I've been to many LA Fitness gyms especially i like the one in Irvine. But this one is always cold is like a walk in freezer. I sprain my pec miner and pec major, back in October. It took me 11 months to recover. I talk the manager, I ask him why is your gym the only gym thats always feels like a freezer!! I told him because its so cold, I sprained my shoulder!! I don't really recommend this gym causes is always freezing!!!!

Other locations are way nicer than here. I go to Irvine and had a meeting at south coast. I decided to workout here and wait out traffic. The facility is run down. Bathrooms are gross. A lot of machines were broken. Half the TVs don’t work. The staff is also rude. Girl at the front desk with head band was on her personal phone talking to someone. Plus I think it’s her manager kept tickling her and touching her in a very inappropriate way. This place should be shut down and opens up under new management. Glad I go to Irvine where it’s clean, machines work, the front staff is nice and definitely not creepy.

LA Fitness in Sea Cliff is a little drive for me but well worth it. Recently my home LA Fitness on Talbert in Fountain Valley, remodeled and brought in all new equipment. The equipment is nice and brand new but I haven’t quite figured out how to use the cardio machines yet. So I made the Sea Cliff LA Fitness my home gym now. I love the layout, the variety of cardio machines, the weight machines, the stretching area and the restrooms which are always clean and kept up. That is a big plus. I visit LA Fitness approximately 4 times per week for a two hour workout. Staff is very friendly. My workout time is time for myself and I really feel good after I finish a hard workout at LA Fitness.

usually like LA Fitness, but this location was a huge disappointment. The gym is small, unattractive, and has a terrible vibe. The locker room was barely functional, and the showers were filthy — floors had pee and soggy paper towels. Even the feminine hygiene bins weren’t lined properly, showing a lack of basic sanitation training for staff. Definitely not the standard I expect from LA Fitness.

Bad customer service here. A 2 day pass to try out gym does not exist at this location. They'll try sitting you down like you buying a car and ask for all your billing info so after the 2 days it automatically goes to a membership haha like with out letting you try the gym out first and seeing if you even like it.... they ask for down-payments still all old school....$39 a month They funny... stick to Golds Gym nothing up front and just $25 a month, and it's a clean and well equipped gym too....

I wouldn't recommend this LA fitness location to others. The staff aren't very friendly which isn't a very big deal, but it is so frustrating how poorly many leave the weights. It's certainly the norm here to leave equipment and weights scattered throughout the gym. As someone who wants to go to the gym and get to work quickly, it is a hinderance to have to rack other people's weights, look for dumbells, and move 45 lb plates to grab a 25. If the gym staff won't be advising other guests to leave the equipment orderly, at least have the respect to clean it up for your other patrons.
There was also a comment that mentioned staff don't require scanning in, which I'm not sure I really care about but do agree with. I've seen people run past the front desk without scanning, and no one seems to care.

TERRIBLE GYM. Not only is it pretty grimy already, but they decided to turn off the WATER (from 8-9am) today. They let people know by putting a TINY, white piece of paper against the WHITE backsplash. Mind you, this is A WHOLE HOUR OF NO ONE BEING ABLE TO WASH THEIR HANDS. I’m in the shower completely lathered up bc I had a few minutes before 8, and they turned it off EARLY! I looked for an employee to help and they said there was nothing they could do and was told to “jump in the pool”. I asked them to go to front desk for me and they refused. Once I got dressed with all my sweaty clothes back on i went to the front desk and asked for the manager name and number (oh because there was no manager on staff at this time wth?) and she said “call LA fitness” LOL insanely unprofessional, rude, gaslighting environment. I was humiliated. Never stepping foot in here again. Note: Manager apologized after I called to let him know the situation. That was it.

currently serving in the military and came home on leave. While visiting this gym, I was speaking Spanish when I was approached aggressively by a man named John. His behavior was clearly racist and completely uncalled for. As someone who serves this country, I never expected to come home and experience this kind of discrimination. Worst gym that I have ever had the displeasure to patron.
Staff allows anyone in, and at any number (groups of people coming in with only one scan).
Someone could easily just enter whenever they want without paying.
The cleaning staff are the only oned working. The front desk people are more inclined to speak with each other and be on social media than attend to members.
Been coming here for 2 months, not 1 hello from staff (except for the cleaning team)
Been with Crunch and 24 previously, and this gym pales in comparison to the worst version of the others.
Men recording themselves in the bathroom/locker room, though others don’t consent. No staff checking bathrooms/locker-rooms
Machines not looked at. (Several broken and not fixed)
Many people walking around in flip flops and sandals. (Dangerous and unsanitary)
No dress code. (Either too little of clothing, or people coming in their work clothes.)
The smell is worse than other gyms.
If there is a manager at this gym, I would be very surprised.
Very disappointed. Only coming here because it is the closest gym to me.

