I was in the shower when the lights when off. I then put my clothes and grabbed my phone and went to help folks out of the wet areas, beacuse it was pitch dark. And what I saw was utter fear on members faces.

I the open the janitor storage door to let light in the wet areas so member could see. I also witness lights in certain areas there where completely on. In the Janitors area and the storage or electrical room and hallway areas all the lights including and the lockers where on. So this was not a totally black out!

So it was not a power outages as Taylor had stated. That was completely false. Because the emergency light would have been trigger and would have came on if there was an outage. To verify this I called Edison this morning and they said that was a negative no power outage whatsoever.

What was alarming to me was that the shorter Janitors got pissed and when to the back area and when he came he had big smirk on and the lights turn off. Inparticular the lights section that affected the wet areas and also the left side of the gym. He seem piss off whrn he when back their. To me it seem like he did not want to be there and wanted to get even with members who dirtythe top area, so he turn off lighting so he could get to go home early.

LA fitiness members should be afforded with better safeguards and not be exposed to a disgruntled worker. This type of behavior never should exist at LA fitness Rosemead. And certainly dhould never have to deal with these messes and treatment again by staff.

In closing, Taylor should be fired and staff should all be trained so they have higher standards and can be professional when emergency happen at the gym. This is a matter safety So, I will now report this to city and state authorities and health department. Yo try to rectify this so it never happens again at Rosemead LA Fitness.

This gym has deteriorated significantly under the leadership of Manager Taylor and District Manager Melissa. Both managers lack basic leadership competencies and become defensive when members raise legitimate concerns. I cannot recommend this location to prospective members due to the following issues:

Chronic Equipment Failures
Sauna (1 month down): A piece of roofing material fell and nearly injured a member. The facility remained closed for over a month with no timeline for repairs.

Steam room (3 months of intermittent service): The equipment is outdated and breaks down repeatedly. Repairs take months when they happen at all. Members receive no updates or estimated completion dates.

This pattern represents a failure to maintain safe, functional facilities while continuing to collect membership fees.

Security Breach and Safety Negligence
Two weeks ago, an intruder accessed the men's locker room and stole belongings from four members. Cleaning staff witnessed the incident but claimed "it's none of their business" and did nothing.

Management's response was to close the gym at 9:45 PM, causing all members to lose 1 hour and 15 minutes of access time. This punishes the victims while failing to address the underlying security failure.

Unprofessional Closures
Incident 1: When a front desk employee quit abruptly due to Taylor's management style, she retaliated against members by closing the gym early at 10:30 PM because she had no coverage.

Incident 2 (Last night): A janitorial staff member became angry about cleaning duties and deliberately shut off lights in the wet areas at 9:49 PM, creating a dangerous situation.

Elderly members in the showers and locker rooms were left disoriented and frightened
One elderly member with a cane tripped near the outdoor shower area
Front desk staff screamed at members to "get out" instead of calmly managing the situation emergency protocols were completely absent.

Taylor claimed this was a power outage. This is demonstrably false. The janitor's area, storage rooms, and locker sections remained fully lit. I contacted Edison, who confirmed there was no power outage whatsoever. A staff member deliberately cut power to retaliate against members and leave early.

Systemic Failures
This incident exposed multiple critical deficiencies:

No emergency training: Staff had no protocols for unexpected situations
No member safety priorities: Vulnerable elderly members were put at risk

Management dishonesty: Taylor fabricated the power outage story

Staff accountability: A janitorial employee sabotaged the facility without consequence
Required Actions Immediate termination of Manager Taylor for incompetence and dishonesty

Comprehensive safety training for all staff members

Emergency protocols established and practiced regularly

Security improvements to prevent unauthorized access

Maintenance schedule with transparent timelines for repairs

Compensation for lost member access time during unauthorized closures

Members deserve a safe, functional facility with professional management. The current leadership has failed on every metric.

Always, every day, boys come to the women shower and locker room. Not toddlers, but 6 to 8 years or older. I am very disappointed with the costumer service of this facility. Me and my boyfriend came to this gym very excited, paid for a membership and also paid for a personal training sessions. But they were very very unprofessional when they lost their staff, they kept charging us even after nobody was training us because two of their personal training staff quit. No one ever reached out and we tried to message them but they kept telling us lies and keep charging us money.
Also, they were very specific that when we decided to go travel for two months they told us we couldn’t cancel the membership because we signed a contract. But even after they kept charging for those two months we were gone we came back to talk to the staff and they said we could’ve froze the membership while we were gone. But before we left they said that was not possible.

They are scammers and beside the facility it’s not well taken care of. The swimming pool it’s always full and their equipment sometimes doesn’t work.

It’s a disappointment and I do not recommend coming here.

