I was in town for 10 days and trained here, and every staff member I encountered was incredibly nice and supportive! The gym is super clean, has great machines, and I 100% recommend it. Very satisfied!

I don’t usually post negative reviews but the worker with the blonde tips who looks like Druski is incredibly rude, just no customer service whatsoever…He routinely stares at you like he’s lost and when you ask him a question he gives short, blunt answers like he’s miserable to be working here. Please work on your customer service

Great facility. No scale in men's locker room, which is half the size it should be. Hardly any room to sit down in locker room to put on shoes. Well trained staff

Unfortunately, this location has become extremely overcrowded, with disorganized weights and limited equipment availability even during off-peak hours.
The facilities are decent, but the lack of cleanliness and supervision makes workouts unnecessarily frustrating. I hope management takes this feedback seriously — members deserve a better experience.

Let’s start with the good…. I’ve been going to this gym since it opened around 4 years ago so it’s not as run down as other clubs. High ceilings makes it feel spacious and airy. Sadly the giant ceiling fans were replaced with just 3 tiny ones upstairs where all the sun comes in, so both levels are not as cool as they once were.
The showers are great. Good water pressure and your able to get a hot shower during winter.
There’s a very large selection of equipment that’s still relatively new and not beat up. Don’t have expectations of finding your free-weights as members are the same here as everywhere else… you’ll be spending time searching the club for the matching weights. The club does not reinforce good habits over the loudspeaker like other LA Fitness.
The most problematic issue with this gym is, sometime in the beginning of this year, the music volume went way up that you can’t hear your own music so your stuck listening to various pop music mixed with what you’re listening to. It was never like that before. We all have our own taste that’s why every gym I’ve been to (many) the music has always been more in the background so that all members can hear whatever inspires their workout through their own earbuds/headphones. Other members have agreed and mentioned it to the front desk with no success. I’ve talked with the manager a couple of months ago and she explained the volume is on automatic sensor and agreed to have it checked, but it’s still the same. So when inserting your earbuds…PUMP UP THE VOLUME!!😅

My first time at this location. The girls in the front are really rude!! They should not be in the front they change the atmosphere!! I'm sure this is not the first complaint about their attitude!! The gym is clean and it has updated equipment! The young girls need to be somewhere else where their nasty attitudes can be appreciated.

No air conditioner!! For a year! Machines are broken! No paper towels... I literally heard the manager a few years ago say that we didn't deserve them and to remove them! Crazy!!!!! You guys must fix the air conditioning problem its important for hygiene, the building will create mold, This is just a level of unconsciousness!

A 3 lane pool that can easily be full. Sometimes, there are people in the lap lanes who aren't really swimming, but overall it hasn't been too off-putting. But now, there is only parking validation for the first hour. After that, you have to pay for parking.

I honestly used to go so hard for this gym. I truly loved it, but I don’t think I’ll be back which actually kind of sucks because it’s gone down. The staff is not very friendly, there’s always men who jump out of the hot tub soaking wet and bring all of the water into the sauna which wouldn’t be too big of an issue if it was actually cleaned. I’ve noticed lately that a lot of the equipment does not work, the elevators don’t work either. There were about three or four treadmills broken today and two machines that I wanted to use that were also broken. I have an ankle injury and it’s hard for me to go up and down the stairs, but the elevator has been down for over a week which I know for a fact, there are a few people there with wheelchairs, and I highly doubt they would be able to access the top floor.
Today they escalated a situation that was so unnecessary, embarrassed me in front of the entire lobby, and a lot of their staff. I come to the gym, keep my headphones in, I’m respectful and I go home. It’s honestly already hard enough to be in the gym everyone wants it to be a safe place.
I’ve been going there for almost 2 years now and I have literally never spoken to any of the staff and they haven’t gone out of their way to really speak to me either even though I’m there almost every single day. Until today when they approached me because a trainer badgered me and then tattled on me after he didn’t like the time that I gave him for a machine I was using. As if’s in my contract to be on it less than three minutes.
I work in customer service and would never deal with any type of customer situation like that. Especially if I want people to continue coming back.

