I've been to several LA Fitness locations in the area and this particular one is extremely hot. The air conditioner is only on in the free weight section, the rest of the gym is sweltering. And there's not nearly enough sanitizing stations compared to the others. It's Monday at 5:30pm and the dispensers that exist haven't been refilled. Not sure if I'll be back here.

I started very recently, and the manager and the trainers were helpful in setting the foundation for what I should aim for by outlining my goal of losing weight. It has a professional atmosphere and a wide range of equipment. The place isn't too packed in the afternoons so that's a plus. Unfortunately, this location doesn't have racquetball/pickle ball/ basketball courts, so if you're looking for that then this place might not where you want to sign up in. All in all, the gym gives you most of what you need, the equipment selection is adequate and there is also a sauna and pool.

I've been a member at this LA Fitness location for about a year now, and I’ve been holding out hope that things would improve. Unfortunately, that hasn’t been the case.
My biggest complaint is how dirty the gym consistently is. Equipment is rarely wiped down by users, and staff doesn’t seem to stay on top of cleaning either. The stairmasters in particular have a noticeable odor, and the hot tub is often filled with residue and looks unhygienic.
Now that it’s summer, it feels like there’s no air conditioning at all. The gym gets unbearably hot and stuffy, and it often smells like sweat the moment you walk in.
Many of the machines are outdated or worn down. Gym goers frequently hog the equipment and from what I've seen, most of the people never return the weights properly.
The gym gets extremely crowded after 4pm-10pm, like any other gym. Except at this gym, it often feels chaotic and poorly managed during peak hours.

Overall, while the location may be convenient, the lack of cleanliness, air quality, equipment maintenance, and proper gym etiquette enforcement make it a frustrating experience.

I came to LA Fitness today because I wanted to sign up for a membership. The front desk assistant (Hispanic woman, based on appearance) spoke to me in an extremely rude and dismissive tone. She told me that no one is available right now to help with registration and that I should come back tomorrow. When I asked if I could just work out today, she said, “It’s $20,” in a very harsh tone. I said “Thank you,” and she replied, “You’re welcome,” in a sarcastic and unpleasant way.

This experience made me feel extremely unwelcome, and I left without joining. If this is how new clients are treated, I don’t see how this place earns or retains members.

I really enjoy attending this gym , I decided to begin my weight loss journey about two months ago and I have made so much progress by signing up for personal training sessions here . My personal trainer is Dakota . Me ,myself will feel motivated and then I lose it but since I started here my personal trainer has motivated me to stay consistent , he will create a meal plan for me to see quicker results . After my sessions he encourages me to be consistent by coming in on my own or assigns me some workouts to do at home as homework if I can’t find the time to go to the gym . I go home feeling a good soreness from all muscles (arms, legs, abs) that tells me I’m working all my muscles during the sessions(it’s a great feeling) . I am seeing so much progress. I’m already being complimented on the drop of weight , I am able to do the workouts for longer periods of time . Not only that, I feel better mentally , I feel better through my day . I’m glad I decided to start my weight loss journey here . I’m still not to my goal weight but I know with the progress I’ve already made, I will meet that goal soon !

This LA fitness is gotta be the best in the country. It’s got the therapeutic cold plunge when you go from the Jacuzzi to the cold plunge a few times they’ll sleep better than any psych med. Plus, you’ve got training experts like my trainer Dakota who helps me take out any frustration or anger on the weights helping discipline my flesh And making me physically healthy, which helps love my soul Intern love my spirit. No bball no heavy bags small gym area....ONLY thing redeeming about this place is the cold dip which is not working 75% of the time. The shower area has no curtains so it attracts the worst people. There is a walkway in front of the shower entrance with chairs, some guys just sit there watching people shower. Then others watch when you leave the pool area then they magically decide to leave the pool area too and what a coincidence now they happen to be showering directly across from you.

So our regular gym in north Hollywood on laurel canyon but today la bruja decided to go to the one by victory and cold water. i will hav e to agree to what most people say. equipment is a bit out dated.

I've been trying this LA Fitness since the Coldwater Canyon gym closed it's doors. The biggest problem is people on their phones, they sit on pieces of equipment texting or worse videoing themselves. It can take up to 40 minutes to get on a the squat racks because of this. They barely workout and jam up machines. The management need to stop this practice. Its at a point it needs policing. It needs enforcement. Have a member of the LA fitness staff walking around the gym to stop the texting and videoing.