I had an amazing experience with a sales manager name is William at this LA Fitness. This individual’s attitude was absolutely exceptional—warm, professional, and incredibly courteous. After disappointing experiences at other gyms, specifically in Baldwin Park and nearby areas, where the sales staff’s demeanor was uninviting and off-putting, I was hesitant to sign up for a membership. If you don't take a trainer, they get upset, and if you want to cancel your membership, the managers hide and do everything they can to prevent it from being canceled. Favorite gym in the area because of the layout with cardio down stairs near the entrance and all the weights and other equipment upstairs, not crowded even with people here (unlike the Pico location). Only negatives are the locker rooms, they need updating and there are roaches. Would give 3.5 out of 5 stars

I had a very disappointing experience with this gym. I initially signed up for a trial, but the salesperson pressured me into signing up for a membership, assuring me that I had five days to cancel if I changed my mind. However, when I attempted to cancel, I discovered that the process was incredibly inconvenient.

Cancellations can only be done in person between 9 AM and 5 PM or by speaking with a manager—who was unavailable when I visited, despite staff being present and seemingly unoccupied. Additionally, phone calls went unanswered, making it even more frustrating.

The classes were not engaging, and overall, the service felt unprofessional. To make matters worse, I was quoted $49 but was charged $119 instead. I have been trying to resolve this issue since the third day of my membership with no success.

This experience has been frustrating and unprofessional, and I would not recommend this gym to others. If you're considering joining, be aware of their cancellation policies and unclear pricing.

I appreciate this facility in different water treatment amnenities and suanas and stem rooms, spa,pool they have to offer. To management: The jacuzzi spa pool and public pool at this facility -the water is looking very green and Grimey more than that is getting comfortable or customer prefrence, Please consider emptying pools water or having blue-er pools and servicing pool professionally. the gym is cool im not a gym lover but i go occasionally. yoga room is my fave amenity. front desk workers are super chill and i admire their ability to multitask (checking members in, making calls, problem solving). asian guy with a perm and earrings at the front was super helpful in looking me up in the system when i had an issue with my membership and offered a quick solution to fix it. he is very patient and always helping members out, i always hear him speaking in vietnamese and cantonese in addition to english to further assist members.

My dad lost his items yesterday around 2pm in the locker room and needed help finding them. When the girl from front desk asked the male staff (African American male in 20s) to help find the items in the locker as I ping his phone to make sounds, he did not even try to find it and came out within a few seconds. When he took me to upstairs to see if my dad has misplaced them, he was impatient and asked if I had a membership with the gym. Obviously, I am not here to work out but simply wanted to find my dad's items and he stated quickly that you cannot be up here and its only for gym members and was like I gotta go back to work. He also asked me how old my dad is and I did not think it was appropriate to be asking that question when I am clearly in distress and thought it was pretty rude to assume that it was all because of my dad's old age. I was pretty angry and asked if I am here to work out when I am only concerned over his lost items. I get that it is our responsibility to keep our items safe but it is not that hard to be kind and help out people when they need help. I also never gave him attitude and just wanted help from him. Finally, the girl from front desk volunteered to attempt finding the items again in the locker room and she actually finally found them. I just want to thank the girl from front desk for taking her time, being so patient and understanding and actually trying to help me and my dad out.

Entering the La Fitness gym, I was met with a chilling reception. As I walked through the doors, I couldn't shake the feeling of eyes following my every move. It wasn't long before the uncomfortable stares turned into outright hostility.

The first instance of racism occurred when I approached the front desk to check-in. Instead of a warm greeting, I was met with a cold shoulder and a dismissive attitude. The employee's tone dripped with disdain as they barely acknowledged my presence. It was clear that my skin color was a factor in their treatment of me.

Throughout my workout, I couldn't shake the feeling of being watched, not for my form or progress, but for the color of my skin. Other gym-goers seemed to go out of their way to avoid me, casting judgmental glances in my direction.

But the discrimination didn't end there. As I made my way to the locker room to freshen up after my workout, I was met with yet another indignity. The soap dispenser, if you could even call it that, was filled with a watery, diluted mixture that barely passed for soap. It was clear that the maintenance of basic amenities was not a priority for this gym, especially not for someone like me.

Leaving the gym that day, I couldn't shake the feeling of being unwelcome and devalued. It's disheartening to experience such blatant racism and neglect in a place that's supposed to promote health and wellness for all.

I have been working out here for many years, and I never had any problem here before. The clerks who work there have serious problems, they don’t know how to treat people nicely. There’s a roll of tissue on the front desk, and when I am done from the cardio machine found my hand dirty, so I took one piece from the roll. The clerk came up and told me the tissue is for them to use but not the customers.
It’s really not a big deal, but their attitude is totally not acceptable.
Today is April 27th, 2024. @ 6:50pm. I addressed the issue to a guy who told me is the manager. He also thought everything is ok, and also refused to tell me his name.
So I do not know who they really were, but I think someone from the real management could see this, and figure out who should be responsible for what happened today.

