Sweet girl running the class, but the loud music and the overall level left a lot to be desired. This type of class has very little to do with what Joseph Pilates originally taught.

I’ve never seen a studio class with such low attendance and no wonder because they don’t know how to do business. I arrive on time with the other student together and the instructor said I cannot take it because I’m late as a first-time student. I understood that but you didn’t specify how early it has to be and how to process class payment or reschedule. She just said I cannot take it and then left. Leaving me there for another 30min cancelling my class myself. While I stood there for 5min in, she wanted to lock the door and asked why I was still there…she even had the nerve to ask why. It’s very disrespectful, especially it’s not like she has a full class. It’s just me and the other student together. There’s plenty of megaformer studio out there, and we sign up to get exercise instead of getting angry and wasting our time, so I wouldn’t recommend this studio at all. For recommendation, if you have a policy that is strict to the second, then don’t be so cheap and SPEND MONEY TO HIRE A FRONT DESK because you will just have more and more upset customers.

The studio was spotless and had a really comfortable vibe—never felt overcrowded. I took Stephanie R’s class and would absolutely recommend her! She’s thorough, motivating, and has such a great energy without being over the top. I loved the music and the flow of the routine—challenging in the best way. Definitely feeling the burn today, and already looking forward to my next class!

This is the best Lagree studio in all of Los Angeles. Lisa has spent a lot of Time developing great trainers. I've been to other Lagree Studios or so-called Lagree Studios in Los Angeles and 213 arts District, South Park and historic core are the best in the city.

I knew they had a strict 5 min late policy, I was 3 minutes lates and they didn’t allow me in the class. They were saying it was because it was my first time there, which it was not. Class was half empty.
As you are admitting, I was not a first time client but there was a mistake in your system showing me as such, after i clarified they should have let me join the class.

The trainers at lagree 213 really know how to whip you into shape. Lisa, the owner has done a fantastic job with her team. I’ve seen more results with this workout than any other that I have tried. I will keep coming back here. They even have a really cute boutique at the entrance where you can buy workout clothes and cute grip socks! Great job guys.

I’ve heard a lot about this studio and wanted to give it a try, but I won’t be coming back. I really enjoyed the studio/ classes but Lisa sadly ruined the experience for me. She was very rude and unprofessional and I did not appreciate how she spoke to both myself and others. For the amount of money we pay for classes, the least you can do is make your customers feel welcomed.

Booking with this studio is one of the worse experiences. Booked a class with my friends starting at 3. At the door at 3 pm and the instructor refused to let us in stating we were not on time. Only had 2 people in the class. Told us to come back for the 4 pm class. We came back for her to tell us there is no room to accommodate us all. Had to book with another studio and pay extra $15 each. Honestly feel my friends and I were discriminated against and the instructor was very dismissive. Always referencing to the camera to check what time we arrived but when we asked her to check the time, she didn't. Won't recommend especially if you're POC.

The teachers have helped me and honestly, I feel like Lagree213 is helping me save my health. I've been doing it for three days and I can already run up and down the stairs without losing my breath. I'm super grateful for Lagree213 213 and look forward to go in five days a week. I started last week and I'm excited.

Extremely disappointed with professionalism at this place. Was late 3 minutes due to traffic and they turned me down while all my friends were in the class. This is ridiculous that the place doesn’t have a 5 minutes due flexibility due to situations like traffic. This is ridiculous and disrespectful to costumers. I will never come back here just because of the this. Both the receptionist and lady teaching the class were super rude about it!

