I was a member for a little over two months. The staff I interacted with were always great, so this is not about them. I ended up canceling my membership because the gym is consistently overcrowded. I frequently had to wait for machines, and the space has a persistent odor that never really goes away.
There isn’t enough airflow or staffing to handle how many people use the gym. The parking situation is tough, and working out near the windows feels uncomfortably hot.
Yesterday was the last straw—while warming up, the smell coming from the floor was overwhelming. We left and went straight to the Bay Club. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.

The swimming pool is the main reason I come to this location, and I’ve visited many times because I really enjoy it. However, although my LA Fitness membership is nationwide and swimming pool reservations are supposed to be free, the mobile app no longer allows me to book a lane at this location due to my Pilates membership being registered elsewhere of LA Fitness.
The front desk told me that every time I want to swim, I have to wait until someone with a reservation doesn’t show up, and then I can take that spot. This essentially makes me a “backup,” even though I am a fully eligible nationwide member. Wouldn’t it be more reasonable for the technical team to fix the app issue instead of putting the burden on members?
Additionally, after finishing my workout, I sat near the front desk for about ten minutes while waiting for my husband and working on my laptop. A staff member came over and told me that I couldn’t sit there because I’m not an employee. This left me wondering: is this really how LA Fitness handles member concerns—with inflexibility and no proactive effort to solve problems?

The gym is extremely disappointing. I really wouldn’t recommend coming here, especially if you’re driving. Parking is a serious problem — some guys outside try to direct cars, take your keys, and the whole process feels very unprofessional. Overall, the experience was terrible. This is honestly one of the worst fitness centers I’ve ever visited. I strongly recommend avoiding it.

Off putting interaction to say the least. Such terrible customer service from Maria and Kevin (but mainly Maria) that Im at the gym writing this review. My boyfriend recently joined this gym and we’ve been wanting to work out together so I came to see the gym layout. Immediately upon walking in we were not greeted. My boyfriend explained that he wanted to see about getting me a day pass and Maria asked if I had a membership at LA fitness and I said yes and she immediately said I didn’t qualify for a day pass. I asked her to look because I hadn’t had a membership (at another location) in over 6 years. She asked for my number and immediately said my phone number has an account already. I asked my boyfriend if he put my number on his account and he said no and then she looked into it more and saw that it was just my number down as my bf’s emergency contact. In addition to constantly trying to find any reason as to why I couldn’t get a day pass she had a horrible attitude for what, I’m not sure. I expressed to my bf that I would not be getting a membership at this gym based on this experience alone. While doing this you hear Maria and Kevin welcoming people in as they open the door. I expressed how unpleasant my interaction had been with the both of them. No apology or nothing. Maria, to be that rude to people (never mind customers) but people you've never met is wild. Do better.

Gym is always overcrowded there is always a wait for weight machines. Hardly any grip bars for cable-pulley machines. Often not even enough mats for stretching. Parking is horrible, they stack cars, so you have to give keys to valet; parking time is limited so if you wait for all the machines to do your full workout you can easily be over time and have to pay to get out. Workout and sauna-shower, you’re overtime. Very limited street parking.

For how busy this gym is, surprisingly it was easy to get a full workout in during peak hours. The staff is very efficient and the parking is abundant. The only difficult thing about this location is getting into the parking structure.

Best gym for the price in LA! I used to be a member at equinox and actually prefer this place for the price and what they offer is better in my opinion. The staff are all super friendly and very welcoming. They have really good management here as this place is always on top of everything, weights are always in place, everything is clean and maintained. I’m really happy with this gym. More than enough machines, 4 benches for bench press and a few more for incline and decline. I prefer this to all of the other LA fitnesses in LA and would tie it with the Huntington Beach LA Fitness which I also like. The place is clean and the natural lighting from the floor to ceiling windows really makes it. The outdoor basketball courts and pool are also a bonus & they even have EV chargers in the lot. All around the best bang for the buck in my opinion.

I signed up for the free 3-day pass, but when I arrived at the gym, the front desk told me the promotion was only available to California residents. I don’t have an issue with that, but it would’ve been helpful if that information was included in the main email (see below) sent with the pass. Then I offered to pay the $20 day fee, but they didn’t accept contactless payment. Overall, this could’ve been avoided with clearer information on the website. I ended up leaving and going to another gym.

