Today I registered online for a 3-Day Free Pass. I received an official email stating:
Pass issued today
I must activate my pass within 30 days

However, when I visited the West Covina location, the staff refused to honor the official LA Fitness guest pass and told me:
“Our location does not accept guest passes.”
“You must pay $20 for a one-day pass if you want to work out today.”

This clearly contradicts the corporate policy stated on your website and in your official email.

Even worse, their tone and attitude made me feel uncomfortable and disrespected.
I felt singled out as an Asian customer.
I am extremely disappointed and concerned.

This experience was humiliating and completely unacceptable.

The complete remodel and overhaul of this LA Fitness is absolutely amazing!!! I used to go to this gym about six years ago and after Covid, I switched to another local gym, but I heard about their remodel and all the new equipment that they’re bringing in so I decided to check it out again and I’m glad I did!!

I’m not talking about some paint on the wall and a brand new sign, We’re talking about two massive turf areas that have some of the most versatile equipment. I know HYROX is blowing up so if you’re one of those athletes then this is the place!! They have Concept2 SkiErg, concept2 row, and Echo Bikes!! If they added an assault runner I’d be in heaven, oh, and some wall balls!! LA Fit, can you make this happen?;)

Upstairs has one of the most gorgeous strengths I have ever seen!! It’s a giant Rogue rig that has 15 squat racks, rogue plates and barbells So if you’re into Olympic lifting then this area is for you!! It’s absolutely stunning.

All the staff is super friendly! Very inviting when you first enter and accommodating to any questions that you might have. Making the switch back to LA Fitness!

They just remodeled and added new equipment. It’s the nicest LA Fitness I have been to. There are 10 squat racks now, 15 benches by the dumbbells and a ton of their new equipment. No more waiting for squat rack.

Double charged my card and now I’m negative, now I have to wait until Monday for my money. My debit card was added to someone else’s account (apparently that was a system error) which makes no sense because the system won’t add my personal debit card to someone else’s profile. They’re refunding me but this is SO unprofessional! For a company that’s already being sued by the ftc, this could add many more problems for you guys. Terrible business management and even worse business training. They won’t even email me a receipt of the refund or even type what happened here today and email it as proof. Literally the worst business management I’ve ever dealt with. Pretty sure FTC (the Federal Trade Commission) will love to hear about this.

For the capacity of people this gym holds, this facility needs to be cleaned regularly and hourly!! Maintenance is lacking severely! Many patrons have complained but its never taken seriously. When is management going to prioritize cleanliness in the shower and pool areas and other common areas with equipment? Maybe a visit from the Health Department will convince management to take this seriously.

Wanted to play handball. All LA fitness took away the glass court for future Pilates. West Covina only has 3 courts.
The best one they took away from us. The other has a Large crack in the front wall. The other one the lights keep turning off during play. We reported it still no fix. Won't be going back there.

When i first signed on, i was explicitly told that id be paying for the one and only specific location that i was getting a membership at. I asked them 3 separate times if that was the only location i could go to and they said yes.

Some time later, i wasnt able to go to the gym for 3 months because of extremely heavy school and work load, and recently when i tried to go to the gym to cancel my membership, the entire location was closed with even the sign gone. It was an absolute ghost town, so ive basically been paying for absolutely nothing for god knows how long. I got in contact with la fitness staff (im assuming from this location) and although they were nice, i was told that they kept charging me because i was paying for multi gym pass or whatever despite me being under the complete impression that i was paying for that one location BECAUSE THEY TOLD ME ID BE PAYING FOR THAT ONE AND ONLY LOCATION. Im honestly not surprised they closed, half the equipment was busted, people loitered around on the machines, it wasnt very clean, etc.

I cant speak on anything for this specific location, but you will never catch me going to the la fitness chain again. I am extremely frustrated and hurt by their deception and my overall experience.

Was in town for work and needed a place to try out. Was so excited to find out that they had a basketball court. And it was nice. They just refinished it, making it amazing to play on. The staff was amazing and super friendly as well. Christopher and Samantha were so helpful, and polite. I wish the gym I regularly went to has people as great as them. Definitely will be going back next time I'm in the area, and will be getting another day pass, unless I move down, then I'll buy a full membership. Lol. Great job and great facilities.

