UPDATE: Besides having the same old equipment I reviewed multiple years ago, now THEY DO NOT ALLOW you to have your GYM BAG with you during workout. It’s not like this branch was popular to begin with and they’re trying to reduce the amount of people coming…

Friendly staff (the only positive). However, the machines are really old and they always break and remain out of service for a while, it doesn’t seem like the owners care about the place anymore since there are many old machines that never get replaced.

The staff is nice but they’re lazy. I’ve been going for about 5 months and not once have the dumbbells been placed in the correct spots. People don’t have gym etiquette to place them where they go but the staff should fix them. I can never find the weights I need. Steam room also hasn’t worked for months. Really considering canceling my membership and going elsewhere.

I just moved to the area and wanted to see if this would be my new gym. I signed up online for a 3 day guest pass. I go and they won't let me in saying there was an issue with my number already on file with a picture of someone completely different. The GM refused to honor the guest pass and thus lost a customer. Worst customer service I've ever experienced

Just finished working out ,I needed to stretch ,all matts and space was taken outside ,I walked in the room with all the mirrors (forgot the name) I notice a yoga class was either finishing or starting because it is 5:55pm ….i went in a little corner far away and quietly …. The yoga instructor came up to me and asked me to leave …I told her I had no place to stretch and told her I’d be quiet …she said “I don’t care theirs a class taking place go speak to to the front desk but you have to leave “ …went over to ask for management and no one was there to help me out . … horrible management over all …. Put more stretching areas out or put a sign that says “class is taking place please be quiet “ because I’m paying for a gym membership to use all except the training are so ??? Do better !!!

Unfortunately due to terrible customer service and non-communication with my situation from the gym and being told lies about my account, I decided to cancel my membership today. Every time I asked to speak with a manager, there was an excuse and one of them was "Oh, sorry it's a little hard getting a hold of a manager in person/on site sometimes they go to other sites." I would highly recommend that you train your staff and to keep things honest and professional at all times. As I close out my time with la fitness until November, I pray that things improve starting with leadership. Thank you kindly! Much love :)

For some crazy reasons they don’t even care to heat the hot pool to a reasonable temperature. I’ve been a member for 18 months and I’ve only had the pool at an adult temperature.

First and foremost, the staff here are some of the friendliest I’ve ever met. Sal and Jasmine (hopefully I spelled your names right) were incredibly kind and hooked me up while I was in town for work. This is what makes the difference in choosing a gym.

Some of the people inside are slightly inconsiderate of putting weights away or being on their phones too much but what gym doesn’t have that these days.

5 stars for sure merely for the customer service and staff friendliness. Will definitely be coming back in the future.

Kids club is NOT included in membership. Wasn't made aware of this until I had my 2 babies with me at the gym and was surprised with an addition fee that I did not have at the time. They had me waiting in the lobby for 20 minutes trying to charge me the fee while my 9 month baby was crying and my 3 year old was trying to touch the workout equipment. It wasn't until I was getting ready to leave that they offered to wave the fee for the day... at that point I was already more than flustered and my daughter was alreasy on the verge of a tantrum. Absolutely disgusting to not be 100% transparent about kids club fees. Canceling my membership today. Oh and they make you bend backwards to cancel membership. Parents beware!!

I had a terrible experience at LA Fitness Carson Cherry. When I arrived at the gym, the girl at the front desk was rude and unhelpful. I asked her for a guest pass so that I could bring a friend with me to work out, and she told me that I needed to have a physical pass in order to bring a guest. I explained to her that I had already paid for my membership and should be able to bring a guest, but she insisted that I needed to pay an extra $20 for a physical pass.
I then asked to speak with the manager, Anthony, who was even more hostile and unhelpful. He told me that there was no way to issue a guest pass at the gym and that I needed to go online and request one. He said that it would take 24 hours for the pass to be processed, which seemed like an unreasonable amount of time. I was surprised to hear this, as I had been able to get a guest pass at other LA Fitness locations in the past without any issues.
Anthony then attempted to extort $20 from me, saying that if I didn't pay for the physical pass, I wouldn't be able to bring a guest to the gym. I felt like I was being treated unfairly and was very disappointed with the level of customer service I received.
To make matters worse, both the girl at the front desk and Anthony were extremely hostile and unfriendly during the entire encounter. I did not feel welcome or respected at the gym, and I left feeling frustrated and upset.
Overall, I would not recommend LA Fitness Carson Cherry to anyone. The level of customer service was very poor, and the staff seemed more interested in making money than in helping customers. I would suggest that the gym improve its policies and train its staff to be more friendly and helpful in the future

Pros: Really chill LA fitness location. GREAT ATMOSPHERE. All the people are really nice and polite. Very affordable, sales team did a nice job getting our memberships set up. There’s a lot to do here as well, very well equipped location with something for everyone! If you need a safe and comfortable place to work out this is a great option. Well worth the extra $ over some competitors.

