I was thinking about working out again, but at my age I have old injuries to worry about, as well as not causing any new ones. I also realized that I may be more likely to start then stop if I don't learn the right way of working out for my health situation and goals. So, I thought to find the right trainer. I had a trainer for a few months years ago, but that focused on putting me through various exercises, which may not be a good idea given some injuries and pains I was experiencing. Erik is different in that he first performs a physical evaluation to see where you have pain, range of motion, balance, etc., and tailors the workout to heal or improve. For example, he discovered that ,when I stand, close to 60% of my weight is on one foot, not evenly distributed to both feet, and put me through some exercises to improve this. He also re-evaluates me to verify if problems are improving or not, if there are new issues, etc. I've been going for a few months and my original pain is fading, and I can tell I am getting stronger. I'm glad I didn't just go to a local gym or health club and risk injury or getting discouraged.

Erick is great to work with. His extensive knowledge of Kinesiology, Human Kinetics, Human Movement Science, Exercise Science and Applied Kinesiology is unmatched. Make no mistake about it, he is more than a trainer. Erick is awesome! He is super trustworthy and has such a calm energy, which made me feel comfortable immediately. I never feel like he is being pushy and we are moving at a pace that I am comfortable with - challenging, progressive, not too hard or too easy! The level of care, attention, and customization I’ve received with Erick at Mindful Motion has been top notch. Erick is clearly an extremely knowledgeable and meticulous practitioner who looks at the full picture of body mechanics to create a custom plan for each client. In the 6 weeks I’ve worked with Erick, I’ve already experienced a significant decrease in pain. The practice is unlike anything I’ve tried, and I’ve tried a LOT of other modalities like acupuncture, massage, and chiropractic which have offered temporary relief but nothing ever stuck. I have improved so much since I started working with Mindful Motion. It's unbelievable and so wonderful that my 100% pain from 15+ years of injuries is down to maybe 5% now, and that is only when I over strain myself. When I started working with Erick, I was a mess, a torn calf that didn't heal well, nerve damage from herniated discs & neck pain from a car accident. The pain reduction has been immense, but there are so many more rewards that I have reaped. For example, after years and years of terrible sleep, I am finally getting enough deep sleep. I am much stronger, and this has certainly empowered me to get even stronger. I am now more knowledgeable of how hard my body works to keep going, and I only consume what's beneficial to efficiently fuel my body. I have never had a good relationship with my body, and even my therapist tried to help me, but only now have I begun to appreciate and be grateful for my body. I wish I had known years ago about Mindful Motion, but now that I do, I am so grateful, and I can't wait to get even stronger. After a scary and uncertain time in my life where I involved in a car accident, I experienced aches and discomfort to my back for a long time. Erik at mindful motion is fantastic. I’ve had multiple really bizarre injuries that would not get better, and he has been the only one to give me relief. Erik is super nice, respectful, and clearly gives it his all to help you. It’s obvious that he’s constantly thinking of new strategies and exercise to help your injury even when he’s off duty. Since mine was so unusual, he worked like a detective to figure out was wrong. Every week he would have new ideas on how to help my weird ankle, and it wasn’t long before it got better. There aren't enough stars (5 doesn't come close) or words to fully express what I've gained from my years training with Erick at Mindful Motion. When I started with Erick nearly 6 years ago I was having slight issues with arthritis and had torn my meniscus. Over the years he has kept these issues in check and helped me avoid further complications as I got older. When I was sure I would need a knee replacement, I opted to trust Erick and his method and today I am walking nearly pain free. He has also treated other areas where my arthritis has made movement difficult, like my hands and feet, making a huge difference in my quality of life. Erick's method is amazing and provides incredible benefits but Erick, the person, is what has made the real difference. He is knowledgeable and patient. And he listens. I highly recommend Erick at Mindful Motion LA.... In a short period of time Erick has helped me manage and lessen my back/nerve pain that came from lumbar stenosis and bi lateral hip replacements. I've expanded my understanding of the workouts I do, due to Eric's deligent explanation while working out.

Erick is very professional, kind, and really cares about his clients' health and well being. I've been working with him for almost two years, from virtual sessions during the early days of the pandemic to in-person visits now.

I have degenerative scoliosis, and workouts and MAT with Erick have been beneficial in lowering my pain level.He's always encouraged me to exercise however much I can and has never been pushy about it. In both MAT and strength training sessions, we work areas that need it the most. Strength training sessions are not overly-strenuous - the focus is on movements that help you gain strength and movement, and aren't painful.

I highly recommend working out and/or doing MAT with Erick, if you want to treat your body to low-impact but hugely beneficial exercise.

Working with Erick has been amazing - I initially went in due to experiencing on and off hip and lower back pain for several years. After just a few MAT sessions, my symptoms improved significantly. Perhaps more importantly, Erick helped me identify root causes that were causing the pain and produced a list of customized exercises for me to follow at home to strengthen some of my weaker areas. My back and hips feel better than they have in years despite sitting more than I should due to work from home.

I have also done some personal training sessions with him and have seen excellent results. He has a bunch of amazing machines you won't find in any standard gym and he is a true expert when it comes to helping you get the most out of any movement.

I came to Erick for a recurring low back injury. Erick was extremely knowledgeable and knew exactly what needed to be done in order to not only relieve pain, but strengthen the muscles in my back to prevent this in the future. He took the time to explain to me what he was doing, and why it was effective, as well as showed me what movements/exercises to avoid.
