Inek had told him a different story than my mom’s personal trainer and myself, already proving Inek is a liar. But even when my mom’s PT, Erik and this Inek guy were talking, he kept glaring at me so I left the area, feeling uncomfortable. I do know who the DOM is and am debating to bring this up because I know rules are to be enforced, but not with lies or exaggerations. If people are unable to train in the secluded weights area, then please add some signs saying. I know it’s their job to enforce rules, but come up and ask me to leave instead of having three people figure the situation, wasting my mom’s time for PT she’s paying money for.

Decent gym with decent equipment. Almost always unorganized and weights are never put away by members. Bring your own cleaning supplies/wipes because they are almost ALWAYS out. I don’t dare use the showers there again after finding endless hair and rotting banana peels in there.

Staff is nice, but seem to like to hangout and only check if things are in stock/clean if a member asks them to. They may harass you about personal training! I had to block their number cause they kept calling me.

October 10th 2022 8:39 p.m. . No paper towels in the restroom, no hand soap in the restroom. After the 7th consecutive day of attending this gym I finally decided to do this review. And it's not because of short staffing, there's literally 7 employees in the front. Just not enough time I guess to fill these small issues. But hey who am i. Update 08/2022: Lockers by the front entrance not working and ALL water fountains in need of filter change since water is tepid at best. Additionally all hand sanitizing stations are out of order; no paper towels in the men's locker room. Corporate needs to increase the budget so that these things can be taken care of or get new management.. Last year: Esme and Joel are the best. I left my wedding ring there and they quickly found it for me so I could come and pick it up. Thanks!!

I am a member of this gym since 2014. They had been pretty safe. There were two security guards walk around the parking lot. 11/01/2021, my car was broken into and stole my purse. I did not know that there were not security guards walk around the parking lot any more. People told me that there are cars broken into everyday and the gym staffs and owner lie about it and they did not make any effort to try prevent the crimes from happening. Beware people, please do not leave any belongs in the car. This gym is not a safe heaven to all of us to go to. On top of that, there are so many problems that they cover up which it is not helping all of the member that are going the gym. My life turn up side down from what happens. I feel extremely violated. The owner of the gym needs to do better for all of the members that go to their gym. If I see that there is still no security guards walk around the parking lot then I go better business bureau to make my voice heard. No one should ever have to go through this.
