My 9 year old son and I have been training at Maxwell's for the past 2 years, and we couldn't have been happier with the training, the instructors and the atmosphere. And its a real gym- there are real boxers, who compete in real fights, that train at this gym! You can get great exercise and real cardio, while actually really learning to box.

We have both been learning a lot, and have really enjoyed the people and the classes. We started doing real sparring about 6 months ago, and its awesome. Getting to actually box with these people starts taking you to a different level.

If you're looking for a real boxing gym for adults and for kids, I would definitely recommend Maxwells.

Great gym but getting ahold of them is impossible and they will keep charging you membership fees after cancellation if you're not careful. Called 5+ times no answer, finally went into the gym to cancel membership they told me to email them to cancel which I did, but they still continue to charge my card.

You know I was going to do a free-trial at the Top Rated boxing gyms in San Diego: Maxwell’s Boxing, Title Gym, The Boxing Club, and The Arena. I went to Maxwell’s Boxing Gym first and let me tell you this Gym is a One Stop Shop for everything you want and need as a boxer. This gym is more than a New Years Resolution, it’s the solution. I was going to the gym burning 440 cal a session, I went to one-class at Maxwell’s and burned over 1,500 cal! Lost 11lbs in 4-weeks having fun, training, and learning. If you’re looking for a boxing gym that treats you like family Day 1, cares about your personal growth as a human being, and physical growth as a boxer this is the Gym for you! I invited my neighbors, family, and friends and they all had such a great experience. From beginner boxer to pro-boxer, first time coach all the way to owner this is an environment that I’m happy to be apart of.

This isn't one of those "boxing gyms" where you just punch a punching bag with background music. This is an actual boxing gym. My teenage son has been going there for over a year. No other sports have stuck with him before until he started going to Maxwell's. The coaching staff are amazing, they are all dedicated, supportive and encouraging. My son doesn't usually talk to me much but every single time he goes there, he comes home happy, even when he gets all beat up. He can't wait to tell us what he learned that day. They have a program for younger children as well. Highly recommended!!

I was new to San Diego and this place made this foreign city feel like home. I love the hard work and dedication all the coaches put into this gym especially Coach Alvin and Sherman. I see these two every time I'm there without fail, and they train their students with so much heart and grit. They always strive to find new and innovative ways for the community to continue to grow and work out together and even offered free virtual boxing classes at the start of the pandemic!

Ever since I moved out of SD, I've struggled to find a boxing gym quite like this one and I miss every single person there so much. If you're looking for a sense of community and an excellent place to work out and learn how to box for real, this is your spot.

This is a special place. Serious but relaxed, intense but playful, and supportive for all. From just trying to lose weight and deal with stress to training for competitive fights, you can get whatever you want to get out of boxing here. Everyone is supportive, no ego issues, and no one is trying to take anyone's head off (unless that's what you want and you're ready for it -- but everyone here exhibited great self-control and care). I highly recommend Maxwell's to anyone. Quite simply, it's full of great people.

Being new to the boxing game, Maxwell's Boxing was very welcoming and easy to train/learn with. Coaches are super dope and they have classes going on every weekdays. Depending on ur schedule, they got lots of coaches to choose from. I wish I could stay here longer and learn more from all these coaches. I think I learned a little bit of boxing and experience as well. Thanks to Sherman(owner) and rest of his crew. This place is for everyone.

100%, I love this gym!

Every coach I've encountered at Maxwell's Boxing is personally invested in each of their members' well-being. For someone like myself that has had memberships at places like, 24 Hour Fitness or Chuze, this is very important. Sometimes its hard to stay on board with staying fit and being healthy, but this place makes me truly want to be at my best. Maxwell's Boxing also provides personal training, not only in boxing. If you have a fitness goal in mind, they have a coach that can help you achieve that goal. I have been working with Coach Ryan Acain for almost 3 months now on my strength training, and feel extremely good. I told him my fitness goal, and he tailored a program specifically for me. He doesn't push me to break me, he pushes me to be the healthiest I can be, and that is more than I can ask for.

Maxwell's Boxing also has a great program for kids. Having been to the gym many times, and seen the faces of the kids that are in their program, I can assure you they LOVE IT! It almost makes me wish I could takes a kids class too! LOL!!

Overall, it would definitely be a great experience to just stop in and take a class! Give it a try for sure! Thank you Maxwell's Boxing, and Coach Ryan!

Best boxing place in San Diego. Not only do you get a phenomenal workout if you want to lose weight or stay in shape but proper technique, so that you know you are doing it right. Which in turn reduces the possibility of injury. People of all levels workout at the gym so it's not intimidating for the newbie. Not to mention the price is lower than most other gyms.
