I really love the community here. This is a place that is friendly to go for a work out. I've had good luck with helpful and friendly trainers. Its different than other gyms. I've found that it isn't very busy. You can get in and do your workout pretty easily. Great equipment and very nice space to work out.

Love love love this place. Every single trainer is so helpful. I have tried almost every program in Santa Barbara to lose weight and have never had results like Madfitness. So happy to be back here. Aly is an amazing trainer, so is Marianne, Geneve gives a killer workout, Tim was so informative about eating healthy and working out.
I will never leave this place again!!!
Nice to be able to see Olly again!!

Mad Fitness is the only gym I found in SB with a Reverse Hyperextension machine. If you have lower back pain caused by a desk job and/or cycling, this machine provides spinal decompression while building lower back muscle. See Tim Hoyt for informed guidance and expertise. Also Marianneβs postural seminars have greatly reduced my back pain while standing, sitting and cycling. They truly care about helping people.

Every member of the MadFit team has made me feel welcome since day 1. No matter your skill level or athletic ability, you will feel included and not left behind. My first group class at MadFitness, it had been years since I had consistently done intense training. In the first few minutes, I struggled and began to get dizzy/blacked vision after the warm up. First I was embarrassed, but as soon as I went up to tell the instructor, Aly, she was completely accommodating and I knew I made the right choice in saying something. She took a minute to walk me over to a chair and suggested an alternative workout, she even came over to check in with me again before the class period was over. Just weeks later, I was crushing those same workouts 5x a week that I couldnβt even make it through the warm-ups of on my first day. Even though the gym isnβt huge or the most glamorous in town, you will be pushed, your name will be remembered, and all the trainers and employees will make this place feel like a second home. It is a friendly environment that I continue to look forward to coming back to for every single workout. I appreciate the efforts of each trainer+instructor to provide a holistic approach to fitness, covering all bases from warm-up to recovery.

Small but has everything you could need and more. The staff and community here are better than any gym iβve ever been to. I didnβt even take part in any of the group classes or work with any of the trainers but still felt the positivity and welcoming attitude.

So much more chill than other gyms. Friendly staff. It's never super busy. There is none of the toxic gym-bro attitude here.
I expect women would feel much more comfortable here than a noted corporate gym chain down the road.
On the down side, the equipment is just okay. If you are adaptable, there is still plenty to work with here to get a good workout in.
Bonus: Gym dog! Super sweet black lab mascot.

Awful gym, awful management. Many better and more affordable places in SB. Do not recommend.

Great, clean looking gym and incredibly friendly staff. The spin instructor for the Vegas Spin was awesome, but the execution of the spin class needed work.
I sat at the back of the room and was paying attention to everyone's posture and position on the bikes. I've been to 100+ spin classes and can guarantee not one person in my view was seated correctly.
Instructors should be paying more attention to the way you're seated on the bikes -- leg reach, arm reach, making sure you're not bouncing in the saddle, etc. 50+ minutes seated incorrectly and bobbing up/down/left/right can cause some serious damage to your spine!
This type of spin class has the potential to be great, but more emphasis needs to be placed on safety, positioning, and waaayyy less yelling. Also - don't sit anywhere near the speakers in the back unless you plan on losing hearing in one of your ears.