It’s really their sales/membership team that SUUUUUCKZ. The front desk staff are very sweet but the people at those little desks off to the side who want to scam you?? YIKESS.
First off their 3 day guest pass is false lol. If you sign up you won’t get it for 24 hours and then after that it isn’t “activated” (their way of making you have a sales meeting BEFORE EVER JOINING THWUR GYM)
I signed up with a guest pass yesterday and was t told that but the woman at the front was AMAZING and let me go work out anyways.
So today I came in 20 minutes before a group class that was supposed to start at 5:45. I told the girl who was working at the front desk that TODAY and she said “oh don’t worry it’ll only take like 5 minutes just have a seat there and they’ll scan your phone and you’ll be good to go and make it to your class”
FALSE LOL. The car salesmen of their gym pulled me over and said I would have to have a minimum 20 minute meeting with them to go over pricing and then do a tour of the full gym (IVE BEEN THERE BEFORE SMARTIES) before I could “have my guest pass activated” they also said if I wanted to go to the class I would have to PAY FOR THE DAY EVEN THOUGH I HAVE A GUEST PASS.
They said “well aren’t you interested in a membership” I said “well yes but I’m not going to pay for a membership until I know if I like what you offer” and they said “right so you have to have this meeting”
?????
Idk if their guys just aren’t good at sales, or have no customer service skills, or if they’re just not the brightest but whomever trained them should probably redo it and let them know that when you ARENT A SLIMY HUMAN you’re more likely to get people who want to come to your gym! Hope this helps!!!

LA Fitness has the potential to be a decent gym, but the lack of basic maintenance and cleanliness really drags down the experience. The locker room is consistently wet and grimy, with lockers dirty enough that I feel the need to hang my bag to avoid contact. The showers are in even worse condition—black mold growing in the grout, stained or missing shower curtains, and an overall sense that they haven't been properly cleaned in months.
While most machines are functional, the rowing machine upstairs has been broken for over two months despite multiple reports to the front desk. Hygiene is a serious issue—there’s only one wipe dispenser on the upper floor, and it's often empty. Combine that with a total lack of enforcement around gym shoes in the spa area, and it feels like a breeding ground for skin infections. Staff seem far more focused on closing memberships than actually managing the facility. It’s frustrating, because with some accountability and attention to upkeep, this gym could be solid.

Very bad customer service !! The guy with the blond colored hair was just telling his employees not to ask each other questions that were work-related and just walking from one end to the other with his fake Joker smile. He left me sitting at his desk after I asked him some questions about a guest pass. I ended up at the LA fitness on Victory & Ethel where they treated me with respect and they took their time to explain my options. Which is way different than how i was treated at this LA Fitness. The whole staff seems clueless but I think its because of that blond-haired Joker smile guy because you could tell he was supposedly managing. Believe me with that guy managing that gym you're going to lose a lot of new potential members. He himself is clue less of what hes doing. What a joke!

I like this gym...the only issues I have seen are no ventilation/AC (in one area by the chest fly machines it smelled so bad of BO I almost puked), and they don't enforce cleaning equipment. But the staff is nice and I like the fact that the cardio machines are separate from the strength training stuff. But seriously get the AC and ventilation fixed, or there will be a mold and mildew breakout, not to mention air borne illnesses running rapid.

[May 2025 Update]
... and now they're too cheap to run the AC.
There's no reason for the gym to feel in the low 80°'s when it's 8:30a.
Just go to the Victory location, this place is cooked... literally.
From a 2 ⭐️ to a 1 ⭐️. (All of the prior issues still remain, btw)
If it weren't 2 minutes from my house, I wouldn't be going.
---------
This gym had/has promise, but it really misses the mark.
Pros:
• Things are kept clean enough as could be expected.
• There is ample parking with just a very short walk.
• Since it is still new-ish at the time of writing, most machines are still in good condition.
Cons:
• The machines that are not in good condition can stay broken for up to a month. Even past that, they may be left with missing attachments, weight adjustments, etc.
• It looks like a large gym from outside, but with the amount of folks that go to this gym, it is really constrained. There is less variety than some of the other gyms in the area, and the amount of equipment is too low for the demand.
• Off the above point, expect to wait for the equipment that you want, unless you catch an off hour. (I recommend going when school is in session, because when it's not you get a whole nother factor added).
• Expect a semi-frequent encounter with a gym bro or influencer that doesn't understand gym etiquette. I won't go into detail - you will soon know exactly what I mean if you haven't encountered it before.
• Some of the front desk staff is nice and friendly. The rest of the staff tends to have an attitude.
The best LA Fitnesses in the area are Porter Ranch & Agoura Hills. More courteous populace, more equipment, more space... but far unless you're in the area.

