​Life Athletics: Unleashing the Athlete in You since 2016.
​We believe life is your sport. Our training goes beyond the gym, focusing on making you strong and fit for daily life—especially important as activity levels drop.
​I originally sought to train elite competitors, but I quickly realized that an athlete's strength, flexibility, and injury resistance are the very things most people lack. Bringing this effective, athletic training approach to all clients (starting with the seniors I worked with) delivered truly amazing results.

I've been working with Joel at Life Athetics in Orange now for a few months and my experience so far has been excellent. Joel asked me my fitness and health goals and designed a strength training program that fits my schedule and gets my heart pumping. I'm in my 60s and I am more fit now than I was in my 40s.

I’m a big guy. I have struggled with weight for many years. I have tried diets and have only been successful in the short term, eventually gaining back what I’ve lost and more. Now in my mid-50s, I knew I needed to make some changes. I was gaining weight, tired all the time, and not sleeping well. I knew another diet wasn’t the answer, and I also knew I needed accountability. It was important to me to work out hard but not injure myself. I have done that in the past. Joel is knowledgeable, takes the time to get to know your physical limitations, and adjusts your workout accordingly. I meet with Joel weekly, and he continually changes the training to hit all muscle groups differently each time. When I first started, I was sore almost until the next meeting. Now that I’m feeling better and not feeling like I was hit by a truck for days following my workout, I’m considering adding another day to my weekly training. Joel knows what he’s doing and is attentive to your personal needs. He will push you, but be mindful to keep you from getting injured. He’s knowledgeable enough to know that line. I’ve narrowed my waistline by 8” and I’ve had to remove a link on my watch. I highly recommend him.

When I think about Life Athletics, these are the words that come up in my mind: rebirth, self-love, grace, elevation, acceptance, accountability, and discipline. After a few years in taking time to work on my career and taking initiative to work on my healing journey, I was called to work on my physical health. I learned about self love and grace inside this gym. Without realizing it, I was practicing positive self-talk and showing up as my realest self. I am blessed to work out twice a week at Life Athletics since July/August 2022. I have to mention Joel as well. His knowledge in fitness has helped immensely as a guidance and support throughout my journey. Most importantly, his passion, discipline, and dedication to continue learning from his profession and others is what made me knew I was in the right place. I was in a brave and safe space to show up for myself each and every week. My experience at Life Athletics has taught me valuable lessons about life. This gym isn’t only a gym, it’s a vessel/fundamental foundation of what it is to be living in this place called life. The exercises, correct form/posture, mobility and strength training have helped me face myself and life situations in a healthier matter. There won’t be a perfect time to start anything in life. Joel is a very skilled trainer. His knowledge in the human body and sports therapy surpasses most physical therapists I have been to for muscle issues/pain. He has changed my life within just several sessions of demor muscle spot therapy. I have been struggling with muscle issues for the past year, and Joel has brought my pain levels down from an 8 to a 4.
I am a graduate student as well as a dancer as a hobby, so the amount of stress I have in my life is at a maximum, but Joel has truly made a difference in my life.

Joel is really great! I came in after a major car accident and still had some injuries. Joel listened to my needs and worked with me to not only rebuild basic strength and balance, but also to improve my confidence getting back into a work out routine. Joel is the best personal trainer I’ve ever worked with. He has helped me get stronger and build muscle. He makes me feel very comfortable and works with me when I have injuries or aches and pains. He knows what he’s doing with fitness and muscle education. He also does great with deep tissue and body/ muscle work.

He also works with my 15 year old daughter who plays volleyball at Orange Lutheran High school and ACT volleyball club. He’s really helped improve her form in lift and her game performance.

We are so happy to have found Life Athletics. Our daughter is a high school athlete and wanted to supplement her regular program with a professional trainer to focus on strength, conditioning and agility.

9 months later, she’s thrilled with her results. Her body is transforming right before our eyes; shedding unnecessary weight, gaining inches where desired, and strengthening her whole body beyond just the muscle groups used in her sport.
She’s added 11” and counting to her vertical jump and gained more confidence on and off the court.

Joel creates a fun environment to work out in. From asking Alexa to play your favorite music, to creating thoughtful workouts to maximize results, I don’t think she’s had the same workout twice. Individual performance and results are posted throughout the gym which allows you to track your gains and see what else is possible.

Beyond the gym, Joel is dedicated to his client’s growth and development. Sharing links to valuable content that’s specific to your development, attending games to evaluate performance and even attending primary practices to ensure consistency is maintained across the board.

Most importantly; our daughter looks forward to working out and challenging herself to continuously improve.
