More than just a gym. Amazing club. It’s literally my sanctuary/ 2nd home away from home. Built a routine coming to LT 5x a week. From classes, bball, swim, standard gym, they have a little bit of everything to get right. Also the spa and sauna is a must in the end. They recently brought in Kiel products to freshen up with!
The massages are also super underrated here! Shout out to therapist Bella. A must every month.
Also they keep this place super clean! I have dedicated basketball and gym shoes. I’m amazed how clean the bottom of my shoes are each time.
The only thing I don’t like is their cafe. Slow service or messing up orders. But I would forgive that if they just had a better smoothie product overall. Should just partner with a brand like Palmetto Superfoods to really put the cherry on top of the full LT experience.

I usually go to the San Clemente location, but wanted to try this one out. The parking structure is pretty close and they validate parking inside the gym. The facilities are nice with a good amount of machines available. Locker rooms are spacious and well appointed. The staff that I interacted with were super helpful, as well. Overall, this is a great gym and a good option on my way to work.

Most of The Lifetime locations I have been to are great but Irvine has disappointed on a few occasionsOne of the most frustrating things about my experience at the Irvine location was that out of the four lymphatic drainage chairs, only one was working. Two of them were completely dead—there wasn’t even a functioning outlet to plug them into—and the third showed a “plug in” message, but the plug nearby didn’t fit. The only one that worked was already in use.
I went to the front desk to let them know that three out of the four lymphatic drainage machines weren’t working. The employee said, “Okay, I’ll let someone know,” and then went right back to his conversation with another staff member. There was no sense of urgency or effort to resolve the issue while I was there.
For the price we pay for our memberships, this really shouldn’t be happening. It also felt like he was irritated that I even brought it up, which made the experience even more disappointing.

Lifetime is honestly such a clean and welcoming place! The management team is always super friendly and hands-on, and they’re quick to help with anything that comes up. The equipment is great, and the classes are always fun and full of good energy. It really feels like a community, not just a gym.

If you come to Bosscats and don’t have Kate as your bartender, you’re missing out on the full experience. She is absolutely FANTASTIC. The second you sit down, she makes you feel like you’ve been friends for years. Our drinks were never empty. She somehow manages to anticipate what you want before you even ask.
Her personality is electric: warm, fun, and genuinely engaging without ever feeling forced. Kate isn’t just serving drinks, she’s creating an atmosphere. She remembers details, checks in at the perfect times, and makes you feel like the most important person.
It’s rare to find someone who is both lightning-fast and this personable. Kate doesn’t just set the standard, she IS the standard. Bosscats is lucky to have her, and we’ll be coming back again and again just for her.
10/10 service, 10/10 vibe, and hands-down the reason our time was unforgettable. 🍸👏

I’ve been a member at Lifetime for over a year and a half, but after a recent incident and the way management handled it, I no longer feel safe or respected in this gym.
While using a leg press machine, a male member tried to take over my space despite me saying I wasn’t finished. When I stood my ground, instead of moving on, he chose to harass me. He berated me repeatedly, argued with everything I said, and ultimately exploded — screaming at me and calling me demeaning names in front of others. It was aggressive, humiliating, and frightening.
I immediately reported the situation to management, expecting a premium gym like Lifetime to take member safety seriously. Instead, their only response was to place a note on his account that if it happened again, his membership might be revoked. He was never asked to leave, never held accountable, and I was left feeling like my safety was secondary to keeping his business.
When Elvis Daniele, Membership Concierge Manager refused to handle the situation with competence or integrity the issue was escalated to the General Manager, Devin Sunil Samtani, he assured me he understood, committed to revisiting the case, and promised to call me back with a resolution. That call never came. Two weeks passed, and my own follow-up messages have now been ignored completely. The lack of follow-through is not only unprofessional but makes it clear that management hoped the issue would simply disappear.
For the price members pay, this level of disregard is unacceptable. Lifetime talks about valuing member wellbeing, but their actions show otherwise. As a female patron who was harassed and screamed at, I deserved more than empty promises and inaction. I sincerely hope corporate leadership investigates, because this location has failed to protect its members.

Review of Life Time Spa – Nina, Charisse, Emily, and Renee
I had the pleasure of receiving services today at Life Time Spa, and I cannot speak highly enough of the exceptional team—Nina, Charisse, Emily, and Renee. From the moment I arrived, I was met with warmth, professionalism, and a level of care that went far beyond expectation.
Each of these women brought their own artistry and precision to the experience. The hair and makeup services were executed with remarkable attention to detail, and the results were not only beautiful but deeply aligned with my personal style and energy. Their ability to listen, interpret, and enhance my vision was truly impressive.
What stood out most, however, was the customer service. I felt seen, heard, and genuinely valued—not just as a client, but as a person. The environment was clean, calm, and energetically supportive, and the team worked in harmony to create a seamless, empowering experience.
This wasn’t just a beauty appointment—it was a moment of restoration and affirmation. I walked away feeling radiant, respected, and ready to step into the next chapter with clarity and confidence.
Highly recommended for anyone seeking not only quality services, but a team that honors your presence and elevates your experience.