All I can say that it supposed to be one of the best but it’s one of the worst. Crowded, people with metal problems all over who don’t like to share with the equipment instead of just sitting and starring their phones. Broker equipments all the time. 2 smith machines and inky for couple of girls that are using it all the time. And nobody can come closer even to it. Pool is horrible. Smells like I am sitting a chlorox box. . About good things I would say friendly employees and the view. That’s it. No bar with beverages . I am thinking to change my place soon.

The vents have not been working for more than three weeks already. It feels like 100 degrees inside. Emergency came the other day to some guy. No wonder why. You can faint here. There is no fresh air and there is no oxygen at all. They don’t ventilate the premises. The atmosphere is very bad for the health in general. They allow too many people to come in. When it comes to payment it needs to be sharp but when it comes to fixing vents it can wait.

Extremely unprofessional staff behavior – disappointing experience.
I’ve been going to this gym for a while now, and up until recently, I’ve never had a serious issue. But a recent experience with one of the staff members, Destiny Douglas, really changed that.
I was in the sauna wearing shoes—my mistake, I didn’t notice the sign. But instead of politely letting me know, Destiny came in with a sarcastic and hostile attitude. She pointed at the sign like I was a child and spoke to me in a mocking, unprofessional way in front of others. When I calmly told her she didn’t need to come at me like that, she got confrontational and said, “I don’t want to get started with you,” which felt completely unnecessary.
Later, I came back with open-toe Nike slides—still within the rules—and she found another reason to confront me. At that point, it felt personal, not about policy.
People pay to work out here—not to be disrespected or treated like a problem for minor issues. There’s a way to enforce rules without being rude. I hope management addresses this, because no one should have to deal with that kind of energy when they’re just trying to get their workout in.

Just a word of advice. If you are looking to stop in to check out their membership prices LOOK ONLINE FIRST and show up equipped with knowledge. They treat selling like a car dealer does. Not necessarily bad just giving a heads up.

Good gym, I enjoy the equipment and atmosphere — that’s what one star was added for.
However, the trainers are entitled and rude. They take away your equipment and then fight with you for it, when you say it was used by you before they came. They supposed to stay only in training zones and in yoga/aerobics room, but they don’t. It very much makes training experience ruined. Specifically, trainer Alexandra invaded my personal space and yelled at me for trying to take the step platform, which is supposed to be for public use. (There were dozens of unused ones)

THEY DO NOT TAKE THEFT SERIOUSLY! :D
Seriously! The management at NoHo La Fitness love to keep their seats warm and hate to do their work! If you are looking for incompetent, clueless and useless leaders-you’re at the right place!
Unfortunately, my lock was broken into and my entire purse was stolen. After reporting to the front desk, I requested to speak with management and they avoided to speak with me at first.
The staff love to be noisy but lack initiative to resolve issues involving safety. Unfortunately, they have many cameras in their facility BUT DON’T HAVE ACCESS TO THEM!
They couldn’t care less about their members’ safety and satisfaction. DON’T LET CONVINCE YOU OTHERWISE. They just want to meet their monthly quota. ;)