It's old and outdated. I noticed some machines are gone. Hopefully they are being updated. The carpet is as old and outdated as a carpet in a cheesy old las vegas casino. The handles on machines are locked so you can't do a variety of workouts and are forced to wait for other machines to be open thus prolonging your workouts. I used this gym as my last resort. Consumer Beware: 2022, I bought my mom a training package with a one year contract. I was told many, many, many times that the contract will expire in Nov 2023 on its own.
Come Feb 2024, I see my credit card is still being charged on a monthly basis AND my mom doesn't even use it (no one followed up, no trainer, no management). Since Feb 2024, for 2 weeks, I've been trying to cancel this and i am being transferred from one dept to another.
I can't believe these fitness centers are still a nightmare to deal with. BTW, as of today, March 1, i still wasn't successful in cancelling the contract:(

OMG... Never again. It's a low-end zoo, not even a gym. I travel across the country and use different gyms weekly, but I can safely call this the worst of all!!! The facility itself isn’t all that great or terrible, it’s a gym and the equipment is a bit dated compared to other gyms out there. This is more of a review of Sam, the sales manager. I understand that the sales guys need to get the customers business but Sam was very rude and confrontational when I didn’t want his info or input about my body. There was a moment when he made me feel very uncomfortable with the conversation about my body, at some point I asked him to stop but he insisted on continuing the conversation. I’ve been visiting multiple locations because I want to be comfortable where I work out. I don’t know if he didn’t like that I was talking to a sales rep from another location but his behavior kept me from becoming a customer. If you go you might want to avoid him. Hopefully you get a sales person that’s more interested in making sure you feel comfortable in a gym.

I took my son into that place, but i didnt have that have a guest pass and they charge me for no reason. Me and my son didnt even go in because guess past was like $20?! TO summarize everyting, they charge my account $20 for nothing!! Pls fix your staff memebrs too. So, so rude.

Gets the job done. I go in, workout, shower and get out with no major issues. Only problem I have is it gets annoyingly packed just right after 4ish. Hate it. And it's also stuffy as hell when the weather is hot.

This place gets very busy in the evenings. There are enough machines, but not enough for the amount of people who go there on Thursdays and the evenings. It would be great if they added more weight equipment on the 1st floor. They do have a big sauna that is not separated. I don't go inside it but there is a jacuzzi along with a pool in that whole area. I love the wet steam room. Don't take too long in the showers, people and janitors seem to get really bothered by it as if there are some shower knarks for the facility.

Came in with a guest pass and signed up today because I took Judy’s Zumba class and she was phenomenal!! Thank you Judy! Can’t wait to use the rest of the gym. Royce, Alejandro and another salesman were so kind. I apologize, I don’t remember his name. He was very informative and polite.

I like the gym but I don’t like the customer service level as this is extremely poor service comparing to other locations I went. The soaps and supplies are not fully stocked to support the customers need. Always ran out of supply.

Arrived around 10am and I have to say, this is such a busy location. The parking closer to the gym is reserved for another business. Their was sooo many people in the pool that I decided to opt out and hit the steam room and shower. The locker room was very busy, ton of people didn't feel clean at all. Steam room was ok, there is a nice eucalyptus scent must've been from other patrons definitely not typical but helped with the sinus. I wouldn't come back unless in the area. Try another location....

Just got off the phone with the LA county public health department complaining about the amount of memberships being oversold. Do not come here. It is way too overcrowded to get any type of workout in. Hope they get busted ASAP

Lack of equipments, there are 3 squat racks, 3 flat bench press, one incline and one decline and there are total of of 5 bars. People running around look for bars and bring the bars from racks to racks. The dumbells are scattered everywhere. The rack is 1/2 empty. Hard to find dumbells.

It has many machines but also sure gets packed after probably 3 pm. The worst thing is that the gym does not have cables or handles and people have to bring their own. The vibe here is actually not too bad - people come here to train with different levels. Just make sure you dodge the peak hours and you should be fine.

I like this location as it close to a lot of shops Ulta, Target, Ross as well as a lot of restaurant. This gym has plenty of space and is very clean. Staff is very friendly as well.

This gym is not for body builders. Very congested and the space is unorganized. All the weights were scattered everywhere. I lost all motivation before I even lifted a weight.

Gym is a standard gym so good variety of equipment and decent amount of traffic. Just FYI they shut their doors to anybody coming in at 30 minutes prior to closing, close off the pools at 15 minutes prior, the showers 10 minutes prior (including the water and lights if you’re still in there at that point).

Never seen that at other gyms…. :/

The staff is super friendly. Love th sauna. Wish the hours where longer. Sometimes it's really crowded but most of the time I'm lucky with the machines i need.

Front counter customer is excellent but it lacks more staff, cleanliness, the floors to the bathroom, changing rooms were dirty,you can see dirt on the tile, no soap in the soap dispensers, sinks looked dirty.
Went into the pool area and the water looked gross, murky, went in anyways and water had a nasty smell and gross taste... wasn't trying to drink or taste the water but my lady splashed water on me and I was disgusted.
