I started at Leap as I was not satisfied with my own gym workouts and as a marathon runner in his mid-50’s I was finding myself getting injured more frequently. In the short 3 months the results have been outstanding. My core is much stronger, my running form has changed for the better and I’ve learned as a runner that mobility and flexibility is more important than weight training. What I appreciate about Leap is that the training is one-on-one in a small but fully equipped gym and that the training is customized based on the client’s goals. It’s not a one size fits all approach.

I trained with Gabe 2-3x a week for a year, and I can’t recommend him enough! I enjoy strength training but have struggled with previous hip injuries. Thanks to Gabe’s coaching, I have so much more mobility, strength, and a routine that feels sustainable for years to come!
Gabe created customized programs for me (with added optional homework for days we didn’t train together). He’s supportive, pushes you, but also gets that life happens sometimes! He is there to help you roll with the punches and adjust accordingly. Seeing him every week felt therapeutic. He genuinely cares about his clients and helping them succeed.
As for the studio, the owner Ronan has created a warm, welcoming environment at LEAP. I attended some of their group workshops and loved how positive and encouraging everyone is. It makes you feel like you belong, regardless of what level of training or strength you start at.

I had the pleasure of working with Michael Barrios as my personal trainer at Leap Fitness for 16 weeks. What a transformative journey it has been! If you're looking for a coach who walks alongside you, helps you feel truly comfortable in your own body, and guides you toward holistic health, Michael is the one for you. When I first started, my nervous system was in overdrive, and I felt disconnected; mind, body, and spirit. Today, I’m more free, peaceful, and healthy than I’ve ever been, and I attribute much of that growth to Michael’s thoughtful and intuitive coaching.
His style blends gentleness with deep wisdom. He listens intently, makes you feel heard, and teaches you what “whole health” can look like, tailored to your unique needs. In our first couple of weeks, he took the time to unpack my goals and understand the “why” behind them. From there, our sessions (twice weekly for the first six weeks) focused on how my body feels and moves, incorporating warm-ups, foundational movements (squats, lunges, push/pull, etc.), and stress-reducing techniques like guided breathwork and rolling.
After those initial weeks, we shifted to once-weekly sessions that emphasized grounding movement and healing practices. This slower, more intentional approach helped me reconnect with myself and build sustainable movement and nutrition habits; something I hadn’t experienced in over a decade of trying many different diets and fitness routines.
Michael’s passion and years of expertise truly shine in his guided meditations, breathwork workshops, and energy healing practices. These were especially transformational for me. Thanks to our work together, I’ve rediscovered joy in movement. My weekly practice now feels good, like a labor of love; not like a chore or a means to an end.

Ronan and Leap have been a game changer for me. I had gained a ton of weight and didn't know how to get out of my rut. I have had an excellent experience with Michael at Lead Fitness for the past 6 weeks. I decided to go to Michael because I wanted to address multiple long-standing areas of pain, misalignment and strength imbalance. Michael has been wonderful to work with. He takes a holistic approach, and really understands anatomy/physiology as well as the mind-body connection. My sessions are more focused on physical therapy/mobility and strength balancing than "getting into shape" which is what I was looking for. I attend crossfit type classes in addition to my work with Michael. Then in each session with Michael, he assess what areas of the body we should attend to in order to balance out my workouts and prevent injury in my training. I highly recommend Michael and Leap Fitness.

I started working with Ronan in Spring 2024. I wanted to work on my flexibility and mobility as I had done a few marathons and was starting to feel the impact of this in terms of tightness, stiffness and fatigue. I also have a shoulder condition that means I cant do any heavy lifting with one arm.
Working with Ronan has been everything that I wanted from a Trainer, he has helped me improve my mobility and also added in strength training for my legs. I am consistently running faster than before and enjoying running more than ever.
Ronan makes the sessions fun but most importantly understands my limitations and works around them. He is not the kind of trainer who will just try and push you through something, he is considered and measured and works around your functionality.

I can’t say enough positive things about Leap and my experience training with Gabriel (though I’ve had sessions with all of their trainers and all are great). I’m currently seven months pregnant and have been training with Gabriel since month two. In many ways, I feel better and stronger than I did before I was pregnant. Like I said, I’m 7 months along and have zero aches and pains—no back pain whatsoever and I work long hours at a desk all day. Before working with Gabriel, I had much worse posture, constant back/shoulder pain, and I wasn’t even pregnant. I chose Leap because they had trainers capable of taking me through my pregnancy, but I will 100% be returning post partum. I wish I’d discovered them sooner!

