I went with my mom who is a member and the general manager had such a rotten and off putting attitude. We simply asked about a guest passes and he acted a very rude and condescending to our questions. His insensitive remarks and demeanor were insulting.. He made it clear there were no options for me which was very contradictory to the table of pamphlets offering free 3 day guest passes. Terrible service here!

Al inscribirme, a mi esposa y a mi nos ofrecieron un paquete que supuestamente nos incluía a ambos. Estuvimos entrenando durante 3 meses continuos. Al tercer mes nos dicen en la entrada del gimnasio que solo uno de los dos estamos inscritos. Reclamamos e intentamos explicar lo que nos ofertaron, ellos simplemente repetían que no es válido ese paquete.

Okay. The machines always down. The workers clean right under your feet, especially on the treadmill. Sauna always down for some thing and the girls bathroom light always flickering, and the water fountain never working yet somehow always wet. But the people mind their own bussiness and the workers wont interact with you. They took out the basketball courts and things away from the training area downstairs and made half the room into a training VIP area.

This is an average LA Fitness location. It's two stories, with most of the gym being upstairs. The only gripe I have with this location is how cramped it is upstairs and the lack of machines as it gets insanely crowded here. It's more of a real estate issue more than anything. Also, more treadmills here would be nice.

This review is solely for my personal trainer over the past few weeks, Marlene. She is phenomenal: she is so smart and just knows what exercise to apply. As a long distance runner, she helped me get in shape for my training, and she never forgot any details about me. Even the “easier” workouts left me sore. If you go the personal training route, Marlene is the one to go with all the way.

Where do I start? When I started 2 years ago, they got me to sign up for a 1-year contract with personal trainer for over $2000. They talked about it as if this was going to change my life, so I was very excited. They said they are going to monitor my progress and adjust my sessions. I worked with 9 trainers, most of them either canceled on me or were late. The good ones have excuses like my car doesn’t have gas or it’s my kid’s birthday, and the rest just don’t show up. I talked to the manager (the fourth manager in 10 months), he said we signed 42 people for training, but right now have 1 personal trainer, so most people who paid for training won’t even get a training session. At the same time, they keep telling you if don’t use your sessions, you will lose them. Personal trainers at Esporta work like this: they randomly pick a machine that is not being used and sit there and count reps. If you want to be lied to and spend a lot of money on a service that does not exist, sign up with Esporta. Other problems with Esporta: It is always crowded. A lot of broken equipment that take a while to get fixed.
Whatever you do, DO NOT sign up for personal training.

I've been with LA Fitness when it was still Bally that's why I've became so loyal up to now but not any longer.

LA Fitness was a good gym.... but with today ever changing world of competition. I think that it let itself go outdated not just with equipment but also with service, and so is with price.

I've canvass other gym and found Chuze and I can't believe the price and service that they've offered. At the same price, you can get so much more service like classes, infrared saunas, hydro massagers to name a few.

I've try a 7 day pass at Chuze and so far loving it especially with all the new perks that I'm enjoying at the same price.

Definitely the nicest LA Fitness (AKA Esporta) gym I've been to. Always looks clean to me for the most part except for the occasional cleaning wipe on the floor, but it's definitely less than other gyms I've been to. Considering I've worked at a gym as housekeeping, it's definitely hard to constantly maintain it as gym goers are always dropping stuff and mot picking up afyer themselves, so not a big issue for me. My biggest gripe with this place is that the weights are hardly ever re-racked and even worse, when they are they're not even in the right place. The free weights are also in a weird setup order. The weights not re-racked is a huge pet peeve of mine, but other than that, I still continue to come to this gym.

Speaking through the intercom for a whole hr laughing and saying things to everyone. Then i go to the front to express that it was annoying and inconsiderate to be yelling the most random things that no one could concentrate most of the gym had emptied because of this person and no one at the front desk or the manager are stopping this nonsense. The persons response was you should’ve brought head phones!? Not everyone can bring some! And then he said oh i’m sorry but you're leaving already so you're not going to hear it anymore. What!!!?? There's is a front desk woman who makes me feel uncomfortable every time I walk in the gym. I feel she should be fired for her unprofessional behavior, I would rate the gym 5 stars because when going at times, she is not around. it's very pleasant here. It's the 18th today, and I checked in. And I'm thinking about leaving because of her attitude.