Crowded and stinky but gets the job done for the price. Crappy matrix machines but members respect the space (except for when people steal attachments to the cable machine). Lots of lighting, but suffers from cramped space and low ceilings. This review is for the regular gym area. I don't take classes or use the pool and volleyball court. Parking situation is bad but they do the best they can with the attendants.
It's really a small corporate-building gym that they converted into a commercial gym. It doesn't feel like it was meant for the amount of people that come.
I have never gone to a gym that had so many people not be mindful of basic hygiene and smell. There's times when the entire dumbbell area smelled so strong of body odor, piss, or strong perfume that I just skipped my dumbbell workout altogether. That area really needs a fan or something. Last night the stretching/turf area just smelled like straight feet and body odor. Lo and behold some guy there was stretching with his shoes off but who knows where the smell came from? I just know in all my life of dozens of gym I've been to I never dealt with so many stinky people as I have at this gym. The low ceilings and mediocre ventilation doesn't help either.
I can tell the management really tried to make the best use of the space possible but the space is just small and tight for the amount of people. The low ceilings really don't help either but there's nice wall to wall windows that lets in a lot of natural lighting.
There's 8 power racks which is convenient and clearly built to please people follow the barbell lifting meme. And unfortunately there are people out there who need to hog a squat rack for an hour so thus spawned the need for gyms to have more of them, but it's such valuable floor estate that could have held more machines.
As far as the social atmosphere: I think the claustrophobic and overcrowded atmosphere makes it uncomfortable to socialize because people can't get their own space to let their guard down and relax. There's always someone waiting for you to finish or vice-versa.
For the most part everyone is very respectful and courteous, but it's not a very social gym. There are regulars that chat with each other, but you have highschoolers that show up in groups and take up a lot of space on the floor. Everyone is just trying to hurry up and get their workout in and leave. It's not much of a hangout spot for the adult members but I imagine maybe the jacuzzi or pool area might be more kickback, I just don't use it.
The staff is alright but one guy trips a little too much about people using the "personal training clients only" area even when it's 10:30 at night and obviously no one is training. But I get it he's just doing his job; it just would be nice to have some hours where no one cares and we can use it. But I get that it's a selling point for people to pay extra and have their own area.
They really just need to expand the gym and add another floor or something and gut the ceiling so there's better air circulation. It's just too bad they keep the nice equipment like the trap bar, nordic curl, calf wedge, step-up stool, and jump box off limits for regular members.
Locker room area could use an update. Usually has a bad commercial gym stench. There's some homeless that come. Urinals are in a weird position. Water fountain doesn't get cold. My rating is based on a world where Equinox, Bay Club, and nicer private gyms exist.

One of the best gyms I’ve ever been to, not just among LA Fitness locations. I’ve been a member here for over two years now and really enjoy the facilities. The highlight for me is definitely the outdoor heated pool — it has eight lanes and is very popular, and you need to reserve your lane in advance. The system works through the app (currently 25 hours before your preferred time slot, though the rules do change from time to time).
There is also outdoor basketball and beach volleyball courts, a spacious Jacuzzi, and well-kept indoor facilities. Everything is kept very tidy, even if it’s not the most spacious gym, and I really appreciate how on the top of every hour the staff share a message reminding members about gym culture. It helps keep the environment respectful and organized.
The garage attendants do a fantastic job managing parking despite the crowds, and Prince, the manager, does a great job running the place. And I love the classes.
The gym is extremely popular, so it can feel crowded, and parking can still be chaotic. Repairs also sometimes take longer than expected: for example, the Jacuzzi is often down due to misuse (lotions and oils causing foaming), and recently the elevators were out for over a week.
I do wish they would cap new memberships or limit daily entrance, as parking and working out can feel overwhelming during peak hours (especially mornings or after 4:30 pm). Funny enough, my 5-star review probably isn’t helping with that 🙂

Ever since they remodeled maybe 5 or 6 months ago it’s to busy to get any kind of workout done.
I used to really enjoy this place, now It’s packed from 230 pm until they close. It’s hard to get any equipment at 8pm at night. I think I’m going to have to find another place to work out. The place is nice but if you can’t use the equipment how good is the facility?

