I have to admit, Method3 is a magnet for my body. I find it difficult to workout at home, but I have no problem going to a workout at Method3 whether it's with a group, semi-private or private. It's the welcoming and NOT the intimidating factor. It's the encouragement, friendliness, strengthening, and sweat each time. I feel accomplished and healthy.

I have noticed so much progress on my hip flexibility. I haven’t been able to do “criss cross applesauce” in years and now I can sit in it for quite awhile comfortably. I can easily do steps up where before Method3 I was practically unable to step up more than a few

Love this place! Method3 offers exactly what I need. The group classes are fun and the trainers are amazing. They demonstrate exercises very well, pointing out the correct form while doing so. They will correct your form during workout, if needed and always have alternate exercises if you can't work on one due to some issue. They all have a totally non-judgmental attitude and encourage you to challenge yourself. The gym offers different workout options - group classes, personal training and other monthly special series that you can join. They also have an excellent nutrition program called Thrive that I joined when I first started. It helped me immensely to work on my nutrition. Really, really glad I found this place.
Update: Absolutely love this place. They have various workout related challenges going on that keep you motivated towards better fitness, diet and mindfulness. This place is a gem!

Coach Sue is an outstanding coach and a phenomenal manager who leads with heart and precision. Over the years, I’ve had the chance to work with several incredible coaches—Sue, Stephanie, Alan, Markus, Mira, Justin, Yvonne, and Keith—each bringing their own strengths to the table.
Coach Yvonne has been a lifesaver when it comes to functional health and injury recovery. Markus and Justin are powerhouses when it comes to strength training—Markus has an energy and sense of humor that motivates you instantly, and Justin had me lifting 185 lbs this week—still can’t believe it!

If you had asked me three months ago if I could deadlift 155 lbs, I would have laughed and said, No way! But thanks to Method3, I did it!
Before joining Method3, I had been working out on my own but wasn’t seeing results. Looking back, I realize it was because I wasn’t staying consistent or following progressive overload. Method3 helped me fix both these mistakes.
The group training sessions are fun, supportive, and designed for all fitness levels. Everyone progresses at their own pace—no judgment, no pressure. Some workouts are done in pairs (pacer/mover), some individually, but no matter where you start, the focus is always on progress.
The coaches are incredible—knowledgeable, patient, and always paying attention. They don’t just demo the exercises; they walk around, correct your form, and make sure you’re doing things safely while still being challenged. They truly care! (Shoutout to Coach Mira, Yvonne, Markus, Justin, and Stephanie, whose group classes I’ve attended so far!)
I also signed up for private coaching, and it was the best decision ever. My coach (shoutout to Coach Justin!) structured my training to help me steadily build strength—going from a 65 lb deadlift in December to 155 lbs just yesterday! On low-energy days, he adjusts my workout rather than pushing too hard, which keeps me motivated and consistent.
Coach Sue’s nutrition guidance helped me build consitent eating habits, and their marathon training sessions encouraged me to sign up for the San Jose Shamrock 5K. (I hate running, so I’m speed walking instead! 😆) Thanks to their training plan, I now comfortably walk a 13-minute mile and feel ready to complete the race in under 45 minutes.
Method3’s flexible scheduling makes it easy to stay consistent—if life happens, you can reschedule without hassle or losing money. It’s clear they care about your progress, not just your payment.

The workouts are not too repetitive. No judgment of what can or can’t do. Coaches are professional, compassionate and making sure that you’ll have a great with their great sense of humor. I have always been a gym person but after having a baby, that too during the pandemic, I was finding it hard to get back on track and being consistent. After months of hard work I had reached a plateau and then ended up gaining back after falling sick.
I decided to join Method 3 in June 2023 and boy that proved to be the best decision ever!
Initially I started with the group classes and then started weekly personal training session with Justin Sweat. I have lost more than 6lbs since I started training.
Review for classes: I have taken classes by Justin, Markus and Alan. All instructors are super nice and make sure no one is struggling with bad form. Would definitely recommend coming for classes as these are geared for a full body workout. There is a mix of strength and cardio in and in the end you are breaking a good amount of sweat.
Review for Justin Sweat: Absolutely amazing! I started personal training sessions with him in July 2023..He is super friendly and gears the session based on your psychology. I do well when I am challenged to do extra and he knows the exactly the right number of reps that are challenging while not demotivating. He is always mindful of any prior injuries and keeps a check on how different moves are feeling on the the joints. In two months of training... I have been able to lift more than my body weight. He also guided me on nutrition and after following on his recommendations my urge to snack on chocolates and junk is now almost extinct.. which has helped in shedding the extra pounds.