I walked into the Life Time bathroom expecting a premium gym experience. You know, clean counters, maybe even that fake eucalyptus scent. Instead, I was greeted by what looked like the aftermath of a yeti’s haircut stuffed into the sink. And the smell? Imagine if a wet dog and a trash can had a baby, and then raised it in a locker room. That’s the aroma package Life Time provides — free of charge.
At first, I thought maybe this was some kind of new spa treatment: “Detox your lungs with authentic wildlife odors.” But no, this wasn’t wellness. This was wilderness. Honestly, I half-expected National Geographic to send a film crew: “Here we see the bathroom ecosystem thriving, as hairballs dominate their natural territory.”
And the best part? They call this place “luxury.” Luxury for who — raccoons? At this point, Life Time should rebrand: Welcome to Life Time — your monthly membership includes access to weights, cardio, and a bathroom safari you’ll never forget.

This is more than just a gym it has so much more to offer! The classes are amazing and incredibly diverse, and both the coaches and the facility itself are top-notch. The space is clean, modern, and very spacious, which makes every workout comfortable and enjoyable.
I recently had a dynamic stretch session with Cedric Johnson, and I was extremely impressed. He was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to address all of my questions and needs. I left the session feeling better, looser, and more informed about how to care for my body.

It’s an okay gym, but I didn’t see the value at $340 a month. It’s super busy at peak times and there often seems to be children running around the lobby. Kinda takes away from the luxurious experience. Also, the parking situation isn’t great as you have to remember to bring your ticket in each time for validation. And last time I was there, there was a small bend in my ticket and had to fumble with the machine for several minutes to get it to accept it. There’s also no way to call parking security from the gate, so good luck if you get stuck.

I'd like to bring attention to a concern I noticed during my workout today. The lighting throughout the gym -- including the workout areas, restrooms, and other facilities -- is extremely bright, to the point where it's causing unintentional exposure issues.
For example, I saw a female guest wearing a white shirt and bra, and due to the harsh lighting, her nipples were visibly outlined. This level of visibility through clothing is uncomfortable and inappropriate, especially in a shared fitness environment.
I strongly encourage Lifetime to reevaluate the intensity and positioning of the lights to create a more respectful and comfortable atmosphere for all members, especially women.
For $300+/month, the locker room, bathrooms, showers and sauna could benefit from more regular maintenance to ensure cleanliness and a better experience for all members.

The gym facilities are good, but the childcare operation at Lifetime Irvine is deeply flawed.
Unlike the Laguna Niguel location, where staff are engaged and the environment is set up for kids to thrive, Irvine consistently feels understaffed, unstructured, and reactive. Our child has never had behavioral issues at Laguna — only at Irvine, where toddlers are often left unstimulated or grouped with older kids without proper oversight. There are unattended kids crying in there often, or they are straight-up neglected during multi-hour time-outs when behavioral issues result from lack of structured attention from staff. Show me any evidence-based program that suggests that punitive neglect is acceptable.
Bottom line: If you’re a parent, avoid this location for the protection of your children and go to Laguna Niguel — they actually care for the kids there. I really hope Irvine can improve and this is a great, much needed program, right now it just has a lot of room for improvement like age-appropriate separation, more staffing and engagement.

I liked this place before because it has much of options for different classes and spa rooms, until one day I received an email saying that they may remove me from their membership because I don’t have same last name with my husband! They ask me to bring some proofs to them. Who says that woman has to give up their own last name to follow her husband’s?!
I understand that they wanted to clear some memberships that are not qualified, but the law never asked a women to change their last name to their husbands to consider as a family, why would the life time company think that this is the “only” reason to doubt if a woman’s marriage!

What really sealed the deal for me and made me switch from Equinox (literally across the street!) was the leadership and culture that General Manager Devin has created here. My husband and I go here at least 3 times a week. It takes me 20 mins to get there and another 10 minutes for parking & walking into the gym. Its a huge stretch apart. On 🌧 days, it makes me want to stay home!
We spend at least 2-3 hrs per visit. I toggle from swimming to sauna, to joining every class I have time to try. My favorite classes so far are the pilates and roll & recovery 🙌
Service has been nice. Facilties are clean. I haven't had a bad experience every since going here for 2 months now. I just hate when a class is at full capacity. Then it feels too close next your neighbor & MUST be mindful about not hitting them with my dumbells at a full stretch. Also, I wish they have a cold plunge area here 🙏 That would bring it to 5 🌟 in terms of meeting all of my needs.

