Here is a sognature club. They charge us for the maintenance but always bathrooms are disaster mess ,no toilet paper ,washer area full of hair and mess. 2 times i have noticed them , they just say oh really ? Sorry !

I’m upset and disappointed with my recent experience at the LA Fitness Signature location. I walked in and asked for my complimentary towel, only to be told that there will now be an additional charge for it. I was stunned. One of the main reasons I chose a Signature club was because of the added amenities, and the towel service has always been part of that. This change is extremely disappointing and definitely not the level of service I expected.

Just walk in to get some ideas about pricing and how the place look at 8 PM there was this assistant who told me that there is nobody here to show you around and I cannot even let you in and we just wanted to take a quick look to see if we do like the place. First, I would definitely have someone available for potential new clients. Secondly, I would never talk to a potential clients like that at this point it doesn’t matter if it’s clean or good gym I would never go there. I would never recommend such a place to anyone.

Please fix your A/C. It’s summer in Woodland Hills — why is it always so hot in here?

Gym is crowded at all hours of the day, every day. Lots of outdated and greasy equipment with several machines in need of repair. One exception is the exercise bike room, which is really nice and has a bunch of expensive Keiser bikes. Ironically, nobody seems to use this room. I wouldn’t pay a cent more than I do for this place. Its only strong points are that it’s cheap and close to where I live. Seriously, fix your A/C.

EDIT: Officially bumping this down to 1 star. My locker was broken into a few weeks ago. The thief took a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses and apparently broke into several other lockers in the short time I was there. Staff were apologetic and said they would file an "incident report" but nothing has come of it. Don't put your stuff in the lockers here. In fact, go find another gym altogether. This place is a mess.

Racial Profiling & Unprofessional Conduct

Without any proof, LA Fitness management accused me of stealing, racially profiled me, and banned me on the spot—threatening to call the police if I ever returned. As a former football and track athlete with 30+ years in the weight room, I have never been treated with such disrespect.
I explained that, as a public figure, I face daily stalking and threats, which is why I protect my identity. Instead of professionalism, I was yelled at and humiliated in front of customers. This was unacceptable, and I will be reporting it to corporate.

I have been working out in guns since the 80's. I have been in gyms overseas. I have been in gyms in rural America. This is by far the WORST gym that I have ever been a member of.

1) I spend more time waiting for machines or weights than working out.

1a) the members camp out on machines. Members will sit down, throw down a towel on the seat and then seemingly watch reality shows on their phone rather than let anyone else work in a set.

2) towel service isn't. So far with my paid towel service I have been able to get a small towel once. Not being able to get one? More than ten times. Pay extra for a service that isn't available? Thank you no.

3) the juice/protein bar (which is unaffiliated but still plays into the overall service) is staffed by employees who will wait you out to see if you will give up and leave before taking your order.

Staff for the gym itself are nice but can't make up for the terrible overcrowding that makes the gym unusable for anyone who has more to do with their day than just get their workout in.

I take a weekly class and have since July 2024 in their swimming pool. We are in winter and that pool is freezing. I have told numerous staff members numerous times other people in my class have told people and nothing‘s been done about it. They don’t look happy to work there and their pool feels like you can skate on it. Turn on the heater and Heat your swimming pool that is ridiculous to have swimming classes in that cold freezing pool. You have great instructors treat your guest like you care. Turn on the heater and warm your pool and stop laying clean towels on the counter people are on. Fix the shower heads in the the Women’s area. That’s ridiculous just as ridiculous as the freezing pool! You should hire or give your people a raise so they’ll be happy when they’re at the front counter. Please keep your towels fully stocked also for your members. Why do I always have to say please do not put my towel on the counter that everyone touches whether they’re sweaty or not? It is so unsanitary to put clean towels on the counter that is nasty. You guys are definitely not a signature club. Please make the North Hollywood location on Laurel Canyon a signature club. This is not a signature club.

