This LA fitness is permanently closed as of May 1st... Hopefully another gym picks up the space and upgrades the equipment because it was a convenient location for me. Biggest complaint of this location is the lack of adjustable and flat benches in the free weight section, not much usable space.

The people that work here are super nice, but the facilities need a lot of help. The elevator seems like an accident waiting to happen- it breaks constantly, and the last time I told the front desk it was broken, the girl working said she knew- but it didn’t have caution tape or anything, it was just an elevator with a half-open door…? 2-3 of the 4 stairmasters are constantly down for maintenance, at least one is almost always down. They play news channels on almost every TV upstairs, it’s brutal. The basketball court was closed from when my membership started in October until late March, now one of the three racketball courts is sitting with all the flooring pulled up. There doesn’t seem to be AC, and there are no fans- it was already starting to get pretty stuffy upstairs in March. The music is also really loud at times, there would be days I could hear it clearly over what I was listening to in noise-canceling headphones.

My roommate has a membership to EOS and I have one to LA fitness. Among LA fitness locations this one is the one that comes closest the EOS down the road.

If you’re looking for a steam room this your location. One of the best working ones amongst multiple locations.

However if you’re looking to sled weights or do lunges on the turf you’ll be happier going to EOS.

Also, although the location is five stars the parking is three star when it gets busy.

All in all, I hope this helps you make an informed decision, and if you’re reading this, I hope you have a magnificent day, week, month, year, and decade.

This location is, hands down (I have gone to San Marcos, Oceanside, and Escondido and let me tell you in my opinion it's not even close) the most accepting, kind, and inclusive environment a Commercial Gym can offer. The Operating Manager, Rachel, has gone above and beyond her scope of duties time and time again to make not only me, but every member I see her interact with, feel welcomed and cared for in this facility.

If you want to train to better yourself, this is the spot. Physical Fitness and trying to better myself in a positive way has always been a passion of mine, and one of my most effective means of de-stressing and getting out of my head; exorcising (and exercising) the demons, so to speak. This is a place that will allow you to do that in a judgment-free zone. I feel many gyms try to offer a "judgment free zone" but when tricky situations occur they're actually incredibly judgmental. As a brief example I had a staff member at a different gym(of an LA Fitness, no less!) tell me "I was annoying him" in a raised and aggressive tone while giving me no options of a peaceful resolution (he simply stormed off); at this location I was and have always been spoken to in a calm, respectable manner appropriate of a human being. The staff is wonderful and has time and time again made me feel welcomed and accepted to try and train/push my body to its absolute limits (while being mindful of the fact that I am using a shared space with other paying members)

The equipment is diverse, and comprehensive. There is countless Hammer Strength machines, Dumbbells ranging from 0.5 pounds all the way up to 125 pounds(which many LA Fitness locations do not have, I have noticed many will only go up to 100 pounds), a turf area with a sled, plyometric boxes galore, multiple cable crossover towers, multiple smith machines, multiple squat racks, multiple leg presses, an old-school plate-loaded t-bar row with chest pad(which is RARE to find in a commercial gym these days I am noticing because everyone seems to love the Landmine t-bar rows) and multiple benches. The cardio equipment is also comprehensive with plenty of treadmills, ellipticals, stairmasters, and exercise bikes. They have racquetball courts, a FULL LENGTH basketball court, a sauna, steam room, pool & jacuzzi, and a large yoga room that has multiple boxing bags that can be used. Speaking of the yoga room, there is yoga classes most weeknights there, as well as swimming classes for people interested in that.

The only thing they don't have are circular bumper plates, so deadlifting can be tricky at this location. Besides that, this gym is perfect. A perfect place to try and better yourself with all the equipment you would ever need and a staff that will do their best to help with empathy due to their leader (the OM previously mentioned: Rachel) running her ship with kindness and patience.