Parking at this location is a shit show, The parking attendants are usually pretty nice, but sometimes are pretty rude and pushy… They only validate for 2 hours and with how long you have to wait for some machines it pretty much only leaves you time to work out, no time to shower or use the sauna, you’re pretty much racing the clock to get to your car, and get out of the building before they charge you a ridiculous amount of money if you go over the 2 hours.
The cardio section is miserable because they have no fans to circulate the air and it gets super hot and stuffy due to the giant windows… Cardio is more miserable than it needs to be… They need to add fans

I was not going to post this, but I think now is the time to speak out, and say enough with the discrimination and racism! la fitness canceled my membership, and the reason why is because I was looking at the yoga instructor during a yoga class, that I was participating in. I was told by la fitness staff Jonathan, that someone from the yoga class I had attended, put in a complaint to la fitness saying that I was looking at the yoga instructor. la fitness without conducting any type of investigation or contacting me to discuss the situation, just decided to cancel my membership. 1 you are supposed to look at the instructor during class, 2 there are surveillance cameras in the room, where the yoga class takes place. This incident was based on rascim and discrimination both from the yoga class classmates who put in the complaint and also from the la fitness staff. My skin color is brown, my race is what society would consider Latino. I'm a decorated Veteran with medals! I don't appreciate la fitness and those classmates from the yoga class judging me based on my skin color and race, la fitness and those classmates from the yoga class both looked at me like some type of threat, when I was the one fighting, so they both could be safe! This type of incidents happen quite often, it is time to speak out, and put an end to racism and discrimination!

Swimming pool has too narrow lap lines so it is tricky to swim the different swimming styles without bumping to the swimmer next to you. I find that this personally takes the relax factor away from the experience. I am an average swimmer, for the records. Please reduce number of lines and lower the chlorine amount, it feels like we are swimming in bleach water.

SCAM. Had a good experience at the gym itself but had to move for work quickly, no longer live near one (closest one two hours away.) I called over the phone in April asking if I could cancel and they told me they'll end my membership no problem. Turns out they were still charging my account for months. When I found that out and called, Natalie was NO help. Told me I would have to go in person to cancel is the only way (even though I live nowhere near one now) and refused to let me speak to her supervisor. I wasn't even asking for a refund for the months they charged me after falsely claiming they would cancel my account. I literally just wanted to stop payments. A shame cause I had a good experience at the gym itself but the lack of understanding is infurating.

Management has an arrogant disposition and is truly a salesman. Profit over people is the feel. The lack of respect and compassion regarding a person with a disability was hurtful. I asked about specials and offerings. His response was one of agitation. Prince has no respect or regard for anything but insisting a membership is the right answer. Because of this, the gym feels different and not in a good way. It lacks personal service. Care. The 3 star rating is for a reason, the issues with corporate, the uncleanliness are a few more reasons I would not recommend this gym.

Worst LA Fitness experience to date. Not because it's unclean. Because of the incredibly rude and self absorbed atmosphere. Everyone, even the staff, treat you like you are in their way and an inconvenience to them. It's like the worst of the worst of LA attitude and entitlement. The pool even requires a reservation and the parking is valet only which means you have to wait for them to move the cars blocking yours when you want to leave. Highly inconvenient gym and good luck trying to get anyone to share equipment on the floor, let alone show an ounce of kindness or consideration.

I just got back from such a horrible experience at what used to be my favorite gym. It's July 4, so I realize that added to the crowd today. But I felt compelled to share details. These are first-world "problems" but still legit when it comes to what the gym used to be compared to post-remodel.
1) Overcrowded: I had to wait for every single strength training machine. They were packed together and this interrupted my flow entirely. I used to go on, wait a little bit for certain machines, & could keep a flow going. That vibe is now gone. I gave up and did cardio instead. (And the new layout is terrible.)
2) 2 Precor ellipticals: They reduced these to only 2 and kept the heavy ellipticals with the arm bars. These suck and have hurt my knees when used in the past.
3) The SMELL: Since we're all packed in, I experienced intense body odor smells from others while waiting in line for the lat pull machine.
I was a #1 fan of this gym for almost 10 years, but am now forced to look elsewhere to join. Was looking forward to Club Studio but at ~$240/month, that's a hard pass. So bummed!

I honestly like the gym for the most part, but it's too crowded to use at almost any of time day, weekday or weekend, that I've managed to show up at. Unfortunately probably gonna have to find a gym where I can use equipment without waiting in line. The LA fitness business model doesn't really allow them to limit memberships so unless they build a new gym nearby, I don't see it improving.