I'm so disappointed in the customer service/sales team. I joined a waitlist and received a voicemail saying they were ready to sign me up. I called back and was only able to leave a vm. It took several days for them to contact me back and I missed the call again. Finally a sales rep text me saying she would help sign me up. I immediately text back excited to sign up. A week went by and I never heard back again. I quit trying and will just have to join another gym. If you want people to join, or even to provide basic level customer service the response time and communication should be better.

Parents with toddlers please beware of the Kids Academy inside the Life Time Gym! #Child Endangerment
My husband convinced me to join the gym membership along with both of my toddlers (4 years 2months old and 2 years old) that $300 for 1 adult +$100 for spouse +$75 per kids. EVERYTHING was perfect for the family.
Until the recent incident on 10/14 at 6:40pm. We got the call from the Kids Academy staff regarding my son's aggressive behavior involving a 6 years old kid! The whole story was 2 boys around 6 years old was chasing around in the common room with young toddlers age (1-4 years old). The staff did not stop the kids from chasing around. They watched. My son saw and got excited and of course he joined the chase. Then the staff decided to call my son's name and tell him no, like that ever worked with a 3-4 years old toddler who doesn't know any better! Yes the chase escalated into an incident as one of the kid slip on paper and fell, my son imitate the kid and fell on purpose onto the kid thinking it's a play and it's fun! Yes the staff watched and get involved right away when the incident happened and they describe my son 's behavior as aggressive. Seriously, you as an "experienced" care giver of young kids should had known not to allow the chase in the first place, young toddlers is only going to imitate and not know any better.
WOW ANY EXPERIENCED ADULT would know not to allow kids 6years old to run around that fast with young toddlers 1-4 were in the same room. Good thing the kid didn't fell or trip on any young toddlers in the room.
My kids been going to Preschool for 2 years and he had no aggressive behavior under proper supervision. Yet when he goes to Kids Academy at Lifetime, aggressive behavior here and there
And yes today 10/15 we went to speak with the Kids Academy manger Elizabeth, who refused to take any responsibility for her staff's incapability to manage kids and toddler in the room, stressing that they are "experienced".
So easily blaming the fault onto a toddler when the adult was incapable or maybe not even qualify to look after both kids and young toddlers at the same time.
So by the way they can suspend the kids from the academy, penalizing the kids, not just a day or two. 3 Days first, then 7 DAYS!!! LOLLLLLLLLL
WOW She stressed she's only penalizing my son. YAY!!! So I'm paying $550 for the whole family a month. My son can't go, I can't go, my daughter can't go! WHAT A SCAM!!!
Yes!! I canceled my membership today. Im a nobody so the Kids Academy manager didn’t care, but it’s okay, there’s ppl who will care about child endangerment seriously and investigate! 🙂

Lifetime: If you're looking for a place to master the art of speed and precision, look no further than Lifetime Fitness. The three-hour parking limit means you'll learn to fit in an entire "wellness routine" like a pro. First, there's the 10-minute walk (one way) from the parking lot to the gym, followed by another 10 minutes (one way) to change clothes and take in the vastness of the place. Then comes a swift 90-minute workout—no slacking allowed—before rushing through 30 minutes to squeeze in the sauna, hot tub, swim, and steam room. After that, it’s another 30 minutes for a quick shower, plus 30 more to dry long hair (because, of course, men decided that three hours should be enough—like they usually do) and somehow manage a skincare routine... all within 3 hours.
In short, the luxury wellness is really just a glorified sprint against the clock.

TL;DR: if you want to workout, go to Equinox down the street. If you have kids, just get a babysitter and go to any other gym besides this one. Only get a membership if you're looking for a sugar baby or an overly expensive way to find someone to hook up with.
These good reviews are from people who don't know better. I used to go to Equinox, along with a few other nice gyms and the quality for this same price range was so wildly different.
This gym is so overcrowded that you better go during the week during non peak times or be prepared to fight for equipment.
They have great machines and passably decent classes, but again you have to pretty much going during the day during the week to take advantage of any of it. And compared to Equinox or other gyms (luxury or not), the quantity and selection of classes is just sad.
They have dedicated a lot of square footage to useless offices, sitting areas, and other dead space that could be used for equipment people actually want to use. Instead, they just have a few small areas where everyone is packed together and there's barely room to walk between the equipment.
While they have a great variety of machines, they just have one per type, other than cardio. So no matter what you have planned to workout, you will be waiting a long time for a machine or you'll have to adapt your workout to what's available. There's one standard leg press, that you may get to use about once a week if you get lucky. Even 24 hour fitness has more than one leg press.
Customer service, as other people have mentioned, is also at an all time low. They have so many people working sales and front desk that they treat you like you walked into a used car lot even if you already have a membership. I have never been treated this way at a luxury gym. With so many people working, you would think the service would be spectacular. But, they're too busy flirting with each other and the customers, to even care about you. There's also a cafe where usually 2 people are working and it takes 30-45 minutes to get something simple like a shake and that's after they've ignored you for 10 minutes before finally taking your order.
The kids academy is the main draw for parents, but the staff here are not trained at all to deal with children, let alone the very young infants they sometimes watch. The kids basically run around until the staff calls to interrupt your workout to have you pick them up for no reason. Once this happened to me and there was another kid literally trying to mount and ride on my son, who was just trying to crawl away from him. The staff that works in the academy do not interact with the children or supervise them, because they are constantly busy checking kids in and out due to how overcrowded and oversold this gym is. There are a lot of empty promises in what they say they offer. I have never seen them use the "art room" or anything other than the small entry area and the small gym type room in the back. The rest of the rooms are purely for show when you tour, so beware. They do not do any classes for kids if they are under 3.
The pool is average, steam and sauna rooms are tiny closets as others have mentioned. There's actually a huge window inside the gym that faces the pool and they have cardio equipment right in front of it, but facing the opposite way like a prison.
Canceled my membership on the spot today because of how bad the quality is and even though it's a month to month gym, there is a 30 day mandatory notice before you can quit, so they can squeeze a little bit more money out of you when you realize how much of a scam it is.
Also... if you've ever seen any other Lifetime location, you will really begin to see what a waste of space this location is. All of the other locations have a lot more amenities that this one is missing. Most of them even have rock climbing walls and they're less than half the price. This one is just so sad.

