I’ve been working out with James since April ‘23. Both my husband and I work out with him 3 times a week and we both agree it’s the best investment we’ve made to do strength training. James will follow your lead on your personal goals. He is SO dependable, the most upbeat and positive person we are fortunate to have in our life. Huge James fans!

I reached out to James to help build strength to rehab an injury 2 months before a planned 6-day trail running stage race (transrockies run).
James came well-prepared to every session, put together an effective game-plan and kept tuning it as I progressed, kindly adjusting to my schedule and adapting exercises based on what else was happening in my life at the time (e.g. travels).
Ultimately, I was able to not only go on this running adventure but beat my previous year's time by a lot, and importantly felt good and had a lot of fun.

James is an amazing personal trainer. From the beginning I knew it was a good match since he did an intake form and zoomed in on my goals even before we hit the mat running. 2 years in I’m so grateful for James - my body feels great, I’m seeing my muscles and posture change, my flexibility and strength have improved significantly. We do two sessions a week and I look forward to those two days in the week because after our sessions I’m energized and proud of what we’ve accomplished.
And top of the James is a lovely, kind, wise, funny and reliable person. I appreciate him in my life and having him be part of my weekly routine.

After some correspondence, we scheduled an intake session. Since then, James has been exceptional in his training. James has a wonderful, sincere, warm presence. He is very welcome in my home, as he is always pleasant and respectful. He conducts himself very professionally; he is consistently punctual when we meet. He works hard to understand my body, needs, and goals, so he can curate and design workouts that are challenging but fun and achievable. He is very open and responsive to my feedback, adapting to whatever comes up for me in the moment. Best part? He listens really well and asks great questions. Beyond feeling great after a workout with him, he leaves a lasting positive impression. You'll find yourself smiling often during and after the workout. It has been such an absolute pleasure training with James over the past several months!!
I’m a woman who’s recently struggled with hormonal issues, & feared I lacked the ability to meaningfully exercise/ build muscle/lose fat. I needed a trainer who would emphasize with where I was coming from, know when to push me & when to modify.
James is very knowledgeable, empathetic & attuned quickly to my individual needs. I am so happy with my results, I am not a gym person or a lover of fitness. This is new to me.
He’s also very kind & funny- time seriously flys by while he’s here, which is wild considering I’m working out. He balances warmth & professionalism beautifully, & the convenance of him coming to my house is just the cherry. I don’t normally write reviews, but if you’re reading this & have a home gym in the Marin area, consider giving James a shot!

James is a great personal trainer. Nobody quite motivates and simultaneously teaches quite like him. It’s a big plus that he comes to your home as it can be challenging to get ready and drive somewhere to work out.

My daily grind had pushed me to live a very sedentary lifestyle. I spent far more time sitting than standing. I did not want to feel the physical pain of wasting away anymore. However, I was lacking the confidence and motivation to reach any sort of lifestyle goal. I stumbled upon James through a friend and he has been an absolute lifesaver. Never once did I feel any judgment or shame in my new physical journey. I have never been a gym person, so the benefit of his mobile personal training eased my anxiety.