This gym is outrageous. The spa never works. And the worst part about it is that when you want to use the treadmill, you have to ask for permission. They claim this is due to people stealing the magnets off of the treadmills. Not only that, many machines never work and they don’t even put on a machine not working sign on some of the machines. Some of the machines treadmills don’t have a belt . The sauna is falling apart . It’s always filthy and the bathrooms are filthy. I will never come back to this gym and I will spread the word. .

I have been a member for over 3 years. I highly recommend Samuel as a gym trainer! He is extremely knowledgeable about different techniques and always ensures you're targeting the right muscles for your goals. Omgoshh!! I have to say I had the most excellent service here at LA Fitness in West Covina. I went in to inquire on some personal training services with Samuel, and he went above and beyond to help me select the perfect plan! He even went as far as providing me a nutrition plan, he helped me check my BF percentage. We discussed where I would like to be 3 months from now and he already knew the perfect trainer to pair me up with! He is the besttt training director I have met by far at any other LA Fitness locations. If you are looking to really transform and you are ready to take the necessary steps. You have to go see Samuel!! He is experienced and definitely knows what he is doing! Can’t wait to start my new weight loss program!

I switched to LA Fitness because they had basketball courts and a couple other cool sounding things, but honestly I can’t do it with the weight room. There are literally NOOOO dumbbells in the proper spot. And not just at the end of the day, from open to close. Sounds petty maybe, but when you want to go in and handle a smooth workout, it’s very inconvenient. Also, a decent amount of equipment and attachments are less than stellar. And for this huge facility to only have 2 squat racks is a bummer. If you want to do rumba or swim or just play basketball, these things are cool but back to a cleaner more organized place I go

Overall pretty dirty. Lots of worn out carpet, bathrooms are usually pretty dirty and the place just has a bad smell in general especially in the back corner where the carpet is extra gross. The biggest annoyance for me is all of the free weights being completely out of order. If this was my only experience with La fitness I wouldn’t think it’s worth the price.

Edit 7/20/21: I wanted to give less stars besides this place is very frustrating to me and still disgusting. The bathrooms smell worse now and are always dirty. Not sure how anyone sits in the sauna but the smell is terrible in the mens locker room. Barely any paper towel holders in the bathroom and they water down the soap. There are barely any stations with wipes. You can just tell everything is very dirty. Carpet hasn’t been touched. Weights are still out of order. Just overall not worth the price.

I've been a member of LA Fitness for a while, and overall, it's a great gym. The facility is clean and well-maintained, with all the equipment you need for a good workout. However, I noticed that someone has taken all the emergency stoppers for the upstairs treadmills. This is a serious safety concern that needs immediate attention. I recommend that the management check the security cameras and issue a lifetime ban to those responsible. Despite this issue, it's still a solid gym with good amenities.

Couldn't find the 0 star rating & had to reluctantly select 1 star.

It’s not the worst, but not the best either. I’ve read a few comments about the broken treadmills, and wanted to echo that. It started happening this year where most of the treadmills are missing the emergency fob which doesn’t allow the treadmill to activate (for safety reasons); you would think after months and months that the OM would escalate this or get a fix in place, unfortunately this hasn’t been done, resulting in some of going to the Glendora location just because we can use the appropriate equipment. Everything else seems to be clean and usable, but equipment integrity is a real issue and needs immediate attention across the board, not only for treadmills. Lets be better here guys

For the past month, I’ve given this gym multiple chances since. Poorly trained staff with no regard of human safety and lack of consideration to their customers. Unsanitary restrooms. Watered down soap, moist in the restroom walls as if piss was thrown in the walls from the odor. I’ve brought it to the attention of one of their staffs (thin petite guy, black long hair) that one of the treadmills was malfunctioning that it would stop for a split second while running. I hurt my knee and advised him a sign should be displayed on the machine “out of service” to prevent anyone else from getting hurt. I mentioned which machine it was & nothing was done as I continued on a different treadmill for 30 minutes to walk off the pain on my knee from that incident and seen his actions from a distance of lack of responsibility. No incident report was taken or form provided. I assume no HR/manager protocols are in place. If you take your workouts serious and want a properly maintained gym than this isn’t the place to go. City health officials should be visiting soon.