Unacceptable behavior and clear act of racial discrimination.
My friend called to ask a simple question and kindly asked if anyone at the location spoke Spanish. The manager (John) yelled at her and said, “This is America, and we speak English here.” That response is completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and discriminatory.

I have a lot of things to say after a year, I decided to return to LA FITNESS in Bristol and MacArthur because of the daycare they offer for children, someone named John calls me to offer me a free workout at 10:08 am I couldn't answer his message and decides to call me at 10:27 am, when I answer he asks me if he is speaking with Kaory, (I can't speak fluent English but I can understand it) I kindly answer if he can speak Spanish so I can understand him better, to which the very rude guy starts telling me that this is AMERICA and that I should speak English, (I repeat I understand a little of the language even though I can't speak it) I decide to hang up the call and block the number, I understand that he works there, and by contract I can't terminate my membership if not I will lose my money, but I don't want to go to a place where there is a racist organization, if this is on a call what will happen next? Attack me in person and I will take my son to that gym, save yourself the trips it's not worth it.

Extremely Disappointed – Discrimination by a Manager

My sister in law signed up for a membership at the LA Fitness AT THIS LOCATION and shortly after received a text from an employee named JOHN about her first free training session.

However, when he called her and she asked, “Do you speak Spanish?”, he responded, “This is America. You should speak English.” Then he hung up on her.

When I called to follow up and ask what happened, he hung up on me too. A friend of my sister in law also called to ask about the situation and was hung up on as well.

Later, we learned this man is actually a manager, and that there have been multiple complaints about him from both customers and staff. Another employee even said our best bet was to go to corporate because of ongoing issues.

This is completely UNACCEPTABLE. Especially in a city like Santa Ana, where over 75% of the population is Latino. It’s disturbing and offensive that someone in a leadership role would treat people this way.

LA Fitness needs to do better, train their staff, and take action to ensure this doesn’t happen again. We are reporting this to corporate, and we hope the company takes it seriously.

I like the Zumba classes here. Elie & Maky are very good instructors. They stay in front of people & dance all the time so it’s easy to follow their steps. Some instructors haven’t done like that. They have stayed somewhere in the class & let someone in the class danced for them most of time. When things like that happened we didn’t know how to dance because it was like the blind leads blinds. Plz instructors, do your job - dance - so we can follow the steps & we dont make any mistakes because we are not all pros. there. That’s why we go there to learn & work out. Thx

I have been a member of LA Fitness for years and have never had an encounter like I did with CARLOS PLAYAS the so called “MANAGER.” He committed fraud/scammed my mom while helping her sign up for a membership. He collected $200+ and promised that the membership would be 24.99.. long story short we have been getting charged $35 a month he “refunds” the account but all he’s doing is freezing and unfreezing the account. We have tried to reach out & he hangs up. I tried calling the gym directly and I get sent to voicemail. Next up corporate, save yourself the headache.

Called up there at 7:30. Was told I could come with a guest pass right now and that it doesn't matter with the time.
I start to run up there and as im about to get there I called up because on my email I didn't see the email about the free pass. Well the guy said if I didn't get an email to not come up. He also just put the phone down and never said another word. so youre telling me I wasted 30 minutes running up here. I'll go 30 miles away to a gym if I have to before I EVVVVERRR step foot in an LA Fitness. It sucks too cause this is my closest gym. you're better off finding another gym. Organized well . I went for the sauna in the morning around 6am twice and they were cleaning it . Cleaning crew are rude and unprofessional, the guys was start yelling at me when I checked the sauna if it was working or not . This should be done during off hours . I went there specifically for that and waisted my time . Also the wood inside is broken with rusty nails and dirty as h. Broken equipment since months … now I tried to call to see if they were open ( on google looks like that they are. ) , but nobody answers the phone . I’ve been going to this gym for a while and they recently added a new training room and when i’m there, no one uses it. My gym partner and I went in today and a trainer approached us as we set up and said “I wouldn’t do that if I were you” and kicked us out. Apparently the room is only for personal training and there is no door, signage, or schedule depicting any sort of schedule. Someone else proceeded to then go in and use it and nothing was said to them, all without being a personal trainer or having a training scheduled. Staff was not welcoming and has continuously been rude. Will be finding a better gym.