I come for the pool. With 3 lanes and not 4, it is easy for it to fill up. But the biggest issue is all the people who don't swim laps in the lap pool. My first time there, three older women got into the lane with me. To their credit, they stayed on their side of the lane, but I don't know what they were doing. Walking back and forth? Then two more people (men) came into the lane and at that point I was able to share a lane with someone who was swimming laps. The next time I came, two women got into my lap section to share the lane. Then one of the women pulled out a boogie board. They also weren't really swimming laps. And always, every lane is being used. I'm not going back. I'll drive further away to swim laps with people who want to swim laps if they're in the pool.

I only go to LA fitness for the Zumba class . Tonight the management was apathetic by shutting the door even though were already hypoventilating.
Please fix your AC or at least add 2 more fans to prevent suffocation of your clients. Its summer and there were 38 people during the 5:45 pm Zumba class that were suffocated.
3 weeks with deffective AC its time to fix it

The front desk guy named Jaz(he wouldn't share his last name) was very incompetent. I paid a $20 day fee after he told me there is no guest pass or first timer pass in the gym. I asked for the receipt. After 15 min trying to figure it out how to give me one, He said I would receive it by email. He never asked about an email when he checked me in.
Then he said that they don't give receipts(why he was wasting my time to give me one) . Said I need to contact the corporate office to obtain one. This is unacceptable. Whenever you buy something, you should be able to receive some type of document for proof of payment.
It was very unprofessional, and I would say shady behavior of the front desk guy.

The gym is nice and trainers are great. The men dressing room and showers need some upgrading.
Plenty of parking available. Update: the conditions in the dressing room and showers are getting worth. Also the crowed in this place is getting more and more agressive and unrespectful of people and installation every day. Management and team are not responding to people complaints. Thinking of canceling my subscription. Update: situation had improved a little bit, but avoid this place when it is crowded. People keep equipment busy all the time even when they are not using them to check their phone. Not very nice. Update: not much improvement. On top of it the showers are getting worse and there is no paper towels most of the time.
Update: Not much improvement. Since "David" the person that was cleaning and taking care of the facility left, the situation had gotten worse, mostly in the lockers/showers. No paper towels, no seat protectors most of the time. Also people are not helping, leaving used towels everywhere on the floor and/or in the showers. So sad to see.

Outdated equipment, feels like an old retirement gym. They need to learn from speakeasy, not because it’s trendy because they have the machines gym people use. Speakeasy has so many open machines it’s amazing the way they structure their gyms. Unlike this outdated gym that looks like the 24hr gym in panorama city with members who probably live in nice homes to have to visit the retirement center. I don’t recommend this location to anyone unless you’re old and want to wait hours for basic machines not that theirs anything wrong with either

I just got my Silver Sneakers membership. I went there today to register. Ela was there to help me out. She was professional and fast. The registration process was a breeze. I was done in 10 minutes. The personnel at the front /check in desk was wonderful also. Parking was no problem . I look forward to working out there.

I joined this location because it is a signature location and it should have more amenities than other locations. I am disappointed with the equipment and the class schedule.
Several of the machines are not in service or in need of repairs. The classes that I would like to attend are scheduled during my work day. They have no early morning or evening options for those of us who work a 8 to 5 schedule. I expected more and was very disappointed!

He had questions about my exercise habits and did a range of motion assessments in the training area. That's it

10 - 15 min into the session, Benjamin asks if I'll be interested in the $165 / mo training program 3x / week

I said yes, and immediately he starts fast walking back to his desk... not a word

It turns out that the terms were 2 trainings with another coach - Benjamin couldn't do it himself -and the 3rd session with Benjamin, $165/mo if you agree to 6 -12 months contract or $240/mo with no contract, -month to month -

Decided not to enroll since it was 30% more expensive than what was pitched a few minutes before. Also, wondered how that 3rd session would go... based on recent experience... 15 min 😱

Nope. That's what the coaching program was for. Not even help to learn how to use machines, talk about SAFETY ...

The gym has excellent equipment, but when it comes to customer support, it falls short. A brief account: my phone was stolen inside the gym, and they didn’t offer any support, only expressing regret over the incident. Be careful with your belongings. I am expressing my frustration.

