1st time back here after the renovations. This is the most quietest, clean, and never crowed, and respectful LA anywhere across Canada and the USA. I know. I really like the facilities here however the sauna is not good if you come first thing in the morning not hot. It’s not a sauna. It’s more like a warm room. If they could turn the sauna on early enough to get it up to at least 160° plus that would be really nice and I’m sure a lot of customers would be happy about that. I will change my review if they fix the sauna. When I was there, the sun was barely over 100°

As someone who is now disabled, swimming is the only form of exercise available to me, and I rely on it 5 to 6 days a week. Unfortunately, I've recently experienced a series of health issues that I strongly believe are related to the pool. These include two consecutive ear infections, an eye infection, and, most concerning, a case of gastrointestinal illness.

These issues began shortly after I noticed an increase in swim lessons being held in the pool--specifically with infants and young children wearing swim diapers. While I understand the importance of offering swim instruction, I feel this is creating an unsanitary environment for adult members who depend on the pool for health and fitness, especially those of us with compromised immune systems.

I have since started using ear plugs, a full-face snorkel mask, and other protective gear, but I should not have to go to such lengths to stay safe in what should be a clean and professionally maintained facility.

Additionally, I'd like to bring attention to the locker room situation. On multiple occasions, I have encountered young boys--around 10 years old--walking through the women's locker room while adult women are undressed. This is inappropriate and uncomfortable, and I strongly urge the club to enforce proper age and gender policies for locker room access.

A decent LA Fitness location. I love the new remodel with the abundant squat racks. The only thing I didn't like about the remodel was how they only placed one hamstring machine in the entire gym. Perhaps adding two more will be nice. There's a ton of glute machines (more than necessary perhaps).

Double dipping account with auto debiting. Billing was done on July 23, billed again today, two weeks before the scheduled next billing.

Customer service claims that that last debit was non existent and doubled down when challenged. Have go out of my way and waste valuable time to correct this issue.

Proof is provided by my bank. This did take place and I am not one to be gaslit.

Incompetent or just crooked, future possible customers should consider this.

Stay away from LA FITNESS, nothing but thieving liars here. Multiple times I asked them to freeze my account and they said they did it each time and each time I find out I been lied to and lose a big sum of money from my banking account. Do not sign up for their training sessions cuz it’s only 25 mins not an hour and they will NOT, I REPEAT WILL NOT TELL YOU ABOUT ANY FEES EVEN IF YOU ASKED THEM UPFRONT. Both the trainers and the scammers behind the counters/desks will not tell you about them till it’s too late. Planet fitness is better than this place. Cheaper and less liars. Also they say they will call you back as soon as possible but that’s a lie too, multiple times I was supposed to get a call back regarding payment issues and nada , no one ever calls back and when they do, it’s just to calm you down and once again tell you that they’re gonna call you back once they speak to the higher ups but don’t. They just take your money and rip you off. Please don’t be fools and fall for their training programs or be tricked into paying anything more than a standard gym membership fee.

If you are ok with over crowded gym at a premium price, this is right up there. But, thats not what forced me to write a review. I was stupid enough to be trapped in their training program. This is a real trap that would make a sleezy car salesman look like a saint because this just does not end.
1. The person who sold us this program, said it's a month to month contract & we can cancel anytime (LIE). Once we signed, turns out, we had to pay them for 6 months minimum even then if we want to cancel it can only be done on 25th of the 6th month. They won't let us cancle before that date (without us paying a fine) & if we are a day late, they will charge for next month. I was not kidding when I said neverending.
2. Training Demo was with a different person, actual trainer was way worst.
3. When we put our gym membership on hold (they allow this) they still continued charging money for training.
4. People on front desk or call center would say they can't do anything but their VP is the only person who can tackle such basic stuff & that he will call. But that dude never calls.
These are not one-off mistakes or an individual being stubborn, these pain points are built into their processes so that LA Fitness can continue pulling money out of your bank account. I say, save yourself a load of headache & stay away from LA Fitness.

A ton of us show up at 5am when they open to work out before heading to work. So why is it around 6am, when everyone is heading in to shower and change, that the cleaning people are constantly hanging out in the showers and sauna? The sauna is always closed for cleaning and half the showers are being “cleaned” around the time when all the 5am people are heading in to use them. Then the showers that are available are being rained on with freezing water of the kid spraying the showers next to it. Why not clean the showers first so they are available for the customers at 6? Plus this kid is in the restrooms and locker room cleaning for hours all morning yet the place is still absolutely trashed….. toilet paper and paper towels every where…. It just feels like there is no common sense in the mornings. The girl who sits at the front desk, receptionist?, is super nice though and the actual gym floor is nice. But get that back area under
control…..