I recently joined Method3 to commit myself to improving my strength and fitness. I dread the gym “scene” and the ironclad contracts that are often a challenge to cancel. Method3 has surpassed my expectations and has gotten me excited about getting in better shape. First and foremost, it is such a welcoming, non-judgmental environment! The classes are small and everyone knows each other by name. Fellow partners have been so friendly and helpful. You immediately feel the sense of community. I joined about 2 months ago, after a friend had touted the benefits of Method 3 for years. I find the classes to be supportive, and I am able to modify most of the exercises to work around my knee injury and current fitness level (or lack thereof). I have already seen improvements in my physical abilities, and have made a few workout acquaintances who I exchange pleasantries with. The coaches are all very friendly and helpful! I started on the twice a week program and quickly upgraded to the 3 times a week as I was enjoying it! Will stay here for a long time!

EDIT: I came back to edit my initial review because... I'm still here at Method3 and thankful for the continued support of the wonderful coaches. I was recently diagnosed with osteo arthritis in my knees. Some days are better than others. On the rough days, the coaches are so great about modifying the group workouts so that I can still participate without the pain. I have to keep moving because, as they say, Rest is Rust, Motion is Lotion. Regular exercise is critical for managing arthritis. Thank you Method3 for all of your support!

7/3/2019 Update: Method3 isn't a gym-- it's a transformative community that has become like family. The trainers/coaches are absolutely the best (speaking as a former athlete; I've also had personal training for years prior). The staff are thoughtful, knowledgeable, attuned to the individual needs of the young and old, the fit and those focused on becoming their best selves. No upsell, drama, gimmicks or cliques here. Come as you are, you'll leave lifted in spirit and stronger than when you walked in the door. I have been a a client for over 2 years, and my husband joined me about a year later. We have both seen results, but most importantly, we have found self-care sustainable here. Show up and do your best, it's as simple as that.
8/28/2019 Update: Roughly 2.5 years after my first class: I am stronger, leaner and almost ruthlessly consistent in my workouts. I aim for 3-4 per week. Method3 has been comprehensive in impact on my overall wellness. MAJOR THANKS to Coach Rene, for scheduling a 12:30pm class 3x a week: MWF. I have seen incredible progress thanks in large part to my "power lunch breaks". Rene is very detailed oriented and focused on form, and the class size makes this class perfect for newbies who need a little extra attention. For those of us with experience, Rene's little tweaks help ensure an efficient and productive workout with strategic results. It's your time, but Method3 ensures you get the most out of it. My suggestion: eat a healthy meal at least 90min beforehand, attend class, and then head home to a healthy snack and lots of water. I hope Coach Marcus' Thursday lunch strength sessions become regular options, because the timing is perfect for me. I'd also like to thank Dee-- whose bright smile and generous spirit uplifts everyone around her! No matter what's going on or how tired I feel, I know that showing up at Method3 will be a positive experience.
Update 10/25/2024 class sizes are smaller and the class format is more efficient. I enjoy coming at 12:30pm to hang out with my friends and “reset” my day!

Absolutely love Method3 fitness! I've been a partner for over a year and am loving my results and I am continuing to reach my fitness goals. The coaches are absolutely amazing and they truly care. If you're nervous about starting your fitness journey the coaches here make you feel incredibly comfortable. There are always exercise modifications if needed and the other partners are grea, you'll make some great friends here! In addition to great classes they also offer fun activities outside of the gym that are fitness focused.
They offer morning, noon, and evening classes so there are plenty of opportunities to sign up for classes.