Equipment is so close to each other you barely can walk around it. Sauna is dirty muddy floors from people walking in with their shoes on Nobody here follows gym etiquette or rules.
The sauna is so small maybe room for 8 but pack in with 12-15 people a time it smells and like I said they don’t follow proper sauna rules or etiquette.

Terrible experience here the two ladies at the desk tried to charge me $20 for a day pass when the website clearly states a 3 day pass was free then they would not stop making collection calls long enough to answer my question I don't think they even bothered to put down the phones and look up at me once during this entire interaction. I had a membership a long time ago and there is a zumba teacher I like that only teaches there I was considering restarting it because this LA fitness is closer to my house, the salesperson Ivan was really nice over the phone but i like to go to the gym regularly and clearly the quality of customer service has gone down since I last was a member. I know if I went to check in daily and had a young girl who didn't smile greet or even look up at me for me to scan in that would annoy me and if you are looking for GOOD customer service this place is not it

As soon as you check in on the left hand side you will see the pool area, follow the walking path to get to both the men and women's locker room. There are cardio machines on the second floor as well as the first on the far right hand side next to the Cafe, that only serves smoothies. 😉 You will see the training area behind the check in desk and to the right the workout and cycling classes. I was very impressed at how my sanitizing stations this club had and the abundance of machines. The co-ed jacuzzi was a bit crowded at first but cleared out within minutes. Each locker room has their own dry sauna. In the women's locker their are 8 showers; 4 on each side and the water pressure great! I do like that fact that they offer paper towels rather then the quick dry, those are known to hoarder a ton of bacteria. I would definitely come back if I was ever in the area again.

The Men's bathroom every weekend is ALWAYS dirty, and there is NO soap and NO paper towels on the dispensers in the sinks area.
So how can we properly wash our hands ??
I asked for the Mgr. a few times on the weekends to bring up my concerns wi thi this issues, and I was told every time that the Mgr. wasn't there. But that they will let the Mgr. know about my complaint.
So when you come in or out of this doors, Be Prepared to Be Ignored by the employees!!

General manager has horrible attitude the restrooms filthy dirty Jacuzzi broken for over a month last 4 months the sauna was broken. Besides that love the rest of the team especially Lisa the operations Manager very helpful she just said she don't have much control over the Manager Nathan. Oh and the girls in the front desk and in the day care are awesome. Sorry for the sorry Manager. Pictures coming soon.

Im from stockton, ca my home gym is Valley Fitness out there, i came to visit this gym during my trip out here and i was so disappointed.. gym equipment is rusty, and outdated then what im used to. People dont rerack their weights... and i didnt really see any wipes to wipe down machines after use? Atleast theres juice bar and vending machine i guess..

Place is dirty ALL the time, rerecking is a suggestion, sauna broken for a year, employees chatting in the desk on the right hand side when you walk in(unless a supervisor is working on that day). I started taking the extra miles to go to a different one.

Recently started going here after trying it out back in February, equipment has been upgraded and they added deadlift platforms! Management is great. Great for all fitness levels and supporte all fitness goals but after transitioning from a guest pass user(from my uncle) to an actual member myself, I'll admit it is pretty pricey.

They have 3 squat racks at this center. I’ve been a member for over 1 year and never seen a rack open. But they have at least 40 open tread mills

1. W. Covina LA FITNESS is dirty on Sunday. 2. Customers refuse to re-rack equipment after using. 3. NO yoga class (info says LAF is unable to hire & pay Yoga instructor?).4. Voice of the unheard: Li, Wu, Ku (Asian ethnicity) coach informed: GM, director reduced purposely coach performances for self gain of promotion, higher position; e.g. class attendances 30 changed to 15 by twisting, changing facts reported by yoga coach. The manipulated data from facts causes HQ in Irvine: 1) making misleading decision of hiring, qualified yoga coach. 2) bad judgments on coach performances and/or 3) It looks like yoga class attendance is below Par. Note: Just remember your salary, wages come from LAF members. Happy Labor Day, 9.5.2022.

They started implementing a "no bags on the gym floor" policy. What is that about? The sauna is not reliable, rn it's broken down and under repair forever. Needs more cleaning crew the locker rooms are dirty. They did add turf and deadlifting platforms which is a plus. Staff is nice and professional

The restrooms are nice and clean. The refillable water bottle fountain always gives out cold water witch I haven't had at another branch. Overall good atmosphere