I hate this gym! Smells like sweat all the time, humid! Never have any cleaning products available! One day I was using a bench and this out of shape “trainer” comes to me and says I need this bench, it’s for me people that pay for training!!!! There is an empty bench sitting right next to me btw! Issue with the kids club. I frequently use the kids club for my 7 and 5 year old kids. I came to this branch recently and found out that they do not have policies for kids bringing electronics. I usually do not have an issue with this until I witnessed very inappropriate material on a kid's tablet. The young adults supposedly monitoring these kids not once checked to see what this kid was showing other children. All I ask is to have the ones watching the kids do the minimum of keeping an eye on what may be innapropriate for children. Very simple stuff. But of course profits are more important than providing an actual service. This post will not change unless there is some sort of policy implemented on what kids bring into or watch in the kids club as there are children as little as a few months old here at times.

My purse was stolen at this place one night and not only did they wait for twenty minutes to go ahead and help me but also took two weeks for the manager to respond to my request for assistance and when the police went to review the footage they had already “erased” it even though I was told that didn’t happen until 30 days after. Isn’t that convenient. Not only that but they continued to charge me the monthly fee and a late fee on the card that was stolen and fraudulently used to purchase thousands of dollars worth of gift cards by this woman. Watch yourselves out there. This place is not secure and they do as little as possible to assist while assuring you they are doing everything possible. I’m so tired of assurances. If as a business you cannot ensure that your customers aren’t thieves than at least let other clients know that there are people who are coming into the gym and stealing peoples personal belongings and to not bring anything with them to workout. This has cost me hours of my time and thousands of dollars. And I’m tired of I’m sorry for the inconvenience being the only thing offered by this place. I’m sorry without actual action on the part of someone means absolutely NOTHING.

Hey guys just wanted to leave a review about my experience. So today I walked in and was greeted by a very nice employee his name is Thomson Duyhn, dresses in a nice suit and super cool guy, he had just a great attitude and an amazing energy. I felt VIP. They had music outside balloons and other decoration they were having a sale. Is this gym just bent on their customers training for heat acclimation?
1. The pool is miserably warm, especially for lap swimming, which is disappointing since it's one of the few pools in the area with 4 lanes. The three times that I've used it (only because group swims were coordinated by others), I sweat during and for 45 to 60 minutes after the swim. I mentioned this twice to the front desk, and it hasn't changed. 24 Hour Fitness keeps their pools at perfect lap swimming temp, and I can swim for over an hour without issue.
2. The treadmills are upstairs where it's poorly conditioned, hot as can be, and there are no fans on the treadmills.
3. Downstairs weight room is more tolerable as far as the temps go, although still warm. But good luck getting the equipment you want to use if it's not super early or late.
4. Nonslip surface rather than ceramic tile on the pool deck would be a wise move. I can't count the number of times I almost went down after getting out of the pool. It's a serious injury or worse followed by a lawsuit waiting to happen.

I've been a member since it opened. Everything is in decline. The equipment is old.The staff doesn't want to be bothered with questions. The men's locker room and restroom are always dirty. The TVs upstairs by the treadmills have all been in a gambling station for over a month. I asked twice for them to change it. No help. Often non members are allowed in to play basketball. Nice gym. I love that it has a juice bar, two open levels with lots of natural sunlight, and a swimming pool. The water pressure in the showers is great too. I also love the community-vibe and how un-intimidating the vibe is here. There are people of all ages, all body types, all athletic abilities, all backgrounds, and everyone is friendly. The staff are friendly and the bathroom and showers are kept clean. The only cons I see: A little outdated compared to other LA fitness’s. The treadmills don’t have the ability to switch between km and m, they don’t have built in TVs, or fans. They also have vintage tiny iPod connecting capability, but don’t have an area to place a modern sized cell phone. There are also limited stretching mats and the ones that are there are not in front of a mirror so I can’t quite see if I’m doing my stretches properly. I’m training for my first 10k so the stretch mats and the treadmills are what I use the most. Other than that, I can’t fault this place and would happily recommend it as a friendly and clean gym with a nice staff and nice vibe.

If you could go somewhere else I would. I’ve been going for about 15 years and the equipment has never been updated. It is out of date and for how old the stuff is the price should be cheaper. The billing is terrible, went in to pay on one account and they billed a different membership. They couldn’t guarantee a refund so I had to pay for two membership, which is annoying. Other than the location there isn’t really anything good about this gym. It smells, they hardly turn on the air, the equipment is outdated, and they changed hours because of Covid and have earlier closing then most gyms.

