I've been a patron of LA Fitness for YEARS, including back in Chicago before moving here. My "home" gym has been the Temecula location off Winchester for the last three. I recently moved and the Menifee location is less than 10 mins away from me. Unfortunately, they do not have a sauna so I had to find the next closest. This Murrieta location is 13 miles away so I gave it a try and tbh I didn't like it. It's so much smaller than the Temecula one, the lockers are completely different style and they feel cramped. The sauna sucked and I barely broke a sweat in the 20 mins I was there. I'm a creature of habit and I use the sauna M-F for 20 mins and by minute 8 I'm sweating and by the time I'm done I'm drenched. It was definitely not the case here. The gym also seems to have water damage and possible mold (see images of ceiling). Needless to say I will now drive the extra 2 miles (15 total) and take myself back to my home gym.

Never coming to this location again. I have been to several locations and most instructors don’t mind if I stretch in the back while they do Zumba or any other class because I’m out of the way. The instructor on the Friday class at 11 came at me aggressively and rudely told me to get out. It was so unnecessary and and could’ve been handled better.

Be careful with the membership. We did a family membership (when we did the membership, we were told this is a multi club membership) and my husband has been to several different places and we’re okay. When I went to a different place, they told me that I have a single club membership. Looks like they made changes to your account to force you pay more.

I got a bad impression of the gym as soon as I joined. Initially it was a ‘bait & switch’, I was told on the phone that I would get the promotion rate and no initiation fee and to come on into the gym to sign up. When I was there, the staff member told me there was a higher rate and a $99 initiation fee and he couldn’t do anything about it. I told him I did not feel like signing up due to being misled. I signed up after being pressured, he informed me prices were going up soon. The gym itself had old and dirty equipment, filthy locker rooms, and the staff were unhelpful. I regret signing up for this gym. It was not worth the money, there are many other options available for a much better price and experience.

As someone that has been to most locations in Southern California, I can tell you that this is one of the better ones.

However, compared to others, it still didn’t have independent dip bars for calisthenic movements, and a steam room.

Overall, I would say that if you’re looking for a gym to go to, though, this one definitely has the largest amount of turf area within a 30 mile radius.

Parking is acceptable, and remember to bring your water and headphones ;)

Childcare is not a safe place to leave your children, especially the ones that can’t speak. Thank God I had my older daughters present to witness the treatment and let me know what they saw. I took them twice in 2024.One day during daytime was fine, one evening was not, not worth the risk. The evening was a lot of phone scrolling by the care providers, neglect towards the children and lack of compassion for toddlers. One gal roughly put a toddler in a jumper because he was crying to try it, then he was crying in it (likely because she was not nice putting him in) and she left him in it and told him it’s his fault, paid him no attention other than cold attention for an extended period and made him stay. My eldest felt obligated to show the boy compassion and show him love and try to calm him while he was trapped in the jumper. Not my kind of place.

Gym overall is nice. However, every time I go to play pick up basketball the court is burning up in there. When you tell the front desk to turn up the A/C they reply with the temperature is set by corporate. I swear one time they had the heater on and you could feel the hot air blowing mid court. Stop being cheap LA fitness! Hopefully they do something about this with enough complaints.

A good LA Fitness. Has a good pool that’s clean (that I once swam every day in), good showers, and a hot tub, good equipment with 2 floors, a saunas, vending machines, and more. Only real complaint is the lack of touchscreens on the treadmills with google street view walking and everything, which are restricted to Club Studio for now, but it’s probably just a gen z thing. The other thing is the architecture of the Poolroom gives me slight anxiety for no particular reason, especially when empty. This is probably the lack of windows. Additionally, I once refunded a personal training that I didn’t need anymore for my schedule, and it went through.

I cannot say enough about the workout and training I receive at LA fitness Murrieta.
As a senior citizen I have developed a knee problem and some arthritis. I’m not alone with many other people who want to workout but have the issues of pain. I come here because of all the amenities. But then started working out with Lynette who is a fabulous personal trainer. She is confident and strong in which she believes in for a strong healthy body. However she is patient and looks out for me because of my knee issue. Her energetic attitude sets the tone for a great workout. I am behind grateful. Thank you for having Lynette to do classes for seniors and personal training. She makes a big difference in a lot of lives. I feel great because of her !!!

Been a member here since it opened. If you are serious about working out, this is not the place for you. The biggest problem is there are so many people at the machines or other apparatus texting for long periods of time. It happens every single day and no one who works there does anything about it. I was there the other day and watched a guy on a machine sit there doing nothing but looking at his phone for 20 minutes. Many of the members who I have spoken to have the same issue. Ridiculous.

