While the gym has all the equipment you would want, for such a large company you would think they would have employees who are responsible for cleaning the gym every night and placing equipment back where it belongs. As someone who comes on early for opening I can see what disarray the training area is left in and often have to clean areas up for a place to work out. It looks BAD for the personal trainers who have to come in and train people who have paid for a service in a space thats in complete shambles. Every other gym ive been to always has things tidy and in place before closing for the night...just a thought

This LA Fitness location is really good! They have a kids’ play zone, and the staff there are amazing – they actually play, draw, and take care of the kids, so I can enjoy my workout without worrying. The gym itself is clean, and even during peak times you can usually find equipment available. They also have a pool and sauna, which makes it even better. Definitely recommend this location!

It’s a great gym with lots of space and enough equipment to get a squat rack without a weight. That’s the best. However, this review is inspired specifically by Gail. Met her today when I was considering joining a new gym and signed up immediately because of her. I didn’t visit any of my other planned gyms.

I was so impressed by how much genuine love and respect she showed for the guests that I had to. While showing me around the gym, every few minutes a new person would say hello to her. She knew every gym member she greeted by name, she knew their story and asked about them with genuine care. When walking along with me she would say things like “she is so kind” or “I’m so proud of him” about the people she greeted.

This isn’t something I’ve ever experienced with a large gym and it made me feel so comfortable when I had initially entered intimidated and nervous. She really is special and I’m glad I get to go to a gym with her in it. Truly.

Not surprised that other people in reviews have had issues with Dustin. Completely incompetent manager who apparently doesn’t know how to read contracts either. Asked for a refund when I was charged after requesting to cancel. Dustin DENIED my refund request and said I had to cancel more than 3 days before billing. I asked him to show me exactly where it says that and he claimed in my member agreement. He finally copied and pasted the supposed language in agreement which stated: “A cancellation notice postmarked less than 5 business days before your next billing date may result in one more Dues billing. In either case, if such an additional billing occurs, LA Fitness will refund that billing. “

I asked him if he actually read what he sent me and the only reply was that my refund was now approved. LOL.

The gym itself is decent, but their business practices are super shady.

The trainers here are truly insufferable. Very rude and commandeering, acting like the training area is only specifically for them when all walks of life are allowed to workout in that specific area. While I understand it might be "policy" for trainers to snag any dumbbells, mats, or benches while in use by someone else when it is busy and they need it for their clients, the way they approach it needs some work. To act entitled toward everything in that area and not adhering to gym etiquette by just waiting or asking how long someone has left with the workout equipment, is just rude. There is one trainer specifically annoying about it, don't know his name & never cared to ask. He has tattoos and a permanent red face with teeth that scare you when you look at them. Not only is he very abrasive with the way he approaches people about taking their equipment, he is also a creep. Always walking around w his work shirt off and flexing in the mirror or doing one single set of curls and walking off. Always staring at women's rears and flirting with people on the job. There is another trainer who has hit on me specifically which is just inappropriate to do while on the clock. Seriously you guys need to get your workers better because the second the tatted trainer took my bench today I cancelled my membership. I don't think $50 a month is worth the possibility of my workout getting interrupted by disgusting and annoying trainers who don't know what gym etiquette means in the slightest. DO BETTER!!!!! DONT GO HERE!!!!

Also side note: stairmaster are very limited and are almost always out of service. Dumbbells are rarely ever in their correct spot and sooooo hot inside!!!

I’m writing this to warn everyone about LA Fitness’s deceptive billing practices and complete lack of accountability.

In 2022, I signed up for a new membership using the same name and email I had used years earlier. What I didn’t know was that LA Fitness had kept my old, frozen account “active” and continued charging me $10/month for over THREE YEARS without any notice. That’s over $360 in charges for a membership I never used — and didn’t even know I still had.

Their system didn’t notify me. No emails. No alerts. Nothing. I discovered this myself while reviewing my billing history — and when I reached out to resolve it, the response was worse than the billing error itself.

I contacted their manager, Dustin Richardson, multiple times by email, fully explaining the situation and asking for a refund and a written record of all charges under my name. Instead of helping, he avoided the issue entirely, gave me vague non-answers, and then went completely silent. It’s now obvious that Dustin is either unwilling or completely unfit to deal with legitimate customer issues.