We explain that we spend $500 a month on membership for a family. They were highly disrespectful to my wife. I encourage anyone that’s reading this message. Please take your business Somewhere else. This lifetime is absolutely the worst lifetime I have ever been to in my entire life and I have been to over 10 locations. I wish there was a -5 stars rating, but there isn’t.

Customer service is just terrible nowadays. When buying a smoothie no eye contact was given. Not even an acknowledgement. They just want your money. Got a $15 smoothie and normally they give you the extra because the little cup they give you is a joke. But they give you the extra so it’s not that bad. I see the girl who displayed poor customer service make two cups. I asked if the other one was mine and she said you only get one. Hands down I’m so disappointed. Might as well go to Equinox

These guys food and beverage department is in shambles. They are breaking multiple code and health violations because there leadership has no culinary or food and beverage knowledge. The culture there is broken from management up. Visitors to the Lakeshore complex can visit and buy from LifeCafe inside Lifetime Fitness. You just need to leave your phone number, email, and show your ID to the friendly girl at the front desk.
LifeCafe has smoothies/shakes, coffee, food, and off-the-shelf snacks, drinks, and other items. They also have a large dining room.

Great clean club with awesome equipment. The classes so far are just awesome with great instructors like Amanda, Kristin, Ari, Isaiah and Carmen. Also the staff (Celena, Elvis), the entire cafe crew, and personal trainers (shane and darby) are so helpful and professional. The beach club swim area staff are always smiling and helpful with outdoor food and drinks - a very good vibe). So far so good. And just 2 blocks from where I live. Also love the fact that I can use all other Life time clubs (e.g. Las Vegas 2 locations). And no need to pay $300 to $500 for Wework co-working space anymore since the cafeteria area here is perfect as a co-working office to get things done. This club and Club Studio are 2 of the best in OC...

I was surprised the rating for this location isn’t above 4stars so I read through some of the low reviews and found them very odd.
I was a previous Equinox member and those that said they went back to Equinox, I can’t fathom why. The Newport gym is SO SMALL and few classes and the Irvine one is so dated and old also have to walk from a structure from both of those places 🙄.
But my selling point was how family friendly Lifetime is for my kids and I can bring my 14 year old to workout with me and she can learn to be comfortable in a gym. Also I can go to ANY lifetime when I travel for no extra fees. Love this. Membership is month to month. No long term contract. I use the Laguna location often as well.
1- when I toured the gym last summer the woman who toured me was no pressure and a wealth of info. I was in a bit of sticker shock over the membership price for me but adding on my kids and how family friendly it is was a no-brainer by the end of the tour. I was not required to do a hour long orientation that someone mentioned. The people who tour never pressured me and said I can sign up online if I am ready. They were very hospitable. Front desk has always said hello and goodbye as I come and go.
2- the place is clean. No equipment is broken from my experience. It definitely has peak hours and those that mention it’s empty (who tf wants the gym too packed?!?) are delusional.
3- I’ve gotten a massage in the spa and it was excellent. From check in to exiting everyone was professional.
4- parking. Yes you walk from a structure. This is probably the only lifetime that doesn’t own their own building and its own structure. That’s beyond their control. Get over it. It’s a gym, walk without complaint. Geezus. Three hour parking validation, weekends open. After the three hours you would need to leave and repark.
5- I hear the basketball court is being converted to more equipment space. I’m stoked on this! There are still two half courts for basketball in the side rooms. This is probably the smallest lifetime but again, they have maximized for a pre-existing building.
6- pool area at Irvine is nice, swimming pool is smaller than Laguna but they worked with what they had. Music on Saturday and the side cafe open.
7- my only complaint is they could level up their food. Simple adjustments to their cafe offerings could increase food sales. I’m looking at you very sad basic avocado toast.

