Update: This place closed a few months ago because the landlord wanted to raised their rent from $30,000 per month to something higher. Ridiculous greedy landlords

I would recommend this LA Fitness over the old Bally's in Studio City. Not only is there a great amount of parking, the staff is very friendly, and the equipment is clean.

I did not get the sales pitch that I got at Bally's which is now LA Fitness. It's only a few minutes from my house and you don't have to wait on equipment they have plenty.

Everyone there was very helpful and friendly, and one person even took the time to show me how to use one of the pieces of equipment and that I was unfamiliar with. You don't normally get that kind of treatment unless you pay for a trainer or they're following you around like a little puppy dog looking for a membership.

Great place to go, great location, and great people!

For an LA Fitness. It's a good location with totally decent gear. The other side of the coin is it's oversold and often too congested insofar quite often if you see an open machine, you better grab it or a nanosecond later, someone else will.
Also, the bottom floor has an active roped off personal trainer area. When the trainers are there with their clients, they blast music on a Bluetooth speaker, so if you want a pleasant workout with your headphones on and music of your choice, forget it.

First time I leave a gym after warm up. No heavy dumbbells. Half of the machines where broken. Pathetic really. I've been to more than 50 gyms, and I've never felt the need to leave one because it didn't have the machine or dumbbells that I wanted to use. This gym should be closed; it's occupying space for something that can be more helpful. PATHETIC.

It’s small but it’s a gym that no one really goes too so it’s nice if you want to beat the crowd at the other la fitness. Everyone expects bouji stuff when they hit the gym but honestly all the do is walk at the gym the people that complain that about this gym here. This gym is golden.

Small workout areas with old or outdated equipment.

The showers leaves nothing to the imagination with no privacy and the drains are stopped up with hair.

I visited this location at least 7 times and I don't understand how LA Fitness can put their name on this building.

The air conditioning has been off now for nearly a month. It's been ninety degrees and more outside. I don't believe them when they say they are fixing it. They are too cheap to fix it. Employees are all very overweight and not a good representation of a fitness center. They had a pretty girl at the front desk who was a great front desk representation, gorgeous, polite, helpful but she was fired and replaced with rude, overweight women who are either snacking or on the phone with poor customer service. Showers are dirty and filled with hair.

This location is horrible an Asian man offered my husband money to sleep with me like if I was a prostitute or something. They an older man offered to scrub my husband's back while in the shower. This was like 2 years ago. 2 days ago, we decided to give it another chance but this time a white mailer with spiky hair asked my husband what his sexual preference is and my husband told him he was married and straight. Despite him saying that he ask my husband if he could "break him in". My husband and I left immediately. It was extremely uncomfortable.

I've been going to this gym for years. No it's not the most up to date, but the equipment works well. The staff is friendly as is the other members who use this location. The only problem and it's a big one is they refuse to fix the A/C. It was broken most of last summer and they brought in some fans. The same story this summer> I do not know why they can't get this fixed. Can't work out in a gym where the temp is over 100 even with fans.

Great atmosphere, convenience, and staff at this place. They have everything you need, and it's not too crowded either. The personal training program is also something I would highly recommend for anyone who is just getting started on learning how to work out. Many trainers I've worked with don't take the same "building blocks" approach that these guys do. Definitely worth checking out peeps!

It's like a labyrinth, a maze to navigate in hopes of locating the machine you came to use. Once discovered, remember which nook and cranny you're in, but don't let the walls of mirrors throw off your navigational skills.

Yes, this location is kinda ghetto... kinda janky, but will do in a pinch, when you just need to shower before meeting up with your peeps. And if you're lucky, you'll pick a locker right on top of Rain Man's, and get to carry on gawky conversations while in various stages of undress.

Interesting note... the free weight room is in the basement... wasnt Buffalo Bill's torture chamber in the basement? Methinks so. I kept an awkward eye on anyone that descended that staircase

Was asked to leave by an overweight instructor today and said I was a distraction while doing squats. That was the last straw of this overly crowded, crusty LA gym.
They need more space, front desk people are always sweet.
Hope this place gets shut down soon. It's a pile of crap.