Poorly maintained equipment. The handles for some of the stations “disappear mysteriously” and are never replaced. The management pays no attention to what the points of congestions are and so sometimes you have to wait 5-7mins for a station to free up even outside of busy hours. That being said this place is almost always packed. And the “too cool to talk to you” staff is completely oblivious to the fact that they are actually paid to help you. I think anyone who’s serious about their workout should avoid this gym at least until it’s under better management. 0 stars from me.

Cons: Staff here sucks! personal trainers kick you out of machines and rooms mid workout, (they don't put up a in use sign letting others know the space will be occupied)they also don't clean up after themselves by leaving machines with stacked weights and all sweaty🤮. There's never any sanitizing wipes to clean machines so some parts of the gym smell like sweat. The main manager has made it clear multiple times he only cares about the money being made off customers. Also if you're going to be in a company zoom meeting maybe its best to put head phones on so we dont hear how they need to get more sales out of customers. Only one girl who was working her first day seemed a bit off only to find out she was trying to figure things out without seeming unknowledgeable thus preoccupied. No issue there. For the darn price this gym should not have leather basketballs, or longer weekend hours etc. The reviews I'm reading are as if the people are paying 200 dollar gym fees. No kidding. You are only in this gym for the convenience of the location..the price...and possibly the kids club again price. $10 for kids club for both kids for an entire month unlimited 2 hours each time....and they can't wait to go. My God that alone. But even with no kids okay the 1st month was 15 dollars the subsequent months are less than 30 whattttt? Yall got used to 10 dollar 20 dollar planet fitness crunch gyms??? Kidding me. This is a full blown gym with classes, with a kids club, with cycling, plenty of equipment, a dedicated area that looks like you cN do your own crossfire stuff, t straps, pilates comming soon no different than a club pilates, a separate room for trainers, clean bathrooms, suana swimming pool...spa..etc people are silly to keep complaining when you aren't paying more than a fancy drink at Starbucks with a coffee cake for two people at Starbucks.

Only a few machines wear down. But who cares still no wait for machines of every variety.

The value is there. If you want more my opinion is go pay more. You will get it. Otherwise for the price in this inflated economy it's a deal.

I'm going to the gym with my 14 year old my 2 year old in kids club up to 2 hours each time 4 times so far this week for my first month I paid no enrollment nothing just 40 dollars for all of us including the kids club. And the following month it will be 29 each plus 10 for kids club. In rancho cuca dang monza. Convenient nice location right by target etc...

And as far as wiping doen machines. Take responsibility people. What I do is grap the wipes which they provide, wipe down the machine BEFORE I begin (so I don't worry about who cane before me) and I wipe it before I move on. Period. Doesn't matter if I was in an ultra expensive fancy gym. People don't follow rules and can be whatever about life. Be responsible and do it yourself.

Anyway the point of this review is simply because the reviews I read seemed off.

5 stars for the value. If you know what value means you know. For what is being paid it is above and beyond. And its a huge plus that every single person was exceptionally mom and pop store type friendly. Anyone they aren't friendly to is likely to be some version of a karen themselves and that's just a you problem. It's not the staff.

Yeah, just my opinion folks. Feel free to sign up to a janky gym in Los Angeles and pay 150 to 200 a month for way less. I'm so grateful and thankful for this convenient-off brand but lovely- kid friendly gym.

The curly hair girl with glasses for the night shift doesn’t even work, she starts closing 25 mins before they close & starts kicking everyone out 10 mins before closing time, doesn’t even let evryone finish their work out. Avoid this gym after 5pm as it is now extremely packed with teenagers that come in groups of 3+ and take up one machine for hours. Staff doesn’t care when they’re blasting music and running around the gym and disturbing other patrons.

Large gym, well equipped. The price is not bad. The classes are fun with great trainers/instructors. However, ESPORTA doesn't seem to keep instructors, which means classes are being canceled!! They don't offer a variety of schedules for the classes compared to other gyms. Great instructors keep leaving, I can only imagine it's because they don't want to pay instructors a fair price.
Gym repairs are always VERY slow, sauna was down for 2 months, and some machines are still not fixed. The machines and lockers are not wiped down. You can see the dust and people's dried up sweat. The bathrooms are always clean, though.
The front desk is unpredictable, very few are friendly and professional, and most seem to have a frown, have an attitude, and are zero welcoming.
The gym doesn't promote people to wipe down the machines that they just used. Maybe if they had more sanitizer and trash cans available, people would be cleaning after themselves more often.
People have no gym etiquette; Re-rack! It's also hard to get an efficient workout when people are claiming two machines, when it's already full...
The basketballs and mats are completely ruined! As if they can't invest in a few more every once in a while.
There is zero effort for improvement, as long as we don't complain directly to Corp. they will continue like this.

