Overall I enjoy coming to this gym. Plenty of machines and I usually don't have to wait long for the more popular ones to free up.

I have to second the complaint about the ventilation in the bathrooms though. Especially when the sauna is on the humidity can be a tad suffocating, which is compounded by the bad smell.

The customer service can also be a hit or miss. The clean shaved dark skinned guy at the front desk in particular can be super standoffish and unwelcoming. He'll scan you in without even saying hi or looking you in the face. There is a long, dark haired, fair skinned, woman with high energy that is always a joy to interact with. I wish I knew her name for this review. The woman deserves a raise. Positive energy like that is, ironically, rare in big box gyms like this.

edit: +1 star because in the months since my complementary session with trainer Kai I have experienced a greater rate of progress in my fitness goals because of some of the pointers he gave me. I likely won't be employing his services but, for anyone who needs the extra guidance and motivation, I am sure he is a great trainer.

Gym itself is fine, your normal slightly worn down LA fitness, but apparently somebody forgot to tell the members that your not supposed to inject yourself with every steroid imaginable until you can’t remember how to put away your stuff correctly. Don’t think there is a single DB in the correct spot, equipment all over, ppl just dropping stuff anywhere on the ranks, sitting around on equipment socializing without letting others work in. For an LA fitness gym itself is 4/5, actual gym etiquette 0/5. Highly recommend the staff starts actually calling people out.

The equipment is pretty average, they are missing a few important machines. The main complaint is the locker rooms. These locker rooms are probably the most disgusting ones I’ve ever seen. There’s always a sink not working and it is so badly ventilated that the smell of piss never leaves. For the amount of money given and the popularity of LA Fitness, this location is terrible.

They're scammers and will convince you to sign up with a contract, and when it's time to cancel, you'll have to fight tooth and nail to get it done. They'll use any tactics to keep charging you and making excuses. It was only after I threatened them with legal papers that they began to cower. Glad I got all my money back in the end, but they deserve repercussions for sketchy services.

Visiting from New York , front desk charged us to use the gym for one hour. LA fitness you can take 2 free guests and we are a member of 20 years at LA Fitness . Don’t recommend this location. Overall its a nice gym. Its big. Its clean enough for me. There is an abundance of machines & amenities. So far the front desk has been very nice, they always smile at me. Thats important. The monthly fee's are very reasonable. It can get very crowded at times & there is very little to no gym etiquette though. Kind of an anything goes atmosphere there. Not really a gym where one can do any serious long term weight training without being hindered in one way or another. I have much difficulty finding ropes. Sometimes there isn't any. The cardio equipment with an exception to the treadmills needs to be replaced with more modern ergonomic cardio machines that are easier on the body. Like the one's they have at gold's Valencia. May I suggest getting rid of the astroturf for "functional training" ? Nobody every uses it for purposes other than wanting to be seen or seeing others. It's a waste of space.

There are many reasons why I have chosen this gym to attend. Just to start off, the smile by the front desk staff when you check in, makes you feel welcome!
The Zumba classes that are instructed by Lidia every Saturday morning at 8:30 are my favorite! Her passion for what she does is clearly translated into her teaching. Lidia’s positive energy not only motivates, but encourages you to continue, when you feel like giving up. Thank you Lidia for being an inspirational Zumba instructor!

"I'm extremely disappointed with the customer service and amenities at this gym. The front desk staff, particularly the girls, have displayed a rude attitude, which at times seems borderline racist. I chose to trial this gym due to its convenient location near my workplace and the availability of a sauna. However, out of the three months I paid for, the sauna was only operational for half of that time. When I contacted management to voice my concerns, their solution was for me to use other locations. Unfortunately, this defeats the purpose of why I chose this specific gym—it's proximity to my workplace, the advertised amenities, and the classes I'm interested in. Meh. Honestly front desk people for the longest time have made me feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome just by attitude alone, I’m not saying I’m not expecting backflips when I come in but jeez it’s like smiling hurts you or something. Going out of my way to go to a different location now.

First time doing a fitness assessment at LA Fitness Brittney was amazing would recommend her. Sadly they do not allow her to do personal training even though she does the initial first time training with you , which is a bummer if they would have allowed her to continue to be my trainer for the rest of the sessions I would have totally signed up for personal training. They do not have female trainers. I would also recommend for that to change. Manager mentioned near locations have female trainers but as my home gym I would prefer to be at the same location instead of having to go elsewhere to get the service. In that case I would just make the other location my gym. I feel like the assessment as it was done with her and you build some what of a relationship the option to choose her as your trainer should be given. Not sign up with a random trainer who you don’t even know and does not know your goals. I’d basically have to go over everything all over again which makes no sense. Over all 5 stars for Brittney. Thank you for making my first time at the gym in a long time welcoming and motivating! PS if they change the rules ad allow you to be a personal trainer let us know I would not hesitate to sign up!

Cleaning staff works hard to keep the gym spotless. This must be one of the cleanest gyms I’ve been to.
Docked off a star because if you don’t go at 5am, you will feel like you just walked into a 18 over nightclub. Always crowded. Herds of kids walking in together, literally hanging out and chatting around the equipment. The women’s bathroom and locker room turns into a photography studio with girls twisted around taking pictures of their backside- all while I’m in the background getting changed.
If you’re serious about working out at this gym, go at 5am or good luck getting equipment or experiencing common decency.

Avoid this branch if you can. Terrible atmosphere and gym etiquette. Lots of kids being loud and grumpy seniors camping the machines. The employees are always on their phones so they rarely do any cleaning and they never organize the dumbbell rack. It's a mess. I would agree with some of the previous comments. I went to the gym today to look for a jump rope I lost and one of the employees followed me around the gym. Just to be sure I stopped when I thought I was being followed. I would not recommend coming to this gym if you are a person of color or enjoy working on in s clean space. The staff will follow you around the gym. I’ve left review for pre ious LA fitness locations. LA fitness is no longer concerned for your safely or keeping the space clean. I make sure to show common courtesy and pickup trash at each location. So far my experience with multiple LA fitness locations has not been great and declined over time. I’m pretty sure they don’t like the fact that I leave reviews. This is the culture that LA fitness has created. Be careful when leaving a review if your a google reviewer leaving reviews at multiple locations. They will red flag you and make you s target. This gym has become too crowded and full of people with no gym etiquette. Members spend more time on their phones than actually training. Just in town visiting relatives and needed a gym for a few days. I work out at LA Fitness at home, so I decided to check it out. Ryan took solid care of me! The gym is finally open! Wearing a mask is required while inside the facility. Members can complete a quick phone scan for entry...and you may be asked to submit to a contactless temp check. All in all a small price to pay to get that body moving.

Covid Re-Opening: Please follow through with enforcing LA County mandates or close back down! Gyms are high risk. If your staff in incapable of getting members to follow mask wearing criteria then close back down! You are putting too many people at risk to plaly this game. Pros: good staff, great equipment, and not as packed as the other gyms.
There's also a Walmart and fast food restaurants nearby for a quick meal. Plenty of parking.

Cons: Where is the maintenance staff? Also this place has an Athlete's Foot infestation, clean your floors and lockers more often, there's hairs inside lockers and the floors need constant cleaning. I keep getting Athlete's foot in this place more than the previous gyms I have been in!