I had a 3-day free pass for LA Fitness, but they denied me access. Even though I had the QR code clearly stating the free trial, they refused to honor it and just tried to sell me a membership instead. Completely unfair! This is false advertising and a misleading offer. If they don’t intend to honor their own promotions, they shouldn’t be offering them in the first place. Very disappointing experience!

Gentrification is the only thing I can think of to describe what happened. My dad had a lifelong membership from Ballys (actually an original lifelong membership to Jack LaLanne), which got transferred to LA fitnees when they were bought out. The membership transferred to me when my dad passed. I was denied access to this gym with an LA fitness gym membership and this is what they said was the reason : the gym was turned into a “signature gym “ which is the same gym except they call it a signature gym and added towels.

So by adding towels, they were able to deny my lifetime membership.

My membership has been been paid for years even when I didn’t have access to an LA Fitness to keep it, and now I’m not able to use the LA fitness next to me in LA.. Seems like a decent gym but really not fair, I think an easy fix would be to allow use of the gym without towels.

It's so crowded here all the time. And there has been a broken piece of equipment for about a month or more. The basketball court is claustrophobic. The men's bathroom is disgusting. Paper towels are not there about 80% of the time. The bathroom sinks are on low flow and some don't even work at all.

The best LA fitness when it was managed by Josh. Josh is the best supervisor I’ve gotten to meet from any business in general. He is extremely professional and polite to every single member. I haven’t seen him around anymore recently and it is definitely showing. Although the other staff members are not bad either.

The pool area is freezing. It’s an indoor pool but the temperature outside is warmer than the pool area.During Aqua aerobics part of your upper body is out of the water the manager promised to fix it but hasn’t. She said she knows something is wrong because in the afternoon it’s warm in that room but at 10:00 AM it’s cold.

We came in today with my husband to cancel his gym membership, the lady behind the counter was not nice at all, she said our manager not here you need to come Monday to Friday, or you can send an email, however we did sent emails before and no one replied back!! they are making it so difficult to cancel the membership, something that should have been easy! I told the lady that we emailed before but nothing happend, she replied again with a very aggresive tone that I told you to email! Very bad customer service!!Instead of helping us she was rude and made us upset! Not a good experience! Not everyone is available Monday to Friday! They should be able to help you on weekend as well or have a better customer service!

First time visiting this gym. Staff was really nice and helpful, people were constantly cleaning everywhere, wipes that were left on machines would get cleaned up right away. To this point it was definitely on my top 3 until I took a shower. They offer towels for you, then I walked in the shower area, glass doors on the showers and on top of that bodywash, shampoo, AND conditioner? I felt spoiled! My regular gym doesn't even have curtains on the showers 😒. Favorite La Fitness so far! Keep up the good work 👏🏾

Horrible management. Never any paper towels, they don’t even put a sign up so people end up washing their face with no paper towels at their disposal. Never any toilet paper and seat covers as well. Managers and employees couldn’t care less. I keep telling them to at least put a sign up that there are no towels and they never do. It would just be a courtesy to let people know before hand that something is out. This gym goes without paper towels for weeks on end which I’m not sure how that’s even sanitary since if we want a regular towel we have to pay a towel fee. Paying a gym membership for crap service.

Also could the workers at the front desk maybe say hello every once in a while? So unwelcoming.

Excellent gym!
After reviewing several gyms in the area I found this gym to be the best.
I was welcomed by Bobby the representative.
After realizing that this gym meets my needs, I found that it includes a wide variety of facilities, a squash area, a pool, a jacuzzi, a sauna, a large changing area, clean showers, towels and everything needed to have a complete experience for the user. The staff is very kind and helpful and overall you can say that this place is excellent. Enjoy!

