John is the most knowledgeable trainer I have EVER worked with. He didn’t just look at my fitness through workouts but he looked at my whole life, mind and body working together. He showed me that there is seasons for life where I push, pull back, and listen to my body.

Jon was not only highly educated in his field as a coach, but really was aware of my injuries and made the workouts functional around them. Not only did I lose over 10 pounds, but my chest leveled out and my confidence went up. I have worked out for the last 10 years and have meal prepped for the last 2. But I really went to Jon because I knew he would get me to the next level and provide training and accountability that made me see results. Money comes and goes, but you see yourself every day in that mirror, might as well come to love it and invest in it. Def will recommend to my other buddies.

I trained with Jon at the Self Made facility in Del Mar. I enjoyed my time working with him and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a personal trainer or nutrition coach. In terms of training, Jon was able to: 1. Program to my goals (strength and conditioning), 2. Work to my schedule, 3. Push me to the level he believed I could reach. While I was only able to train with him for a month last spring, I would definitely train with him in preparation for a competition or event (eg. Tough Mudder) in the future. Jon is a great coach!

I always felt awkward lifting in the gym and even more so posing. But, Jonathan trained me and taught me things like proper lifting form, a diversity of exercises for specific muscles, workout structures, breathing techniques, and poses! 😂
I really appreciate how encouraging he is and the fact that he hasn't built my confidence through what he thinks of me, but rather helped me with what I think of myself. It was hard even walking into the gym; but once I was in, and started training with Jonathan, I knew I belonged. You belong in the gym too, so get that journey started with Jonathan.

I’m 36 and have been “working out” most of my adult life. I knew that I was never pushing myself as hard as I needed to to get the results that I wanted, but it was easy to convince myself that just showing up was good enough. A few months ago I finally came to the realization that I’m not going to accomplish my goals in the gym without some help. I stumbled upon Jon randomly because his training gym is down the street from where I live, and I could not be happier to have found him. At our first session we talked about what results I’m hoping to see and Jon put a thorough plan together for the next several months. After just the first 2 months working out with Jon, I’ve already seen more improvements in strength and physique than I was ever able to achieve on my own. He pushes me harder than I have ever pushed myself and holds me accountable to my nutrition plan. If you’re like me and want more out of your workouts, I highly recommend training with Jon!

Before working with Jonathan I had been working out for a year on my own. I had goals, but working with Jonathan has truly elevated the way I work out. He does a great job at assessing what someone actually wants and needs for their goals and lifestyles and creates a perfectly tailored plan for you. If something isn’t working for you the way you had hoped, he will change with you. He is incredibly adaptive and supportive. He has shared so much knowledge with me about nutrition that has helped me reach my goals faster. He’s provided so many helpful tips, common misconceptions, encouragement, etc when it comes to my nutrition and overall well being.
I 10/10 recommend Jonathan as your personal trainer! He takes me and my goals as seriously as I take myself. I have seen so much overall improvement in how my body moves, how my body feels (thanks to the nutrition), and I’ve never seen myself reach so many personal bests!