Update: I just wanted to follow up now that a month has passed, because sometimes businesses are cleaned up real nice by new management, but it's a one-time change and things devolve back to where they were. That is *not* happening here.
The new manager cares about this place. He's always out on the floor with people (happily) talking to him, making sure things are clean and put away (by the people who *used* them), and he's making improvements to the gym that I would've never expected to see at an LA Fitness. I don't know if I've ever even seen the manager at any other location.
The difference made by the effort put into this place is huge and it's very much appreciated.
I've been coming here for years now and just needed to say that I am So. Happy. With the recent update they made to the layout of this place. The space is utilized so much better now and there actually seems to be enough squat racks to go around now! Equipment that can be used for all the major lifts so their use can cycle through the week with everyone's schedules? - 10 squat racks one day, 10 benches another - instead of not enough of any of them?? It's still really new, but I am very happy with it

It’s the nicest LA fitness in the area but it’s still not appealing to go to.
Recently they have begun to go on the intercom and give a 5 minute lecture on how to put weights away, and this happens multiple times per workout. It’s reasonable to give a reminder every now and then but the length and content of the announcement has become infuriating (and they keep adding new sentences).
The other LA fitness in the area is the worst gym i’ve ever been to and i’ve begun going there instead to avoid 10 minutes of lectures per day. Otherwise, my gym buddies and I try to plan our workouts here to avoid the timing of the announcements.

I've been a member at several gyms over the years, but the LA Fitness at 5570 Lincoln Road in Marina Del Rey is one of my go-to fitness spots. The recent renovation has completely transformed this location, and I'm genuinely impressed with what they've accomplished.
The new sauna is absolutely fantastic – spacious, clean, and maintains the perfect temperature. This addition alone puts LA Fitness in a position that no competitor can match at this price point. The value you get here is unbeatable when you consider the quality of the facilities post-renovation.
Equipment-wise, everything is now modern, well-maintained, and there's plenty available even during peak hours. The layout is more thoughtfully designed, creating better flow between different workout areas.
What really elevates this location is the manager Jonathan. His dedication is evident in how well the gym operates. He's frequently visible on the floor, engaging with members and ensuring everything runs smoothly. His attention to detail and genuine care for member experience makes a noticeable difference. We honestly need more people like him in service roles.
The only minor drawbacks keeping this from a perfect score are occasionally crowded parking during peak hours and if you’re not watching the clock your parking window (which is free for 90 minutes) can expire and be costly.
If you're looking for a gym in the Marina Del Rey area that offers premium amenities without the premium price tag, the newly renovated LA Fitness is absolutely worth checking out.

After the "renovation" there only FOUR (4) BIKES to use, and no area to put down a pad to stretch. This place is now terrible. Go to the Culver City LA Fitness. It has plenty of all exercise equipment.
Child care at this LA Fitness is a joke. It should be called "child observation". There is no attempt to keep the child occupied. At the first hiccup, the staff calls the parent. Good luck with your workout!
Parking must be a violation of land use and ADA regs. They force everyone down into the 2d level, where there is NO handicapped parking and all spaces are for compact cars. There are only 4 handicapped spots on the first level. They parking staff directs you into a spot so tight that its hard to get out. There is only one exit from the 2d level. Bit of a catch to the generic free trial at this specific location. The free 3 day pass that is filled out online does not stipulate conditions for the location on Lincoln Blvd. The hostess hand waved and indicated if you do not qualify that the cost would be $20 per person. No where in the agreement form is this information contained, although the hostess indicated it was "in the fine print". I've worked with many legal forms and there clearly is no fine print indicating such qualifications and/or requirements specific to this location. I will say that someone told me that LA fitness was the largest hotel fitness center in the US... And with monetary goals as the primary driver at LA fitness, that comment seems appropriate.

I've been coming here since I moved to LA eight years ago. Initially, it was convenient to access machines with minimal wait times. However, it has become extremely busy and crowded, making it take forever to get a machine during peak hours. The parking is not accommodating. Only one level to park the parking people will ask you to block another person’s car and or give your car keys to them which I’m not doing. I didn’t come here to get valet parking. I came here to work out. It’s super inconvenient. I missed the gym that was on Manchester in Lincoln. Now I have to park on the street which is about three blocks away and there’s only one entrance at the gym. these are inconveniences that I’m not used to so I’ll be looking for another LA Fitness where I can just pull up and park and go work out or not worry about finding somewhere to park. In a small parking lot. Parking staff is rude. The three stars is for the actual gym is nice, and I like the equipment.