High likelihood of Covid or MRSA. I recently visited this location that prides itself on being a "Signature" club, but I was disappointed with the lack of hand sanitizer or proper cleaning supplies for the gym equipment. It seems like they do not take safety and sanitation seriously. This lack of proper cleaning and sanitization measures makes it difficult for patrons to clean the equipment before or after use. I wouldn't recommend this gym as it seems like there's a high risk of getting MRSA or Covid. As a result, everything in the gym felt grimy and sticky to the touch. Additionally, there were no towel machines, and they frequently ran out of hand sanitizer.They only have these small “hand sanitizing wipes” that are completely inadequate for cleaning machines. They don't provide effective solutions for cleaning the equipment.

Updated....they lost the good zumba instructor at night...no more cardio kickboxing. Stuff is always broken i.e sauna or wash so they dont have towels. The price we r paying here it should be way better with higher quality instructors. And no LAST minute instructor changes...taking a teacher from a scheduled class to sub a class that another teacher bailed on. How is that fair to those that showed up and they made them teach a class that isn't even theirs....anyway this gym has seriously gone down hill esp for the price

Some guy named Josh was adamant on standing his ground about lying saying guest passes are not given out due to high volume demand in their members, which contradicts the fact that I still got a guest pass scancode anyway via online registration but he still refused to let me use it. Then this individual tells me i need to cough up $20 to check out the gym. Really unprofessional behavior and this behavior really reflects and represents what this gym stands for apparently. The guy must have been angry that i was bypassing him or something. Very disrespectful staff member makes the gym morale and reputation plus representation look small in comparison to other gyms.

June update-
No change in staff actively enforcing rules of phone use. Doesn't matter if in locker room, cardio equipment or on gym floor. One guy today was shouting on his phone for over half an hour on his call. I thought he finished or respectively took his call outside, but he took his call and workout to another area. This is also with my noise cancelling headphones playing fairly loud music.
Staff has since put up signage asking members to put away their weights. Probably because it only benefits their need to pick up, which I rarely have seen in my 1+ yrs of training here regularly.

The facilities are clean and nice. They have a big problem with inconsiderate people on their phones. Wouldn't care much if conversations weren't so loud, causing people all around to hear everything. I have noise cancelling headphones and still hear it.
Staff do eventually respond if you complain but, only if you complain. I don't ever see them looking to remedy this issue. I have seen conversations in every part of the place, from bathroom selfies, to conversation in the jacuzzi, sauna, cardio, weight area, stretching area.
When even writing to corporate, a generic and PC reply of "thank you for your response." Is given. If you are okay with this, you will not have a problem. But if you take their week trail and see it, just know that it won't get better.
This past week, a staff member was cleaning weights while on her phone for at least 15 minutes, so the priority isn't there.

That is pretty much my only complaint. Staff says hi when you enter. The cleaning crew is always working with a smile and positive greetings.

I’m really not the type to leave bad reviews. But the men’s bathroom situation is disgusting, and the worst gym bathroom I’ve ever seen. Only 2 Stalls for 75+ men in the entire building, and they are always taken by someone just sitting there for 15 minutes. The paper towels are NEVER full, the toilet paper is ALWAYS OUT. And there’s never sanitization wipes at the specified stations. There is no excuse to allow the bathrooms and hygiene to get this bad. Fix your gym.