I went there to check it out and the guy giving me a tour was talking about the hair salon forever so I asked him if we can skip this part and he had nothing but attitude after that. A guy working in SALES at a gym is going to give me attitude? 😂 What a joke. Management needs to retrain these people. I signed up at ANOTHER gym right away.

So guys, firstly, we love this gym. However before this recent occurrence, I would’ve given Lifetime-Irvine five stars but that’s now controversial…I’m very curious to know how many committed paying members here have had to show their birth certificates & marriage certificates because it honestly feels like an odd request for such personal info from a personnel, would love to know if this is kosher and it’s 100% Lifetime protocol? Also out of transparency I wasn’t sure whether or not to post a pic of their email request but it’s definitely debatable. BTW, We may cover this topic in our upcoming podcast…in the meantime we’ll see how this pans out!🤞🏼

We enjoyed the facilities. We come as a family and only use the pool and the steam sauna and everything met expectations. We came from out of town just visiting for the day.
There’s no indoor pool but the outdoor pool is heated to 85 degrees. We came around 4:30pm and it was fairly unoccupied and the weather was about 75 degrees in mid April.
The steam sauna is extremely small. There are only three small benches and only two of the benches accommodate possibly lying down with your legs bent.

This is the #1 Life Time Fitness club in the USA Let me count the ways, but if you are a Lifetime Fitness member visiting the area, make sure to set aside time to check out this gem. (Not gym, LT Lakeshore Irvine is much more than merely a gym)
Granted, the latest version of each piece of equipment that Life Time utilizes throughout the nation at each location helps. But the high vibrational frequency is both inspiring and welcoming in a world trending toward disassociation. It's undeniable that we are a product of the energy with which we largely associate and it's refreshing to become part of a community committed to being the change they wish to see. If alignment is missing in your life, Life Time @ Lakeshore Irvine is your finest option to dictate your health while the option still remains. And if it unfortunately doesn't, recovery to the fullest extent possible begins with the NFL level capabilities of this team of total wellness leaders.
Reward yourself while you are at it by enjoying a cocktail at the outdoor pool bar. Rebooting is key. Good luck.
One visit and you'll concur. Make it happen, Captain. Chop chop.....and good luck.

Today was my first and last day at Life Time fitness in Irvine. I took a chance and made the switch from Equinox because I had such a positive experience on my tour with my girlfriend. Upon walking in today, I was told by front desk manager Elvis that I needed to sign up for an onboard orientation. I told him I was not interested and he told me that it was mandatory. I told him that I was not interested in doing an hour, long sales pitch with a personal trainer that I knew I would never be using. This is a very predatory practice of lifetime fitness Masquerade under the guise of wanting us to better understand our goals. I told Elvis that this was a dealbreaker for me, and he was willing to let my family and I walk. I had brought in a guest who was also planning on signing up. We will all be switching back to Equinox. I suppose lifetime is not a place that values their customers. And I refuse to be forced to do any kind of sales pitch if I’m spending multiple hundreds of dollars for the membership.

What a waste of money. The Life Time Spa and Salon is a joke as well. The whole entire club is empty all hours of the day and night and the excuse that it "just opened" is getting old. It's supposed to be this amazing luxury experience but in reality it is a giant basketball court with all the workout equipment crammed into the corners. 90% of the staff have quit. The so-called spa has no stylists, no barbers and is also completely empty. The girls at the front desk are jerks and the manager, Jessica, yells at and berates the Salon/Spa Staff in front of customers. Don't waste your money on this place, especially not the Salon/Spa.