Great gym, kind staff but… I’ve told the staff numerous times that there is something dangerously sharp on one of the fixtures or cages on the bottom of the hot tub. I know this broken sharp object on the bottom of the hot tub would slice someone’s foot wide open. Well guys just to let you know gyms have changed a lot from the last time I was in one but when I found out that my insurance pays for my gym enrollment I needed help staying fit I was greeted by Sean amazing guy with a great personality sign me up for the best price this weekend then Parker help me thru these high tech machines I been always a free weights at home but WOW! they have machines exercise every part of the body if you need it and Parker listen to me about how I wanted to lift weights 💪 and show me how to use them and then there is Jesse very young but very knowledgeable but I am a retired person and have to restrengthing my body not as strong as I once was lol 😅 need to use this gym to substitute for my activities 😅 🙃 talk to these guys for a great experience!!!!

A dirty chaotic facility. Nobody cleans their machines, if they do they leave the little tissues behind, or their waterbottles, or energy drinks, or their bandaids. Rules aren't enforced meaning there are big gym bags on the floor that you have to hopscotch around, people are on their phones or play music out loud, weights are slammed and nothing gets returned. Kids of all ages run wild. An expensive gym to be so poorly maintained.

This should be one of the best Esporta gyms around... large space, equipment in decent shape, but the management of this place has deteriorated quickly. Gym bags everywhere (including huge duffle bags) and a dumbbell rack they actually took the labels off of. It's chaos, and no one on staff seems to care. Easily the worst of the three LA Fitness/Esporta gyms I go to regularly.

Update: Homemade taped labels are on the weight rack, let's call that a victory. However, it takes forever to get new, undamaged equipment (still waiting on that 70lb ez curl bar that went missing 2 years ago). Trainers don't bother to rack their weights, so they set a bad example for new gymgoers and regulars alike. If the staff doesn't care, I promise you the patrons won't either. Bags are still a problem, but I'm starting to feel like without a bag, I'm in the minority. Busy times of day, you get to navigate around people, unracked weights, duffle bags, backpack straps, people on their phones, and possibly filming despite the "no filming" policy posted. I understand that this is a typical gym in 2024, but I'd like to think we can do better.

Came in to try out the gym for the first time with my teenage son. When I asked for a guest pass they immediately brought the manager over who asked me way too many questions. He then brought over a salesman to give us a tour of the facility while trying to sell us on a membership. He brought us back around to the manager who went over prices and was VERY pushy. He kept insisting I sign up now even though we wanted to try out the gym first. He got more intense telling me if I don't sign up now I'll miss the special and be pissed at him.

I understand trying to get members but the way they went about it was too intense. I felt very uncomfortable at one point and ended up leaving without trying out the gym. The manager needs training on how to speak to people.

Staff is super friendly and Trainers are helpful- I would recommend Lynette for those with injuries or anyone that has struggles with motivation. She was patient with me and my sister with personal training and I saw an improvement in my energy levels -

I was on a 3 day trial..the gym in its self was fine though I could address some sanitary issues I encountered, my biggest issue though was with the crew. Very pushy about the membership and when I tried to address some of the things I had concerns about they were more about how those things never happen or how odd you encountered that issue, instead of helping put me at ease and make me feel welcomed and wanting to sign up, they made me feel like they just like swiping things under the rug. The man's sauna stunk and there wasn't anything else other than tinie tiny disinfectant wipes to clean the equipment with. I was really disappointed since out of all the gyms in my area they are the closest and great membership deal. That's the only reason I don't give them a 2 ⭐ rating!!

They need to do a better job at keeping the facility clean, especially the floors in the women's locker room. The same dirt accumulation is on the bathroom stalls' floor day after day. The inside of the stall doors have dirt on them, like brown gunk. This can easily be removed using the right cleaner. I have brought it up to management and nothing is being done. There are also traces of dirt around the base of the stalls' door frames, and hair. The floor in the main workout area looks dirty and so does the floor in the women's locker room.
I have seen the person who cleans the facility chatting with members instead of paying attention to what needs to be cleaned.
This location is not what it used to be, sadly. It's not well maintained.