I gave them every opportunity to respond professionally. I waited. I followed up. I was ignored.

I’ve now filed formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau, the California Department of Consumer Affairs, and the Federal Trade Commission. I’m also working with my bank to dispute every one of these charges.

If you're a current or former LA Fitness member, I strongly suggest you:

Check your billing history for duplicate or unauthorized charges

Never trust that your account is properly canceled or frozen

Understand that management (specifically people like Dustin Richardson) will not take accountability or help you

This company continues to profit off people who don’t even know they’re being charged — and they ignore you when you catch them. I’m sharing this so others don’t get burned like I did.

I have been going here for around 3 and a half years, and the layout is not great they have the chronic problem that all gyms have which is it is 70% cardio shit and 30% actual lifting equipment. Then there is the staff idk why they don't hire floaters who like put weights back and stuff but they don't. The front desk people are nice and everything just the management of the gym is awful.

They're scammers and will convince you to sign up with a contract, and when it's time to cancel, you'll have to fight tooth and nail to get it done. They'll use any tactics to keep charging you and making excuses. It was only after I threatened them with legal papers that they began to cower. In the year 2025 where everything is done via an app, website or over the phone, LA Fitness operates like they are in 1985, tried to cancel my membership after not attending the gym in months, it simply cannot be done by a push of a button or call with an associate over the phone, or email, they still resort to old tactics that make it hard to cancel such as printing a forms, buying a stamp (which I have not bought one since 2010) & mailing said form to god knows where.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at the Golden Valley LA Fitness in Santa Clarita, especially regarding the sales manager, Cassandra Lopez. I’ve been a loyal member of LA Fitness for over three years, but her presence has completely altered the atmosphere of the gym.

From the moment I spoke with her, her attitude was unwelcoming, and she came across as rude and dismissive. I overheard her talking about me in a way that felt inappropriate, and when I confronted her, she acted like everything was fine, despite multiple people mentioning how unpleasant she is. It’s clear that her energy is affecting the environment of the gym, as several staff members have even expressed how her behavior has caused distress among them.

Additionally, she told me I couldn’t say “hi” to people in the sales department, which was a strange and off-putting comment. It’s troubling to see such negativity from someone in a leadership position, and it has made me reconsider my continued membership at this location.

I sincerely hope the management addresses this issue, as the gym has always been a positive place for me until now. It's unfortunate to see such a toxic energy being brought into a community space.

I came here early in the morning so it wasn’t busy. This is a large clean gym, probably the nicest LA fitness I’ve been in. They have all of the basics, including racquetball and a pool. Parking is plentiful and free.
While I didn’t visit during peak hours I can only imagine how busy this place gets. It’s a gorgeous gym in an area where people like to look gorgeous.

Had a recent bad experience, I have been coming to the gym for maybe a year now. My Dad was in town and wanted to visit the gym as he wants to sign up for one back home, out of state. The app is not intuitive as how to give one out or for someone else to be set up for success. Upon entering we met with Gail (Red hair, mask below face) who said it was not filled out correctly and that she doesn't deal with free pass sign ups and doesn't know how to do it. She than said "She does not mean to be rude", which came across as rude and shooed up off to try and fill it out. Upon getting it filled out was told there is normally a $20 fee for the free pass but and understands its off putting but could waive the fee for the FREE pass. We left, my father was not impressed and won't be joining an LA Fitness now.

I've been a member for 26 years and my wife for two years. I paid my membership all through Covid as well. My wife needed to cancel her membership yesterday because she has been to busy to come. The Operation manager and staff were very rude to us. They were so kind when she signed up but when she needed to cancel her membership they were disgusting to us. I've never been treated so poorly.

The Valencia LA Fitness is nice and spacious with plenty of machines for cardio, areas designated for HIIT and Pilates, and an entire room full of weight training equipment. Only four stars because they definitely have a hard time keeping up with maintenance on a lot of their equipment, but overall this gym is clean, quiet and a great place to work out.