As soon as I stepped to check out the place after receiving a promotional email , it was trouble. The night shift lady sort of threatened me by saying “you can’t do this and you must sign up” cause I checked them out 3 years ago and decided not to go with them. So reluctantly I signed up and boy was it a mistake. They managed to charge me a yearly fee even though it was just December. And two months later I had a heart surgery and I asked them repeatedly to terminate my subscription and they promised to do it but kept it running two months later so even though I wasn’t able to go there any more, they kept charging me fees each month for over 5 months (I wasn’t checking my credit card bills). This place sucks and they are in the business of sucking people’s hard earned money - avoid at all cost

There are still good, honest people in this world! I lost my money clip several days ago 😒 Today, when I went to the LA Fitness on Hacienda in Vista, there was a sign saying "found money" with a number to call. When I called and described my money clip, with a picture, LA Fitness employee, Arman, returned the clip with ALL of the money. Arman even refused a reward! We need more Armans in this world. Dope spot with great hours, very convenient for us Vista folk. Kyle from the front desk is awesome, gave me a tour and was very receptive when I brought up why I was looking to change gyms from Crunch to LA Fitness and had an earnest discussion about me and what I’m trying to do in a gym. Some of the equipment is a bit dated but fully functional and if you are looking for a body building gym this place is worth a tour. The men’s locker room is nicer than the Crunch and PF down the road for sure. All in all I had a great Chest and Tri day which I capped off with a nice sauna session.

I used to really love this gym. It was purchased by another gym that started to turn it into a modern/TRX type gym. Halfway way through the processes of updating the layout and equipment, they stopped and returned it to LA fitness. About 1/3 of the floor space is now a personal trainer/TRX area. The rest of the gym was squished together with a lot of equipment removed. The staff has been great as long as I've been here. Hopefully they follow through with making it a 24 hr gym. Lockers/showers seem less clean these days.

My husband & I are seriously disappointed with the way this gym has gone DOWNHILL 😥 & with the poor customer service. The rudeness & mistreatment of the woman at the front desk (who attempts to look like Amy Winehouse) is absolutely unacceptable behavior. She has been nothing but short & sarcastic with both my husband and I, giving us the 3rd degree when we have tried to check in. Although her male coworkers at the front desk have been courteous, they seem embarrassed by her rude behavior as well.
Some of the cleaning people have also been incredibly rude, trying to clean the elliptical machines that we are exercising on or needing to sweep & mop RIGHT NEXT TO ME - when I am on the floor in the large room stretching. Seriously???😣
Like she could not wait & work on another machine or area, until the elderly member has vacated the spot?
This is beyond rude...and such a power trip for this young cleaning woman who wears tight pants & sports bras to work in!!😯 Isn't there a more appropriate dress code for these employees?
It USED TO BE so nice here...but now the Vista gym has really gone downhill. The pool & Jacuzzi are not as clean as they once were & the sauna smells as well.

I had to cancel my training program due to severe asthma, and this location was very convoluted about the process, even though I knew that all I needed to provide on my end was a valid medical note from my doctor. I provided this document, and then was told to go to staples and pay for it to be printed, even though they had a printer there. I was also instructed to cancel my card instead of canceling my program. The fact that I was needing to cancel my program due to medical issues and there was no concern or sense of urgency was really lame. I ended up getting my training program cancelled within 5 minutes at another location. The fact that they could have done that the whole time makes me feel uneasy about the hacienda location, but the other locations are great and honest.

Staff interaction was extremely strange - one person in particular was super unfriendly (female, mid twenties, brown hair/ shoulder-length). Our friend had signed up through Active and Fit and they couldn’t retrieve her account so I gave her a week guest pass and she was insisting that she couldn’t let her go in unless she paid the $20 day fee even though she had an active membership + a guest pass. Please train your staff better! Furthermore, the whole gym needs an update - old machines/ gross pool and sauna, etc.

Today, I had a negative experience at La Fitness ,Vista,Hacienda Drive. I got a 7 days free pass that my husband gave to me because he became a member. It was sent to my cellphone.
I arrived in the weekend and the gym closes earlier in the weekend and they wanted me to hear a sales speech from sales person. I said to person ,Jesus, that I used to be an instructor for the company for 10 years. Let me go inside right way because my husband as member had the right to give 7 days to anyone accord to La Fitness and I did show him the pass. But Jesus said :"no. I will allowed you only today because you already know the gym ,you don't need 7 days pass.
I replied that I may return to the gym again this time as member but depends how I feel after experience the gym for few days.
He said he would not activate my 7 days pass. But changed mind later when I said I would tell headquarter.
At this point it was too late already, not much time to workout anymore and I was not on the mood anyway after
his rude attitude, and he did make me feel unwelcome.
I did leave the gym because after be treated like that I was very disappointed and humiliated by Jesus. A very unprofessional sales person who also said he is a Manager.
Hard to believe because of his horrible customer service skills.
All the years that used to teach there and all the loyalty and dedication to the gym as instructor to be denied a simple guest pass even when my husband it's a new member? It's wrong and unacceptable!