It’s disappointing to see the studio distort the situation instead of taking accountability for their poor customer service. First, my review is about how rigid and unaccommodating the studio is—not about ClassPass policies. I fully understand ClassPass policies, but that does not excuse the dismissive and rude behavior of the front desk staff when I attempted to explain my situation in person.
Rather than showing any empathy or professionalism, the receptionist was unnecessarily confrontational and unhelpful. I never asked for them to “cheat the system”—I simply asked for a reasonable resolution given my circumstances. Instead, I was met with hostility and an unreasonable demand to physically move equipment just to avoid being marked as a no-show.
As for the accusations of yelling and “causing a scene,” this is a gross exaggeration and an attempt to deflect from the real issue: the studio’s inflexible policies and poor customer service. If a long-time customer expressing frustration over rigid policies is considered “mistreatment of staff,” then perhaps the issue lies with how the studio handles customer concerns, not with the customer.
I stand by my review. This studio prioritizes policy enforcement over customer experience, and their response here further proves that point.
## original review##
Incredibly disappointing studio, they don’t care about customer. All they care about is their strict policy even you have taken more than 60+ classes with them. You can’t be late, can’t have any last minute physical issues even you come in person to explain, the receptionist has attitude and extremely rude saying I have to be physical at the studio.
So I said I can stay but not able to workout. Then she said I have to be on the platform and move the equipment to be considered as take this class. otherwise they will still consider you no show and charge you with extra fee. What a ridiculous studio and rude receptionist!

I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this studio. I arrived at 5:00:44 for my class but was turned away because I was 44 seconds late – they even felt the need to clarify down to the seconds. The front desk staff was rude and unwelcoming. They didn’t show any understanding or flexibility, especially for a first-time customer, and seemed uninterested in resolving the issue.
On top of that, I was charged a $15 fee, which I was not warned about during my visit. I’ve gone through their policies, and there is no mention of this fee after being turned away by them. Despite multiple attempts to contact management, my concerns have gone unanswered for weeks now! Terrible experience

Was charged a late cancel fee when I showed up at the time (5:00:44). I did not cancel and was absolutely not told about this fee! Their website policies even says “if you no show: you lose your class…” absolutely nothing about an extra fee. Highly disappointing.

The instructor Elise was really great I would have gave the whole experience a 10 the reason I gave it a 7 was the front desk staff. There was a light skinned woman with curly hair she was really rude and snappy and it just seemed like she had a bad attitude. I feel like as a customer who's going in for a workout especially early in the day it would be nice to be greeted by someone who is more warm and positive. My friends and I went in as a group and her responses to us was very snappy and rude especially the way she treated my friend when she couldn't find her reservation and told the lady it might have been because she had booked it 20 minutes before coming in and the lady was like " you should have said that when you first walked in" with an attitude I feel like that's not good representation for front desk. I work as a front desk representative so I know how it goes overall it was a great class it was just the worker who really negatively impacted the experience which is unfortunate because my friends and I will not return to that location.

Extremely rude receptionist who did not let me into a class for “not being on time” despite arriving 2 min before class due to heavy roadwork/ construction outside. I was planning to show up 10 min before and despite an explanation, the receptionist shut and locked the door, proceeding to put her airpods in like this was that much of an inconvenience. The class wasn’t even half full… Was then charged by ClassPass a no-show fee. I’ve shared this with so many friend interested in trying Lagree who have decided not to, so I hope this review can serve as a warning. Not just situationally re my circumstance, but the way an hourly employee can feel that much of a burden / annoying to communicate with another human in a cordial and rational manner. How disappointing.

UPDATE:
I really held off updating this review because I wanted to love this place so much..
I signed up for a 6month contract knowing I’d be gone a month for my wedding. I asked multiple instructors and receptionists asking if it would be okay to freeze and continue when I got back. They all told me that would be fine and I’d just need to send an email. I could never just talk to anyone in person to do this. Before I left I mentioned again that I needed to freeze and again they told me to write an email and it should be taken care of.
So I did..
I got a response pretty fast saying they’d need to charge a fee, in which I said they could charge the card on file. After that I never got a response. I followed up multiple times to which 1.) they never charged me the fee 2.) didn’t freeze my account 3.) was billed for the month I needed to freeze.
I was so disappointed in the customer service that I never returned. It seems like multiple people have had this issue. So sad it didn’t work out because results were actually good. Will have to find another Lagree studio that actually cares about their customers.

Did not feel inclusive or welcoming— from the staff to the other class members. The energy and vibe was very stuffy and pretentious. I feel the instructor singled me out a bit. I was the only Black woman in class, and I’ve been to several fitness and pilates classes DTLA and have never been the only one. Ever. I think it speaks volumes about Lagree. I prefer Pilates to Lagree. But to each their own.