It is clear to me the newer management has listened to the concerns of those that use this gym daily. I want to give a BIG shoutout to the custodial team and to have it be known their hard work is noticed. I have gone pretty consistently at different times over the last few months and always see them diligently working around the clock to elevate the gym to impressive levels of hygiene, especially in workout areas and locker rooms. Equipment maintenance has seen a significant improvement, with issues being promptly resolved, ensuring minimal workout disruption. I just attended my first group fitness training session, and "wooza" ... it was quite the work out "for me" since it has been quite awhile since I have done anything like this. My trainer is great, friendly, engaging and motivational. BUT .... me on the other hand, I punked out half way through 🤣🤣🤣. Sorry trainer, it wasn't you, it was me. I will be back though and pledge to attempt to stay for the full session. Just be patient with me. I was also supposed to hit the treadmill for 30 minutes after the session. That as well didn't happen. Proud of myself for joining the gym and making an effort. I will return 💛

I'm an out of state la fitness member who goes here when I'm in the area two or three times a year. Overall good gym with lots of options. Maybe a bit cramped at times with an active involved membership base. Nice free weight room. Machine weights a bit cramped but a nice selection with lots of variations. Class area is constantly busy with a nice variety of class types. I love the warm up area because of the many options available to stretch and warm up. Pool is often busy and sometimes requires sharing lanes. Pool area needs some minor tile work on the walls. I wish there was a separate pool for the hand weighters so I could swim laps without any distractions I love that the jets in the hot tub they line up well with where I need the force on my lower back. Locker design is a bit confusing inside. Have not figured out how I'm supposed to store my stuff in it. With the amount of members going here this gym is maybe in need of an expansion but it's managed well and every bit of space is well used. Generally clean and appears to receive constant clean up attention.

This place sucks! It feels like there’s no A/C, it’s very humid and muggy. Last time I went in, it felt like I was going to faint half way thru my workout. The airflow is terrible. Staff is great and the gym and good amenities. The problems outweigh the benefits though. I've been coming here since I was 15( with a parent). I'm now 36 and there has been no remodeling and very little repair. The things that have been done were by handymen or random "contractors". For example, they replaced some tile in the bathroom 2 weeks ago, and it is already falling off/ looks like sub-par work. This place is run down indeed. A bigger issue is that there are a bunch of teenagers running around all over the gym after 3:00 p.m. with no parents. Please help, Esporta!!!

I've been coming to this location on and off for yearsss. Back in 2016-2018 they had different staff and they were amazing and constantly greeted you when you arrived and left, actually went around the gym greeting people and making people feel super comfortable at this gym. These three stars are for the past amazing employees, you know who you are, hope life is treating you great! Also the gym itself is a solid clean gym, has everything to have a good lift. In the past years the staff has come and gone and it's almost awkward walking in and the staff is on their phones, talking to each other or at their desks chatting it up NOT acknowledging you at allll, only the people they know or people looking for memberships lol I never see staff going around the gym even just re-racking or giving simple hellos to people around the gym. They don't give positive vibes or awesome energy to want to work out so you gotta give yourself the WELCOME TO ESPORTA :) and goodmorning(afternoon/evening) and hellos when you arrive there, it's almost discouraging seeing how the customer connections have gone down here throughout the years. This location definitely needs to work on their customer connections, too good of a gym to have employees who give no effort. A simple nice hello and welcome can make someone's day a little better.

This place is disgusting. Easily the dirtiest gym I've ever been in. The equipment is pretty decent but the plates are absolutely destroyed.

And beware of the trainers. One specifically is incredibly dangerous, I have seen her teaching horrible form and giving completely unfounded dieting advice, like that bcaa's effect the percentage of fat in the muscle fibers. Very concerning.

Unprofessional staff. Murrieta location is operated by a bunch of kids. My very 1st day at the gym. A very disappointing experience I had when they let me wait for 20 mins (couldve been longer have I not asked if the person, priscilla, I have scheduled to meet is still coming), just to let me know that the person is always off on Sundays and wont be coming to meet with me. I even got a confirmation message from them for the Sunday schedule, all they say was “maybe she mistaken the day as Saturday”. I havent had time to explore the facility as the experience in front is already awful.

The gym equipment is in good shape and the facility is large. However, it can get crowded during peak times which is from 3 to 7 daily and weekends is not to crowded. My biggest complaint is that the bathroom need to be cleaned a little more often and the bathroom definitely needs to be updated. It's worn out. I went at 5 am. It was my first time there. I wanted to try out the gym and possibly get a membership. The front desk clerk was very rude. I saw some people just walk in, and others scanned a code. I was meeting a friend there. She told me to walk in and meet her inside. The clerk screamed that I needed to scan a code or get out. Mind you, I had no idea as a first-time visitor.

