I’ve been training with Danny Burde for nearly a year, and the results have been beyond anything I expected. He has helped me achieve a sculpted, strong physique while focusing on proper nutrition, injury prevention, and correcting muscular imbalances along the way. I’ve never felt healthier or more confident.
What really sets Danny apart is that he makes training fun and motivating, not intimidating. Every workout is tailored to my goals, my body type, and how I’m feeling that day — and somehow he always knows when to push me harder and when to prioritize recovery.
Danny is the perfect balance of knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely supportive. Whether you want to get lean, gain muscle, improve mobility, or just learn how to work out safely and effectively, I can’t recommend him enough. Working with him has been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and fitness.

Daniel was amazing to work with at Lifetime! He took the time to walk me through all the membership options, answered every question, and made everything super easy to understand. The gym itself is incredible — beautiful space, great energy, and tons of amenities — but Daniel’s professionalism and genuine personality really stood out. Highly recommend talking to him if you’re thinking about joining!

I’m currently A member at the one in Arden decided to take my son to the one in Folsom called an hour ahead of time because I live an hour away from the gym. They told me it was fine to bring my son. I get there with my son and my wife using a day pass on my wife the lady looks at me and tells me that my son looks too small to go into the pool that we don’t except newborns, but he wasn’t a newborn so the lady said I guess it’s fine. Perceives to check me in And my wife Then, as soon as she scans my wife’s day pass, she tells me The kid friendly pool is closed at 6 o’clock when I called ahead of time they didn’t tell me any of this information And then when I left, I called back frustrated to find out the times and ages for kids to be in the pool and they didn’t know the answers to any of the questions so then he puts me on hold To find out the Answer to my question about the ages that can be In the kid Pool and getting my day pass back because my wife never even entered the gym the lady scanned her day pass and then told us we couldn’t take my kids swimming He couldn’t find out for me or get my day pass back basically telling me that I lost that day pass as I’m trying to speak to him, he tells me he’s Busy because there’s an event and he has to either he puts me on hold or he hangs up on me his exact words so I hung up ……There’s no difference between the Members that were getting checked in and me who got turned away after an hour of driving I am a member just like the people who were waiting in line and I want me day pass back I honestly felt Like they didn’t care and didn’t want to help me.

Rough first time visit. They're heavily under construction and we came in for a tour. Ended up leaving because the noise from construction was unbearable. Staff we dealt with at front desk had an arrogance to him. Not a great first impression. Facilities looked good...wish we had a better experience.

The lady at the front desk was so unhelpful… I went there to join and I asked how much was the membership. She said you could go look online. I think they should fire such lazy staff. If you are the management check schedule July 28th, 7 pm I went to join with a card but I felt so unwelcomed I would never ever going to lifetime fitness. With so great amenities, they deserve welcoming staff

Overpriced and Declining – Management Prioritizes Profit Over Members
This place used to be a decent center, but over time, it has become overpriced and poorly maintained. With little local competition, management seems to be getting greedier, cutting corners while increasing fees.
The Good:
✔ Convenient location – Easy to access.
✔ Kids' room – Helpful for parents.
✔ Wide selection of equipment – Plenty of options for workouts.
✔ Large indoor and outdoor pools – A nice feature when available.
The Bad:
❌ Overcrowded classes – Nearly always full, requiring registration weeks in advance.
❌ Frequent sauna & hot tub issues – The outdoor hot tub has been intermittently broken for months, sometimes out of service for weeks.
❌ Aggressive food and other ads on gym TVs – Unavoidable if your treadmill faces the screen, making workouts feel like an infomercial.
❌ Dirty & broken lockers – Maintenance is clearly lacking.
❌ Pools often reserved for classes – As a regular member, you frequently lose access.
❌ Summer pool overcrowding – Packed to the point of being unusable.
❌ Now charging for pickleball rackets – Previously free for members, now $5–10 to rent cheap equipment.
❌ Predatory membership pause policy – You must request a pause 30 days in advance, and the process is deliberately misleading. First, they ask for a reactivation date, then inform you the pause starts 30 days later—ensuring they squeeze every last dollar from traveling members.
Final Verdict:
Unless you have no other options, this gym isn’t worth the high cost. The declining quality, nickel-and-diming tactics, and poor management make it hard to recommend.
Update – +1 Star for Management Engagement and Some Improvements
Adding a star for management reaching out and making a visible effort to address some of my concerns. Several broken lockers have been repaired, though many still show signs of wear. I also appreciate the noticeable improvement in the quality of customer support — staff seem more responsive and willing to help.
That said, the growing crowding issue hasn’t improved, and many of the core frustrations around space usage and access still remain. While it’s encouraging to see some steps in the right direction, there’s still work to be done for this location to feel like a truly premium gym experience again.