Good spacious gym, lots of equipment...all in all similar to other LA's/Esportas in the chain. Only complaint is members tend to act like they're at an LA in Atlanta, Detroit, or Chicago if you catch my drift. Just leave your plates and dumbbells anywhere! I think if I were management, I would address problem with membership suspensions/terminations and people not just sitting at the desk playing on their phones, but trying to help keep the place orderly for the members that actually care. I had a far beyond terrible experience here about two months ago at the kids club and with management. My son was left under the supervision of their kids club staff and somehow he was able to obtain a pepper spray (a careless staff had brought it into the kids play area). My son is under 8 years old and did not know what it was. Curiousity led him to accidentally spray his body. He let the staff there know, however, they did not let us (his parents) know. He was picked up by his dad and not a word was relayed to him about the incident. We got home and had him shower not knowing that he was still contaminated. The water reactivated the chemical and he shouted and screamed for a while and we didn't know why he was in such great pain. It wasn't until after he was able to calm down that he explained a staff told him he pepper sprayed himself. The next day, no one followed up with me. So I called at the end of my work day and engaged in a very insensitive conversation with the manager there, Moises Miran. At first, he appeared apoligetic but after a few minutes I got the feel that he was trying to cover his staff and avoid accountability. Going as far as saying that it might have been my son who brought the pepper spray in. Even after I told him no one in our household owns it (hence him not knowing what it was). I decided to seek higher management because at this point I did not feel comfortable with sending my son back to that kids club and I, myself, felt uncomfortable with management and staff there. I asked for corporate number and someone there told me they were not able to give that to me. I ended up receiving corporate number from a kind staff at a different club. Somehow, the request to speak to corporate was re-routed to Moises and he called me. The 2nd conversation we had was worse than the 1st. I usually am a well composed individual but it really felt like Moises was avoiding accountability of his staff. I was asking for assurance that this situation wouldnt happen again to any child and he couldn't come up with a solution and seemed to be getting frustrated with me that I was pressing the issue. He kept asking me what I want, however, I didn't know how to answer that because I am moreso seeking comfort and assurance to go back with my son. A different manager from corporate ended up giving me a call and some things were resolved. However, she did not follow up with me. At this point its been about 2 months and I don't feel comfort and/or trust with management in this location

I love coming here because they have everything that I need to get my workout done. My biggest complaint is that it can be very dirty and absolutely noticeable. The floor seems like it has not been cleaned in days. There are balls of dust all over the gym and people never throw away their own trash. I just wish after reading my review they will work on making our community gym that we pay good money for a bit more cleaner.

Zumba by LDIA I.

My wife and I work out every Tuesday at the Zumba class taught by LDIA I.. Her classes are very interesting because we can learn exercise and dance together. She is friendly to everyone. Even beginners can easily follow it, and I burn about 550 kcal after this class. I want to make her classes known to more people.

Had a less than stellar experience here thanks to the Assistant Manager. This LA fitness will waste your time while squeezing as much money out of you as possible and give your guest the runaround. The facility is okay but their policies are convoluted at best and downright predatory at worst. Why would you give a member multiple VIP guest passes if their guest can only activate them once every 6 months?? So that means you (the member) can’t work out with a friend unless they either sign up to be a member or cough up $20 for the day. You might consider buying a 1 month membership, but their policy makes it such that you have to get an additional month (first and last) so you’re practically forced to buy 2 months. There are other gyms out there with better guest policies and the same if not better equipment.

I like L.A. fitness classes especially Zumba with Severo M at the Sepulveda one, Aqua Fitness with Annuel at the Universal Studio and I can continue naming many more. The facilities are comfortable and clean and the machines are in great condition. One thing I would like the managers of some facilities to improve is keeping the wet areas, especially the sauna clean reinforcing customers to use appropriate shoes for it and not walking or running tennis shoes.

I went in last week to activate my one week pass they gave me lot of issues and didn’t let me workout so then I tried to sign up for mentorship and then they told me there is big fee for signing up and they and lock me into contract the sales people are very dishonest and are trying to squeeze all the money out of you I have 4 daughters as a single dad and work 3 jobs I don’t have the kind of situation to be able to afford this they can’t even give an affordable mentorship for people to come and exercise!!!!!!!!!