This is my preferred gym only due to distance and convenience also a offers a tad more than the la fitness nearby. They have a decent selection of equipment to chose from it doesn’t smell as dirty. Most recently I have seen them improve on the cleanliness of this place.

Cleanliness:
At first the restrooms were always trashed. Toilet paper all over the place except where it was suppose to be. Pee all over seats and floor, toilet seats missing, tp holders broken, urinals out of service. Which you can’t blame esporta for those occurring but I would notice it was something that would go unnoticed for days on end, no hand paper or toilet paper available, trash cans filled to the top, mirrors super heavy in water stains. They have recently in the last few weeks been able to be more attentive to the restrooms and providing a better restroom experience.

Equipment:
They have a good variety of equipment for every workout which is a plus, I always find something to do well I am there. Usually only struggle on leg day, you can expect a small wait which is ok for me. The con of this gym is that they often have broken equipment that remains broken for months . Being unable to use your favorite equipment is just ;( major ones for me includes their stair masters, seated row machine, lat pull down machine, and sauna. Would be nice if the down time on these machines can be reassessed to a reasonable time.

Environment:
Many people at the gym are cool and staff are exceptional but I’d like to shed light on Teresa, She has to be the most nicest, respectful, and helpful front desk clerk, she always welcomes you with her big smile and good vibes she deserves some recognition for brightening up the place she is excluded from any negative feedback I give in this review, she is literally the best worker. One thing about this gym is if you bring a guest you can expect them to continuously harass them and try to pressure your guest into getting there membership like no other. They are very persistent with they’re sales tactics which I understand it’s their job responsibilities but they can use some extra training, they’re approaches are horrendous. At times it would be embarrassing to have my guest come with me because I know they’d get asked at least 2-3 times during our session to sign up for a membership. One way I have been benefiting from there sales tactics is by putting my least favorite peoples contact information on the guest sign in sheet… it’s over.

Training:
Although I haven’t gotten any training from esporta, I have noticed the one trainer that they have is never actually paying attention to his clients, he is usually on his phone, not correcting his clients form on nearly all occasions and just not effectively being a trainer. I wouldn’t recommend getting training here. I’ve outsourced my trainer from sixth sense where they have tons of trainers, mine’s trainer( Drew) specifically gets me right 💪

I've been going to this gym since it was a regular LA Fitness, but within the past year the condition of this place has really started to decline.

I'll start with the things I like about the place:
The equipment is relatively new compared to older gyms I've been to and I it's never too crowded for me to point where I can't use the machines I want ( at least during non-peak hours). The locker room/bathroom is always clean. There was a couple weeks where the gym speakers had broken - some would say this is a bad thing but I personally enjoyed those weeks because I like being able to just hear what I'm listening to in my headphones.

Now for the not so great things:

The paper towel dispensers and the foam cleaner dispensers aren't always stocked so sometimes you have to walk across the weight room floor just to find some to wipe down a machine. I really feel like they should start providing cleaning wipes instead of the paper towel + foam cleaner combo because because the latter seems pretty ineffective most of the time and barely cleans. The aerobics ballroom floor is disgusting. It's like no one mops or sweeps it. There's hair EVERYWHERE and the gym only has like 8 floor mats which is arguably less than half as many mats they had before the pandemic.

Overall the culture here is bad. People don't re-rack weights or put things back how they found it in the turf playground (the place always looks like a mess). Not to mention the attitude of the employees - a lot of them dont even say "hi" when you walk in or even look like they want to be there. I really hope something changes soon because I'm starting to not wanna go there either.

Edit:
Ever since I wrote this review I have noticed that they completely replaced the paper towel + foam dispenser combo with sanitary wipe dispensers. This is something that I much better prefer so I'm glad they made the change.
The speakers are also working again for those who don't like to BYOM (bring your own music)
For this reason, I'm changing my review from a 2 to 3 star.