CAN THEY GET ANY WORSE? Our group of military vets were asked to vacate a racquetball court because someone had a reservation. Meanwhile, there were TWO courts being used by non racquetball players, one for yoga and another who brought weights to work, that clearly damage the floor. They are crooks. I received an email with an offer that did not have an expiration, and they tried to up sell me to a membership 20$ more. They tried to say they couldn’t change it and directed me to corporate who said they couldn’t honor it. Eric the manager is so beyond rude. My sister and I got our memberships together and they switched our accounts meaning I've been paying for her membership this whole time and mine was deactivated. I asked Eric if they could fix it and he said for me to say I'm my sister when I come in. How unethical. Equipment stopped working somewhere around the 40 minute mark of my hour workout and would not show any of my progress or where I was. Equipment has qr codes and links to an app to connect to the equipment but you can't actually connect to them. The gym does not put the effort in to utilizing this feature. Disappointed and frustrated with my workout since I have tried and had better experiences elsewhere. I have had my membership for a while now but will be cancelling because I can get better elsewhere and am training for a triathlon, so it matters.

I been coming to LA fitness since 2015 off and on and never thought of having a personal trainer until I met Relly. She knows her stuff and she pushes you to get thru your work. It’s hell but when she says we are done you feel good and you know you was able to do it. It’s easy to sit there and throw out commands on what to do but she actually workout with me. The things she had me do she was doing them also and that’s what made it worth the session.

My major complain at this location is the bare bones classes. They have 3 or 4 classes compared to 10 or more in Arlington/Magnolia or Canyon Crest. I reached out to corporate so many times for a whole year requesting more zumba classes. Their excuse was lack of instructors. I spoke with the instructors and no one has reached out to them! The manager at the location can't help either. Her plea to regional manager to hire more is ignored. Was super stoked to check out this LA Fitness. Since I’m a personal training client, I like to workout in the personal training area. My sister and I were using the cable machine when the trainer Timothy came in to train someone. He told us that we couldn’t be in there because it’s reserved for people who pay for training. We told him we were personal training clients. But still told us in a rude tone that we couldn’t be there, since he was using the entire area. I went to the reception area to ask someone if we could be in there? This young lady said we could, if we weren’t interfering with their training. She kindly escorted my sister and I back to the area. After she left, the Timothy guy then said, “you can work out in this area (pointing to a small area) but you can’t use the cables because i’m using it for my trainee.” If he would’ve just said that from the beginning and wasn’t rude about it, it wouldn’t have been a big deal. Guy acted like he owned the area. I went over to the reception area again to talk to someone. I don’t like being disrespected, especially when I’m paying so much money for personal training. I asked to speak to a higher-up and we just got stared down by the people at the reception area. Felt so awkward. Spoke to one of the sales and asked if all LA Fitness locations have different contract and she said yes. Which turns out that this is false.
It takes a lot for some people to go to the gym for different reasons. But this gym, in particular, was not welcoming. Get personal training here at your own risk.

Had to call my credit card to cancel my account. Sent 6 letters to corporate, tried to cancel over the phone and in person and was refused. Now LA fitness is calling asking for late fee's

SUPERB! Perhaps the cleanest club in their entire West Coast chain! From the staff at the front desk, to the cleaning crew, “ these guys mean business “! They are attentive, thoughtful, caring, concerned, and pay “ super attention “ to keeping the club clean and germ free. I Highly Recommend this location.

To be blunt, this gym is usually empty which is a plus, however my sister had an altercation with an employee telling her to put her mask back on while she was drinking water. Meanwhile there are at least 10 people at any given time not even wearing masks every time I visit which is literally 7 days a week. I don't even support wearing masks but I still wear one because rules are rules. It seems as though only certain people are required to follow this rule as I have not seen a trainer nor any of the workers say one word about it to anyone else. Talk about bias. Why others are allowed to be above the rules and others are held accountable is beyond me. Management needs to enforce this better or do away with it altogether if employees are going to pick and choose who has to follow and who doesn't because last time I checked, the sign out front applies to EVERYONE.

POST-COVID UPDATE:

This is at about 830 am.
Nice and calm. I do not know how it gets in the afternoons but mornings are calm.

Clean, organized and they have cleaning bottles available for you if that’s your preference. They also have the old school option. Grab a piece of paper and spray it with the sanitizer they provide. There is also actual hand sanitizer. The staff in the front is there early and with a big ol smile. I like what they did here. Easily, one of the best LA clubs I’ve seen in the area and if you are trying to make your covid comeback. This is not a bad place to start.