This location since Westchester closed has taken an extreme level of overcrowding. It was crowded during peak hours already but now it is insane with this location taking the overflow from other location. Wall to wall people even after 7:30pm. Good equipment and hope they raise prices to $100/month as this would cull the herd and still be profitable.

Review for LA Fitness – Playa Del Rey
I’ve been a member at LA Fitness Playa Del Rey since 2018, and until recently, I’ve really enjoyed working out here. However, since the remodel last month, my experience has taken a significant downturn.
While the gym certainly looks better after the renovation, its functionality has unfortunately declined. The reduction in cable machines and cardio equipment—especially the cycling machines—has made it extremely difficult to complete a full workout. Replacing many of these machines with expanded free weight areas seems like a poor use of space, especially when the majority of gym-goers tend to rely on cable-based workout equipment.
Even when I try to avoid peak hours, I consistently find the machines I need to be occupied, leading to long waits and disrupted workout flow. What was once a well-balanced facility now feels cramped and under-equipped for the actual needs of its members.
I’m currently exploring other gyms that can better support my training needs. I wouldn’t be surprised if other long-time members feel the same way and express similar concerns.

Pretty nice gym. Make announcements on the loudspeakers way too often and they’re long/repetitive announcements. Really disrupts the “flow”. Also hot tub has been closed a few times since I’ve started coming to this location and they’ll never give a reason.also, hate the tandem parking/having to give my keys to an attendant. Plus, driveway is right turn only and you have to drive like a mile out of the way to turn around. It also seems like they took away some of the equipment when the other location closed? Not enough bikes…

This location sucks to be honest and they have deceptive marketing. The website says you can sign up for a free 3 day pass, but it fails to mention that you must have a California ID to do so, so a day pass was $30 and the pass does not include the use of the pool. The gym is cramped and crowded, the weight benches are on top of each other, there are not a ton of machines and they have people standing around waiting for them to be used next, so trying to get a good workout in is challenging. Not the best gym experience going here, the parking situation is brutal, if you can get a spot you have to valet and drop off your key. Next time I am in the area I won't be coming here.

If you care at all about fitness - stay FAR FAR away!!
This was/is indeed one of the most beautiful gyms around. Great views of the ballona and has the pool which is appealing, but that’s where the positives end.
The 2 hour limit with NO grace period for parking plus mandatory valet is absolutely ridiculous, but now even more so that it’s gotten so incredibly beyond busy since the Westchester LA fitness closed down. Because of how busy it is now, I have to wait for every single machine, which made my routine take twice as long as usual. And the kicker was that as I ran downstairs to get to my car in time before I start getting charged, I had to wait 10 minutes for an attendant to become available and give me my keys back - now I am past the 2 hour limit and had to pay money to simply workout. If I gym every day of the week, that will add up. This is absolutely ridiculous and not okay.
I raised this issue to the manager, as it’s unfair to have to pay because I’m waiting for an employee to let me leave, and I was told that I should instead go downstairs 15 min prior to expiration, putting it on me. So instead of a 2 hour limit, it’s in actuality a 1 hour 45 minute limit to use the gym we pay a lot of money for. Anyone who’s serious into fitness cannot possibly be restricted by that amount of time.
The immense wait for machines, the ridiculous parking situation (because you give your keys to strangers, I’ve heard that theft happens often), the time limit, all will make me cancel my membership tonight.

Great machines but EXTREMELY crowded all day long ,most people spend some time on their phones and sitting on the machines, really annoying.
Don’t even want to deal with the parking, I parked across the street , have to walk.
Waiting for club studio to open soon.

Great gym and even better after the remodel last week. Lots more squat racks and overall a good spot for weightlifters/bodybuilders and athletes with the new turf area.
The weekday morning manager is awesome, walks around chatting with members and does a great job of making sure people are sharing equipment and putting their weights back.