Fantastic Experience with Randy Mitchell at Life Time
I had the pleasure of touring at Life Time with Randy Mitchell (Membership Concierge) and I couldn’t be more impressed! From the moment we arrived, Randy was incredibly attentive, taking the time to understand our family’s needs and ensuring that my son and I felt completely at ease.
His knowledge of the facility and its wide range of options was outstanding. He patiently walked us through all the available classes, programs, making sure we had a clear understanding of how Life Time could support our health and wellness goals. Randy’s personalized approach and commitment to customer care truly made a difference.
Thanks to his excellent guidance, we feel confident that Life Time is the right fit for our family. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares and goes above and beyond to accommodate your needs, Randy is the one to trust!
Highly recommend!

I almost didn't join because of the low score reviews. But man am I glad I did. Everyone is incredibly nice, I have no idea what the other reviews were going on about. The kids club is amazing. They have an organized activity every hour, our daughter loves it. They have a super shallow indoor pool we can swim with her in. They have a ton of spin classes. They just had free pictures with Santa. This place is a no brainer for us.

Lifetime is a great place for your workout but with some room for improvement.
I have been a member for over 2 years. This facility offers a variety of equipment, classes, and a playroom for kids.
However, many skilled trainers have left this location due to poor management. I personally had a disappointing experience with Jason Montgomery. He displayed a lack of professionalism, failed to address or resolve our account issue in a timely manner, and, when confronted face-to-face, was rude and disrespectful. His approach was unhelpful, and I hope he improves his attitude in the future.
POSITIVES:
There are a few fantastic personal and group class trainers, but choose them wisely. Many trainers are new and have only 6-8 weeks (60 hours) of training, which is often insufficient for professional-level training. To avoid disappointment and waisted time and money, select your personal trainers carefully.
Personal Trainers:
* Miles S: Excellent for bodybuilding and powerlifting.
* David Owen: One of the most knowledgeable trainers, especially for post-injury sessions. He ensures proper technique to prevent further injuries.
* Sophia C: Fantastic for personal Pilates.
I also appreciate all your yoga instructors.
Group Trainers:
* Karen H: One of the best group trainers you’ll ever meet in your life! She leads and guides a group of 40 with clarity, while maintaining a fit, professional and stunning presence. I also love that she encourages us to do our best at each of her classes. It speak volume when you see other Lifetime trainers attending her classes as well. Her choice of music, exercises, and pace is impeccable.
* She is truly a GEM at this place, please ADD MORE CLASSES WITH KAREN H! Thank you, Karen, for being a role model to many of us.
CONS:
* Crowded: The gym accepts too many members, leading to overcrowding, especially during peak hours and weekends. The family room and changing areas are inadequate for the number of members, a situation likely to worsen with the new apartment complex across the street.
* Cleanliness: The equipment and floors, particularly in Studio 1, Studio 2, and the yoga studio, are consistently dirty. It’s unacceptable to arrive at a class and find the floors filthy, forcing members to clean before using the space. Cleaning staff should ensure thorough cleaning at least once a week, including equipment. Seeing piles of hair and debris on equipment is gross and should not happen at such a high-priced gym.
I stopped using jacuzzi and sauna due to the same cleanliness reasons.
It seems that young cleaning staff may lack proper training and often use their phones for person use during working hours. This contributes to the persistently dirty environment. Please address these issues by improving hiring practices and providing adequate training to your cleaning staff.