Cons: no one re racks weights. And staff doesn’t make rounds to clean up Like at all. The place is an un organized mess 24/7. Cardio machines are dated and a little squeaky.
Bathrooms/locker rooms and showers are DISGUSTING. 1/2 the showers are out of order, the floors never get mopped, toilets dirty, etc.
worst thing so far is the Personal Training department has called me over 10 times in a week HOUNDING me to sign up for a free fitness consultation. I have politely declined this service every time including when we signed up for the membership. This has bordered on harassment. I eventually had to set a clear boundary with the Manager after he called me right after I checked in and hounded me to come to the front for the fitness meeting which I had clearly declined many times before. So be ready for some pressure from that department after enrollment.

The rates could be better for what's offered. Was really only interested in a pool for lap swimming that is easy to get to.

Pool has thee lanes and every time I've gone, so far, at least one is closed off to accommodate private children's swimming lessons through the back door. No clear signage or instruction for patrons on hygien practices with swimming pools so it looks like most people just walk around on one end to cool off from the jacuzzi & dry sauna adjacent to the pool and I'mfaurly sure there is no spigot to rinse off in that area regardless. No marker flags so backstroke can be difficult to time and risky. Pool is clearly not maintained/cleaned properly and the lack of circulation in the area makes the whole area smell like mold. Locker rooms are nice until getting back to the bathroom/shower area where there are obvious water damaged and old materials.

The staff are pushy and rude during the membership process and never offered an option for a trail period, rather I was told I'd have five days to cancel after signing up. Was continuously pressured to sign up for additional member services including workout/dietary plans and fitness goals that I had no interest in.
If it wasn't the most convenient location, I would much rather go somewhere else.

I have been in this gym for 5 years, the attention is very good, it has very good teachers and classes!
Everything is always clean (bellflower blvd) it has a nursery that works well.
In general, it has all the type of machines that you may need.

activated my three day pass & never received an email. i went the next day and was told i needed it because they couldn’t find my phone number, was told to call the next day. So far so good. I primarily use the pools and showers. Cleaner than 24hr fitness so far. Customer service could be better. Most of the time they're buried in their phones. The hours could be better. Closing at midnight would so much better. Otherwise gotta be at gym by 8pm. Kind of a pain. Just eyeballing the rest of the gym, looks clean. Being charged for towels when there is no towels available is pretty silly. And you can't take it off unless you come by during regular business hours. That's pretty inconvenient as well. Personally, as long as the pool and showers stay clean, I'll change my rating to 5 stars. 24hr started fine, then their pool and showers got nasty.

A ton of ego lifters, moaners, groaners, machines are always taken because people circuit train and hog machines, also machines are beat to the ground and are rusted and just not even up to par, cycling machines are way to close to the railings that you can hurt yourself using the machine, also the management for this establishment is a straight joke, and don't even get me started on there a/c because that thing is broken and it's hot and musty up in that gym, don't believe people when they say this is one of the most up kept gym which it isn't. Go to another gym because you'll see what I'm talking about.

The gym is ok, there are better places for around the same price. A lot of the equipment is outdated and rusted. It is crowded for most the day except late morning. They spent so much money to make the gym "look" more up to date but the same decade old equipment that is so poor condition the elliptical are wobbly, RUSTY and many machines are missing their weight indicators. Looks more like Balley total fitness before they took them over. This is the LARGEST gym in the country by far and they had started down the path of renovating this gym before the pandemic. They have had years to show members they care about this gym with quality equipment. Even if they replace 10% if the problem equipment a year, they'd have a better asset value. Sad. I've been paying for over 10 years. This gym is always busy so it's not like they don't have the membership. I would suggest talking to management if you're a member here and tell them to invest in new equipment.

This is a great location. The basketball court is never crazy packed and thr people are nice. It's two stories and it's never a packed location even ok it's busy days it's still ideal. Majority of the people are regulars and generally nice people

I had an incident with a person prompted need to upgrade my membership to a multi location something I thought would be a headache and after the encounter with this incoherent person I fretted the phone call to upgrade.. he was the most wonderful efficient person I have spoken to in a long time, he was able to understand in a heartbeat my reason my request and made it all happen clear communication was over the top amazing he helped me so much today and thought I do want to venture out to different la fitness clubs thanks to him I might just give this location another try.

This place is awful. No water bottle fillers, no sanitation or way to clean equipment before or after use. It’s overcrowded and the staff is less than helpful.

I call them to ask if the steam room was working and they told me yes, when I was there, it wasn't. I call them again to report it but, the answer from them. It's not my Job

They are irresponsible. Trying to remodel the place and not letting people know that they are doing so. I came here a couple of times, and every time they remove like half of their machines to remodel half the whole gym. Waste of time for those that have little time after work . They should at least let people know, or just close down the place while the remodeling is happening. Totally not professional. I am changing my gym membership.