Yesterday, I visited the Playa Vista LA Fitness location. After my workout, I asked to speak with a manager to share my thoughts about the club — both the positives and the negatives. Overall, it’s one of the better-run clubs compared to others, but it’s extremely busy, and, unfortunately, too many people are just sitting on machines browsing their phones instead of working out.
The manager on duty, Jonathan, was at lunch, and the receptionist asked me to leave my number so he could call me back. Unsurprisingly, no one ever called. When I followed up later that afternoon, I was told Jonathan had already left.
To make matters worse, the staff member who answered immediately asked if I wanted to renew my membership — without even addressing why I had called. I told them I still have three more weeks to decide.
I’ve been with LA Fitness for over 20 years (even back when they operated under a different name), and it’s disappointing to see how bad the phone issue has gotten — and how little is being done about it. As for Jonathan’s lack of professionalism, it makes me seriously question whether this location is truly better than the others.
I truly hope management takes these concerns seriously, because loyal members deserve better.

Let me tell you about this LA Fitness—it stands out above all the others in California, and nothing else comes close because they don’t have Prince! If you know, you know! This location is hands-down the best. The staff greet you with smiles as soon as you walk in, the weights are always racked properly, the benches are wiped down by the last user, and the bathrooms are spotless. The gym stays clean, and the vibe is top-notch. We need more managers like Prince who take pride in their workplace, care about the members, and aren’t afraid to hold people accountable to keep everything running smoothly. I’m part of the 6 AM crew, and it’s a relief knowing I’m stepping into a sanctuary every morning. All you other LA Fitness locations need to take notes—trust me, I’ve been to them all, and none compare! Big shoutout to Prince and his team! The maintenance crew is always out there hustling too!

Honestly worst gym service. My boyfriend has been a paying member for years and told he had guest passes on his app.. but they’re actually fake. He sent me a guest pass so we could go workout together. In my email the pass looked legit and said nothing about all the rules that are required for it. I’ve lived in California for almost 4 years but still have a Maryland ID. Apparently that means I’m not an allowed guest in any LA Fitness. They clearly keep that secret so that when you drive all the way there, they can tell you that you don’t qualify unless you pay $20 for the day or buy a membership. Big scam and if they aren’t honest about that to their customers I’m sure there’s a lot more they’re hiding. Best to just go to a gym that is not sketchy and has better customer service.

I usually attend LA Fitness on Bundy and also the location on Overland. (Which I love, love, love). However, today I was near the Lincoln location and decided to check it out. I must say I will be back. I had a great experience!!!
Customer Service was Amazing, I was greeted with smiles and felt very welcomed. I must give credit were credit is due. A representative named Jonathan provided Legendary Service from the moment I checked in and also when I exited. Jonathan's Customer Service Skills were Awesome. He is a role model and I would hire him for my team. In all honesty, I did observe others that were working, and they were friendly, and professional. Also, I had no issues with parking. I drove right to the lower level, was actually impressed because I parked a few feet from the elevator that took me straight to the gym. Did I just pick a good day to come to this location🙌.
I will be back because this gym provided me with Legendary Service💯
I felt welcomed (hats off to the representative that gave the greeting over the mic thanking us members for choosing this location to work out) that was impressive. I have been a member for over 15 years and have never heard anyone thank me for choosing to work out at their location.
I had no issues with the equipment and The gym was clean.
I wanted to share my experience because I am a stickler for Customer Service and will let you know when you've done well and not so well
This Lincoln location did VERY WELL💯

When it comes to LA Fitness locations in LA, this is my favorite. Smaller, pool and hot tub outside in the back, nice staff, good size locker rooms, adequate equipment and rooms without it being too big.
It could be a little cleaner, and parking isn’t amazing since it’s free valet, could take a few mins to park and leave. But past that, very good location.

Great location and nice amenities. I give 2stars only because of the horrible parking situation with a 3rd party company running the parking lot. This gym is now too overcrowded. The worst part is that they are lacking in hygiene, the last 3 times I’ve been here, the male locker room and sauna areas have had such a bad smell and water everywhere ok the floors. Like I said, I really like the location and besides the horrible parking situation and the recent decline in hygiene, I like the gym. For now I believe other LA Fitness locations make more sense.

If you’re dropping off a child at the daycare room, beware the staff member watching them with blonde hair and blue eyes. I believe her name is Eli. Apparently she keeps track of how many times your kid has an accident in the play room. If your kid happens to have an accident (which happens - hence why they are called “accidents” - the cleaning crew will clean up with no problem), but Eli will scold you as a parent for not properly preventing your child from peeping themselves. As a mom it’s already stressful potty training your kid, then to constantly remind them to go to the bathroom, and then make room for a workout. This girl doesn’t understand. I heard she was transferred from another LA fitness to this one and now I wonder why?