I'm not sure what's with the low reviews. I guess for a gym with an expensive membership, people have really high expectations. I, however, am very pleased with my experience at this LA fitness. Sure, it's not two stories like some of the others, but it has everything I need, and I haven't seen it busy to the point where machines were full. The staff are helpful and friendly. The pool and jacuzzi is nice. People complained about the sauna being shared between men and women, but I personally like that. You can go in with your friends, and it's easily accessible from the pool.

First off I love the LA fitness brand but my experience with this location was not good. I tried the trial I’d recommend this if you are considering using this gym as it gets very busy. I was issued a 3 day pass by I a very pushy sales person then I tried to use the pass the next day and was told it expired even though I had 2 more days on it. The gym was so busy I just left glad I didn’t sign up like they wanted me too.

One of the best gyms I have gone to. It has the older style equipment which I think gives you better range. I simply loved this place because of the equipment

Great staff, immense amounts of equipment, huge pool and hot tub. Facilities are typically clean and everyone seems to be very conscious about sanitizing the equipment before and after they use it.

Has barbells, benches, power racks, a variety of nautilus presses(nice nice), lat Pulldown/cables in a decent area, and a pool. Think I saw a hack squat too. I keep it pretty basic. I like power building and having access to cardio equipment. I’m not understanding the poor reviews. Lots of dumbbells, ez curl bars, and straight bars for the gym rats (Bodybuilders lol). Decent price. An upgrade from Blink/PF.

Horrible…..they clean during business hours instead of cleaning before they open…no sauna until after 6am, and the free weight area is never organized lazy workers

The new renovation area is only for customers that want to train. Otherwise, the rest of cuatomers use the old machines and equipment. The training area is huge and takes up more than one area. The only good side to this is the boxing room that is accessible for everyone.

Canceling my membership was a nightmare!
I’m a stay a home mom so had to switch gyms because of my schedule. They make it impossible to cancel I had called before my due payment and told me only the manager could cancel the membership so had to wait until the fallowing week, because he wasn’t there anymore I called around 2pm on Friday.
Monday comes and I get a call from LA fitness payment support , I answered and let them know what happened the guy extremely rude starts telling me I can’t cancel cause I have a balance on my account now because it was processed during the weekend???
I let him know what the girl that I called the first time before my payment was due told me and he just ignored me and kept saying no no no.
So at this point I get my 2 kids put them in the car and drive to the gym around 10am
The girl at the front desk tells me the manager isn’t there I tell her I have to be somewhere at 11 so he has to be there soon, and btw you have to go in to cancel can’t do it online or the phone horrible!!!! So she decides to call him and he shows up in 1 min. He doesn’t even say hi or nothing I’m just standing there waiting. 2 min later the girl just hands me a paper saying it’s been canceled. So I just leave and today in the morning they called me again saying I have a balance and I told them what happened and again the exact same rudeness this time it was a women from payment support. ESPORTA do better And teach all your employees your policy on cancellation !!!this would have never happened if the girl would have told me she couldn’t do anything and had to pay even tho the manager wasn’t in when I called a head of time. Horrible horrible customer service all around !!!

Would appreciate if I could get more sanitizer out of the little pumps to actually wipe the machines off. There are also quite a bit of machines that don't work, need service, or are rusty. Maybe an update would help, and a water fountain for bottles would also be nice.

It’s got a pool. I can work on my aqua aerobics and meditation then finish in the spa and shower. I like how the showers are in individual stalls. The pool is heated.
When I meditate the water rocks me like a baby in a cradle.

Mi gimnasio preferido de todos los que he recorrido. Muy completo. Es mi rincón de tranquilidad y salud. El deporte te cura hasta los males del alma. PRACTICALO allí está todo lo que deseas de un gimnasio...es un pequeño paso para ti, pero un gran logro para tu salud...

Weights are not reracked or reracked in the right place. You have to hunt down your weights especially the 20lb and under. Too many dudes who don’t know how to pick up after themselves.

The AC is non-existent, especially in the weight room area.

I do see cleaning staff but the sanitizer spray bottles are hard to find and usually not next to the paper towel dispensers.

Overall, I would rather stick to Planet Fitness, with AC cool air, cleaner and well maintained equipment.

It is always dirty when I go into the pool area. I always have to ask someone at the desk to send someone to clean it. They do send someone and they do clean it. But it is always around 8:30 or 9 a.m. and they open at 6 a.m. and it does not look like it is clean from the day before