I used to go to this gym when I had Active and Fit. Active and Fit is a program where you get multiple gym memberships which was covered by my insurance and I had no issues, I liked everything about this gym location is great and it’s a nice gym my issue is after Active and Fit stopped partnering with LA Fitness and I had to get my membership there directly. Right before Christmas I went in with the free day pass since I already was previously going to that gym and liked it. So after they signed me up with the day pass they sat me down and talked to me about pricing and they were being pretty pushy trying to get me to get the membership which I didn’t like and I kept saying next time I come in since I still had Christmas shopping to do. He was not really taking no for an answer and said if I didn’t like it he’ll give me my money back after the workout so I finally gave in because they weren’t taking my no for an answer and gave them my last $100 cash since I was thinking okay if I don’t like it they’ll give it back.. WRONG okay so the plan he signed me up for was $40 a month so I thought I would be paying $40 today, they said they didn’t have change for cash so it would be used as credit towards my next months payment which I didn’t like either so I was iffy and again said “No it’s okay, next time” and again he wouldn’t take my no for answer and kept insisting I get this membership today since pricing will go up really high to over $100 a month and said again if I didn’t like it I could get my money back. I finally agreed just so I could start my workout and he said okay so it will be $80 today and the additional $20 will be used towards next months payment so I just said yes sure since he said if I didn’t like it I could get my money back. After my workout I decided yeah I’m not gonna get a membership there after all since I didn’t like the way they were being pushy and I did still have Christmas shopping to do so I went to the desk to ask for my $100 that I paid with an hour prior and they told me they didn’t have my money and they already deposited it to the bank and if I did want my money back that I would have to wait 3 weeks.. that’s so crazy because I had given it to them not even an hour before. I came in just for the day pass and ended up leaving spending $100 I couldn’t get back CRAZY.

I’ve been a member for two months, and the pool has only been ‘warm’ once. The main reason we signed up was to swim during the winter, but the temperature has been consistently disappointing. Another issue is the constant filming and selfies in the women’s locker room, which is an intimate space where adults are fully exposed. If this were happening in a family-oriented gym, it would be addressed immediately. We’ve raised these concerns with staff, but nothing has changed.

Disappointing Experience at This Gym
I’ve been a member here for a while, but I’m seriously reconsidering. The biggest issue is the lack of gym etiquette among members. People hog machines for long periods, just sitting on their phones, completely ignoring the fact that others are waiting. It’s incredibly frustrating and makes the workout experience unnecessarily stressful.
On top of that, the gym is always overcrowded. It feels like there’s no limit on the number of people allowed inside, making it nearly impossible to complete a workout without wasting tons of time waiting for equipment.
If you’re looking for an efficient workout experience, this gym is not the place. Management really needs to address these issues.

This location is like Disney Land—you spend the bulk of your time waiting and waiting and waiting. When it isn’t packed to the gills, which is most of the time, it’s a great new space with new machines. I would love to workout here, but it just isn’t doable. There’re too many people—it’s too much of a scene. Instead, I go to another LA fitness that’s muuuuuch smaller, with machines that were new 30 years ago, but at least I can workout within a reasonable amount of time. Oh well.

I have severe ptsd from this place. After only a couple of month of membership, I used the sauna maybe 4 times, 2 of which a fight broke inside the sauna.
I am just coming out of a foot surgery, and I was injured during the first fight, as it happened right next to me. The second time, again, 2 man fighting about politics.
when I voiced my frustration to the front desk, I was even treated badly from them. I cancelled my membership immediately.
I am a woman, and don’t feel safe stepping into a sauna full of man, knowing that a fight might break any second. I go to the gym to relax and mind my business. Not to see people fight. This place has a lot of bad energy. Even tho my membership is still active for a month I will not step again in this place. And the front desk guy, is extremely rude.

For a newer gym, you'd expect things to be a little nicer. It didn't take long at all for things to start breaking. It always takes a good while for machines, lockers, and things to get fixed. The staff only cares about signing folks up, not maintaining any sort of order in the gym. I've seen folks working out barefoot, dogs on treadmills, and the number of folks working out videoing themselves is gross. Also, folks just playing music or watching videos no headphones like they are the only person in the world... I think a no phones policy would greatly benefit this gym. And again, the staff just cracks jokes and sits in their cubicles. On top of tgat they never oil their machines... they are all sticking band making workouts very dificult.

Doesn’t deserve a 2 but definitely doesn’t deserve a 3 either. There’s a severe lack of floor space designated to stretching/floor workouts. They have a swimming pool, sauna, and steam room yet they offer no towel service nor do they even have towels for sale. To make matters worse, the steam room and sauna are co-ed. Lastly, in the entire building they have a total of 4 squat racks, that’s it, 4. They should have just put a planet fitness if they wanted a gym barely worth $10/month.