Update: Cleanliness has gotten worse. The pools and hot tubs look as if they haven’t been cleaned since opening. The hot sauna is constantly down. The steam room smells so bad. The front door has been broken for months. The general manager responds saying he is personally handling things but I’m not really sure what that means since things continue to get worse. Rates keep going up but the money is not being put back into the facilities. This place could be so amazing with the right leadership. Sad…
The cleanliness has really gone downhill. We go in right at opening and you would think it would be on the cleaner side. Everything is dirty and makes the facilities smell bad. The locker room sinks and benches are never clean, steam room is dirty and smells of mildew, and the hot tub area I don’t think has been cleaned since they opened. The amount of people is getting out of hand due to all the new construction and it may be time to open another location.

Lifetime Fitness Folsom Basketball Court Review
Let’s talk about the Lifetime Fitness Folsom basketball court. The rest of the club? Top-notch. Fresh towels? Check. Luxurious bathroom amenities? Absolutely. But the basketball court? Well, that's where the ball gets dropped—literally and figuratively.
First off, imagine stepping onto a court that seems to have been invaded by pickleball players who must believe the floor is a rugged outdoor trail. Outdoor shoes on an indoor court? It's like bringing sand to a beach—except this beach is your jump shot's worst nightmare. And if the shoe prints weren’t enough, the kids helpfully add their touch by turning the court into a sticky minefield of gum and trash. Ah, the joys of dodging wrappers while going for a layup!
Now, if you’re lucky enough to find a basketball that isn’t the wrong size, prepare yourself for one with the grip of a greased watermelon. Dribbling becomes a game of chance, and shooting? Let’s just say you might want to invest in a hand sanitizer stock, because you’ll be palming the ball more than Kobe ever did.
The hoops, when they're not on their monthly sabbatical, present their own set of challenges. Some lean like they're trying to take a nap, others stand short but at a height that turns your jump shot into a hopeful prayer. Oh, and that one perfect evening slot you love to play in? Get ready for the sun to pull a fast one on you. Western-facing windows mean every sunset becomes your opponent, blinding you just as you line up your game-winning shot. Who designed that? Probably the same person who thought the ball selection was *adequate*.
All in all, for a gym that charges a premium, you'd think the basketball court would be in better shape. Maybe fresh basketballs, a clean court, and properly working hoops aren’t too much to ask? After all, when you’re paying a small fortune, you’d expect a court that doesn’t make you feel like you’re playing in a post-apocalyptic pickup game.

Dirty pools, bad management and the class schedules are inconvenient.
I have been a member here for the past 3 years or so. This used to be one of the best gyms in Folsom. Now, the pools are dirty, Class schedules are oriented towards making you take personal training. The group classes are also very bad with most trainers. I have found peloton classes to be better compared to some of them offered at this Gym.
I have taken personal training here as well. The PT I was with was constantly changing exercises in every class. When asked why so many changes, I was told it is to make me familiar with a wide variety of exercises. I took 10 PT session and I didn't learn much nor achieve my goals.
I provided feedback on my experience on the App. There was no resolution to my feedback. I spent over $1K on PT and the management doesn't even have the courtesy to fix the problem.
The gym is also over crowded as many people here have grandfathered plans hence paying 50% compared to the new members.

hard done. summers are busy but this is absurd. Regularly having to stand in long lines for the bathrooms, family locker rooms (which are gross most of the time) and other basic services. Today after waiting finally getting a bathroom and locking my bathroom door it wiggled open twice after multiple people shook the door trying to find an open bathroom. Embarrassing for sure but just a symptom of a bigger problem.
I had been on the fence after multiple other things (not being able to access other clubs, losing personal training sessions I pre paid for because I didn't complete them in a certain time, loosing swim lessons when not completed in a very short introductory period fees on any credit card transaction etc) I think the reality is the shiny has worn off and now I am left feeling like I paid a lot (pushing $400 a month for a family) for very little in the end.