Gabriel at Leap has really been a critical part of transforming my life over the last 6 months. In our time together I have steadily lost 60 pounds without losing any muscle looking at my Dexa scan results each month. The holistic program he creates for me each week combines strength, mobility, and cardio. Beyond the 3 in person sessions, he programs daily at home exercise and cardio using an app we collaborate on. Before I travel, he customizes the programming through the all for what I will have available to me. Gabriel is very approachable, non-judgemental, and easy to talk to. He is super responsive over text when you have questions or need to adjust something. When I wake up the in the morning I have grown to crave exercise partly because Gabriel has been able to introduce variety each week. Ronan is an incredible coach who increased my thoracic mobility and leg strength allowing me to properly train for and pass a specific event from the new Army Combat Fitness Test (the Standing Power Throw). He reviewed videos of me performing the test, providing feedback via his own demonstration videos, while passing along training regimes and tips. James is the best. He’s not your normal massage therapist. He is very experienced in several modalities and is a true healer. I struggled with mobility issues after a pilon fracture. I was in PT for two years with little improvement. The mobility issue caused back issues. After one session with James I had increased mobility in my ankle and my back felt like new. He truly is remarkable.

Ronan taught me how to properly workout, lift weights etc.
I’m so thankful for the skills I learned - how to properly deadlift, do curls, HIT etc.
Out of all of the skills Ronan taught me, ultimately the most impactful thing I learned was a new found sense of confidence, that I could become a healthier version of myself. I now have a small gym in my house where work out a few times a week.
An added bonus is - my wife and I were recently walking on the beach and she said “damn, your looking pretty ripped”. It was a personal win to hear that.

Leap is an amazing training and wellness studio. I’ve been going there for almost three months and the results are phenomenal. I feel healthier, stronger, and most importantly experience less pain when doing the activities I love. Ronan takes a wholesome approach and addresses not just physical fitness but also nutrition and mental well being. I train with him once a week focusing on mobility and strength with the goal of improving my physical fitness and golf game. I see Jazmin twice a week, primarily focusing on strength. The entire team is great at creating engaging and challenging programs that improve my fitness. They deliver the training in a one-in-one environment allowing for personalization and privacy. Everyone is bought into my success which offers another level of motivation. One of my recent breakthroughs with them was developing a stretching plan before and after golf rounds to alleviate sharp lower back pain. I’ve worked with the Leap Fitness Team for a couple of years now.
My journey has been from frustration to empowerment.
I lacked clarity on what was the right exercise program for me. I was following YouTube exercises and not getting the results and sometimes getting injured.
At Leap Fitness they did a very detailed assessment of my strength, stability, and also Lifestyle factors.

I have had the pleasure of working with both Ronan and Rick over the years. They have coached me back to full health and wellness at different stages of my life. Ronan is the ABSOLUTE BEST!!! With a vast body of knowledge, good communication skills and a great sense of humor he makes each workout session interesting and enjoyable! I came to Ronan 2 years ago with recurring neck pain and frustration that my workouts kept creating further injury and were not achieving the level of fitness I was seeking. Within a few months of working with Ronan 2-3 times a week, my neck was fully functional and pain free and my overall health greatly improved. We start each session with a check-in as to how my body responded to the previous workout and we go from there. Thanks to Ronan, I have remained injury free and am finally achieving my fitness goals!

Rick is by far the best trainer I have ever worked with. I've had a few aches, pains, and body problems over the years and he is able to modify our exercise routine to not only avoid the problem areas, but create exercises that strengthen and improve them. He is also super knowledgeable about nutrition and how to provide your body with the fuel to maximize the work out results. Plus he's an overall nice guy. I HIGHLY recommend him.