This has nothing to do with kids care they are phenomenal. But the management, and pool instructor annel. The pool door is only 10 steps away from the kids care room. Luckily it is the emergency exit that does not have a door handle on the outside. For a reason. It also has written in huge print never to open the door unless an emergency, again for a reason. Unfortunately this is the second time the pool instructor has kept it open due to her being " hot (the first time) and sick (the second time)" this is a huge safety concern for my 2 year child who cannot swim. Because God forbid anything happen to the kids care employee, my child is fully capable of getting himself out as he does when I pick him up and running into the pool. All it takes is ONE second and I am positive the elderly in the pool or the car less arrogant inconsiderate instructor annel would be jumping to save him. There is no world where id be comfortable leaving my child ten steps from an open pool door while working out. Thankfully management agrees with me and does assist me by asking her to close the door as it's the rules. But today annel said no. I waited for the management to speak to their upper management but they said I have to send an email and it's hard to reach them immediately. I confronted annel with management to find ansolution but her only remark was that i must be new here and shed been there for two uears and essentially this is what she does. She was extremely rude and inconsiderate and spoke over me and did not hear my concerns. So I had to leave with my kid after almost an hour of waiting . I went home and called to cancel my membership only to be told I have to come back in. Again id be with my kid and the desk is right by that open pool door with my toddler ready to dart as he always does so coming back is not an option for me. They did not care. I'm extremely dissatisfied with everything that transpired today and I feel like I got the bad end of the stick each time as a paying customer that just needs to stay healthy and this is my only form of childcare to do so. Thanks for nothing la fitness. Don't come to this location it's already run to the ground anyways.

First off, let me tell you this gym is just filthy. Barely no cleaning wipes to be found so nobody cleans their equipment, on top of that. The restrooms are never kept up pee, stains everywhere on top of other human matter! The equipment is broken the majority of the machines don’t work, treadmills, etc. and they only have a few squat. The gym is really nice. I liked going early in the morning because there was less people around 5-9am. The crowd at that time is usually a mix of older folks who are probably retired and young professionals who are in their mid 20s and 30s. I prefer that over going in the afternoons when the young adults and high school/middle kids come in. They're just a bit too rowdy and take up a lot of space.

AVOID LA FITNESS AT ALL COSTS – HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
If I could give zero stars, I would. My elderly mother, who doesn’t even speak English, was tricked by Carla and Mel into signing a therapy contract she didn’t understand. They preyed on her vulnerability and convinced her to agree to terms that are completely unreasonable and exploitative.

The only way to cancel the contract is if her doctor provides a letter stating she’s permanently disabled—are you kidding me?! This is beyond unethical. How can a major company allow this kind of predatory behavior from their employees and management? It's disgraceful!

I’ll be taking legal action, and my attorneys will be contacting them soon. Shame on LA Fitness for taking advantage of an elderly, non-English-speaking woman. Stay far away from this place if you value honesty, integrity, and respect for your loved ones!

When I mentioned it at the front desk I was told (by the very nice cleaning crew) that the building was out of soap and that corporate hadn't delivered it yet. Today was the last straw, ROACH INFESTATION in the men's sauna. A ROACH literally crawled over my foot as I attempted to relax. Still makes my skin crawl. They don't fix the equipment that has damage and when you mention it they expect you to take pictures and report the damages to be fixed. I think me letting them know verbally should be sufficient. The worst part when I brought a guest and the manager didn't accept my 7 day pass from the app for my friend. Said he only had 1 day and had to pay $20 to enter. Began to ask me questions as to what employee was at fault and how was I to know. Then both membership manager and general manager both looked at each other and said idk if he can come in for free. My husband and I have been members of this gym for 2 years. Everything was fine until today. I was using the elliptical machine and talking on the phone with my headphones, keeping my voice quite low. I received an important work call that I couldn't miss. One of the women started touching me and asked me to stop talking on the phone. She even unplugged my machine from the socket. She went to the manager, who came and said that I could continue talking on the phone. At that moment, I unplugged her machine from the socket too, and the manager saw it. Surprisingly, he took her side and didn't believe me when I said that she was the one who started this whole scene. When I asked them to check the security cameras and see the whole picture, they refused. Moreover, I noticed many people in the gym who were talking either to each other or on the phone, and no one stopped them. But they specifically targeted me to cause this commotion this morning. I cancelled my membership after 2 years. I am relieved that such treatment is not acceptable towards a customer of their gym. I am feeling awful at the moment. I don't understand why everyone else was allowed to talk, but they decided to forbid me from doing so. Just be aware that something similar can happen to you. Manager Carla has the power to decide who can talk and who cannot.