Got an official pass to try the gym and drove to there for 30 min. When I arrived at 06:30 I was told that I couldn’t get in because my pass was not activated and I would have to wait till the manager arrives at 08:30.
The lady at the desk said this policy is on LA fitness official site, but when I checked, I found no such thing.
There was nothing on the pass to say that it had to be activated after 08:30.
She demanded I pay $20 in order for me to try the Gym.
I explained that I was not carrying a payment.
I do not believe it is fair for a potential client to drive 30 minutes to the Gym only to be told wait 2 hours or come back another time.

I have seen people inspecting the machines today, and they all seem to be in good working condition.

This gym is spacious and has a great amount of equipment to get a workout in. There is a juice bar which has amazing prices. Basketball court has just been updated.
There's also a racquetball court which is very fun and amazing to get in the cardio going.

The staff is amazing. Although I don't blame the Janitor for the sometimes dirty locker room. It could use some fans to dry out the rooms when it is mopped.

Treadmills speed up and slow down and don't have consistent speed. Some also shake a lot for no apparent reason. The staff doesn't wipe down the equipment and neither do the people exercising (I never saw anyone other than myself and my wife wipe down the equipment). Sometimes the treadmills would be covered in sweat. They also make cancelling difficult; neither their fancy app nor phone service allows you to cancel and the recommended way on Google is to cancel the charge with your bank. They charged us an extra 80 dollars because we couldn't go in person to cancel and when we finally got there in person they didn't even ask for ID or anything that would necessitate being there in person! Bad business practices, bad employees and bad gym equipment.

The gym has all of the things you would expect. The thing that is horrible is that the weights are never put back they way they should be. The 20s are where the 60s should be. The 10s are at the 20 and the 90s. Etc. Etc. No one cares. Most people are socializing more than they are working out.

This place is horrific. People must be besides to give this anything higher than 2 stars. The prices are decent, BUT everything here is either broken or too disgusting to touch.

Every bench is torn. Every treadmill has some type of malfunction (tv, power, gears, etc). Every dumbbell is torn or chipped. Equipment is missing. The list is endless.

The outside esthetics of the gym is quite cute, more of Tuscan style so walking in I guess my expectations were already high. This La Fitness offers HIIT, Pilates, Personal Training, cycling classes, a basketball court, 4 racquet ball courts, 3 swim lanes, jacuzzi and weight room. The cardio area has high celling’s because there is an upstairs cardio area. The weight room was so hot and dirty, I am not sure when’s the last time someone had cleaned behind or in between the machines. There are only 2 sanitizing stations in the entire facility, 1 in the cardio room and the second in the weight room. It took me a while to find the one in the weight room, I ask the young lady in the cardio room who was slightly cleaning the machines where they might keep them and she pointed to the 1 In the room and when asked about the weight room she said, “Oh, I don’t know?” Like girl you’ve must’ve never cleaned that room that’s why it’s so filthy. It felt stuffy and uncomfortable! I am in the area at least once a month, I would never come back to this gym, no thank you!

If you plan on coming here on weekdays and don’t come at specific times where the gym is relatively empty, or, god forbid, you come during peak hours (4 - 8pm), then good luck getting a workout in a reasonable time. You’ll be paying over $30/month to spend most of your time in the gym waiting for equipment to open up. Weekends, early mornings, mid-day, and late night are the only times where I’ve had luck with consistently open equipment. Not convenient at all if you have other responsibilities.

I like it here, maybe because I'm rarely here during "happy hour" rush. Lots of young people. The equipment is fine and they have a basketball court. There's also FOUR water punching bags. The reason I give two stars is the men's locker room. The floor is always just FILTHY. And when leaving the showers there is never any mats for grip in the hallway going back to the locker room. You better walk extra careful, had to catch myself from slipping a few times.