I asked for a visitor pass. He said I could get one online. I had trouble getting it online, so I asked him for help. He looks at my phone and walks away towards a computer. As he starts speaking in front of the computer, he says annoyed, "I am here, you need to come where I am at." I felt myself getting upset. Who is that rude. He could ask politely, but he spoke very condescending to me the whole time i interacted with him. He then told me that he needed to take a picture of me to have on file for a guest pass. He took a picture and then asked for my ID. I don't know why he needed so much just for a guest past, I felt more like he was targeting me.

The facilities are nothing out of the ordinary. They have basic equipment. The machines don't have single televisions. You can watch a communal TV if you tune in to a channel. The bathrooms were not really clean, and it was barely opening time. They have a steam room.

After the bad customer service, I didn't return and won't again. It doesn't have enough amenities for me to want to go there either way.

DON’T GO TO THIS GYM!! On March 8th 2023 My daughter went to Esporta Fitness in Murrieta, she put down her Bose headsets for two minutes and someone took them. When she talk to the staff they said they can’t help her. When I call the manager said “ in the fine print of the gym contract it says they are not responsible”, so they just don’t care. 1st off if you are retired or can go to the gym in the middle of the day or morning on a week day not a bad place... I made the mistake at coming in there after 230 on a weekday one day.
The place was like after school day care for high schoolers who bring all their punk friends with them, The Sanitation wipe stations never have sanitation wipes in them, I asked a manager today if they could Replace the sanitation Wipes. Well here are some pictures 50 min later when I left.
It would be a great gym If under 18 had to be accompanied by a parent. The kids walk from the high school and stay at the gym until their parents come pick them up cause they don't live local...they live to far away to walk at home.( I asked a group of them)

My family recently moved to beautiful Murrieta from Orange County, Ca! My 14 year old son and I work out here at ESPORTA fitness, i must say the gym is in great shape the staff is very friendly. Great equipment and always clean. Today while playing basketball i completely tore my patella tendon causing my kneecap to pull back into my thigh. The staff called an ambulance for me and I really appreciate that, i was in some serious pain. I didn’t catch there names but i really appreciate you guys. Thank you.

You pay 25-30$ a month for an overpacked uncleaned/disgusting facility. The employees stand around and do nothing while the paper towels never get stocked, sauna is filthy disgusting. Floors are black usually from noone mopping. They extend their hours just to let 1000 guest in at a time so you have to wait for workout machines, you have to wait for the sauna. I will be canceling membership this month. Do not spend your money on this facility-this is the worst I’ve been too

It's a really nice gym and I like it a lot. The pool and jacuzzi are well maintained, the mini crossfit/hiit area is nice and a more than appropriate selection of gym, equipment and free weights.

Was charged 3 times in one month. Spoke to a certain Cyta who claimed to be the manager and told us to call corporate but she couldn’t give us the number despite claiming to be the manager. She also told us the call our bank even though they are the ones charging us. The gym is a good place but their management needs training.

This is the closest Esporta to me, but I’d rather make the commute to the Temecula Parkway location. The staff at this Murrieta location made me feel like they couldn’t care less about their members. Also, the majority of staff huddle up at the front desk and sit there gossiping. It makes me feel extremely awkward scanning in like I’m interrupting something, and when I have a question they all get quiet and stare at each other like “who’s going to answer?” And it makes me feel uncomfortable walking into the club.

When I first signed up and went to this location I mentioned I just signed up online, is there anything I need to do here in person? And the group sitting at the desk sat there quietly and looked around at each other waiting for someone else to deal with it. Then finally someone got up and helped me scan in and download the app.

This club could do better in terms of management and customer service. Overall I feel the club is relatively clean and I do enjoy the sauna.

Great place to start the day or unwind after a long day's work. Lap pool, spa, sauna and all the workout gear you need to get your beach body on point! Oh, and 2 basketball courts. I think tennis too. Just joined. No regrets!

The ladies who exercise in the pool, do not shower and drag all the filth from the restroom into the pool with their dirty shoes. They say that they do not have to take a shower.
I was told that they were creating a bigger shower sign, but have not seen it.
I had to stop going to the spa due to skin rash.
Can we at least let these woman see a bigger sign about taking a shower before entering the pool?

I do not go to esporta, however, had a situation arise where I had to speak to a team member named mustafah!! Wow. This guy is completely unprofessional. I go to fitness 19 and my key card for there was on an old keychain that my dad for some reason was using. They offered to change MY keycard for access to esporta for him! How can they change a card that A) said fitness 19 and B) belonged to someone else without even verifying anything. My dad is kind of naive and had no idea it would eliminate my access to fitness 19. I had not been in a bit because I injured my knee, but was ready to start going again. When I realized what had happened I called esporta to ask why they changed my card for fitness 19 to access to esporta instead and for someone else and I was transferred to mustafah. He didn’t once apologize or even admit that it is not right to do. He actually started pretty much saying it’s my fault. He came at me very aggressively. I am so glad I do not go to esporta. So many bad reviews regarding their management and now I see why. DO NOT GO HERE! There are much more professional gyms in the area.