Method3 is a gym designed for those of us over 40! Class and personal training alike are by appointment only. Class sizes are small and workouts appear on my calendar, which makes me accountable. I love it! I was fortunate to connect with a personal trainer who was very interested in form, more so than speed and weight. Stephanie "got" me from the first group class I attended with her. I started personal training with her soon after and she has given me so many tools to work with in and outside of the gym. Method3 is a great place to workout. It's not a normal gym. The personal training, group classes, nutritional guidance, community support is amazing. You don't need to be in shape to start at Method3. The Coaches know how to train you to gain flexibility, strength and confidence. I especially enjoy Alan Yu Gettin' Loose 2 class. This class focuses on gaining flexibility, stretching and getting stronger. It's a great way to ease into full workouts. You won't go wrong with Method3. I've been working with Coaches Stephanie and Hollis for over 4 months (on functional strength training). I've been learning a lot and have a good exercise regimen going. The coaches are attentive, kind and professional. They are super helpful on whichever goals you want to pursue.
I occasionally text them about questions and they respond back with lots of suggestions and guidance. Just last week, I started having a bit of lower back stiffness on my left side due to a prolonged sitting session. I worked with Coach Stephanie for a stretching session targeting the specific muscles and within 2 sessions it was as good as gone. Stephanie also texted me the list of the exercises we did so that I could do it on my own the next time.

I love that Method3 listens to their members and works at their individual pace. They great everyone by name at each class, make notes on individual's personal body limitations, and make suggestions to everyone during the session. * it's been over 2 years now and this is the longest I have gone to a gym consistently in my adulthood. And I can't imagine not continuing ... When I started with Method 3, I was coming off a shoulder injury and I was a bit apprehensive about attending group fitness and personal training. Needless to say all the staff have been awesome and accomodating! The biggest difference for me is my wonderful trainer Mira Albert-Bullis.Her knowledge,guidance and expertise has made the biggest impact. I'm new here and recently joined using their personal trainer program. They are a smaller gym that allows them to really focus on their clientele and offer many different options, giving you a choice on the type of workout you prefer, group or personal. They also offer nutritional guidance to fully embrace a healthier lifestyle.

I have been training with Method3 since February 2023. As someone who had a negative relationship with exercise, my coaches Alan and Makayla have made me feel strong and empowered. I never thought that I would lift 100 pounds, but I am doing deadlifts and squats safely and effectively. My flexibility has also greatly improved. I could not touch my toes before and I can now. I started doing training here about a month ago. I started despite an injured shoulder and years of not working out. I was a little nervous but I’ve attended classes with a few different coaches now. They are each amazing and attentive - Keith is my favorite so far. The classes help my mobility and my strength with weights, TRX and other resistance equipment. Each coach pays attention to my limited shoulder without me asking for modification. The classes are usually 15 people and the size seems to be just right. The group is friendly but focused on their own workouts. It’s a distraction free, clean, friendly, well organized place.

I began working with Makayla after being recruited by a friend to join his private sessions, making for 2:1 lessons. It’s already been a transformative and fun journey. Coming from a background in triathlons and endurance running, it’s been beneficial to incorporate weightlifting into my routine to build functional strength and reduce the risk of injuries.

These trainers are the very best, the most committed and the most fun. They are extremely knowledgeable, supportive and genuinely caring. I have had the opportunity to work with Makayla, via personal training sessions, since the beginning of this year. She did a great job in initial discussions digging into both short term and long term goals and developing a program that is challenging as well as engaging. As a former collegiate rower and triathlete, my primary workouts had been endurance cardio. During my time at Method3, Makayla has helped me to focus on functional and core strength to a level that I had not been able to achieve since college. I came to Method3 after the peak of the pandemic. My weight was up while fitness level was down. My medical labs were also bad with respect to blood sugar and fat/cholesterol. After about 9 months of workouts and dieting, I was able to get me labs down and my fitness level back up. The workouts at Method3 are varied with respect to exercises, equipment, pacing and difficulty. I can always count on a good work out while feeling challenged and keeping interested. One really nice feature with Method3 was that they were able to supply a variety of equipment for outdoor workouts throughout my time here and have been very conscientious about maintaining safety during the pandemic. Furthermore, they offer multiple workouts a day that allow me to fit in a schedule almost any day.