Amazing facility! I’ve been to a couple different gyms in the valley over the past few years, but the ambience of this location along with the positive energy amongst the staff focused on my fitness goals. From the moment I came in to the gym I was met with a, smiling face, and warm welcome. Kayla made the transition extremely comfortable and made me feel right at home. In early 2021, we were driving by the LA Fitness in Van Nuys and decided to sign up for a 3-year membership, even though we live in Chatsworth. We verified at the time that the Chatsworth location was still open, we were told yes and signed up, and it wasn’t cheap. Shortly after, we learned the Chatsworth location had actually closed and we were given wrong information, so I got in touch with someone who worked at the Woodland Hills location to cancel our memberships. As a compromise, she gave me access to the Woodland Hills location because it is relatively close to us. As it turned out, I rarely ever went to the Woodland Hills location anyway, primarily going to the Sherman Oaks and Devonshire locations. Because I appreciated the way this manager handled the situation (with class and integrity), we always planned on renewing this April and upgrading to include signature locations, as well as adding two additional memberships. Last week, just as we were about to sit down to dinner in the evening, we got a call from Sara, who claimed to be some kind of membership manager at the Woodland Hills location (she can’t even have the foresight to call during business hours). She told me if I ever wanted to go back, I would need to pay $10 every time I visit. I was baffled as to why this was happening now, as the front desk never had an issue, but more importantly, when a verbal agreement is made with a customer, it needs to be honored, whether you like it or not. She said, “that person had no right to do that and is no longer here anymore.” She also did not seem to be willing to understand the circumstances as to WHY this had occurred. The whole situation just felt dirty, gross and embarrassing. This is not a case of wanting special treatment or the money, it is the principle. What a petty way to do business and treat a customer, and when our contract is up, we will be joining Equinox. I am not sure of the psychology of some of the “managers” in this area who are on some kind of a strange power trip, but as a manager myself in the customer service industry, I would be mortified if a customer of mine was treated this way. I even resent that I have to take the time to write this, but do yourself a favor and stay far away from the LA Fitness locations in the valley. They simply don’t care and once they get you in the door, treat their customers horribly.

And what makes the Woodland Hills location “signature” anyway? They (sometimes) have towels, that is it. But the pool/hot tub is always crowded and dirty, the Wi-Fi is horrendous, the weights are always disorganized, it is always overcrowded and the locker rooms are a mess. Sara should spend her time fixing the numerous issues with this location and stop wasting time harassing customers who want to give her their money and business. I would love to hear from a DM with their thoughts on this matter.

This used to be one of my favorite locations but unfortunately it has had some trouble recently. About a week ago there was no hot water available to shower and no signage to warn you before you got in.
The staff is great but they recently started missing some familiar friendly faces. My favorite classes were the Zumba classes by Jessica and she’s nowhere to be found on the schedule. I hope she is back soon as she was really the only thing keeping my membership here!

I've spoken to multiple front desk & membership associates (in multiple locations) in the past and no one was able to help me resolve my membership issue.

Destiny, not only answered my questions but also took action on things that she was authorized to and on matters she couldnt she provided solutions.
She did all this while handling other members checking in 👏🏼

The salesman are incredibly pushy, and I was deliberately mislead when signing my contract. The salesman’s name was Gio- he gave me an inaccurate summary of my charges so that I ended up being charged extra for services I never received. Yet another LA fitness with either no heavy bag or has removed their heavy bag. Called to ask did they have heavy bags after going to Tarzana location and finding out they dont have any. The associate says they do. I show up and see the heavy bags all laying against the wall. Terrible customer service, would not recommend this gym at all. I had a 3 day guest pass and the front desk associate (Alex Orozco) wouldn’t let me in to workout. The pass was new and haven’t been used yet, it was my first day on the pass and he stated that it was not valid because I was a previous member, which was years ago. My gf sent me this guest pass this morning and it does not state in the fine print that previous members can not have or use a guest pass. He stated that the guest pass wasn’t valid and the only way for me to workout today was if I were to get a $20 day pass or sign up for a membership for $40. I never had a problem using guest passes at any other LA Fitness besides this one.

LA Fitness is a great gym ... except for its rude members. I realize management cannot fix this. Members do not replace weights, even after carting all the way to the other side of the gym. Don't even think of "working in" with that person who is monopolizing multiple sets of dumbells and a barbell to boot. Sigh. I miss Joe Gold, who managed his gym floor like a police dog. Kids club has been closed for a few months since the club flooded due to rain. The staff said the kids club would be open before or by the summer. The club is still not open after months when all they needed to do was replace the carpet really. LA fitness has terrible customer service. They really don't care. The option is to cancel the membership. Local staff will have you call corporate and corporate will do nothing. I had other issues with the club not honoring my corporate discount and after Multiple calls to corporate they never got back to me after they said they would.

Had to try them off I. can get furthered en detail but they do have a decent spot. The neighborhood experienced some things I'm not so good about but luxury is the gab.