Well, after 88 visits and on my last visit, I thought it was a good idea for the final objective review on Lifetime as I have decided to put this gym on sabbatical. Truth is that Lifetime is a luxury corporate gym and as a luxury corporate gym that offers an undeniably premium facility and that is always clean, and you are always greeted by a friendly front desk staff. The Life Cafe is excellent, and the menu is solid and offers a range of healthy and great options. The Cafe is well designed, super clean with ample seating. The Life Spa is something that I have not tried yet and have no plan for it either.
One of the nice features of Lifetime is offering a wide array of group fitness classes and the classes that range from not so good to very good. All instructors are friendly except for one or two. I have taken many GTX & Alpha Conditioning classes, two functional strength classes, a handful of barbell strength classes, a handful of Shred classes, a handful of cycle classes and a handful of yoga classes. All group classes are highly structured here and the instructors do not typically deviate or modify what comes up from the corporate or from the desk of the fitness director which makes these classes somehow monotonous after a while.
So, let's start with the very good ones which are the Alpha Conditioning and GTX Classes. The So~So are the Shred Classes and Barbell Strength classes. The cycle classes are a huge miss for me and that is why there are only maybe a few riders at each class (at least the one that I have taken). Lifetime has different styles of yoga classes and in my opinion, Lifetime's yoga is sort of like cycle classes but not as bad as cycle. To each their own, the ownership might feel different about their yoga philosophy but then again, I have taken enough yoga classes at different yoga studios to know what I am talking about. However, I might say that Wei's yoga classes are excellent. My opinion and solely my opinion, but I will say that if you want to do Yoga, just stick to your local yoga studio. And as to private training, my advice is to go to a small box gym for 1/2 or 1/3 the price and more individualized training. The pricing that I have been quoted by various trainers is almost 65% higher than the best trainers on which I have ever spent. While most group classes are free as it should be except for Pilate, expect to pay 50%-70% more for any private trainer at Lifetime and Pilate is a part of private training or paid classes.
The Recovery: Non-Existent! Recovery has become a revenue stream for gyms & whether you are a member of a big gym, or a small gym and Lifetime is no different. But whoever approved of the steam room and sauna was not thinking clearly because their men's sauna and steam room is a joke. The sauna is a size of five people, and the steam room is even smaller. I even wonder why Lifetime even bothered making or remodeling that section of the gym! And forget Cryotherapy or cold plunges- it does not exist.
Final verdict: Objectively speaking, Lifetime is a big clean corporate gym with courteous staff & instructors, but I guarantee that you will not be WOW by the workout if you have been around or a gym junkie. Something about this location amazes me: Previous gym operators came in this location with a big bang (24-Hour Fitness & one other gym prior 24-Hour fitness) but both gyms went out with big whimpers; let us hope the trend is not contagious.

Probably the worst gym in Irvine. You will feel ripped off if you join this particular location. It's not your typical Life Time Fitness. You will have a Lifetime of regret joining this gym.
My expectations for this gym were high when I joined back in April 2023, but unfortunately, it consistently fell short, prompting me to return to Equinox which is far superior to this location.
The membership fee was exorbitant for the service and facility provided, the restrooms and showers were consistently unclean, and the absence of hot water was a recurring problem. Additionally, the gym suffered frequent HVAC malfunctions, subjecting gymgoers to uncomfortable conditions, whether it be a lack of AC during summer or no heat in colder temperatures.
Feedback from employees hinted at a very toxic work environment reflecting very poor management and an unprofessional General Manager named Davin Samtani who by far is the worst person I've ever communicated with. Parking was a continual issue, aggravated by limited validation time, and a long walk to the parking structure.
This gym offers services and a facility akin to a 24-Hour Fitness but with a monthly fee that is 5-6 times higher and notably inferior service compared to what you'd receive at 24-Hour Fitness.

I’ll break this review up into two parts and will try to be brief.
If you are from out of town and are familiar with Life Time or just looking for a high-end gym that will have everything you need and more. This is your jam. It may even turn out to be the nicest gym you’ve ever seen.
If you are a Life Time member in OC here’s some insight into the differences between the three clubs.
Irvine Pros:
Newest
Nicest Lockerroom (very similar to RSC)
Individual sauna, steam, and spa in each male and female locker room (Laguna still has the only mixed sauna experience in the fishbowl)
Very quiet and not crowded any time of the day.
You also have the Lifecafé, three other restaurants (Il Fornaio, Ten Sushi, Bosscat kitchen) plus a gigantic open-air space With a gigantic TV, fire pits, and lots of seating at your disposal.
Irvine Cons:
As clearly stated in many of these reviews, parking can be a legitimate nightmare. Besides being a good football field away from the entrance, the whole ticketing and validation system can be painful. Full disclosure... if you come at the right time and want to throw a few dollars at the situation, valet parking right out front is also available.
The pool is a mixed-used space... no
Adults-only area, so kids everywhere similar to San Clemente. Laguna has the only dedicated pool situation that kids/parents and adults without kids will enjoy. Nothing special at the pool though just a simple rectangle lap pool with 1000 chairs spread around Las Vegas pool style. Because there is no play features water slide or lifeguard, etc. I have rarely seen more than five people in there at one time.
One basketball court in the middle of the whole floor, a lot of wasted space, the weight area seems way too cramped, a smaller spin room and everything else is the same as the others. Honestly, there’s nothing special or superior about this location besides it being the newest.
San Clemente reminds me of a nice mega Vegas resort workout facility. Nice room for yoga but a tight weight/ machine area inside. They do offer an incredible outdoor fitness area with an ocean view. Nothing like that at Laguna or Irvine.
Tennis and pickleball rule at San Clemente, although parking can be as frustrating as Irvine depending upon timing… meaning come during peak hours, and good luck with their too-small parking lot.
To conclude, Laguna still has the best overall experience. Even though it is starting to show some age, they offer the best facility from a layout perspective... the best parking, the best kids club, the better pool by a long way, the best classes, instructors, and employees, etc.