I recently tried to go to the gym with a friend. When you have a membership, you’re allowed to bring one friend every six months unless your plan allows you to bring other people. Mine does not. I was going to use my ONE guest pass but we were brought over and told that because my friend had cancelled her membership a year ago, they couldn’t let her in with me. The guy that helped us proceeded to sit us down and ask about my friends gym and if she’s happy and told her that unfortunately, he couldn’t give her a guest pass. However, he said if we wrote down 5 names and numbers of people (without their consent) to offer them a gym trial, he would let us in. Although this seemed sketchy, we were already there and we just wrote some names down. Honestly, this left a terrible taste in my mouth. I cancelled my membership. I pay $34.99 a month for an over crowded gym, where I can’t bring a friend, and to be harassed over the phone to do a personal training sessions all the time. just more trouble than it’s worth.

LA fitness I always heard of this name and I finally went a few days ago in this location to do a membership. It’s kinda tight and concentrate location there’s not much space and there is a lot of people.

Stay away from this club. The dumbbell rack is completely disorganized and there are no equipment handles for any of the cable machines and the club refuses to fix the issue. Half of the facility doesn't even have air conditioning and honestly it seems that the management team just pretends these issues don't exist. Do yourself a favor and drive an extra 10 minutes to another club.

I started consistently coming to this location since I enrolled my son into the kids club at the beginning of the year. Mari has been an amazing care taker and someone I trust leaving my son with while I workout. I have been to other locations and will not be returning, multiple children were crying, young and older kids were running carelessly around the room, there was only 1 lady watching 15 children of various ages as she leaned agains the wall just ignoring the crying children. I was never checked in but asked to leave my name and number on a sheet of paper that sat on the desk for anyone to see. I have also been asked to pick up my son 15 min before closing to make sure they have time to "clean" before closing at the Sepulveda location. Mari has always received my son with love and has comforted him with hugs on days he would cry (which is very rare but on occasion will happen). She keeps the club clean for the children and has NEVER asked me to pick up 15 mins earlier to "clean" the facility before closing and thats even on days I arrive 30 mins before closing. I am always check in on the computer and she is always in a safe ratio. She has worked for the company for 11 years and I find it disturbing that kids club was closed with only a few days notice to parents and employees. Although this facility is not my favorite, I continue coming here just for Mari. If the kids club is closed again without the transferring an 11 year employee again ( like Noho West which is down the street), My family and I will be terminating our memberships and taking my business elsewhere. I give Mari 5 stars! 3 to the gym itself. The sauna has been broken half the time since I've started coming here. Sauna is dirty, juice bar is closed and I as I only continue returning for Mari! I hope to see better care and favor for their hardworking employees. especially one of 11yrs.

My wife has been coming to this location since Jan. We are glad to see the Kids club is open again. My wife specifically comes because of Mari. If the kids club closes again we will be terminating our memberships. Five stars for Mari.

The facility and the availability of machines seems to be better than others in the area. HOWEVER…. If you’re going to swim… The pool temperature is actually the best I found in the area… The problem is the people in the pool… If you’re training and are an athlete… This is not the place for you. What I’ve experienced while lifting and looking at the pool: I’ve seen people just walking around and swimming leisurely… I just had an experience where I tried to swim in one of the lap lanes doing my training session… People are walking and when I tried to communicate with people… They were unable to communicate with me as they did not speak the same language… that is fine - but very frustrating for me as they’re telling me that I need to get out of the lane and go to the fast lane… When there is a woman standing in the fast lane… When I tried to communicate on how we were going to swim clockwise the man pointed to his watch… What does that mean? I don’t know… clockwise swim with them walking and me trying to going around them??? No! For me it meant peace out- my session is over and I will swim at the outdoor pool that I frequent. Clearly not an athletes pool at all.

LA Fitness on Cahluenga Blvd. --Dirty...yuck. some is no fault of LA fitness, but the clients leave toilet seat covers on the toilets after use..Women! Please..do your significant others know this?? The asian guy running the smoothie shop very unfriendly. I do not like the layout/floorplan of this particular location.