Came here on a guest pass. Was told to wait on couch for salesperson. After 35 minutes waiting, a person comes and asks if I’m waiting for them and informed me no one notified them. I did see sales people chatting seated on couches near me, but didn’t want to assume and figured maybe they could be on break and that reception had it covered. But no just was wasting my time for no reason. All they needed was to check my ID and offer a tour. That was super frustrating, but worse I was stretching after workout and the Zumba teacher stops the whole class to kick me out. It was a huge room, I was in a back corner quietly stretching. I said that I was sorry I just had felt uncomfortable stretching in front of men out there because there’s no other spaces too, but she went full mean girl style ordering me to exit room w the whole class looking. I wasn’t necessarily trying or asking to stay, just more so explaining why I was there because it was like I was being scolded for being in the corner of this huge dance studio and I didn’t know the rules yet. I’ve done that at other gyms and it wasn’t a big deal, I felt like the ladies kind of understood I was looking for a private space. I left feeling super uncomfortable in that moment. I could understand if I was some creep ogling the girls in Zumba, which it seems that rule is in place for, but to not share the room with another woman clearly focused on stretching was just mean-spirited. Even if it’s just policy, I’m fine honoring that but it’s never cool to make someone feel as if they’ve done something wrong when they didn’t know especially it being my first day there ever, and my first day working out in a very long time. It took me a lot to get here and the last thing I expected was fitness teachers being mean to me :( The vibes here are off. I left feeling extremely unwelcome and discouraged by this gym. As much as I wanted to like it, I’m never coming back here. My search for a safe space to work out in LA continues : /

DO NOT COME to this gym…. It’s incredibly sad and disappointing that my first impression of this place was so negative, unpleasant and a bit rude 🤢.
I moved to the area, and while my apartment has a nice gym, I wanted to check out LA Fitness using their 3-day trial. However, when I arrived, the Latino guy working the night shift at the entrance refused me entry, even after I showed him the email confirmation and the QR code that LA Fitness sent me online, he even didn’t let me scan my QR and asked for $20 USD in order to let me in.
So, what’s the point of the trial? Buying a package before testing the gym? 🤦… I’m never coming back and will be sharing this experience with another friends that wanted to try it, just little things like this completely ruin the experience don’t want to imagine how they manage the place 🙄

Great location but the pool / sauna is such a disappointment! They have separate dressing rooms, but the sauna is co-ed. As soon as you step out into the co-ed area of the pool/ sauna, it reeks of bad odor and chlorine. There's always a bunch older men just hanging around the area chit chatting like they are out drinking coffee with their friends, and they just stare at you. So uncomfortable for a woman who just wants to get a good swim in, go into the hot tub/ sauna. There is almost no separation between the men/ woman locker rooms as the doors are right next to each other. Who had the idea to design such a mess of an area?

I went in to activate a guest pass and potentially activate my corporate rates. The front desk staff instructed me to sit in the waiting area and wait for a sales representative. Despite there being four sales representatives sitting at empty desks, I had to wait for nearly 15 minutes. When I approached the front desk to ask if this would take much longer, the staff member assured me she would check, but she continued to type without actually doing so. After waiting for 20 minutes, with sales representatives visibly available, I decided to leave. This experience was disappointing and not worth the time or effort. You literally have one job, and that’s to sell a gym membership. Be better!

There have been uncontrolled theft in the gym, perhaps for quite a while. My phone was deliberately stolen. I left it for a short moment at the training station. Some individual waited to pick it up. Then he left the gym and turned off tracking. It happened on July 29, around 8 o'clock in the evening. At the same time it was an attempt to steal my bag also at the bike station. The receptionist who works at the evening time is unfriendly and deliberately not helpful. They are good to sell membership but not enforce safety from the theft.
It looks that individuals or a group are hunting for cell phones and other belongings.
It does not seem that the management is concern. I want a full refund for a recently purchased membership and a compensation for the stolen cell phone.