Have been a member for over three years and travel a lot. I did not have my wallet on me and tried to enter the gym I pay over $120 a month for and was denied since I didn’t have my card although they can and have looked up my account in the past via my name and phone number. I was denied the ability to workout in my own gym due to a receptionist named JC who decided he was above kindness and simply said I had no access which is not true. Customer service is half of business and this business seems to care about the facade of a nice new gym built upon cheap employees.
Even if there is a new policy stating cards must be present for entry, you must give your customers a warning or an advanced notice but lifetime was incapable.

One star given due to poor kids program which turned out to be far worse than anticipated. The children sat around bored for hours with little to no interaction from the people managing the program. $150 for a 50 minute training session yet they can only pay minimum wage to their cafe employee’s and people that clean! As I was signing up my membership they send a female trainer to set up a free training session with you after they have that session with you they take you to their office list out the prices for training packages which are $600 for 4 sessions a month and $1200 for 8 sessions! Can anyone tell me a job that pays 150 an hour trainer’s gets like $35 from that I mean if they were making $150 an hour they’d be driving LAMBO’s! This is a manipulative way for them to offer you a free session than quickly seduce you into signing a training contract that you will never be able to get out of! For such a high end gym yet they can only attract teens into working here!

Hopefully the corporate side of the business starts to notice the downward spiral of reviews. I was a member for 4 years and big advocate for both the Folsom and Roseville locations. The gyms, have been trending down with upset employees and trainers that are over worked and under appreciated. I had the pleasure of being there one day when an employee got on the intercom to express grievances, it was exciting to see management run around trying to find the person before more skeletons were revealed. As for me, I had a simple request to pause my account for 30 days to heal up an injury. I was told I could with a signed doctors note. That would be fine but doctors don't mail out signed notes and I was not going to make another appointment with the surgeon to retrieve one in person. This is the blanket policy of Lifetime and no sensibility was used in making an exception at the corporate level or at Folsom. The corporate person I was dealing with over email ghosted when I asked to cancel and the person on chat was encouraging my cancellation because they have their policies. This was the final straw for me after my second rate hike and continued post covid issues. For 4 years straight I raved about this gym to my friends, on social media and even on my business blog. Now because their greed, mistreatment of employees, "Policies" and rate hikes to existing clients, I'm out!! Let's not forget there is a 30 day delay in processing a cancellation.... Sure, signing up takes 10 minutes to take your money, cancelling takes 30 days. KYC Lifetime, you are charging a lot for your gym, treat your customers and employees like you value them.

I can’t say enough good things about this place! The front desk staff is so friendly and greet me by name everyday! The locker room staff is constantly keeping everything organized, stocked and so clean! The trainers are by far my favorite and so knowledgeable! Creig is the best and goes out of his way with all of his clients, he has changed my life in all ways, from eating to working out he really knows his stuff and cares about everyone of his clients! The personal trainers work so hard on the floor, if they aren’t busy training a client they are cleaning, organizing weights, helping people and making this gym the best. It hard to find a place that does so much for their guests and I’m so glad I get to come here.

It used to be much better, but the cost for the services now provided is not a good value. Pool is amazing, however the rules make it less fun for the family. We go to the Folsom aquatic center instead to have a better time. Food is good.

Been a member for a few years on and off. I love the place, I previously had a list of cons with the gym but was reached out to by Lyudmila, she was fantastic to speak with and told me they already are actively looking into vendors for the issues I had. She updated me on all the upgrades they are currently looking to do and I am happy with how everything was handled. I don't think I can stress enough how great and friendly the staff are at lifetime and how well everything is handled.
Pros - amazing staff always super nice and helpful, I have cancelled before for a couple months as the COVID thing came around and I didn't want to work out outside and never had a problem with that as other people in other reviews. Great amenities and lots of useful things. I love their sauna and steam room. Their equipment is always up to date and nothing is really ever broken. If it is it's fixed instantly. They have a good amount of cleaning stations and the equipment is quite clean too. They have some amazing after work out equipment also to help reduce muscle soreness and even equipment that teaches you how to run properly. I only know one of the trainers and he is super knowledgeable and keeps up with scientific data on the latest sports science and is always a pleasure to speak with. I have no issue with the staff as they are all amazing.

