I cannot begin to describe how helpful Mike was in diagnosing and providing actionable insights into improving my golf game. He is a fantastic instructor and I cannot recommend him enough. I’ve been taking lessons from Mike for about four years. Historically my game would be considered a little above average. Whenever I find myself struggling I contact Mike for a fix. After having my second hip replacement my game went into the toilet and Mike’s careful evaluation helped cure my problems. I’m now playing better and more consistently than ever before, recording five of my last six rounds under 80. I credit Mike’s lessons for that breakthrough.

Had my lesson today with the driver being my main struggle. He immediately recognized 3 main points that made instant improvements. Being able to see everything on video and his super simple explanations made it easy for me to make the adjustments. The adjustments he made gave me extra distance in my irons, too, even though driver accuracy was the focus. Super nice guy. Highly recommend him to help your golf game 👍👍

Mike has been fantastic to work with. He listens to my assessment of what is or isn’t working in my game and then takes a look at some swings. Then he generally makes a simple suggestion that is easy to understand. He’s not a “tear your swing down” kind of teacher and instead makes small little adjustments and then allows you to build on them. Has been a great experience and I always come away swinging better and feeling more confident. Really like the follow up message with some key thoughts and video clips to review after each lesson! Because I know nothing about golf and wanted to get some pointers before I went out with friends who are active in golf, I reached out to Mike to schedule lessons. The lessons were 1 hour in length, 2x week for 1 month. Mike's professionalism and communication skills made me feel comfortable and excited for the next lesson. Mike used different techniques to address a certain skill when I was having difficulty trying to 'master' it. I saw Mike's add for golfing instruction in "Next Door" and decided to try him because I wanted to enjoy golf more by improving my game so I contacted Mike at his MB Golf Academy and talked a bit about where I started golfing and how I was doing now and what I wanted to do. We started the instruction and I found out quickly why I wasn't hitting the ball as well as I should. And it was simple. Mike showed me some warm up basics (each person is different so pick what works for you) how to approach the ball, line up your feet, grip the handle, back swing, rotate your hips, drop the club and rotate your hips again and follow through. Easy right? Do the exercises he shows you (here's two; practice swing drill and helicopter drill). He teaches you how easy it can be and how anybody can do it. He's vastly improved my swing and my enjoyment of golf. He teaches you in language and examples that you will understand and makes practice fun.
You get an email after each lesson that tells you what the lesson was and how you did so you can rehash at your convenience.
He's a nice down to earth guy and he's a friend.

I don't know if there are enough ways to say "great" in relation to Mike's Golf Academy. He is a great instructor in that he works with what you bring him and makes what you already have better. You don't need to add/subtract or upgrade anything to get results. He provides you with value and results for who you are and what you bring to the table.
He is a great coach/guide for any athlete at any level or age. Mike guided me...then our son...then our other son and soon to be our daughter. All of us are different and yet we all had the same results. A better swing, a lower score and excellent value.
Lastly he is a great guy and easy to relate to. His humility and egalitarianism put me right at ease. Mike is better than me and, likely better than you as well But you will never feel like you have to be like him to be successful. He's not there to one up you and be your roll model. He's there to be your partner on your journey to get better.

Mike is an exceptional teacher! He is very patient and clear in his instruction techniques. He uses words, props, examples and experiences to get his message across. He takes the time to understand what you are trying to get out of the process and then focuses his methodology on your personal definition of success.