Holding over 20 certifications, a full understanding of bio-mechanics, a holistic lifestyle coach, and an ex-master trainer from The Sports Club LA, Rick has an absolute grasp of what personal training/corrective exercise really is about. Attaining a wealth of knowledge, particularly from the CHEK Institute, Gary Gray physical therapy, and Gray Cook (Athletic Body in Balance).
He's helped me rehab my knee after having meniscus surgery, put on a few pounds of muscle while losing a large % of body fat, fix an anterior pelvic tilt, master my diet by figuring out my metabolic typing, clean my functional movement patterns, and overall support of lifestyle changes with a sensible and logical approach.
A lot of people are gassed up on these sites but this man is the absolute truth!!! Worth scheduling a session with and checking him out for yourself. Results will be seen...GUARANTEED!!!

I've been training 1-2 times/week with Ronan at Leap Fitness for the last 6 months. It's been a great experience after many months of pandemic exercising in my living room.
I initially picked Leap Fitness for its convenient location (when it comes to exercise, if it's not convenient, I won't show up...). And the facility is great - it's a small studio, but it's private and has everything you need. Over time, I really got to know and appreciate Ronan's approach. From our very first session with a functional movement screen, every session is designed based on his observations of how my body is performing. It's like a continual feedback loop customized to you, rather than following an established program. Best of all, Ronan has a great attitude, and I look forward to every workout.

In the eight years that I have known and worked with Ronan, I have found him to be the best personal trainer I have ever come across, before or since.
Many personal trainers claim to have a holistic philosophy, but Ronan actually applies this concept. His approach is end to end, in terms of physical, psychological, and nutritional health and wellbeing.
As opposed to a “one size fits all approach” Ronan listens to, observes, and addresses each client’s individual needs, and based on this crafts a program that truly allows them to accomplish their goals. And he does this with compassion, humor, and expert insight.
It’s about affecting a lifestyle shift, that goes much deeper than merely “exercise.” He did this for me when I first started working with him in 2013, and with his coaching and support was able to lose close to 100 pounds. He helped me re-examine my relationship to food, my assumptions about fitness in general, and my perception of myself.
I moved away from the Bay Area in 2017, and worked with a number of other trainers in the years since, but was never able to find the same level of comfort, motivation, and tailored approach that Ronan provided.
When social distancing protocols forced the closure of gyms in 2020, I reached out to Ronan again, hoping that he had adjusted his working model based on the situation, and would be able to provide personal training remotely. Thankfully he did.
We’ve been working together again on a regular basis since the fall of last year. While there are definite challenges and adjustments to be made with a remote, video-conference-based training model, Ronan’s approach has made this transition incredibly seamless and effective. Based on the equipment I had at my disposal — including some smaller items he suggested acquiring (e.g. kettlebells) — he crafted a training program that once again suited my needs, also taking into account the space I had available at home.
The only regret I have is that I didn’t call him sooner before last year. With his guidance and expert instruction, I feel healthier both physically and mentally, and am able to be at my best — both in my work, and most importantly at home as a husband and father. I am very grateful to Ronan and look forward to working with him for as long as possible, whether in-person or remotely.

Ronan goes way beyond straight strength training. In addition to strength he works on your core, posture and flexibility. He is extremely observant and will notice things about the way you move and train and then incorporate it into your workout.
Ronan also spends a lot of time keeping up with the latest techniques in training. He has a wide knowledge of physical health and how to enhance and maintain it.

I've trained with Ronan for almost three years, having had a "meh" experience with other instructors before. He is superlative. I used to go once a week but am now working out with him twice a week and the the change in how I feel and what I can do is quite amazing. Ronan knows how much to push because he takes the time to understand your body and what you are capable of, and he is invariably upbeat and encouraging. I have had the experience of working out with trainers for about 20 years. All have helped me work on my body, but when I switched to Ronan Lennon about 5 years ago, I had no idea what an upgrade he would be. There are some trainers who think they know it all, or, at least are not interested in continuing to learn. This is the opposite of Ronan. He is dedicated to his clients, and to his profession. If a client has an issue with any part of the body, Ronan will study up and be prepared to offer informed, expert advice by the next class. He will tailor his exercise set to your individual needs and closely monitor your technique - both so you get the intended benefit from the exercise and to ensure you do it correctly. He has helped me through muscle strains, joint issues and even diet. When Covid hit, he was quick to adjust to Zoom body work classes and switched my wife and me from individual classes to joint ones, still recognizing our different requirements. On top of all this, he is well read, a pleasure to talk with and always professional. I could not recommend him more highly!
