The Best Gym! I'm not a bodybuilding competitor but everyone here is so supportive and encouraging that I don't feel out of place. It can seem intimidating seeing these jacked guys and girls stronger than me, but they're honestly the most genuine and supportive group around. Lou is awesome, and made me feel at home from the very start. Plus, the main thing...you will get results with their help if you put in the work.

Update: about 7 years later, Metroflex still continues to be a top tier gym with the best equipment I’ve seen in the world. They constantly upgrade or purchase new equipment.

Started my membership here at the ‘Flex in 2021 when I was 6’2” 150lbs, thin as rails, and quite weak, so I was pretty nervousness stepping into a solid old-school gym where many people were absolutely jacked and crazy numbers are being put up on many people’s lifts on my first visit.

On my first leg day it took about 20 minutes before I talked with a giant dude at the squat rack next to me about form and realized the absolute LETHALLY good culture this place has. The same has stood true for the last 4 years that I have called MetroFlex my home gym / mental and emotional oasis / therapy place. I cannot stress enough, the culture and community here is unmatched by any gym in north county, no matter where you are in your fitness or what your goals are.

The owners, Paul and Lou, are also some of the most approachable and conversational guys you’ll ever meet. Yes they’re both jacked beyond belief, don’t let that stop you from approaching them.

Over recent years it has seen some more modern changes with the improved lighting, repainted walls, the installation of new mirrors, and most notably a plethora of new machines to get you the most skin-splitting pumps everywhere that has a muscle fiber. But with all the changes, one thing has always remained true about the ‘Flex: this house was built on culture, community, and everyone’s personal improvement.

What made me decide to join this gym was the amount of machines!!! (Particularly the leg room... so many toys) There's probably enough toys at this gym to open at least one or two more gyms.
And it feels easier to focus when you walk in. There isn't 20 T.V.'s hanging from the ceiling or a really bright color scheme like at 24hr. (I know these are small things, but they bother me). But above all the vibe here is great! From staff to members everybody's chill, friendly and has great gym etiquette.
There's also lots of mirrors to admire your hard work and discipline. And a bunch of personal trainers to help you.

The only negative i can think of is the bathroom. There's one shower, one urinal, and two toilets. Which is fine they all work. One toilet is little slow but whatever. I can shower or use restrooms anywhere else. Some these machines like the 'Gluteator' or 'vertical press' i never seen at other gyms

I have been working out in this gym since their very beginning. I stopped coming here for a season but I’ll have to say that after coming back again I’m loving all the facility upgrades and new machines they have been adding. Congrats guys!

As a gym it’s alright, but customer service is abismal. I called multiple times, emailed once and I went in person 3 times to cancel my membership, which they track by a book, and every single time the month after id get charged. This continued on till I moved to Florida and even then I went in person one last time before leaving. This went on for a year and a half till I called my bank and told them to stop letting them withdraw any more funds from my account. Come to find out almost 6 months later these incompetent people can’t cancel my membership but can send me to collections.

My advice go to 24 hour fitness or EOS their gyms are better anyways. Specially if you are a marine.

Love this gym. I am able to practice yoga here daily in the posing room, use the stairmaster along with access to all the weights and machines. All the trainers are kind and dedicated to their personal journeys and give so much to their clients, it's beautiful to witness. Although my practice when I go to this gym is yoga I am inspired by the bodybuilders and the beautiful family vibe I feel when I practice here.

As long as I live in Oceanside, this will be my gym for life. Not only is it a raw gym that takes fitness serious but the owner, Lou,, is fantastic, a hero, a patriot,, and truly a great person. I temporarily lost my job due to the V mandate and had to stop my Jiu-jitsu and MetroFlex membership.

When Lou found out why I was stopping my membership, he wouldn't hear of it. He called me directly and told me he will continue my membership for as long as it takes me to get another job. I tried relentlessly to talk him down knowing just how hard it is to keep the mom and pop businesses afloat, especially gyms since they kept forcing them to shut down... but Lou would not hear of it. I was so touched by his generosity that I cried.