This is THE BEST gym I could have ever signed up at. Eddie at the front is so enthusiastic and is so knowledgeable to talk to and ask questions! He showed me around and made me feel immediately welcomed. ImThis gym is always clean and in neat order and it is a place I look forward to going to EVERY day. It was a decent gym but customer service overall is really bad. I had originally signed up with my girlfriend and they had told me that if I signed up with her name, I would still be able to go without her since both our pictures were in the account. Unfortunately I found out after that I couldn’t go without her because her name was on the account not mine. The only place my name is under is the billing information since I pay it. They told me that I had to re-sign up with my own account in order to be able to go alone. I said screw that and cancelled over the phone, which I had to pay a fee for… unfortunately they never cancelled my account and instead of charging me the cancellation fee, they charged me the monthly payment. Me, thinking it was the fee never questioned it because i was told it was getting cancelled. I just received another charge and was told that in order to even cancel my subscription I have to go in person to their other facility. This place did a lot to scam me. Customer service is the biggest thing I look for and this place did nothing to resolve my issue instead created more issues and took more of my money. All I have to say is SCAM! Don’t recommend this place at all.

The gym is nice and clean, with a good assortment of equipment and a three lane pool. I am currently taking physical therapy sessions here and the trainer has been patient, friendly and flexible with my physical limitations. The vibe of the gym is positive and the staff seem genuinely interested in your well-being and answering questions you may have. I believe I’ll not only get the physical therapy necessary for my recovery but will develop a sense of family when visiting and continuing my membership here. Oh, and they have a smoothie bar! :)

Cancelling your membership is not easy. You have to print out a form and MAIL it in. Esporta Fitness makes it difficult on purpose. If you don't cancel you will be charged $50 a month until you do and you can't cancel unless you bill is paid off. A very oppressive membership program.

I went out of town to this location for a yoga class. The class was very relaxing and the perfect pace for me. The floor also had a lot of unique exercise equipment like tires and agility type equipment that would make a workout more targeted and unique. I've been a member of this gym before moving out of state and I absolutely love it. I came back to this gym when I came back to visit for the holidays and this gym is still fantastic. I recommend it! Also, Jason Covarrubias rules.

If you like companies that have people enter private lots to shove their advertising flyers inside the roll-up window of your vehicle, then this is the right gym for you!

I found their flyer on the ground next to my vehicle with a good chunk missing. When I looked up, I found the rest of the flyer stuck inside the door panel of my vehicle. Now a piece of their flyer, placed there by a person who trespassed into a private lot, is now stuck inside my car.

I mean the gym is all right has all the things you need but it needs maintenance lot of work on the bathrooms some of the work feels like half assets there's hardly any ladies there I just wish they updated the area isn't even when they are ladies hardly any good to look at when you having a good workout you definitely need some fine women get you that blood pumping

This is by far the dirtiest LA fitness I have been to! I frequently go to the ones in Poway, Mira Mesa, San Marcos and this one here in vista. All the others are clean and well maintained. This locations locker rooms are filthy, the pool hair hair and mucus floating around... just gross overall! I will he actively avoiding this location of theirs

As a long-time past and recently re-enlisted member to the Vista LA Fitness location, I was pleasantly surprised how easy and helpful Charlie and Zack were securing a guest pass for my friend who was visiting from Northern California. I've belonged to many fitness centers around California (Sacramento, Redding, San Luis Obispo, Santa Maria, LA, Oakland, San Jose, Irvine and Oceanside). Additionally, my past job involved a lot of traveling, so I've visited many fitness centers across the U.S.

The Vista location is great with all options available (racket ball, basketball, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna, separate bike rooms for spin classes and a extra large mirrored room for aerobics with a wall of bags for kicking and boxing. By far, this location is my favorite one. Thanks LA Fitness in Vista, CA for a great place to work-out!!