Ms. Emanu , Operations Manager, you should educate your staff about the danger of contamination from uncleaned swimming pool water. It is full of black residues, hairs, sometimes mucus and one time a band aid or a gauze. This is health fitness, which means people are going there to stay healthy. Being dirty and DOESN'T CaRE ATTITUDE of your staff when brought to their attention clearly shows that i si all about the money .

Can't speak to other amenities bc I generally just swim now that Pilates is no longer available. But I love the pool here! The staff is friendly and the ladies locker rooms are clean and very well maintained. Great price!

One of the team members at the front gives customers false information! Beware he tries to sign you up for Esporta and not LA FITNESS. When In fact you can visit both gyms , he stated Esporta will be opening gyms at super markets! Ghetto who wants to work out inside a super market. On top of that this location has horrible weekend hours. Friday close at 9pm. Saturday close at 5pm.
Sunday 5 pm. Front desk youngsters need training on customer service as well

I love that the gym is back open,but....it opened back in the same condition. Is there a reason none of the weights are organized??? Plates remain on barbells. The dumbbell rack has no semblance of order. I love it being back open, but details.

Months later still the same. They are short staffed though.

I hated this place when me and my husband were going someone was messing with him in the gym so to avoid a bad situation we left and went to another gym they seem to only care about money instead of the customers safety will not be coming back here again willnot recommend it either they when I said I wanted a refund they told me to call a 1 800 number smh

UPDATE June 2022: This gym continues to go downhill. Front desk staff are not friendly! Sometimes they don’t even greet you because they are too busy having side conversations with other staff. The gym is filthy! See photos- you can tell that dirt and grime has been sitting for some time. Machines are broken down constantly and take months to get fixed. Don’t even get me started on the restrooms! Filthy, disgusting, biohazard status.

It’s actually really disappointing how much this gym has declined.

I also agree with another reviewer, the people who work here don’t even reflect a healthy or fitness forward lifestyle. I don’t even think the front desk people actually work out. I used to see staff on the floor after their shifts or on their days off, now that’s not a thing. I’ve never seen a front desk person refill paper towels, hand sanitizer, rack weights, etc. They don’t take pride in their place of work and therefore members do not either! The gym is also over crowded and a lot of people unfortunately do not know proper gym etiquette. After four years I will finally be looking for somewhere else to workout.

The staff here is rude, lazy and they need to be trained in customer service. The gym is nice and has a lot of equipment but the upkeep is not being maintained by the young employees that work there.... I remember when people who worked at the gym actually lived a healthy lifestyle you could tell in their appearance these workers now can be kind of discouraging to somebody who's beginning there healthy living journey when you can clearly tell they don't work out and they don't have any information or resources on how to obtain a healthy lifestyle🤷🏿‍♀️ it's a no for me 👎🏾

Emoni at the front desk was very helpful I had an issue with canceling my membership and she cleared it up with no issues. I’m very grateful that this issue was cleared up with no other fees to worry about. Thank you Emoni for helping my farewell with esporta a good one I’ll definitely recommend this gym 💪 to my fellow friends. & staff here is always friendly and helpful as well as training services!! Esporta is a great and comfortable environment to work out at 👍👍💪💪

1st time for Silver Sneakers and a follow up return a few days later were each a blast. The original instructor (much lauded) is recouping from a temporary medical issue but two different subs, Betty and (Oops, don't recall 2nd ones name!) were both great motivators and encouraging with fun music to keep the pace. Immediate benefit: My afternoon blood pressure after the circulatory workout went down into the 120's after months in the 150s. You bet my bride and I are going back as regulars.

The worst staff ladies service, they prefer to lose costumers instead of letting your guests go in when they forget their ID'S even if they have previously gone to that Gym. They should warn your guests for the first time they forget their ID's instead of being mean, it's like shouting the door on their face. I paid for my guest and I have the right to bring them as many times as I want to. I have gone the one in Montclair and I haven't have any problems like this with the staff members, they are nice.

Went in to check it out for my God Son. We were greeted promptly and assigned to Henry. He was very patient and explained everything in clarity. He was extremely professional and gave us excellent service. We were impressed with the Gym and it's cleanliness.We told Henry that we were shopping for membership, so we went to "Crunch" down the street which was the worst experience, so we decided to go back to Esporta and we signed him up with them.
My God's son went yesterday for the first time and he texted me that the staff was super nice and very helpful.

This location has sold way too much memberships and gets so packed its very difficult to find open weight lifting equipment.