I can’t fathom what kind of person would come up with such an inhumane, absurd, uncivilized, and anti-human rule of ‘no late arrivals allowed.’ It all became clear to me when the receptionist said, ‘You can pay $15 to switch to the next class.’ I realized it was pure greed at work here. The establishment clearly abides by the noble principle of never missing an opportunity to make an extra $15, creating rules so absurd even government agencies wouldn’t implement them. With a sense of resignation, I left this business, blinded by its pursuit of immediate profit, and left a one-star rating on my way out.

Just 3 minutes later. I was rejected to join the class and no-refundable fee. The late reason was because the police arrested someone and influenced the road. Actually there were just 2 persons in the class. So wired and disgusting. Please say no to the stupid policy.

Kayla is the best! I’m so sad to be moving and leaving her class and this studio (and to a place without Lagree!). I’ve been coming here for years and have gotten in the best, strongest shape of my life, then prepared for pregnancy, and am now getting back to myself postpartum with Kayla and the team. I truly think sticking with these workouts throughout pregnancy helped physically with the birth of my son and also gave me the confidence to trust my body doing hard things. I love the low impact, intense workouts that actually give results. Kayla makes them focused and fun and is always friendly and willing to help with adjustments and alternatives. I couldn’t recommend it more! Thanks for everything!

I really didn't want to leave a negative review because I genuinely enjoyed the sessions but I could not get the assistance I need for 3 months now regarding subscription cancellation. I tried reaching someone through email, text, phone call, but nothing worked and the instructor at the studio repeated that I needed to consult with general customer service about any payment issues. I warned them multiple times but now I am left with no choice but to upload this online; I will consider deleting the review only after I receive the refund for over $300 subscription fees I wasted because no one got back to me.

Really bad business practices. They charge you for a late cancelation fee and a no-show fee for the same session (This isn't included in their policy). The Pilates store has a strict late policy. I was literally one minute late, and the front desk rudely and unceremoniously barred me from entering. I've seen similar comments from other customers. I don't understand. What can I warm up in a minute? Say I'm a new client, afraid I'll get hurt. But I often go to shops in the arts section, where people have a relaxed policy, and I see customers who are still allowed to be two or three minutes late. I don't understand the nobility of this store. Never come back.

The studio's lack of flexibility and unprofessional response to my 4-minute late arrival, due to unforeseen car issues during a 45-minute drive, reflects a poor cultural environment. Despite explaining the emergency, they refused to make an exception, and the staff's low emotional intelligence in their text messages further disappointed me. While I appreciate Lagree workouts, such business behavior won't earn my support.
UPDATE: After carefully reviewing additional feedback and your responses, it appears there's an issue with the tone and manner in which you address customers dissatisfied with your service. As someone who claims empathy, a more considerate approach is expected. Unforeseen circumstances occur, and it's crucial to adapt gracefully. Feel free to disregard my feedback if this is your business strategy.

Their “no 1 second late” policy is insane. I used classpass and drove 30 minutes in traffic to get there. Paid for parking next door, used classpass credit, and came to the door 1 minute late. They didn’t let me in when it was 3:31 and the class started at 3:30. That is objectively not fair. If they’d like to be so firm, they should not allow new students to book without calling them first, or figuring out some other solution. Even if it says “no late arrivals” in the class description, 1 minute late is excusable for literally everything else in life, and this place cannot be the one exception. 100% happy to take down this review if their process changes so they stop doing this to people

My FAV workout spot!! Been going for a year and I’m still not bored of it! I used to hate workout classes but with Lagree, you don’t feel like you’re in a group setting—you feel like you are just working out with other people in the same space because Lagree is only as hard as you push yourself. I began my Lagree journey over a year ago. As someone who was always an athlete (played multiple sports, ran a few marathons, did some mountaineering, HIIT workouts, yoga, pilates, etc.), I can honestly say that Lagree has been the most transformative, in every aspect. Despite having been a member for months, every class is still a challenge. The instructors are all great (Alec, Lisa, Eva, Liv, Jessica to name a few) but my ABSOLUTE favorite, and the prime reason I am still a member and consistently booking classes, is STEPHANIE. She has such dynamic energy, constantly pushes you to your limit (until you shake - embrace the shake!), great workout playlists, always very personable, funny, and open/receptive to feedback. I encourage you all to book her class or any other instructors to get a true Lagree experience. You won't regret it!

