I called yesterday because I left my basketball behind and when I went in to pick it up the employee at the front desk mentioned that it was a good thing I didn't wait until tomorrow because they're shutting the place down... They didn't renew the lease so apparently they're being replaced by medical offices! 😥 Sad day for locals...

I've been coming to this LA Fitness since November mainly coming to the sauna only. Yesterday I was in the sauna sitting down on my phone when I felt something crawling on my ankle when I look down I see a huge cockroach literally the size of my pinky I freaked out smacked it off & went outside and scrubed my ankle with soap and water when I went back in the girl in there had said that if this was the first time id seen a cockroach in here and I said yes, she said that she has seen cockroaches in here before. I cannot believe it after I was done talking to her i turn on the flashlight on my phone and I bent down to look underneath the wooden benches and I see more big cockroaches the same size I was absolutely shocked and disgusted. I cannot believe that one was on me I'm literally traumatized and I will literally never get over this I literally cried cuz I'm so disgusted I have never seen cockroaches that big ever. Ladies look out for cockroaches in the sauna

Regular member here, I like the classes offered. But sometimes staff doesn't acknowledge you when you enter. Sometimes there isnt anyone at the entrance to check you in. Lights in the sauna are always off and members get mad when you turn them off. Staff says it's supposed to be off but the place is very dark and hard to walk in. Almost fell once because I couldn't see.

This gym has horrible customer services
Manager very disrespectful. Obviously doesn’t take his job serious. The gym is very dirty and most of the workout machines are out of order and take months to fix them.
3 of their water fountains don’t even work poor quality of maintenance.
Do not recommend any body take a guest because their trainers don’t even know what they are doing.
Been at the gym for a year and it’s been just bad visits.

Not the best, you have to deal with parking which is annoying, it’s not the biggest gym so if it does get crowded it will be a hassle. Upstairs areas gets real hot at certain points in the day and you will be sweating after one set if your equipment is in that area. Also a very interesting layout vs other gyms.. I will update my stars if this place gets better or worse.

The gym is small so if you come on monday and tuesday evening, expect to wait for the machines you plan to use.
The worst part is at the lifting section. People use the weights and leave them everywhere. No employee is positioned to keep track of these. Countless time have we not been able to find the weight we need and ended up giving up.

The gym has a good selection of equipment and they mostly are in good working order. It’s one of the less clean LA Fitness locations and a few years ago I caught a fungal toe nail infection from walking around barefoot in the men’s locker room. Since then I’ve learned to always wear flip flops if using the showers and use an anti-fungal spray on my feet.

If I could give this review 0 stars I would. First off, I came in to try out this gym with a free 3 day pass. I was greeted by a man by the name of Giovanni who said he wanted to speak with me and it would only be 10-15 minutes of my time. That was a lie.. it turned into a 45 minute discussion with me and the two people I was with getting up and leaving.
The first red flag was when Giovanni asked me and the 2 people I was with what we do and that he would not tell us how to do our jobs. He also bragged about all these sales he's made in just a day..Second off, when we were on the tour, I told Giovanni we had appointments to be at and that we don't have much time for this. So he ended the tour and we walked back to his desk. At his desk he showed us some slides and wanted us to buy a gym membership right then and there. Myself and the two others who I came with declined stating we were trying out different gyms to see which one fit us best and we would need to try out this gym as well to see if it felt like a good fit. Apparently Giovanni didn't listen and asked us a couple minutes later what he could do to get us to sign up TODAY. We declined again saying we have to try it before we buy it. So then he brushed that off and started to get a bit unreasonable. He said he would keep our drivers license while we workout and follow up with him once we were done. I told him I was not comfortable with him keeping my drivers license and the two people that were with me weren't comfortable with that either. This is when things really flipped. Giovanni started to insult us and stated that he needed our IDs to put us in the system for a FREE 3 DAY TRIAL? Okay??? So he put one of my male friends in the system then moved on to me and after entering my info he wanted to take my picture. I was not comfortable with that and the fact that he didn't take my male friends picture when he was Inputted. This was enough for me and I was very uncomfortable. Me and the two people I was with ended up walking out and leaving. While we were headed for the door I heard Giovanni in the background say " unbelievable..I can't believe they did that.."

Note to Giovanni- please go get some lessons on how to sell a service to someone. Being aggressive, insulting, and rude isn't going to get you there. I wish I would have asked for Giovanni's manager.... unbelievable to you to Giovanni. Not sure how you got your job.

I have been coming to this gym for over 5 years mainly to play basketball and sometimes to lift weights. The courts themselves are nice, competition is beginner to mid level(max) if your trying to run acouple of games and stay on the floor bring or team up with 2-3 heads that can play a little if not you will probably be playing with beginner type players. The weights are all over then place people dont really feel they need to re-rack there own weights. You have to search for dumbells most of the time. Take care of your belongings work out be respectful and your good. Most folks there are Hispanic .acouple Whites.Blacks.Asians.But everyone is pretty cool..

I'm just hating their customer service because they are never willing to help you out. It seems like they only care about money because Marcelo can treat you nice when you get a membership, but when you don't want a trainer he treats you like a poor and starts saying stuff that he is not supposed to. I don't wanna go to this location because of this guy, I might go to Golds gym which is around that area if Marcelo still work there.

The ventilation is terrible. The smell of chlorine from the pool is so bad it triggered a migraine. This is my local LA Fitness and it's so bad that I refuse to workout here. I have to drive to the Irvine/Jamboree location (which is very nice). Really making me consider signing up for another gym.

This gym has the potential to be a great gym, but they just don't seem to care about the details. For instance, their restroom/shower/sauna area in the men's locker room has absolutely zero ventilation. It's always nasty, muggy, and stifling hot, but they do nothing about it. Often people will prop the door to the locker room open in an effort to create some airflow, but that just makes the whole locker room hot and muggy too. Equipment is often broken and it takes a while for them to fix it. Pull up bars and lat pull handles are padded and the pads slip, making the bars hard to grip and the workout less effective. Mentioning these things to staff or management has been completely ineffective. They honestly just don't seem to care. There is no towel service and no snack bar or snack machine. If you run low on energy during a workout, tough luck. Also, their selection of handles on pull down machines is slim, and it's rare that you get the handle you'd prefer to use. Like I said, other than that it has the potential to be an excellent gym. How about giving it a little effort guys, and listening to your members? If you do, I'd be happy to change my review.

DONT GET SCAMMED BY FREDDY! I warn you about some of the staff at these gyms. In particular the Personal Training Director, Freddy or Frederick Falk who will lie to you to the last word just to get you to sign up for personal training services. I have been a member for 6 years and have never had a problem until I signed up for personal training through Freddy. I signed up for training just to try it out since he lied that I may cancel before 45 business days and get all my money back. When it got too expensive he offered to cancel my contract and offered a cheaper plan for my brother and I. Once again I trusted in him as he signed me up and DID NOT cancel my first contract. Short story, I ended up with 3 contracts due to his lies and was being charged $770 a month! As soon as I found out, I tried cancelling and of course they gave me the run around. I contacted Joe Torrecillas (Joe T) the regoinal vice president for help and he has not done anything to help instead he made an appointment to meet with me and didn't show up, and over the phone insinuated I was lying along with other customers. I finally had to cancel my debit card so they would stop automatically deducting from my account. After talking to other members, I found out there are many others who went through this terrible experience. No wonder you are ranked top seller Freddy! For being a director, Freddy, you really damage the image of LA Fitness staff as being honest or caring about your clients. You are the typical sales minded person who only cares about making a sale rather than meeting the needs of your customers.
