The walkways at the Culver City branch (Overland Ave.) are confusing due to the number of floors and there are no signs. Neither for the locker rooms nor for the pool.

Great gym! I joined the gym 8 months ago, especially because they have a Reformer Pilates classes and the classes are more affordable than a Pilates club. The Pilates instructors are great, my favorite are Monica and Brenda.

The gym is really nice and clean.

The employees are very friendly and pleasant especially Daisy, she is polite, very professional and always with a smile.

The facility looks updated and has some amenities like pool, spin room, rec room, which I’ve used. A criticism I have is that the facility gets very warm and stuffy when it’s busy, but the staff seem reluctant to adjust the temperature controls. It can get uncomfortable to exercise in these conditions.

AC is a major problem here. If you don’t like heat, humidity and mold stay away from here. Unless they want to end up with someone getting a heat exhaustion and dying, they better fix the AC temperature. It’s like a sauna. This is not a right way to save money. My 74 year old mother signed up with the best intentions, but then suffered a serious medical injury which left her unable to walk, in a hospital and still getting billed for their services and a private trainer. Her husband has made every call possible in between going to the hospital and still no one can cancel. This is not the place you want to exercise, get healthy or receive personal training because THEY DO NOT TREAT YOU AS A PERSON! Do yourself a favor, and talk to your family about these predatory business practices that are draining money from an elderly woman's bank account despite numerous attempts. Seriously go anywhere else but here. Sadly, I wonder how they can sleep at night. Please be more cautious than we were.

While the facility is very nice, I was disappointed as last Sunday not even a single shower had body wash. We are paying for a service, but this management is neglecting to ensure that the showers have the required personal care items. Hopefully, the management can correct this neglect.

Clean gym with plenty of equipment. I love that they have a good amount of cardio machines.
I bought some personal training sessions here. They have a high turnover rate for the trainers. I literally had 3 different trainers before ending up with Kathy.
Honestly I'm glad because she is amazingly knowledgeable and makes sure that I have good form.
She explains the workouts in an easy way.
I have only had 4 sessions with her so far but already I am seeing and feeling the difference.
She is the most dependable trainer there.

I tried to do a guest pass here with 2 other people. We came in 2 times to sign up for the pass and spoke to people at the desk who insisted they either didn’t know or couldn’t help us. Finally on the third time going in we were able to sign up for our guest passes and (gave ourselves) a tour of the building & planned to come workout the following day. The next day we received a voicemail telling us our passes were not set up correctly and we needed to come in to correct it. Upon sitting at a desk with the (manager?) named daisy she informed us that guests under the age of 18 need to have a parent signature even though we had explicitly asked the day before if this was needed & being told any adult could sign for me. We were forced to leave the gym and find somewhere else to workout. STILL determined to try out the gym I returned with my mom the next day to finalize my pass. We were sat waiting for 20 minutes while Daisy was on a phone call and couldn’t help us. The front desk still insisted they didn’t know how to provide the waiver. After 20 minutes of waiting we ran out of time we could spend waiting around and left. How many chances must your customers TRY to give you business before you work with them? For us it was 5 times before we felt forced to give up for lack of care from the staff here. This seems like a nice facility with very poorly trained customer service staff.

Hours are frustrating. I'm a night owl and they close at 8 pm on weekends.

Cancelling service is nearly impossible. You will probably have to cancel your card.

I met with the manager to get my account paid up, and then I got flagged every day I came in. They always "leave a note for the manager." It's been like that for the last 20 days. He never calls. I just got denied access today to get in.

The machines have torn leather.

Overall I could overlook everything else if it weren't for the membership issues. Maybe leaving this review will actually make the manager call me back.

It was the best cycling class I've ever attended. Amy, the trainer, was perfect!👍 Everyone loved it; we wish we could have her more often.I love the Pilates class too. Sophia, the trainer, is so nice and caring. However, I wish they would open the original Pilates class. They have a couple of unused rooms which is a waste. Manager Ben was always very helpful. And also, I wish the kids' club wouldn't close in the afternoon because sometimes you need to go at that time.

Overall nice and friendly staff. But several equipments are ripped and never repaired. No proper gym wipes, only the really thin and cheep ones, not sanitary.
In my point of view, the worst is that they only open at 8am on the weekends and week days at 5am, that’s a huge gap! im an early bird and that ruins all my weekend plans. I tried talking to someone and got nowhere, so hopefully this review gets some corporate attention.

This place has called me three times a week for three weeks straight even though at no point have I ever personally given them my phone number. When my partner signed up, they asked him to give them the number of who would be most likely to use his guest pass (even though their policy is to allow a different guest every time you go, no limits per guest, included in membership price... so there's absolutely no reason to give them another phone number...it doesn't matter who you bring).

He did not want to put any number on his account besides his own for privacy reasons and the woman who signed him up specifically told him they would never ever call this other person; they just wanted to know who would be most likely to accompany him (very strange and obviously untrue).
Since then, they have called me almost 10 times, half of which have been calls where I pick up and they immediately hang up the phone on me.
It's extremely weird. Finally, when they didn't hang up, I told them to stop calling me please and they said they'd "remove my number" from their list. My partner was specifically told they would never call any number besides his, since he's the only one with an actual membership... It's a complete invasion of privacy to be calling someone who isn't a member three nights a week.
Also, all of these calls happened around 8:00/ 9:00 at night, way past normal work hours.
Really inappropriate and so annoying. Very glad my current gym doesn't act like this. Wasn't really interested in LA Fitness before and now I never will be.

Before the pandemic this place was an example of a gym that had it all. A facility that was well kept and clean, had newer, well maintained equipment and most everything you would need for a good workout. Unfortunately, recently, it has descended into a fairly filthy place. The bathrooms are absolutely unbearable and the showers have a veritable petrie dish of slime and bacteria growing on them. I have asked management twice to do something about it and my pleas are ignored. Better to find another gym.

I just realized I have been charged $49.00 per month by LA Fitness for a membership I canceled nearly 3 years ago. The only reason I noticed the erroneous charge yesterday was because they charged me twice this month. I spoke to a young lady at the Newberry park club Saturday 4/30 who assured me the manager (Sarah) would call me Monday ... today. Didn't hear from Sarah today. Just called the club again and was assured by another young lady (Joanna) that Sarah would call me tomorrow ... Tuesday. I want my membership canceled and my Money Refunded. So far, we can say it was just an oversight. With COVD and all, I'm sure my original cancelation just got overlooked. I'll let the internet know how this turns out.

I called trying to cancel my membership when the gyms opened after covid because my financial situation had changed, the person I spoke to suggested I freeze my account and told me that for 3 months I wouldn't have to pay. 3 days later I have a charge on my account. When I called, first I was hung up on twice, then i asked why, they told me I had canceled to close to my monthly fee, that I needed to do it 10 days before. not only had the gyms JUST opened but the person I spoke to did not say anything about it even though I had told him I no longer had a job and couldn't pay.