One star because zero isn't an available option. LA Fitness always has and continues to be the most frustrating business to deal with. Matter of time before there's a class action lawsuit against them, assuming there isn't already one.
A few specific issues:
- drastically too small for the number of members. Only a fraction of the building you see from the street is LA Fitness.
- Passive aggressive signs insinuating the issues caused by being undersized are due to you the customers being rude.
- Equipment is cheap and not nearly enough of it. In particular the barbells and power racks.
- No recycling even though there is a lot of plastic waste due to water bottles, etc.
- Sign up is painful and uses high pressure sales tactics.
- The membership cancellation process requires taking off work or mailing in forms. Regardless of what they say this is intentional to make it difficult to cancel.
Rather have a root canal.

As others have said, the parking “experience” is disgraceful. You have precisely one of two possibilities, and you have no say in the choice:
1) your car is blocked in and upon completion of your workout you have to search for a person to retrieve the keys to someone else’s car so they can move it and then you can leave. This can take several minutes.
2) you’re forced to hand over your keys (if you’re like me, you have many important keys on a keychain and either they all go, or you have to pull the key off each and every time) to a stranger who probably has no liability with your car or keys. Upon completion of your workout, you have to search for a stranger to retrieve your keys so you can drive off. Again, this can take several minutes depending.
All to simply exercise at a gym you pay money to be a member of.

DO NOT DO A DAY PASS HERE! I’m not sure if their memberships are good but the method they use for a day pass is you pay for it and then they ask for your ID. They also ask for an email so I’m not sure why they need to hold on to an ID. We left an ID on Saturday and accidentally left it so when we went back on Wednesday they said they either mailed it or threw it out. They never tried contacting us about retrieving it, it hadn’t even been a week and the only answer we got was they either mailed it out or threw it away. We were told that a mangager would contact us but it wasn’t until we called SEVERAL TIMES that we even spoke to a hire up about this issue. We had to get a replacement from the dmv and never got compensation for it.

Been a customer for a few years. Almost originally when it first opened. A lot of great changes I have seen, very impressed with the current staff. A lot of work goes into excellence. Keep going.

Never sign up for this gym, especially their training membership. They take your money, don’t adjust to your trainer needs, then when you try to cancel your membership no action is taken so you keep getting charged. Then when you try to dispute the charge, they freeze your training sessions when you have pending sessions, dispute gets reversed in their favor since you signed a contract, then the loop starts all over again. So basically you’re left with large training membership bills until you fully cancel and lose your outstanding sessions you already were charged for in the process.
I’ve also called the corporate number a few times to help with this. They just let you know that they can’t process refunds for any of this inconvenience. One of these so called managers also rudely hung up on me as I was explaining my frustration to him (named Trevor).

Red headed lady sucks wouldn’t let me try the gym out with my free pass. Says no where on the pass if you were a member 5 years ago somewhere else you can’t try it again. Lost the gym multiple members since me and friends just moved right across the street and were likely to join… do better LA fitness some of the least skilled sales people I’ve ever seen.

Decent gym, but the parking management company here needs to be replaced, continually absurd. I just left and the downstairs parking lot was 40% full (not considering newly cordoned off sections) but the folks attempting to enter the lot were blocked from parking downstairs and told to use the non-existing street parking as a “lot full” sign was blocking the entrance. Seems to be a regular occurrence of late.

The manager was very unprofessional. My friend who is a member took me here to try the vip guest pass. They made me pay 20$ because my driver's license was out of state. Now I check the LA fitness website and there is no such condition mentioned on their website that I have to be a CA resident to use this pass. I am very disgruntled with this kind of service and how a manager could scam people this easily. I lost my trust and my money on the same day. Never going to get a membership with this gym.

After trying out some other gyms in the area, NOTHING tops this one. The customer service is outstanding. The staff is friendly and happy to be there. The manager Prince really goes above and beyond and created a great gym environment. The gym is CLEAN and organized. It has a ton of windows and is bright in there. There is plenty of equipment to use and not a lot of waiting around during busy times. I really like the gyms atmosphere and genuinely look forward to coming every day. For parking the parking garage is managed on the week days and I have not had any bad experiences. I actually appreciate the designated areas rather than searching around for parking elsewhere.