Lou and the MetroFlex gym are as real as it gets. Him and hit staff whole heartedly believe in the importance of fitness which is exactly what he said to me on the phone "now (pandemic) isn't the time to stop going to the gym and let your health go". If this great country of ours had more people like Lou, America would be in a much much better place. Because of Lou and the MetroFlex gym, I was able to stay working out when I should've been saving and counting my pennies.

Lou, I love you brother and appreciate you more than you know. I will stay with MetroFlex for as long as you'll have me. Highly recommend anyone looking for a solid gym in Oceanside to check out MetroFlex first because you will regret it if you didn't. This gym is the real deal.

The trainers here are AMAZING, I’ve been trained by Erica Knight on and off for two years and she’s become a great friend and helped me get into the best shape I’ve ever been and supporting me while I competed. It’s easy to get to, only takes minutes once you exit the freeway and it’s west of the 5 so easy to head to the beach after works outs and catch the sunset. Fair prices, flexible hours. I joined cause my gym closed for the 3rd time now due to COVID - love that the owner is taking a stance against these tyrannical lockdowns. I am in a much better place now that I can still work out, gyms are essential! I will be cancelling my other membership and staying here as long as I’m living in north county 😎

Old school style gym. Loud music and the plates banging. The only thing missing is that old milk 🥛 smell and tubs of ice, but that I can do with out. Reminds me of when we were considered freaks and now it's the norm.

This is a great place to work out. All these reviewers upset about Covid-19 probably don't workout and most assuredly have never been to this gym. I've known the owner for 15 years and they are taking all the necessary precautions. There is NO EVIDENCE Covid-19 is transmitted via sweat anyway. All the gyms in Georgia are open (and Korea for that matter) and there are no issues to speak of.
If you have an issue with the cost or quality of the facilities that's fine, but posting a poor review just to vent about Covid-19 is childish. I'm not Conservative and certainly not a Trump fan, but unless the gov't is going to pay their bills while they remain closed I don't expect companies to just go bankrupt while we wait for a cure. We have to learn to live WITH Covid-19 until then.

Ignore the false 1 star reviews people have left that are angry Metroflex is open. They are not members. I am a member and need the gym for not only physical needs but also mental health. The owners are extremely kind people, always there and available. In the off chance there is an issue with equipment it is quickly remedied. Which is saying A LOT as I used to work for 24 hour corporate where it would take months to fix just 1 thing, if you were in a good location, if not, good luck wirh it ever being fixed. In regards to cleanliness this is also the cleanest gym I have stepped foot in. The workout floor, and especially locker rooms where I have 0 issues showering etc. It has a great atmosphere,
people, and energy This is the best gym in Southern California.

This gym is great! Everyone who works out there is very respectful of what they use, and makes sure to wipe down once finished. Owner of gym; Lou, is on top of social distancing. He has everything set up in compliance to the 6 foot rule, and will diligently watch to make sure things are staying in place/being wiped down. He monitors the doors to make sure they do not reach their limited capacity.

Very happy with my membership, and I will recommend this gym to people who want to support local business and stray far far away from the big box gym lifestyle.

Arguably the best gym/atmosphere in SoCal. The owner and employees work hard to stay in compliance with all the health orders to allow us to be able to workout and take care of our mental and physical health. Sad that i had to move away from this gym, but if youre in the area and looking for a gym, this is the best one

Went by this gym during Covid-19 and seen people going in and out with no mask. When it’s not to be open if the owner cared about the community they should NOT BE OPEN. The governor of California said all gyms to be closed.

This gym is a sanctuary! Members of ALL fitness levels. The owner is so humble and welcoming. All the Staff and Trainers are top notch. Everyone minds their own business!! Which is why I love this gym. My get away stress reliever. Lost over 50 lbs here last year! Now With a “minor” set back, SO HAPPY to be back and CONTINUE the gains! Even in this pandemic they are doing a fantastic job on regulating and cleanliness. THANK YOU METROFLEX!! I send all my people here.