In March 2020, not only did the pandemic hit but group classes stopped being offered at my fitness facility in Los Gatos. I had long depended on group classes that provided some sense of camaraderie to keep me motivated. My exercise discipline went on hiatus with the exception of ~weekly hikes I took with my wife.
In May 2021, my wife introduced me to Method3 Fitness, an option we'd been considering pre-pandemic. She'd been going 3x/week for many months. Despite the fact that she & I had both been members of the LG facility, and that she was happy and back in the rhythm at Method3, I was hesitant. I'd been out for a while and also skeptical of compromises necessitated by outdoor workouts.
When I finally gave in, I was really surprised by the quality and creativity of the outdoor workouts. My regular coaches Keith, Markus, Justin and Alan were all fantastic - energetic/fun/engaging/creative but still knowledgeable and creative. They had ample equipment (weights, bands, jump ropes, med and bosu balls etc.) and each program provided a good balance of strength and cardio. The trainers were mindful of form, personalized modifications and the facility itself had an ample, tent-shaded space set up in the parking lot. They showed great attention to hygiene (e.g., spacing, wipes, clean-up) while still creating a fun, interactive environment. I could not have been more impressed.
As we transitioned to indoor/outdoor and ultimately to indoor, I thought I'd miss the extra space provided by the outdoor workouts, but they surprised me again. Despite going indoor, not only have they supplemented the indoor work with some outdoor activities (e.g., quick outdoor jogs/laps, lunges, jump ropes) but they have equipment (e.g., TRX's, Keizer machines, ropes) that I'd forgotten were options.
As my schedule has changed, I've not been able to work with Keith and the other nearly as much but other coaches like Yvonne and Amy have kept up the fun and the standard. I'm back to 2x/week and feeling great about my progress... my wife is showing me up at 3x/week. ;-)
Before ending this post, I want to point out that (a) they offer classes throughout the day which is great for schedule flexibility, (b) their scheduling is through an app, which has never screwed up and is great for accommodating quick adjustments, (c) their pricing is very reasonable and at least competitive with similar options.

I am a new client of Method3Fitness so I wasn’t sure that my testimonial would be valuable. I did want to contribute to this wonderful idea and decided to share with you my path to your program. I did a lot of research before joining. I considered returning to 24 Hour Fitness and investigated several other gyms. I built a home gym with an elliptical, treadmill, weight bench, free weights, bands, etc. and used it all the time during the COVID period. I am a disciplined person and independent. I wasn’t looking for a “ra ra ra, you can do this!” hand-holding, ego-building atmosphere. What I wanted was educated coaching to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of my workouts. I own a business and work 50-60 hours a week. All the research I did about your company suggested that this could be a good fit. Since joining several weeks ago I have been impressed on so many levels.
The initial meeting with a personal trainer was great. He was knowledgeable, communicated well, was friendly, and I felt like I accomplished a lot in the session. My next experience was a group session. I was impressed with the extraordinary steps taken to be COVID safe. That instructor was wonderful too. The class was fast paced but every set was explained well and he gave corrective advise on form to many participants to maximize their benefit. Just like my prior experience, he was knowledgeable, organized, communicated well, and was friendly and positive. I left class wonderfully exhausted with a sense of accomplishment. The classes have a great diversity and balance of exercises and I have learned many new ones from your trainers. This is exactly what I was looking for. I know that my 45 minutes is going to be efficient and effective. It’s also enjoyable.
There is another reason I was drawn to your program. You are a privately owned company, as am I. I have immense respect and understanding of how challenging it has been to keep a business open these last two years. I'm 63 years old, recovering from a long term illness and was recently given a diagnosis of osteoporosis. I joined Method3 4 months ago to strengthen my body overall and specifically to reverse and alleviate the osteoporosis. I am SO glad I did.