I like the facility. Clean, well maintained, nice bathrooms, towels provided. Unfortunately, I can't give more than 3 stars because of frequent rate hikes and failure to offer new member benefits that justify the increase. Membership dues are already way above their local competition but for some reason I feel as though existing members are being punished with rate hikes to compensate for their marketing team's failure to add new members. This company needs to be reminded that the best customer is the one they already have.

Tried to set appointment reception did not listen, allowed me to wait in lobby for over 30 minutes for appointment when they gave my appointment to another. Booked incorrectly. Reception walked away , to go on break while in the middle of working to provide me an appointment. Received a call I am no longer welcome and called me a bully. I am not, this kind of person what so ever. Being in salon industry for user 30 years. I know what good customer service is. TY

I absolutely love this resort so much. The representatives are kind and professional and helpful. I never wanna leave Lifetime when I go. I mostly go for a swim in the pools and jacuzzis. The gym floor is awesome and has so much for us to do. Pricey but worth it.

Folsom Life Time fitness has been very helpful to us. The facilities are fabulous and everyone is really friendly (even in COVID). There is a strong personal training staff but with significant turn-over. The current trainers have been very good and worth the significant $$. As a result, we are training in a much different way with a better understanding of everything. The missing star is due to the p/t session tracking limitations -- it's very confusing to follow how many sessions you have purchased and how they are consumed.

Nice club but very expensive and very crowded. It is very corporate so be careful to read all the fine print in your contract. Our family membership was on hold due to covid. We ultimately decided to cancel. They wait 30 days to actually cancel your membership so if your hold expires in less than 30 days from when you sign the actual cancelation paperwork than Lifetime will charge you pro-rated for the difference. That was conveniently not mentioned on the multiple calls we had with Lifetime sales people regarding membership hold versus cancellation and covid.

Great club I've been a member since they opened the location in Roseville then we moved to Folsom. They're trying hard to accommodate state regs by opening just the outside, and have equipment set out on the tennis courts under waterproof tenting. Things would be a lot more comfortable if everyone wore masks, but they are not. I guess since it's outside, however it's not open air, it is an enclosed setting so I don't know why masking is not being enforced. Not.comfortable going back until I get vaccinated!

Chose to get my family signed up this week after hearing about the swimming and children’s programs from an existing member. It needs to be mentioned that the quality of customer service is top of the line. Our trainer Christian has displayed the utmost professionalism with a terrific personality and we are absolutely sure that we’ve made a great decision only one week in to our membership. The value provided by the facilities and staff substantially outweigh the costs which are quite affordable.

I really like almost everything about this place. The locker rooms seem clean. I can’t comment on the weight room area because I use it almost exclusively for the lap pool. I haven’t had an issue getting a lane to swim in. I think there is 8 or 9 indoor lanes and 4 outdoor.

We hadn't been to yoga since February (due to Covid). But now that Lifetime offers weight training, spin and group exercise classes in their outdoor tents, we are enjoying yoga with their amazing instructors once again. They have state-of-the-art temperature readers and require mask use while indoors. I feel very safe there and am happy to be practicing yoga again!

They refused to stop charging me. I signed up for a month introductory trial membership. $1500 later, 1 year of fighting, i had to have my bank get involved. I admit I might have not understood entirely how to cancel my membership, but when you ask the front desk to cancel, you call and cancel, you call monthly to contest the charge, you change your card to avoid the charges, you get your bank involved and they issue a cease and desist for 3 months straight... you just wonder what else they consider normal business practice.
I do not recommend this gym, at least from my personal experiences with their staff. I would warn people away based on their ethics. I would never go back based on their value.