I don't recommend this particular L.A Fitness gym to anybody. Whoever runs this place clearly does not care at all! Dust, Dirt, Mold and Rust almost everywhere! How can you possibly work on your body if the place in which you do so is so digesting and dirty? Not to mention the outdated/old equipment they have occupying the entire gym. What's even more puzzling is the fact that the Universal City LA Fitness is less than 5 miles away and 100x better. Equipment is well kept, if not new! They have a Basketball Court, Jacuzzi and even a Smoothie Bar at the Universal location. All something this particular location DOES NOT HAVE! Save yourself the gas and headache and head over to Universal L.A Fitness. You'll thank me later.

This might be the worst gym I have been a member of. I have been a member for about 2 years and day by day this gym gets worse. It is NEVER clean. Cardio machines are always stained with dry sweat marks. Dirt build ups on the machines because they go for MONTHS never being wiped down by members or cleaning staff. This used to be a Ballys location, which hasn't seen a good cleaning or basic maintenance since the first day Ballys opened, yet alone when LA Fitness took it over. The dust build up is worse than a single 20 yr old males apartment who lacks all personal hygiene. In fact thats what this LA Fitness lacks, Hygiene. The locker room for the men is so old, musty and sweaty I do not understand how people take showers there. I can not even use any of their lockers due to how disgusting they are. I have to walk around the gym with my gym bag in tow. The soap dispensers, when they are full, are filled with water down soap. which i believe is to "reduce" operating costs. The equipment is constantly breaking down, and out of service for weeks. The equipment is sold old, and maintained so poorly that it is rusting from all the dirty seat building up over the YEARS of use. And even if you wanted to wipe down the equipment, half the time paper towels are MIA, or the watered down disinfectant is MIA. I have never seen a gym so poorly maintained that holes constantly pop up in the ceilings leaking water, and god knows what all over equipment and members. I bet If LA Fitness corporate just spent 5 minutes in this gym they would be horribly embarrassed by the state it is in. And instead of finding ways to reduce operating costs, why not properly maintain the facility. That way you can increase your membership base. Its so disgusting that my next review will be sent to the department of health.

I have to go after 10 at nights, otherwise it's crowded. Friday it closes at 10, kind of annoying that is so early and sat/sun closes at 8 I believe, which is kind of ridiculous.

It's the best LA Fitness in LA that I know of, at least in this area.

Had been my gym when it was Bally's and was open 24 hours which worked with my schedule. Then LA Fitness absorbed it in their takeover and the hours became very strange so switched to 24 Hour Fitness. True, it is far from being the most up to date place (gang showers & older equipment) it tends not to be crowded. One big con is the lack of temp control in the club...if it is cool in the club then the locker room is a sauna and next day it will be the opposite.

If you are trying to get a quick work out with the crowed at the big gym you should go here. The layout is sort of a jigsaw puzzle with the weight room in the basement. The gym does needmore upgraded equipment.

Look, it ain't pretty, but it works. After going to the other location down the street and the overcrowded Van Nuys location, I will take a little bit of rust any day. I can go here and get my workout done in under an hour since I don't have to wait on things to open up. You don't have to constantly search for the elusive 35lb dumbell because guess what? It's actually on the rack where it belongs! The staff is polite and there's only a minimal amount of weirdos who work out here.

LA Fitness aquired this gym from Bally's a couple of years ago even though they have a brand new one less than a mile down the street on Cahuenga Blvd by Universal. They have done a couple of upgrades but its still the same old Bally's gym.

They have all the usual gym equipment with a free-weights room on the basement. Equipment is dated but functional. They recently re-did the jacuzzi in the back.

I frequent this gym rather than the brand new one down the street because there is no wait for the equipment when I go in the mornings. The one on Universal /Cahuenga is much larger but also super busy.
