I can't recommend Rock more highly. He's ridiculously knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology and I have high confidence that he's not going to lead me into potentially unsafe places. Rock meets me where I am and offers challenges with genuine care. His gym is clean and private, and one of the only truly welcoming gym environments I've ever experienced.

I’ve been going to Rock for structural integration sessions related to chronic neck pain. After the very first session I saw unbelievable results. My right shoulder which was drooping from years of bad posture was realigned and my neck feels much better. Rock has an in depth understanding of the human body and a great sense of humor. I highly recommend Mavericks Fitness if you want to get in better shape.

Rock is one of a kind: an OUTSTANDING personal trainer who meets you where you are, but challenges you; a damn fine comedian; a coach; an expert in fitness, nutrition, the human body, and has many well-earned credentials to back it up. When I started seeing him in Feb 2024 I hadn’t exercised in 2 years! He got me up to speed gently but quickly. He also pushed me to get active and moving outside of the PT routine - ie, walking. In just this short amount of time I have lost 15.5 pounds, gained muscle mass, and feel better and more energized than ever. Look no further. You have found him.

Rock is the best ! I have been seeing Rock for almost a year now and I don't plan on stopping any time soon !

All of my workouts and the advice he gives are tailored to me and my goals. I used to dread going to the gym and now I definitely don't. He does make it challenging, because that's the point, but it's not like your normal gym where they are trying to kill you to get results immediately.

Couldn't recommend him more to anyone in the area looking to get some help training.

Working with Rock has been a truly life changing experience. I first came to him because I was struggling with an injury that I sustained in my youth and had become extremely limiting. I had taken some small steps to address the issue but doing both the 12 series and regular personal training sessions has completely changed my outlook and ability. The regular scans he provided tracked my physical changes which have been very noticeable to friends and family. He helped me establish a framework for my diet and daily movement routines. And most of all, he's helped me mentally overcome my fear of achieving my own goals. After having my fitness fall off a cliff during the pandemic, I started with Rock about three months ago. I was looking for an instructor who was focused on functional movement for longevity and not shame or vanity-based. I got lucky stumbling upon Rock as this is exactly his philosophy. Even with the limited number of training sessions I’ve had, I’ve seen extremely quick improvements in muscle mass and overall fitness. His approach has very quickly gotten me back to practicing healthier habits outside of our sessions. My experience with Rock has been an amazing transformation for me. He really takes the time to make your workouts challenging but not exhausting. I have worked out in various ways over the years and this has been the most comprehensive style of workout yet. Rock has more certifications than anyone I have met and knows the body from skeleton out. I started with Rock ages ago, had a few sessions and then life got in the way and I dropped off. I've been back at it for the past year and it's been great. Rock both challenges me and meets me where I'm at. I've made it a priority to show up, and listen; Rock is excellent at creating a workout that's both effective, challenging and not overwhelming - my goals are not aggressive, but I want long term health and mobility. I've made great improvements along the way and as a side effect - I'm happier with how I look, even if that wasn't the goal. I feel better, and that's the key. His feedback and catching me in my shortcuts and bad habits has made all the difference. Subtle changes in position create a much more effective workout, and Rock is on it and helps me see and catch myself. The equipment and cleanliness are excellent and Rock is constantly attending educational classes. He is a great instructor and motivational individual. Working with Rock has been life changing. When I first got started with him, I felt like many forms of strength training were never going to be on the table for me due to current and old injuries etc. Rock's knowledge and passion for training have helped me massively improve core strength and continue to lean out. Maverick's Fitness VO2 max assessment let me figure out what heart rate I can aim to burn the most amount of fat with and what my resting metabolic rate is, which leads me to better nutrition planning. I now do targeted heart rate training both in and outside of the gym. Working with Rock, I keep making lifestyle changes that move me forward each day. On days where Rock is not available, Max is usually free to train and he's been excellent to work with too. I highly recommend working with Maverick's Fitness if you're looking for committed personal training.

I started working with Rock at Mavericks Fitness a month ago and have had an amazing experience!