I like the gym. Both my significant other and I are founding members and go nearly 7 days a week. We use the weight training area and take GTX classes.
Here’s the good and the not so good:
We work from home and lead healthy lifestyles. We have 2 kids that are in school with busy after school activities. The main reason we like this gym is because it isn’t as crowded as 24 Hour Fitness, and it’s new and clean.
Since I do work from home, I was excited to logon in their lounge area, but because validation is only 3 hours, after a workout, there isn’t anytime to get any work done. I wish they would increase the validation to 4+ hours.
I was excited to take yoga, but they only happen in the morning and in the evening. I wish they had yoga and other classes during the day as well.
I’m surprised the weight area is not bigger. It feels very tight on the floor during busy times. I would suggest removing half the cardio machines downstairs, and expanding the dumbbells and benches into that spot. (This gym has an insane amount of treadmills. I don’t understand 😂). I’d love to see another leg press added, as well as a sissy squat machine.
At signup pre-open, I was told that to add both my kids, it would be $100 a month. Since my kids are busy, I planned to add them for one summer month. When it came time to add my kids, I was told the prices nearly doubled! Money aside, it caused me to lose trust because their word was not honored. I felt disappointed, and I would feel bad recommending LifeTime to others because of this.
Throughout the year, we would like to attend as a family from time to time, but there is no option for that, as we would have to pay for the full membership prices, which seems wasteful. I wish LifeTime would consider a membership for parents with school age kids, where they could check-in once a month. (The guest passes do not allow this.)
Last of the not-so-goods, the LifeCafe food is weirdly not so good. Even with it being convenient, prices aside, it’s mediocre. With Trough, Krisp, Mother’s etc. nearby, it’s easy to get a delicious quick bite. It’s a missed opportunity.
The staff has always been kind to us, so I’m happy about that!
Oh, I also had a great massage!

The profiling starts immediately I was looked up and down by the front desk like I wasn’t worthy. If you don’t look like the standard OC person you’re judged. Sad how that’s the gyms culture and all of that just for a subpar gym that makes it seem high end but in reality is the same as every other gym.

It’s the smallest lifetime I’ve been to. Pool access requires additional fees, unlike the lifetimes on the east coast. It does have an open bar if you are into that type of thing. Maybe it’s a west coast thing but no one is welcoming at all. I barely get greeted on my way in or out. Have to park in a parking structure and is complicating at times. Amenities are limited. Then again, I’m comparing this location to a few of the diamond elites I’ve gone to. Cheers.

This is by far the best late night hour gym I have been to in Orange County. Not too crowded if you come in later at night and I love that! Seems like low price gyms are overly crowded. I think with this gym you get what you pay for. Machines and squat racks are up to date and they even have a Torque MX tank which most gyms do not have. Very clean and staff very friendly. Not everyone can afford this gym so I’m not surprised by the low star reviews. The reviews with low stars are people that can’t afford this so they go to planet fitness instead or another mediocre gym. Will definitely keep coming back!

Terrible experience all around, rude employees that are unwelcoming would be the biggest issue. When parking you have to park a quarter mile away, which isn't too big of an issue but the issue is 9/10 the parking passes do not work due to getting wet, going near your phone, or being bent, so when you try to get a replacement you are lectured by a rude employee every single time, instead of just replacing the pass. If you attend the gym for over two hours the employees state that they expect you to walk all the way back to your car and leave the gym and return to get another pass instead of giving you a replacement. Steam rooms/saunas are absolutely under-maintained and disgusting, I've attended over five different lifetime locations all others are 10/10 best gym I ever been to no competition. This location specifically is a disgrace to the lifetime name and should be shut down.

Avoid at all cost. Plunged by a toxic corporate culture. This location had so much potential and I’m amazed to see how they managed to ruin it. I feel compelled to share my horrendous experience at this gym. From the moment I stepped through the doors, I was met with an overwhelming sense of discomfort and hostility from the managerial staff. This place is upside down in how they cater to you. They make you think that you pay for a high end gym experience, but really you don’t get everything you pay for. Nothing works. The woman’s restroom is constantly smelling disgusting- with claims that the steam room doesn’t work (it is adjacent to the bathroom/lockers) but there are no signs. They took a pool noodle, cut it, and taped it to the handle on the sauna because the metal handle kept burning people. For real…come on!!!!
They charge you before telling you that you can or can’t add people under your account. They have poor service, their employees treat your questions as if they are dumb- but they never give you a tour or explain where things are. They are always short staffed as well. It’s odd.
I went to a couple classes, and they were all over the place. People left in the middle of them twice. I felt so bad after talking to numerous people, because a lot of older people did not feel as though this gym kept them in mind. There isn’t the proper equipment or classes, and everything is up flights of stairs. And the basketball quart takes up most of the gym. It’s upstairs. But above that is the smallest area for weights (the gym really is just for basketball lol). There is no pool- who knows when it will open. The list goes on.
Beware.

