The best place to bring your child for classes. The atmosphere is warm and friendly, the Professors are always welcoming, and it truly feels like home. The discipline is excellent and safety is always a top priority. We absolutely love this place!

Legacy is a great home for anyone . It’s got the most beautiful, kind and supportive people . I started training there about two and half years ago and I never looked back . I like their gi, NoGi , and kettle jitsu classes . I like gi classes because using the gi help understand grips and how to use them to transition into different moves while rolling . NoGi jiu jitsu is equally amazing . I love both gi and NoGi and training in both helped me become a better rolling partner and helped me understand how to set up a better plan or sequence of things I wanna go for when rolling or competing
Kettle jitsu in particular… is a great kettle bell class that incorporates stretches and kettle bell workouts designed by Professor Joey . The kettle jitsu class is for anyone wanting to improve their fitness goals but also great for jiu jitsu practitioners wanting to elevate their game because the exercises help recover from jiu jitsu training as well….. and believe me , your body will need this type of recovery . Professor joey is great at what he does and very supportive and understanding of everyone’s fitness goals . His kettle bell class is 🔥🔥🔥. Highly recommend it to everyone !

I'm from NorCal and while on a family trip I decided to drop in for a Tuesday evening intermediate gi class. I definitely made a good decision in choosing to come to this location as the facility is set up very nicely and the staff and students were very welcoming. I would not hesitate recommending this location to anyone interested in training BJJ.

The place is ok, but the OWNER needs to fix the inside temperature problem. When asked the employees they said there's nothing they can do. They turned on a huge fan which made it worse simple blowing hot air around. Air Conditioning in the main room where the little kids train is out of order or can't keep up.
The temperature today was 86° around 4pm. That is not ok. The little kids have a hard time keeping up with training and the excessive heat, no matter how much water they drink. Not even sure weather this is legal to have over 40+ people in a room with AC not working.

I don’t leave reviews, and I honestly hesitated about writing this one… Legacy Burbank hosted an in-house tournament on 05/01. I signed up as soon as it was posted, but tore my MCL about a month before. As soon as that happened I contacted Anthony via text, phone call, and email about a refund. It was such a hassle getting in touch with someone and TO THIS DAY, I have not received a refund. It’s less about the money, but this shows how little appreciation he and the team have about their clients.

I had the good fortune of staying at a hotel in Burbank just minutes away from this world class facility headed by American BJJ legend Professor Alberto Crane, an exceptionally gracious, welcoming personality. I’ve been around some great teaching in my 26 years in jiu-jitsu and the class I took with Professor Blake was no exception; he provided concise, methodical, technical instruction and delivered it with professionalism and friendliness. You’ll find a nice vibe and family-oriented environment at Legacy BJJ!

I can’t say enough good things about Legacy Jiu-Jitsu! My son has been training here for almost a year, and the impact on his confidence, social skills, and overall attitude has been incredible. The instructors focus on much more than just technique—they teach discipline, respect, and perseverance. The environment is welcoming and supportive. If you’re looking for a place where your child can develop confidence, resilience, and valuable life skills through Jiu-Jitsu, I highly recommend Legacy!

This place is amazing. It's a one stop shop that has everything you would want in a martial arts gym. I chose this place because it has BJJ, Muay Thai (Bang), AND Judo (2x a week). It also has MMA training, plus functional fitness programs like kettle jitsu and tacfit. It offers programs for toddlers, kids, and teens, plus it has 2 gyms with weights, clubs, maces, etc. that you have full privileges to as a member. The price for the unlimited package which gives you access to everything is STEEP (but definitely worth it imo as you won't need any other gym membership).
I also really like the fact that you are mainly trained by senior black belts/professors as opposed to purple/brown belt coaches (no offense ofc). This gym is run in a professional manner with experienced instructors who prioritize safety above all else. This leads to a safe, fun, and encouraging atmosphere/culture that is conducive to learning and growing. The people are nice, welcoming, and encouraging. Parking can be an issue at times but is not too bad.
Overall, this is a wonderful place that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to get into striking and/or grappling or who just wants to get in shape in a fun and effective way. 5 stars for sure!

Dropped into a nogi class taught by Prof Joey. Everyone was chill and welcoming. Joey gave great tips during drilling and passed on helpful details. Rolling was tough but controlled and respectful. The space is cool, clean and quite large. Highly recommend!

I'm extremely glad I found this place.
Professor Alberto Crane and all the professors genuinely care for each student's progress. Everybody there has great sportsmanship. The energy is super friendly and motivating. After searching for the right Jiu jitsu Gym to try BJJ for the first time in my life, i could not have been happier to have been led to this spot. They currently offer a free one time class so there's no risk in trying it out. Kevin at the front desk was extremely helpful, answering all my questions before i even asked. Felt like family from day one. This place is LEGIT try it out.