Prior to seeing Rock, I had been dealing with a hormonal change due to birth control that made it hard for many years to regulate my body in a healthy way. During those years before meeting with Rock I would lose weight drastically and then gain it back fast. My depression and anxiety started to sky rocket. I felt like I was never going to get out of this cycle that was starting to ruin my emotional and physical health.

I have had experience going to other personal trainers hoping to find a way to stay in shape. Yet during those other experiences I felt like the trainer was all about the money rather than trying to understand my body. I would spend months and would see zero results even with their nutrition plans.

Through personal training at Mavericks Fitness, I was hoping to build a better foundational strength so I could break the cycle of repeated drastic highs and lows. Rock has completely changed my perspective on personal training. He not only makes the environment feel safe and judge free. He has taken the time to fully understand and learn my body. To help create exercises that are for my body type and that actually work!! I have only been with Rock for a month and a half and have already seen amazing results! My body feels healthy, and i'm not only losing weight, I am also getting stronger.

With other personal trainers I had experience where they would tell me what to eat and what not to eat in the nutrition plan. Rather than creating a plan that works for me realistically they would use the same plan on everyone else. That is not the case with Mavericks Fitness. Rock creates a nutrition plan according to your realistic needs for your life style but also just creates charts that give healthy suggestions.

Mavericks Fitness is the very best decision I have made to get back into shape.

My name is Matt. I am 49 years old, and I came to Mavericks Fitness in December of 2020. I had found myself becoming increasingly depressed and felt that it was due to a lack of exercise. Many years ago, I suffered a bulging disc in my lower back, which made it to where any time I would try to work out, I would find myself injured, either with a sore back, or knees, or feet. I was extremely fortunate to randomly pick Rock Hudson of Mavericks Fitness as my personal trainer. I signed up for 12 sessions with Rock, and it is the best investment of time and money I have ever made for myself. Rock knows human anatomy very well and is constantly engaged in knowing where I am at in my body and how to get me to the next step. After a month of hard work, I have never felt better in my entire adult life. Rock is always on time, and the workouts are COVID-19 safe. I strongly recommend Mavericks Fitness.

Working with Rock and his wife was such a great experience! I've always been very uncoordinated and unconfident in moving around in my body. I decided to start working out this year to improve my physical and mental health . Despite my effort, I hit roadblocks quickly because I kept injuring myself! I didn't understand what was going on because I wasn't doing anything I considered very strenuous. Rock helped me better understand how my body works, get more in touch with it, and provided a sensory education to put me on the right path for getting in shape. I'm thankful that although I didn't go to many sessions, the sessions I did go to helped me improve my at home workouts and now I feel a lot more confident that my workouts are helping me not hurting me. I also appreciated being able to work out in a private space where I felt comfortable being myself and didn't feel judged for my somewhat humorous lack of coordination at all. Rock has his own fitness journey as well so he knows how to teach someone who is really starting from scratch. It was also encouraging to me that he seems to find a lot of meaning and enjoyment in running his business and is very aware of the ethical considerations related to his profession.

Rock & Kate are excellent in assessing an individual's ability level and creating a plan to help them achieve their stated goals. More importantly, they understand that each person is unique and a "one size fits all" approach does not work, as such the training is never static or dogmatic in approach, it is constantly evolving and responding in real time to where the athlete finds themself. Lastly, unlike most trainers they are able to connect the "dots" in terms of anatomy and training; their understanding of how the body works separates them from all the trainers I have worked with over the years. They are without exception the best I have worked with. Highly recommend for those who want to live a better, healthier and more satisfying life whether you are an athlete with specific goals or not.