I’m honestly so disappointed in everything from their employees to their gym. To begin with I wanted to switch gyms so I have started a 3 day trial. I received both a email with the barcode and text message I read all the terms and conditions and even the restrictions and nothing described that I couldn’t use the 3 day trial that very same day. I called ahead of time so I wouldn’t have to waste gas and time just to be told NO, into getting in. So I had called in advice and asked if I could walk in with the email I got that asked me to show to the front desk or if I had to respond to the text message to schedule an appointment. The employee clearly told me as long as I had that email I was set to go. As soon as I get there I’m greeted and as soon as I showed her my email and was told that I had to wait a day to be able to use it, and then they kept trying to convince me to buy a once day pass for 20$. I’m honestly completely upset with the lack of communication and awareness of everything especially since I had called ahead of time so I would avoid any problems. As soon as I went, it was also very crowded and super small all the machines were either taken or mainly broken . The way they built this especially for it to be so new I would of expected a way better job for more machines and equipment.I would honestly recommend any other gym or location but NoHowest was not it . Will never recommend this place especially for people that want to to start their work out journey or for someone trying to find that comfortable judgement free space this is NOT it.

WORST LOCATION
I wish I could give negative stars for this location, but I'll give them one star for the clean facility. I've been with LA Fitness for a while and have visited several different locations, but I have to say the staff at this one are extremely rude and unprofessional, especially the manager, Marcus.
I brought a friend as a VIP guest, She was given an unnecessary 45-minute tour, and repeatedly pitched a membership by the staff, under the impression she could use the facility afterward. Only to be told by management that my VIP pass should have been reserved 24 hours in advance (a policy I was never informed of and never had an issue with at any other facility since I joined). The demeanor of the management seemed extreme for no reason.
I don't know if Marcus has a work crush on the employee who was “taking too long” with my friend, but the way he spoke to us was unacceptable. It felt like he was trying to get us to leave the facility from the minute he started addressing me. Keep in mind I only went back to the front to find my friend because she was taking so long. There was no issue or argument leading up to this. The management is definitely not up to the standards of the other locations.

I've been a member at LA Fitness for many years and I LOVE the new NoHo West location. Alex the manager is so personable and outgoing and makes anyone who walks through the door feel important. A few months ago I had some friends interested in checking out the gym. They were a little hesitant about taking a tour for fear of being pressured into joining if they weren't interested. I reassured them and told them to ask for Alex. He of course put them at ease immediately with his warm demeanor and non overly aggressive sales approach. In the end, they loved the gym, loved Alex and signed up that day!
Alex is amazing and the entire staff there is as well. It has become the only gym I care to train at now and I highly recommend!

The facility is nice and has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. As someone with a connective tissue disorder and who is recovering from surgery, I have to be careful how much weight I lift. And nearly every time I go to any machine the weights are never reracked. I simply can’t rerack 400 lbs of weights before I do my exercises.
People never use the wipes to clean their machines, weights are all over the place not where they belong so it’s hard to find what you’re looking for, and machines are loaded to the max with weights when you get to them. People here are inconsiderate. And it is a ripple effect. When the gym first opened it was nice and people respected the space but that quickly changed.
Plus the sauna and steam room are co-ed AKA full of men half dressed and myself and my other female friends avoid them because they are always full. I never see women in there.
I wish management would enforce people reracking weights and would put everything back where it belonged to start each am so hopefully this gym can be saved. It’s not too late.
And reminder to everyone reading this: just because you can lift the weight you put up doesn’t mean the next person can. For so many reasons please help make the gym welcoming by reracking your weights.

I’ve been going to local gyms since Golds first opened in north hollywood thirty plus yrs ago. Never have I been as uncomfortable nor met as many rude employees as I have at this location. There’s a condescending manager I’ve had encounters with who is dismissive of valid complaints (there was a slippery floor in the women’s changing room upon which a woman had slipped and fallen upon). This man took it personal and blew me off. The schedule of time at this gym for the sauna and spa areas changes daily based upon how quickly they all want to go home at night. They chase members out of the pool, sauna and steam room up to an hour before the gym closes by using the excuse that they have to clean up before going home. Yet morning members have complained when they’ve entered the sauna that it’s still slimy from the night before. I’ve called the other LA fitness centers who told me they allow their members to maximize the facility and that they do all the clean up once it’s closed for the night.
One of the workers at this noho location posted a confusing sign on the sauna door. It’s a “no shoes allowed” picture/sign, therefore, the members enter the sauna shoeless yet get yelled at by staffers. Apparently, the sign which indicates “no shoes” means, “you can’t enter the sauna without wearing shoes!” A complete contradiction to their posted sign.
I rest my case.
This gym needs better structure and consistent procedures; a non-arrogant manager and should follow the examples set by the other LA Fitness centers nearby.