Terrible experience trying to get a membership. Called a week before going in to apply for a membership and was told I could get a year membership in full for $267 then when I get to the facility I’m put with a super rude employee who told me they only have a 1 month, 18 month, and 36 month membership plan. i agreed to do just a month thinking I would pay for 1 month plus initiation fee. (Then paying 10$ a month after that) The guy proceeded to create my membership and I brought up that I wanted to pay the 10$ for next month before my 1 month expired and he looked at me and said it would be 50$ if I wanted to come back next month.. I was confused and when I asked about it he said he already explained it to me 4 times…. He continued to be rude and told me to go to another gym… What a horrible sales person. Who tells a customer to go to another gym when they are trying to get a membership. Oh I also forgot to add that after I realized I would be paying $50 for the next month I just said “Okay I guess I’ll do the 18 month” He proceeded to tell me that he can’t change it and the transaction already went through…. I HADN’T EVEN PAID YET. What does he even mean the transaction went through already.. Worst experience I’ve ever had at any gym in my life

This is the worst of the 3. It used to be a lot better ample room (though dirty) and lighting. However now everything is squished close to each other (to make room for the artificial turf) with very poor lighting. It's as if the people who designed the layout never use their facilities.

I referred a friend to go to LA fitness and try it out on a 7 day trial to see how they like it. He went in and was denied access to the gym since he wasn’t a resident, which did not make sense at all since one of the people on my membership is not a California resident and was the one to sign us up. They were very rude about it to him as well and if you want to have better service and respect i would not go here. Knowing what happened with him and how i called to speak to a manager about why this happened when it never happened to us the lady totally hung up on me when i was still trying to talk. This is poor service and not professional at all, you want people to sign up for your gym but no one will after you experience something like this. I was considering another membership but i’ve decided just to cancel all mine due to this incident. I recommend going somewhere else the workers and sales here are a scam and very rude about everything.

The Cal Oaks facility is filthy. Pool has sand gravel all over in the shallow end and things floating. Hair, trash and dirt on the pool deck. Wall paper pealing. Showers have mold and hair, At 9AM Floors in the restroom and locker room are filthy. Lots of young employees (4 this morning) hanging at the front desk ignoring people coming and going. Maybe they would be better cleaning! I will stay at the Winchester location which is beautiful, clean and friendly.

I totally agree with previous reviewers. The facility is run down and management is unprofessional. It feels like it’s managed by teenagers. The pool is nasty and has tons are stuff floating in the water and even though there are lots of staff, I never see anyone cleaning, moping or anything other than talking. When you go to other well managed gyms, you realize how out of sync this gym actually is. It’s too bad cuz I love going to the ones in Temecula, but this one is right by my house

Don’t recommend coming here, nasty gym filled with gnats in the shower/ pool. Mold in the showers. Facility broken and damaged in multiple areas around the gym. Manager Esther and operations manger Aaron seem to give no interest to any member who complains. Rather make excuses for every complaint and every member who complains. Please don’t go here, go somewhere better with better amenities and better staff who care about cleanliness and safety!!!! And put their members FIRST most importantly.

The gym in Murrieta is filthy. Dirty floors, showers loaded with hair and slime, torn and missing shower curtains. When I complained they simply did not care. One manager just said”be well”…he obviously can’t manage!! Oh well I’ll go to another gym. I’ve gone here almost every day for 7 years!!!

This place does not follow the state’s guidelines of cleanliness. The shower curtains at the bottom is full of black mold and jacuzzi has not been maintained. Dirt is at the bottom of the jacuzzi and feels gross. I would be careful using the showers and jacuzzi due to possible exposure to infections and illnesses.

This is the worst company/ gym/ membership to be a part of. I was a member at this location since 2008 and would recommend it to no one. I have never posted a review before today, but have years of examples of poor service.

This location was originally branded LA Fitness, then rebranded to Esporta Fitness.

They charged me multiple times throughout the pandemic with no communication and refuse to reimburse the charges.

Outside of that, the customer service is poor. They will try to upsell you every time you go to workout on the personal training and they have limited the smaller equipment for personal training use only.

Support a small business- they will actually care about your fitness.