The coaches at Method3 are absolutely amazing! Even with 12-15 people, they somehow manage to remember names and progress made and really target how they encourage you to push yourself safely. I've had coaches remember how heavy of weights I had progressed to and they balanced that with modifying technique so I pushed myself but not to a level of fatigue where I might injure myself. Every class is different and challenging and I love the community you can build when you show up to class. Couple that with the support you get for Thrive in 35, with a dedicated nutrition coach to help you focus your diet, Method3 has truly helped me make a lifestyle change. I have spent 23 weeks continuous private training at Method 3. Been with many coaches and they are all great. I had more experience with coach Alan Yu and he is fabulous - kind, patient, super professional and pay attention to details. I highly recommend him to anyone who comes here. I learned good work out form at Method 3. It was great experience working out there. All the staff are very nice and positive.
One suggestion I have is that this studio is more focused on functional or mobility training. I feel like if you are looking for a weightlifting or muscle building place, this may not be for you.

Tl;dr: Overall, great quality workouts that are tailored to your goals - you’ll see results.
Since this is an individually operated gym, you really do feel that the staff here get to know you, it’s not like a generic GloboGym training experience. Additionally, since you have to be with a trainer when you’re working out you don’t have to worry about finding a spot to workout, hoping your equipment is free, etc. Victoria did a great job in helping me hit my goals, I saw all my lifts go up in weight and people commented on my muscle gain. When I move back to the area, would definitely come back here!

This gym is one in a million. They have small group workouts that make working out fun and full of variety, great instructors, and a true sense of community amongst all the members. You will be welcomed for who you are and where you are in your fitness journey today with 0 judgement. There are people of all different ages, fitness levels, and experience. I've gone through a few highs and lows in my life since I've been a member and am so grateful to have this gym as a constant no-judgement zone place of support that pushes me when I need it and gives me a little slack when thats warranted too:-)
This is not the typical "gym" experience, the coaches and staff all really care about you! Check them out! You won't regret it.

I have been with Method3 since before the method. I have always gotten results, and have never been bored with workouts. Set a goal, and they will help you achieve it. They got me wedding ready, then healthy through pregnancy, and take off the baby weight. I have since moved, and miss them so much. I have yet to find anything else like Method3.

My friend and I were looking to join a gym. We decided to join Method 3. This turned out to be more than a gym. It’s a community that works with you for your success. They are very knowledgeable and can design your work out to not only get the results you want, but they work with you if you have an ache or pain. I belonged to this gym for almost 5 years. I never liked working out, but it felt different here. I moved away and have been looking for something even half as good. I cannot find anything as great as Method 3. If you are looking, check this place out. It will change your mind on gyms. The trainers are all excellent.

I've loved many things about my Method3 Fitness experience, but I'll sum it up to great atmosphere, coaching and exercise, and its response to COVID-19.
It's a really great, positive vibe. The longer you've been a partner, the more you connect with the coaches and other partners. In turn, this builds the workout community and the atmosphere of the class, making working out far more enjoyable. Also, the group and individualized instruction and variations have really adjusted and enhanced my form and endurance with different types of workouts. And lastly, Method3 has been extremely patient and adaptive to the constant and insane requirements and restrictions set by the county and state. They have pivoted from online workouts only to the magnificent outdoor structures to provide work outs for partners at various comfort level. Their attention to detail and sanitization really make working out not only safe but enjoyable.

This studio feels very personal. The instructors know everyone by name. They are welcoming, funny, and their classes motivating. The outdoor workouts are safe and effective. I love my trainers. I have been going here for 9 years and am always happy with the results. They have a variety of workouts for groups, small groups and individual session. With CIVID 19, Method3 supported us with online sessions for our friends and family to keep us all motivated. The cool part is if you don’t feel safe for in person training we all still have online options available. These are all the reasons I love Training with Method3.