Shut door in my face for being literally 1 minute late. Its not my first time here and they claim they allow a 5 minute grace period. Rude staff on top of that. I will be charged a no show fee and I was not able to validate parking because of this. When you make additional money by barring people from your class there is a conflict of interest.
Short sighted service policy alienates a repeat customer.

Really great challenging class!
The next part- it’s never really easy to receive feedback so I will try to be as detailed and objective as possible: I agree with others, the instructor I had was not really personable especially towards someone like me who was not as fit as everyone else in the class. I was right on time to a class as a first time attendee. The instructor, Natalie, explained to me to be earlier next time. It was of course my original plan but LA traffic is really the worst and the lot instructions for parking were extremely confusing! I told the instructor I understood and thanked her for the information but she still kept with a very condescending tone at which point I was tired of being copacetic. I love being lectured when it comes to workouts but not when it comes to something like asking me to be at class earlier, which definitely could have been communicated in a more professional way (less passive aggressive). I’d like to reiterate, I am not saying she was wrong in asking me to be earlier, I am just a grown person and I really wouldn’t like to be talked to like a 5 year old especially when I was trying my best to be respectful and receptive to her feedback . I would like to give another instructor a try so I will but I really recommend this person work on their people skills!

Lagree is an excellent workout for muscles you didn’t even know you had. I love coming to Lagree213 specifically because they have knowledgeable instructors who encourage you to push your limits and challenge you with a different routine every time. I feel accomplished after every workout here!

I tried Pilates for the first time on Saturday at SolidCore in Culver City and loved it so I wanted to try it on my own in my area of DTLA. This was second time taking a Pilates class and I definitely won’t be going back to this place. The instructors were very rude and not welcoming at all. Very dismissive. It was a 7A class, which I know is early but still if you want someone to join wouldn’t you be nice? I’ll try Pilates again and Solid Core for sure but not this place. Only giving it 2 stars but it was a great workout

I’ve been coming to Lagree213 for the past six months, and it’s now my favorite workout! I love how it combines cardio, flexibility, and core strength training. Every class is intense (so sweaty and shaky!) and really challenges me to keep pushing my limits. All the instructor are really great too!

Love Lagree 213! This is my happy place, I always leave feeling stronger and challenged (and zen)! All the instructors really care about their classes, all focusing on your form making sure your targeting each muscle that's being focused on. It's 45 minutes of you time - your mind and body will be happy! Take a class!

I love Lagree and this studio! I’ve done so many different work outs and lagree has gotten me the most fit, strong, and toned the quickest. And all the instructors are great! I especially love Michael, Rachael, and Liv.

I’m happy to share that I LOVE LOVE LOVE my experience here + everything about this facility. As a fitness enthusiast & wellness-freak, I’ve been to many different studios/gyms & tried a variety of exercises modalities. I love the sense of novelty LAGREE does for me that almost seems like you’re challenging yourself (mind over matter baby). This one is by far the most fascinating tool, I can FEEL the significance on my entire body, from my spine, lumbar, upper body, to abdominal muscles specifically. The DTLA energy is incredible, the people are nice (shoutout to my trainer Karley Brooks, she’s amazing one I love her positive energy throughout the class!), plus validated parking on the garage is a win-win for me. My first time doing LAGREE was beyond what I expected from a 45mins class, the next day soreness feels so rewarding tbh, pain the your a$$ but I’d totally do it all over again. Thanks a lot for a wonderful “sweat & shake” experience, I look forward to attend my next LAGREE213 class! ❤️❤️❤️

I started going here about five months ago and I'm hooked! It's a little confusing when you first start because there's so many moves and it quite frankly seems like a whole other language, but if you keep going, you get the hang of it and your body won't regret it! I feel so much stronger and leaner after being consistent the past few months. Michael and Kaitlyn are my favorite trainers here.
I just walk to the studio but they provide free parking in the parking garage if you're driving. The studio is always super clean and they lock the door when the class starts so I always feel safe. Highly highly recommend trying out this studio!