Clean, friendly and a great environment overall. Good place to train. They have different classes you can choose from to get your workout on. The BJJ has great people to teach basics and advanced skills. Would continue to support this place.
I do wish they offer discounts for more than 1 people to join and cross training.

Been doing this for about a year and a half now. I don’t know how many places like this make their community the first priority to feel welcome but they definitely show it for those who are new that enter Legacy. If you want something that’ll help you get in shape, trying new skills, or any goal in particular I recommend trying it out. Enjoy the journey and hope to see you soon.

My husband has been training at Legacy for about a year. I was finally able to make it to a class recently and was very impressed by the facility, but what really stood out to me was how family-oriented the gym was. While I was there I had the opportunity to meet the gym owner, Alberto, and his wife. The instructor I worked with was very knowledgeable and was able to teach to the class with varying levels of experience. I now know why my husband enjoys his time here to much! I appreciate that they have so many different class and time offerings and I am looking forward to returning soon for my next class!

Coach Dan does not have the proper attitude to teach young children and teens jujitsu. My children trained here for over 2 years and had a fantastic experience until he took over these classes. Many left here before us because of him and we saw signs of his demeaning attitude toward some but then it happened to us. He instigated an argument with my wife, was totally impatient and got confrontational rather than instructional when she asked a question. When we told the office about this, Alberto's wife asked Dan about it and he was not honest. So faced with this, we left there never to return. I am so sad for my boys who worked hard there, they didn't care about that. They didn't care to fix the issue and proved that it was all about the contract and money rather than our time and investment in the program and the community. Alberto is a great guy but he is losing lifetime students and family because of this employment choice.

Out of town and was looking for a place to train. It was a great choice! From the moment I walked in the door I was greeted by not only instructors but at least 5 students who were willing to show me around and sign me in.
Great locker room and shower area plus 2 separate workout training areas a huge plus.
Jiu jitsu instruction was phenomenal, had great rolls with 2 of the black belts. Great time! Highly suggested

Just went to my first BJJ class at Legacy and signed up on the spot. The minute I walked in, I felt accepted and welcome.
Absolutely zero, "WTF are you doin here?!"
Jessica helped me get oriented, loaned me a gi and gave me a complete rundown of the school. She answered every lame question I had with patience and a smile.
Everyone else I met was just as awesome. Josiah led the white belts through drills and rolling and was very helpful and supportive. I feel like a learned a ton!
I'll be in here as much as possible.

Professor Crane is a exemplary instructor in martial arts. He is gracious, respectful and welcoming. His background in jiu-jitsu and MMA is impressive, but he remains modest and approachable. His training staff are great too. There is a positive, healthy atmosphere in his training studio, with lots of mutual respect, encouragement, and attention to individual needs and safety.
I never felt pressured signing up, in fact, I was offered a family plan such that after I enrolled 3 members, others were free. It is not cheap, but it encourages you to go often. There is no better whole body workout, and there's lots to do there. My only criticism, if I have to mention one, would be that their emphasis is more tournament oriented and less street defense. My daughters liked the former, and I prefer more of the latter.
When I've had health issues, my monthly billing was easily put on hold with a simple phone call. Same with my daughter's broken wrist (done while ice skating!). They were very understanding and accommodating.
I'm so glad Prof. Crane brought Brazilian jiu-jitsu to Burbank and provided a safe and welcoming place for my family to learn this great art and martial discipline.

Professor Alberto Crane teaches at least once a day here, and supports his advance students who decide to compete in tourney's. Coach Donny, Artin, and Jorge provide excellent Jiu Jitsu instruction as well. From Professor Crane down to his kids coaches, all answer questions and provide private lessons if requested. The gym has various arts to train and master, they even have weights and running machines. Professor Crane has turned his school to more than just paying patrions, we are all part of a family that learn an art. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is by far the best full body workout I've experienced, the Mui Thai is great as well to work body and especially your abs (core strength). All the classes have different levels, and they constantly try to keep the student to instructor ratio down by adding more classes. How do you keep track of all the classes... well they have an app for your mobile phones too.

Terrible place, I expected better to say the least. They have a variety of fighting methods available but no actual expertise is expressed in those classes, except for probably jiu-jitsu. They overcharge, and you need to put a down payment, for some reason which is beyond me. Nothing bad to say about Professor Crane, he was respectful, unlike his assistant Lance, who was pushy when signing up and I personally felt uncomfortable towards the end.
Don't go here unless you plan to train for Jiu-jitsu and be ready for the overpriced monthly payments.
All the other reviews are bullshit by the way.
