I am a personal trainer here in Los Angeles, based in Hollywood. I have been working with clients since 2002 and started out working with male and female bodybuilding competitors. I work with alot of injury rehab for broken necks, broken backs, shoulder reconstructive surgery, hip and knee replacements. I work with a lot of busy business professionals to the doctors and nurses to the entertainment industry. As well as the pregnant and post natal mothers ready to get back into shape again.
In addition to training i also work with my clients on their nutrition as that is a huge part of everyones progress. I assign cardio to clients to do on the off times OR we do endurance training sessions which are always alot of fun, at least for me.

As a former college basketball player, that has focused on fitness his entire life, I can say beyond a shadow a doubt Mike is the best trainer I've ever worked with. His attention to detail, the nuances of form, catering workouts to body types and not predetermined routines; is second to none. He is the perfect trainer for all levels, the newbie trying to lose weight or the bodybuilder trying to compete and everywhere in between. You'd be foolish not to hire him and take your fitness to the next level.

I’ve been training with mike for a little over 8 years now.
He is a great personal trainer and offers you training to the goals you’d like to Achieve. He knows exactly what exercises you should do and shows you the perfect form on them each time and motivates you to push yourself further each time.
He also offers his clients costume meal plans that are specific to you and your goals.
Over the years that I’ve trained with him, not only he was my personal trainer inside the gym, but also a friend, someone I could reach out to vent my problems or ask for solutions.
It wouldn’t matter if it was the week day or weekend, he was always there for me and would listen to me when I needed help.
I’m forever great full to have found someone as genuine as mike both as an amazing personal trainer and and a friend.
With his help, I’ve managed to lose 87lbs and I’m in best shape of my life.

I have tried working with other trainers and sadly a lot of them don't know what they are talking about! Despite me being located in Chicago and Mike being out in Hollywood, he had the tools to make long-distance training work smoothly.
Mike was just a dream to work with. I started working with Mike after I had shoulder surgery and was the heaviest I had ever been. A little over a year later I got married and walked down the aisle looking and feeling amazing. It was work, but Mike was there with me every step of the way. He was quick to respond and was always very thoughtful and thorough with my questions as well as able to modify my diet and workout when needed.
Mike was my biggest cheerleader every step of the way and is now a friend. Mike helped me find myself again and I came out a better stronger person for it. However, the most important gift that Mike gave me was the skills to keep my health and fitness up for the rest of my life.
There are not many like Mike out there and working with him was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

Its strange to find someone in Hollywood who actually is as good as they appear to be. Mike is that man. He’s kind, thoughtful, considerate, knowledgeable, and hard-working. This is a guy who will show up to meet you at the gym at 4am because it matters to him that you meet your fitness goals. His services are worth every single penny, and then some. I know Michael Burns for a very long time. First of all, Mike is a terrific guy; always in good mood and always emanating positive energy which is a must for a personal trainer. I always find Mike invigorating, and there's never a dull moment working out with him. Also, he is the most knowledgeable trainer I have ever met. But his background in medical field is what sets him apart from other trainers; he keeps his clients safe and free of potential injuries by quickly adjusting to their personal needs.

Mike is definitely a guy that cares about you not just professionally but personally as well! He goes above and beyond to help you attain the results you desire. His knowledge regarding bodybuilding, nutrition and mechanics is exceptional to say the least. Mike will teach you to how train yourself and explain the process to further help you understand why that exercise is beneficiary. From the minute I started training he set me up with a nutrition plan to best suit my needs. He ALWAYS made sure that I got all my workouts in and NO workout ever felt forced. MIKE IS THE MAN! Went to him years ago and got in the best shape of my life over just one month. Have gone back 3-4 times since over the years when I need a good kick to get back to it. Mike is The Honest Trainer in a world of swindlers and know-it-alls. His knowledge and experience is more than comforting if you want to know why or how a certain exercise or nutrition plan works. My fitness plan is genuinely custom crafted for me and it evolves as I do. If you’re reading these reviews to figure out what sets Mike apart from other trainers (aside from experience and seemingly endless knowledge about YOUR goals and how to get YOU to reach them) look no further than when he took personal interest in my health concerns and used his own spare time to help me find a medical plan and a doctor. This is but one example of his kindness and patience. Needless to say, Mike’s Body Sculpting is what Personal Training is supposed to be across the board. Do yourself a favor and see for yourself.

Mike is genuinely a warm kind human being. He actually makes an effort to focus on your form which is really great because most personal trainers don’t. Every hour that I train with him he pushes me to the last minute of the hour, and pushing me far beyond my personal limit.
He takes time understanding what your goals are and and will work hard with you to get to this goal.

I hired personal trainers in the past and they didn’t know how to work with injuries, they will be in the phone and same routine most of the time.
With Mike he works on the foundation First, and I been seen result on my weight, I also got tone, and a better posture!
He never Canceled, never show up late, he is there 5 minutes before my session time!

I was really scared to go back to training after a serious back injury and back surgery. Mike was recommended to me by another trainer as “someone who is great with injuries,” so I thought I would give him a try. I started off with a lot of apprehension, but Mike is so knowledgeable and careful with me that my fears were soon set aside. I have made more progress with Mike than any other trainer I have had. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone and absolutely you should go to him if you have had any sort of injury and need someone who really pays attention to you and your form. Can’t say enough good things about Mike. He’s incredibly knowledgeable, professional and super experienced. Very patient and knows how to tailor his work outs for every client’s varying needs. I have neck, back and hip issues and he’s very good about modifying my exercises and knowing when I should be playing it safe. Whatever your goals, this is the guy to help you reach them. Mike is honestly one of the best trainers I have ever met. He is not only very knowledgable about everything and anything tha has to do with traning and nutrition but he also cares about his clients. If you commit to traning with him he will give you 1000% of his time and he expects you to do the same. Every client I have ever seen him train have gotten results. When I started traning with him I had zero expectations and didnt think that I would accomplish what I wanted to. Well sure enough fast forward 8 weeks I had never looked or felt better. He pushed me to limits that i had never though that I could reach. I was so proud of myself and happy with the way I looked!
I am very grateful to Mike and so happy that I have him as my trainer. He motivates me to be the best person that I can be and to physically always look my best. Because when I look good I feel good!

I've been working out with Mike now for three years. I found him on Yelp. We've grown to become great friends. He pushes me and always demands my best effort. He lifts me up when I'm down and does his best to keep me on track. His style is great because he's very careful to any types of physical conditions one might have. I have a very sensitive lower back and knees and we've done a great job of working around them to build them up. You won't find a better personal trainer than Mike. Having played semi-professional football I thought I was in pretty decent shape and had a good grasp of training techniques.
Enter Mike Burns. His extensive trainng knowledge is unmatched and probably only surpassed by his ability apply his knowledge in a practical training sense.
Need to lose weight - He's got it. Want to add lean mass-get ready to get to grow. Just starting out and not sure where to begin-dont stress Mike will get you going.
Or even if you've got an extensive training history (along with injuries to match) Mikes got that extra 5% to get you to that training goal!
On top of all of this he's the most courteous and personable guy you could ever want to meet!
He's a champion!