I visited this location on October 16th and left my jump rope. It’s a jump rope with red handles my grandmother left to me just before she died. These have also been my motivation on days when I really needed an extra push to workout and keep going in life. My grandmother passed in 2019 and this jump rope was the only thing left to me before she died. I went back to the location to look for my jump rope and was told by another gym member that the kids that visit the gym steal and take things a lot; adding that it’s happen to her a lot at the gym. This is not great since I chose this location for safety and security. Being told by another member that my jump rope was possibly stolen because of her experience was not great. One of the most important things that I look for when visiting LA fitness locations is safely; specifically the safety of the area and people that visit the gym. I really need my jump rope back. If there is anyone reading this and sees any Kris’s or anyone at this location with a off white beige colored looking jump rope with red handles and weights; it’s mine. Please return it to the front desk. I will be meeting with the district manager to review camera footage. Thank you in advance. Be careful when going to this location. Ask the general manager or district manager to review camera footage. The children in the area steal at this location. A previous google review mentioned the the gym has become overcrowded with children similar to a school or daycare. File a police report if anything is stolen. Horrible experience.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. It’s got to be the sketchiest business I’ve ever been to. Just to get me to agree to join, they told me they have spots left in their promo for Best Buy employees (which I am not) and that they could sign me up for it! Apparently that was a lie, which I found out a month later when I was over charged and couldn’t get a refund from them at all. Instead of talking to the sales person (he was like I’ll pay out of pocket, also a lie), I started working with the manager, and he kept on making fake promises about me get refunded and switched to the other plan without having to pay anything. Three weeks came and gone and there was nothing (despite me checking in weekly), but I persisted until one day he was like we can switch you to the other plan, you just have to pay $100 in initiation fees, and then we’ll refund you (which was likely not going to happen based on my experience). That’s when I decided to cancel my membership and cut my losses. This gym will scam you! Beware.

Not to mention, it’s not very clean and good luck finding a spot to workout in the weights room. People hog machines and dumbbells forever.

-Always crowded.
- Stair masters are old. half are always broken and the rest are being used.
- Squat racks have the most awkward setup I’ve ever seen in my life. No mirrors to check your form. You will be facing the parking lot in front of an audience and hoping for the best that your form is correct.
- weight room is PACKED PACKED PACKED at all hours. Can’t even walk or move around without bumping into someone. Weights are thrown around everywhere.

This place has so much potential but feels like a meat market really more than anything else.

This gym is a big hit or miss in my opinion. Somewhat enjoyable when it is empty but If you go when it is packed good luck trying to get a good workout in. People take forever on the machines and hog free weights. Not the mention it is extremely unorganized. I swear people at this gym do not care to put the equipment/weights back where they belong. The gym has enough equipment to make this a good gym, although they no longer offer free weight curl bars.
The gym lacks promoting any gym etiquette. There is no signage asking people to re-rack their weight plates or dumbbells. There are trash cans, but still trash is left all over. No signs asking people to throw their trash away.
There is a back machine that people use weight plates to support the weighted bar. These weight plates used for support get broken and over time the weight plates begin to disappear. A few years back there were not enough 10lb. Plates to go around. Finally new plates were bought, but the back machine continues to break weight plates. It’s an easy fix, but no one has taken the initiative to repair the machine.
The weight room is not set up for cross training, yet people take up more than one piece of equipment at a time and have no intention of sharing the workout space or several sets of weights they take with them.
Once again there is no signage promoting people to only tie up one piece of equipment at a time. Or anything promoting being courteous and not taking up a machine or weight sets while texting. This gym could be so much better if someone working at LA Fitness cared enough make some changes for the betterment of all its customers. I hope some pride is instilled in the employees and they promote these recommended changes that will make for a better gym.

The new manager is approachable and has a good attitude. The gym has plenty of activities going on for everyone. Locker rooms and restrooms are always clean. Lots of cardio machines but not enough stair-masters specially during peak hours. Kids klub’s caregivers are amazing but not enough of them during “non-school” days. Unfortunately it is always packed as well but is to be expected when the gym is a great gym.

This club is really great, super clean every time I come in. The staff is very friendly. I have taken different classes this week and the instructors are beyond great! The instructions really make the classes fun and interesting. There are so many different equipment choices and everyone I have interacted with has been nice. I have one huge suggestion for improvement!! They offer Myzone® Which is the best thing! It’s a belt you wear when working out and they have 1 tv monitor that shows your stats when working out. They should really invest in monitors for the group fitness room and also out on the main floors. This would also help increase there sales for the Myzone belts. People are going to be interested in wearing them especially when in group fitness classes it is really fun to see what your heart rate is and what percentage after you are giving and compare it to others that you were working out with during class it helps motivate each other. At my old gym they had these large tv screens projecting the myzone throughout the gym. It was the best thing ever. So look into that!! It would be so worth it!! That is literally the only reason I’m giving 4 stars/more like comparing to my old gym. I do love the gym though and definitely would recommend there classes!
