Malakas Training is a personalized fitness training gym located in the Costa Mesa. Our trainers take your fitness goals seriously. We understand that losing weight and gaining muscle can be challenging, and our goal is to help you overcome hurdles and reach your goals. We analyze your body type, BMI, and metabolism, to create your individualized nutrition plan. From there, our trainers will work with you to design a specific workout program and work with you closely in our private gym setting to reach your fitness goals. Personal training is an investment in yourself and we at Malakas Training are invested in you!

The team here is very knowledgeable and were able to address issues with low back pain and some bracing issues I had. Addressed some core and hip, glute, hamstring weaknesses as well. The culling and scraping techniques they did helped alleviate pain and tightness as well! The actual facility is also clean and appealing too.

I had a consultation and bodywork session done a few weeks ago and it was an awesome experience!
The facility is super clean and organized, not to mention very well laid out.
Dale is very friendly, informative, and professional. I appreciate him taking the time to get to know every bit of my history to make sure I was a good candidate for this. I get massages, cupping and scrapings pretty regularly, but I have had a very chronic history of tightness in my neck, shoulders, and upper back that has become so severe to the point of headaches, dizziness and pain. In one session, Dale was able to get out the majority of knots and tightness and greatly improve my mobility. It legit felt like magic. I've always struggled with being able to do something as simple as lift my arms over my head, and just like that, he had me being able to reach even past my head. It was a bit more pain than I'm used to, but in a good way and it was well worth it knowing the end result. My headaches and nausea has also greatly subsided (thank God). I highly recommend Dale if your train wreck of a body needs some help ;)

Found Dale on YouTube. I've had shoulder issues for 3 years now. I was scared to see a chiropractor since I knew it was more a muscle issue. We made an appt as soon as possible. Since I saw some of his videos. So I knew it was going to be somewhat painful. But it's totally worth it! For my first visit, I'm so happy that he was able to help me gain mobilty in my arm/shoulders again. I'm not 100 percent since it was only my first visit, but I do have more mobility than how it was before. I would highly recommend his services. I only wish I knew about him sooner. He's a great guy, easy to talk to, and comfortable to be around.. Will definitely be back to fix the rest of my body. I left a photo to show how much mobility he was able to give me just for my first visit.

I've been working with Dale for over a year and he is by far the most knowledgable person I've worked with when it comes to body work. His technique, attention to detail, and his expertise speaks for itself. He gets to the bottom of injuries and muscle imbalances and always follows up with you to see how you're feeling after your session. 10/10 would recommend to anyone who is working through an injury or needs a tune-up! I’ve been coming to Dale for the last couple years now ever since I started bodybuilding. He’s hands down the best guy when it comes to bodywork, he’s got all the knowledge to be able to keep you from injuries but also have full range of motion again. Even if you don’t do bodybuilding he’s great when it comes to recovery whether it’s from a previous injury or just someone who’s got a kink in their neck from sitting at a desk all day.

Had my first session on Monday. Have been enduring shoulder and neck pain for the last year. Initially explained where pain was being felt on a daily basis. Dale immediately was able to target what areas of the body were causing the pain and corrected it in one session. Gave me back my range of motion and released all the tension in one hour. I asked when I should schedule another appointment and he told me technically I didn’t need to because what he does should help permanently. Very refreshing getting honesty rather than trying to suck you into purchasing multiple appointments. Really appreciate the knowledge of Dale and the work he puts in.

Took a pretty nasty spill skiing a few weeks back and couldn't turn my head to the right (made driving tough lol). Went and got cupping/blading done and I felt brand new! I was afraid that getting "scraped" would hurt like a mother, but it actually felt insanely nice. I would definitely recommend trying Dale out!

In May 2021 I decided to work on the pain in my lower back (L5-S1) and Sciatica. I have gone through physical therapy and constant stretching for about 2 years now. Nothing seems to help or make the pain go away 100%. The sciatica was getting so bad that I was afraid to bend over or move groceries. I reconnected with Dale and after a year of being with him he has taught me how to strengthen my core, back, glutes, and overall health.
The Cupping and bodywork he did for me was a huge help to my recovery process. The continuous training and coaching from Dale has changed my life. Now I am able to do my day to day movements, work, and doing a simple task like bending over to put on my shoes. If it wasn’t for him I would honestly never be back in the gym again or even move properly.
Dale made me feel so healthy that I even did my first Body Building competition in 2022! Kept me healthy and smiling the whole time. The coaching he provided, positive energy, and constant attention to detail is exactly that separates him from other trainers.
I can’t express how much love I have for him and his work. The constant body work he has done for me and the attention he puts on helping me is immeasurable. Thank you Dale for always taking good care of your clients. I highly recommend Malakas Training! It is hard to find a trainer that helps with personal growth, Strength, AND proper recovery in/out of the gym.

I did a 12 week program with Dale. 1 week into the program, as we wrapped up the very first check in, he said “*We* had a really good week.” The ownership and investment he made right off the bat after having been complete strangers a few weeks before let me know all I needed. Dale has a depth of knowledge that extends beyond the exercises. He takes a wholistic approach and dials in nutrition and digestion, rest and recovery, and of course strength and conditioning. Expect thorough check ins to address what’s working well and what needs adjusting. Every issue that came up, Dale was able to modify the plan accordingly and was spot on with each tweak. I appreciated that he also had an explanation for the changes and what’s happening. He communicates well and follows through. In my opinion, the sincerity and genuine interest in the progress of his clients are what sets Dale apart from someone that just tells you what lifts to perform. He is intentional with his process and is always available to share proper technique and form to maximize results and minimize potential injury. He will not hesitate to pull back on intensity as needed, but that is never at the expense of pushing towards potential. After 12 weeks, I have met the goals we initially discussed and the results mirror the original expectation. I look forward to re engaging in the next phase. With commitment, transparency, and accountability, Dale will put you on the path to reach your goals.