I began my fitness and weightloss journey with Rock and Kate in January of 2019. I had always been very active and reasonably fit in my 20's and 30's, but after years of desk work and several injuries and surgeries I found myself over 50, overweight and in horrible shape...but I didn't realize HOW out of shape until my first consultation! Cut to nine months later I have dropped over 25 pounds and feel stronger, more confident and more vital than I have in years. I have worked with trainers in the past, but never found their programs to be as comprehensive as Maverick Fitness, and the support and encouragement I got from Rock and Kate was unlike anything I've ever experienced. When I had my consultation with Rock I was over weight and run down from a demanding work schedule. Rock was able to pinpoint my problem areas and helped to build the base strength back in order to avoid reoccurring injuries. I started nutrition coaching with Rock in January of 2018. It was something I was curious about, but wasn't really sure what to expect. Rock walked me through what Precision Nutrition is, the philosophy, and habit change modality. After talking with him I thought it seemed accessible and doable. Nutrition coaching sounded so different then anything else I've ever tried when it came to dieting.

I decided I need to see what it was all about. After 6 months of doing the program, I can't fully express how much shifts when you start making small changes. I feel more empowered to make decision about my nutrition instead of mindless eating. I also feel like this is something I can continue to improve on and see it as a lifestyle, not just a one and done diet. It's a slow process, which feels more sustainable. I'm someone who wants quick results, and can get discouraged, Rock reminds me that even the small wins are valuable. Most importantly, these daily check in's and habit changes are positively impacting other areas of my life. Who knew saying yes, to something like nutrition coaching could affect all areas of my life? Well, Rock did but he let's you figure that out for yourself. And that is the best part, Rock is here to support me in my growth, and not lecture at me what I "should" be doing. Its a true learning experience and something I'm looking forward to seeing how the next 6 months change my perspective and health.

Personal trainers are hard for me. All my life I have been very athletic and enjoyed physical activity. Then a few years ago, I had an injury put an end to all that. Now, after multiple surgeries to correct the issue trying to return to my former activity level has been hard. I have tried several different trainers over the course of my rehab but have never really had someone understand the limitations a hip injury causes to your body or the mental hurtles that go with going from very active to barley able to walk correctly. After sitting down with Kate the first time and listening to her story of injury and rehab, I figured I would give her a try. She has so far been one of the best trainers I have worked with for post-rehab training in the area. She has understood the pace we need to take to ensure that I gain strength in my leg prior to pushing forward but has understood the mental blocks I have when we are not progressing fast enough. She has understood that sometimes the smallest of victories like being able to lift my leg over the bike without using my hands, is something that needs to be celebrated. If you are looking for someone to help you overcome mobility issues or recover from a bad injury after physical therapy, Kate is the person to see. I have also lost over 20 pounds and 16 inches overall, and while I can’t yet run I will eventually!

I started training with Rock about a year ago.  I was unable to do sit ups at all and my strength was weak at best.  With 4 young children to chase around, and approaching 50 I needed to improve my flexibility, strength and stamina.  Rock has worked around my schedule to come to my house when I didn’t have childcare, and the kids adored him.  When I had surgery recently, he was able to gently coach me back into a full routine.  At different times during my recovery, I used my body in a way where I compensated from the surgery and both Rock and Kate were able to expertly pinpoint which muscles needed work and rolling out or stretching.  Now, recovered from surgery and a year after working out with Rock, I am stronger than I’ve ever been and just completed 20 full unassisted squats.  I highly recommend Rock as a trainer who can motivate and nudge you into a better you with an arsenal of information, exercises, tools, equipment, jokes, and general great personality!

I first met rock in April 2016, when a friend invited me to join one of his group classes. I have a long history of going gung-ho on working out, only to injure myself, get discouraged, and quit. I expressed my fears to Rock and he encouraged me to go at a slower, steady pace. In the past 7 months we have significantly built up my core strength, increased my flexibility ten fold, and have established many healthy habits.

I haven't been perfect with my food and have gone on vacation several times, but I am happy to report that I have lost 3 pounds, 4.25" in the chest, 1.5" in the upper arm, 7" in the waist, 3" in the thigh, 2" in the calf, and 1" in the hips. I have some big goals for the new year and will be focusing more on weight loss in the upcoming months, but for now I am ecstatic about my results. I am happier, healthier, and more in control that I've ever been in my life. I wouldn't be where I am today without Rock's unwavering support.