I’ve been a member for five years and I’m still raving about Method3. The trainers are top notch: professional, encouraging and knowledgeable. Would you believe I’ve never done the same workout twice? I’ve enrolled in one on one, semi private and group classes. All have exceeded my expectations. The owner, John, and his staff treat their clients with respect and encouragement. I’ve brought family and friends over to Method3 and all have joined and agree that Method 3 is #1. This is the best fitness studio around. I’ve been going for almost 4 years now and I love the sense of community here. Through the pandemic, these guys were the first to pivot, not to just stay alive but to keep the fitness momentum alive for their clients. John has upped his game to cover every concern for safety and wellbeing of his clients and staff. These guys are taking it above and beyond to ensure we can keep our fitness focus and feel safe doing so! Outdoor groups, private sessions are done with the utmost care and always great enthusiasm. My husband and I went to Method 3 fitness because we wanted to make a change in our life. We were feeling heavy, low energy and unhealthy. My husband is diabetic and his sugar was not in control. Once we started our exercise and nutrition plan, we started to see a difference. In less than a month my husband medication for diabetes was less and less. In six weeks we achieve more than expected. I cannot say enough good things about Method 3 Fitness! They are phenomenal. Inclusive, welcoming, SO positive and supportive, everyone is treated equally, and all of the trainers are phenomenal- good attention to detail, form and alignment, with modifications offered so you can workout taking care of your body. The workouts are stellar. Different every day, keeps it super interesting, challenging and doable, and the workouts are crafted with the overall picture in mind. So you’ll never do the same exercise over and over. The class schedule is extensive, so you’re guaranteed to find something that will work with your schedule and they’re always looking for ways to improve.
I’ve been in group fitness for 19 years, as a yoga instructor, I have very high expectations for trainers and instructors. method 3 continues to excel and impress. I’ve been here 2+ years and still love it and rant and rave about it. I’m 47 and in the best shape of my life. I am so grateful I found method 3.

Method3 is like Cheers where everybody knows your name. The community is friendly and interactive as we encourage each other through the workouts. The coaches will break down instructions after warm up, suggesting modifications if needed. They also walk around, making sure everyone is safe and have proper form. Every so often, they'll remind us to breathe.
The workouts are different every day. There is a mixture of cardio and strength training. We do Tabata, EMOM (every minute on the minute), mover/pacer, and buddy workouts. We work with different equipment like TRX, Keiser machines, weights, BOSU balls, and battle ropes. The variety keeps me coming back. It can get crowded at times, but we break up in different stations so everyone gets their space.
The exercises got me stronger, but the Thrive in 35 program helped me drop a lot of weight. I highly recommend Thrive if you are trying to lose weight. It helps you think about portion size, making good food choices and creating a healthier habit.
I have been coming here for a few years and look forward to coming every time. Thank you to all the trainers who care and make it fun.

Trainers are energetic and pay attention to details. They know everyone and make sure to give individual feedback to each customer “family member”. There are many up to date programs to help you loose weight or gain strength either in group format or individual personal training sessions. If I can’t do a certain exercise there is always an option to modify. The place is clean and always friendly. They are also involved in the community and local business. Great place overall. I have been going to Method 3 for almost a year now. The workouts are incredibly diverse, fun, and efficient. The trainers are very motivating and inclusive. It feels like everyone has eachother's goals and best interests in mind. They know when to push and when to offer adjustments. And the facility is new, clean and fully stocked with the right equipment.
I feel stronger and in better shape now at 35-years-old and after having a baby than I have since running track in high school. I got great results with the combination of Spark workouts and the nutritional program 'Thrive in 35'. I dropped the weight I intended, but seeing the drop in inches and the increase in energy makes me feel even better.
Thank you Method3 for getting me to a place where I enjoy working out and moving my body again! Now, I feel incomplete when I don't make it to class (and if you do miss a couple weeks, they'll be sure to reach out with a note to see if you're doing okay and give some motivation to pick back up again). This place and the trainers are amazing. My entire family works out here. The classes, the pace, and the atmosphere are exactly what I need to get through my workout. Not often do I become addicted to a workout class I actually miss this class when I don't make it. The Thrive program worked wonders for my daughter. She's learning to eat appropriate portions, and understand that it's not just the weight scale it's about the whole experience of healthy eating and living. My son came home from personal training and said Dad when do I get to go again I love it!
Having worked out here now for over a year they're all different types of people with different Fitness levels and it all just works together seamlessly.

So happy I was able to try this place out. The instructors are amazing "Hi Keith!". The classes are catered to all levels but really kick your butt. If I lived here, I would be a member and take a class 5 times a week. They have plenty of class times during the day so there is no excuse not to go. The facility is extremely clean and equipment is new. Each class is different and will keep you moving different muscles throughout the hour. The music is always on point and helps distract you from the burn. I love this place and will be back every time I am in the area.