Coming to Malakas is like coming home; you’re always greeted with a warm smile. The trainers and gym members are all friendly and motivating. A sense of camaraderie and friendship radiates from this gym. Most gyms are always off putting; and intimidating but at Malakas you’re one of the family. You can ask questions; explanations and no one judges you or makes you feel uncomfortable. Many times there is professional body builders and athletes in the space and they share their knowledge; joke around with you and truly are there to simply help. Building this sort of Enviornment and culture does not come easy, and the staff at Malakas truly work hard at keeping this culture alive.

After working out consistently for over 15 years without ever putting any emphasis on recovery, I decided it was time to put some focus towards protecting my body instead of just beating it up.
I stumbled across Malakas Training while scrolling through IG and instantly knew it was exactly what I was seeking. With Dale being a personal trainer along with having a background in competitive bodybuilding, I knew he'd have no problem comprehending my issues.
On the day of my appointment, I explained the issues I was having to Dale and he immediately knew how to go about it. He worked on the areas utilizing blading, cupping, and massaging. The process what slightly painful but was also very relaxing. When we were finished, Dale gave me a hands-on training tutorial on exercises I was struggling with.
I trained a day after my treatment and felt like a new man. My body felt rejuvenated and was virtually free of the nagging aches & pains I had just a few days prior. The contractions were so good that my Pump was unreal. I seriously felt like I was 23 again (34 now).
If you take lifting seriously and want the most out of your body/training, I highly suggest seeing Dale for Body Work!

It took me four years, and I finally got the results I was looking for! Became 80% malakas thanks to the training sessions from dale! All the malakesmeni there are the best! It all started when i was 13.My dad was.driving outside this place and i was blown away by the big signature saying''MALAKAS TRAINING''.That was it..from this moment i knew i wanna go and train hard my malakia to this place.
After 2 yeara then as i was 15 years old i went there and oh my god..amazin'!
It took me 12 years and an infinite amount of grind to get where i am today.Well i don't wanna flex or anything but i became the master malakas!Yeap that's right..i even.have a medallion next to my bed just to remind me how big of a malakas i am.
Tldr: Amazing place but if you want to become the ultimate malakas it's gonna take a lot of time but man i promise it's worth it!

I’ve been training with Dale for about 2 yrs now and Ive never felt as strong as I am today. He pushes my more than I thought possible and believes in me when I doubt my possibilities. My whole objective was to workout and feel better starting from the inside knowing that being on track my physique will follow, which is another plus. He has created a plan of eating clean foods that with dedication has improved my energy, mood and clarity mentally. Because we all know it starts in the gut. Even though I have my vacation moments and get off track he has made it easy to get back on the right path. He is so flexible and easy to work with and continually cares about what your striving to achieve and works with you to help achieve your goal. His passion in the fitness world comes through with his training and also continued education and certifications he receives to pass on to us.
I look forward to coming to MAlakas on my training not only to train but for the positive feels and encouraging environment.

If you’re looking for amazing results and a trainer who actually cares not just about how you look but your overall health and well-being, Dale is the coach you’re looking for. I met Dale almost 2 years ago and basically told him I wanted to look like him lol. His accolades already speak for themselves as he is a competitor in physique competitions, but his training method goes way beyond aesthetics. My goal was to be sub 10% body fat and when I met him I was probably around 18 or 19. Within 6 months, with proper direction for my training and nutrition, I had accomplish that goal! More importantly, Dale had noticed a lot of imbalances and work needed on my mobility. Never in my years of lifting had I cared or had anyone point out these weaknesses but he made them apparent to me and every day we worked on that on top of the regular bodybuilding splits. I basically had to forget everything I thought I knew about training and start from scratch and being in my 30s that was not easy to get rid of bad habits, but with Dale’s guidance , I’ve made drastic improvements in my overall health as well as my physique.
With the gains I made, Obviously I followed him when he opened up his own gym. Out of all the gyms I’ve been to there’s been no comparison. Clean, all the equipment for lifting and cardio I need, spacious, well ventilated and cooled (definitely important for SoCal summers!), and amazing people here!
Like with any serious transformation you’ll need to hold yourself accountable and whatever you put into it you’ll get outbofnitbut set your goals high and Dale will get you to where you need to be.

If you're looking for an honest place that will help you reach real results then Malakas Training is the place to be.
I highly recommend visiting Dale. He's the type of coach that pushes you to lift more and more but also teaches how to not injure yourself. If you prefer a flexible diet, he has a teaching method that accommodates that. If a meal plan is preferred, then he's got your back with weekly updates. He is well-educated in health and his gym has got great equipment. He has other trainers that are fantastic and even have the option for you to get some body work in such as cupping and yoga on weekends.
I started lifting with Dale when I graduated college 4 years ago with a scrawny body and saw big gains within that year. I took a 2 year gap in between to focus on graduate school and tried to lift by myself in a commercial gym but nothing could compare the size I put on in that short time I spent with Dale. After I proposed to my Fiancee, I knew had to go back to Dale to get my wedding body ready and I haven't regretted it.
When it comes to lifting, Dale makes a Difference