I have a member at Lagree213-Historic core for the last month and have enjoyed every class and instructor! They really make you work for it and money is well spent. One thing to consider and I've expressed feedback to them about is the app. booking and cancellations. Unfortunately, you cannot reschedule an original booking so once you book, THAT'S IT, no turning back or else you are charged a $15 late cancellation or a $25 no show fee (understandable). It is the late cancellation that is hard to swallow because life happens and/or you think your body can take another day and wake up and your body says nope. Lagree213 instructors are good about advocating to "listen to your body." So in doing that, sometimes you can't make that class you booked and want to reschedule it for another day/time but you can't do this. Hopefully this can be improved. Outside of that, this place is amazing and I look forward to being a member here as long as I'm living in the area :)

I loved my two experiences at 213 Arts District. From the convenient parking lot, clean/new machines, and the amazing trainer Maggie. She really keeps an eye on your form, corrects you, and offers modifications if things are too difficult.
Loved the promo of free socks with your first class as well! Definitely will be back and recommend.

I went to their Arts District branch for few times now. I like Lagree classes in general and this is the closest one to my home. It takes 15mins to get there. Today, there was a really bad traffic in the freeway. It took me 10mins longer than usual. I got there about 6-7 mins late. I was upset that they didnt let me in. I swear to God on my previous classes they let people in even they are more than 10 mins late. I'm very disappointed how they said I should be considerate. They will charge me for a fee from classpass. I wish they treat classpass people better. It's a bummer that there are trainers that could treat you rude in person. I tried my best to get to your class. I'm 6-7mins late and was never late before in any other classes. BUT ON MY OTHER CLASSES PEOPLE WERE LATE BUT THEY STILL LET THEM IN. (THEY NEVER CLOSE THE DOOR ON MY OTHER. CLASSES EXCEPT FOR TODAY)

I tried 2 classes here one with Maggie and Michael. I love that the instructors are really well trained and are able to give such detailed and purely lagree classes. The studio is airy and minimal. Bright. The workout makes you cut. I loved my experience and hope to visit downtown LA one day soon and do a class at lagree213!

I love Lagree 213!!! Even though I have been coming for awhile now, the workout is always challenging. I can tell I’m getting stronger, but I still shake and every move definitely pushes me to my limits. The studio is very welcoming and the instructors are very helpful in corrections and motivation to help you get through the workout. Also, the schedule is very convenient, especially on the weekends, when I am available. There are multiple class times offered. I recommend adding this to your workout regimen. I’m so glad I did.

Avoid this studio at all cost. If you come to class five minutes early they will lock out. They will send you very aggressive messages in return and berate you. Their classes are not good either. I wanted to try them during Covid and I prefer MDR Pilates far above them. Horrible classes and horrible customer care.

I’ve been a client of this studio for a couple years now (since before the change in location and owner). I recently posted a negative review about them on yelp because they lost my favorite and only instructor I took classes from. I literally only went to this studio because of Charity Hodges and they lost her, I’m assuming due to bad business practices (cause she still teaches at others studios in town). Anyway my point is, after my yelp review my friends reached out to me to let me know they’ve had really bad experiences here! One told me that an instructor, Lisa, straight up yelled at her for accidentally showing up to the wrong class! I repeat, she got yelled at!! An instructor yelled at her client!! That’s outrageous. My friend immediately left the studio.

All my favorite trainers came back and now there are new ones that are great too. I'm getting my butt kicked big time and loving it. It's the BEST workout!

This is not your traditional Pilates class, they use the the megaformer (not reformer) and practice the Lagree method which targets multiple muscles at a time. Transitions are faster and muscle burnout happens quicker. Aside from there once a week form and technique class don’t expect to be taught how to do the exercises or get any modifications. I would love to see some different level classes here as I would like to be taught some modifications to help prevent further injury.