Nice looking gym aesthetically . But, the plans is not right. The way they have everything set up is not congruent with much harmony, and the pilate instructor Preston is very unprofessional and very rude & obnoxious & pushy.
It's very clear that they're not in it to help you, except how to make more money out of extra classes with extra fees. The parking is a disaster and shared with several other restaurants & businesses & it only offers 2 hrs free parking.
The pool isn't open yet paying the full price. No indoor poo, either.
The cafe food is very bland & too much space is given to the cafe & the bar area. With all the nice places to eat nearby, why would anybody come here to eat. Perhaps good for kids.
The basketball area is way too big & there was no need for a 2nd basketball court. Why couldn't you do a pickle ball or racquetball instead.
The manager, Brad, who came from Nordstrom, is a bad match & doesn't have proper training despite the fact he's been there several months already. He keeps asking other personnel for directions. The front desk ppl wear suites & and dresses, which is not appropriate for a health club. For the money, it's not worth it. There's no social stuff planned yet or in the works. Clubs in LA offer all of that plus.

Wasting a lot of your time from the parking structure to the entrance. Also, you need to waste your time inside again because of the bad layout. this location is not as good as other Lifetime locations.

This is 3 stars at best for a few reasons. The price at around $200-300 per month is no joke. I pay around $24 per month at Chuze Fitness where included in the price I get free massage bed and free tanning booth which are not available here. Also at Chuze Fitness you can bring in guests for free every Friday,Saturday and Sunday. Here you get 2 free guest passes where if I am not mistaken can only come once every 60 days. One pays 10-12 times more here with a 10-12 times worse guest feature. Mind you paying 10 to 12 more you would figure you would get 10-12 times more the facilities and features but you don’t. With all that space they could have easily had one little room with a few stand up tanning booths and those water massage beds but they didn’t. I live in Irvine and in my community we have free tennis courts, basketball court and pool (all of which are nice). When people go to the gym they are looking for special fitness equipment that they don’t have at home. I didn’t see premium fitness equipment here like I have seen used in Asia. One of the worst things is to walk into a gym and see like a 100 treadmill running machines and like 2 special bench press sets which are always occupied. Those that want to run can run outside in the park or in their community. Others can buy a treadmill running machine and throw one in their garage. What people want is special workout equipment which they don’t have at home. Not 200-300 barbell sets which many people have at home. Parking there is not so user friendly either. This is more of a very nice hang out center for the rich people who don’t mind spending $200-300 per month on monthly fees to workout at a nice looking and clean place. It’s big, nice and clean but some of their equipment are the cheaper ones found at LA Fitness. It is though probably the best looking fitness center in Irvine if you care about looks, cleanest gym, and biggest in size if these are the three that matter to you.

Life Time Irvine is fantastic! The layout is ideal, the facility is top notch, the service is great, and simply, every angle was well thought of. I've been a member of many of the other excellent gyms in the area and Life Time comes out on top.
Also, my vote for best Life Time in OC is definitely Irvine. Great gym/club!

As a fitness enthusiast and experienced gym-goer, I can confidently say that Lifetime Fitness is one of the best gym chains I have ever encountered. When you walk into this facility, you are greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that instantly makes you feel comfortable and motivated to work out.
The equipment at Lifetime Fitness is top-notch, with a wide variety of machines and free weights available to suit every fitness level and goal. The gym is always clean and well-maintained, and the staff members are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to help.
Another significant aspect of Lifetime Fitness is its spa and relaxation facilities, which include saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs. After a challenging workout, there's nothing better than relaxing in the spa area and rejuvenating your body.
Overall, I would highly recommend Lifetime Fitness to anyone looking for a positive and welcoming fitness environment. The facilities are top-notch, the staff is knowledgeable and supportive, and the range of classes and programs is unmatched. If you want to take your fitness journey to the next level, Lifetime Fitness is the place to be.

I loved the locker room, however, the gym floor set up is SUCH a let down. Super cramped, poor utilization of space. Open basketball court, sooooo obnoxious. Personal training area is far too big, it's clear this gym is focused on making money from it's members rather than providing the best gym floor environment. The lifecafe is also aesthetically pleasing but don't have their macros listed on any of their menu items or togo items. As a whole, it's not worth the money. Also, parking is charged after 3 hours and you have to share the parking garage with Bosscat restaurant and Il Fornaio which is cramped and chaotic. The studios for classes and tiny and cramped as well. Just so not impressed... real let down, other Lifetime locations are WAY better. This building they took over used to be a 24hr fitness and they really should've taken more time to change the orientation of the setup because it's cramped and spacing wise utilized sooooo poorly. Big disappointment. Will be going to other locations instead of this one.
