Throughout my life I've had difficulty managing my weight and sticking to exercise routines. I couldn't find a lifestyle or approach that would help me reach and maintain a weight, size, and appearance that made me happy and confident. I wanted to avoid feeling like an overweight, flabby, middle-aged woman, struggling with everyday tasks like climbing stairs or getting out of chairs. I wanted to feel strong, optimistic, and confident in my body and myself.
Despite feeling discouraged, I refused to give up, and luckily, I met Anka, who helped me achieve my fitness goals. I aimed to gain strength and fitness, lose weight, and maintain it in the long run.
Thanks to Anka's guidance, I've become much stronger and lost almost 20 pounds. I've even fit back into my favorite pants that had been tucked away in the closet for years. Moreover, I treated myself to new clothes in a size I hadn't worn for ages. Most importantly, I've enjoyed the process and gained a sense of accomplishment that has significantly boosted my confidence.
Unlike my past experiences with stressful diet regimes, Anka's approach has not only helped me achieve my fitness goals but also provided me with a sustainable long-term solution. I didn't have to starve myself or engage in extreme workouts. I began by cutting out inflammatory foods like gluten and sugar, which helped reduce my chronic headaches, night heat, and increase my energy levels. Although I occasionally indulge in these foods on special occasions, I now prioritize "eating clean" as it makes me feel better.
I'm enjoying the progress I've made and have even started using weights at home a few times each week, applying what I've learned from Anka. Others have noticed the positive changes in me, and it feels great to share my positive experiences.

I contacted Anka because I wanted to start a fitness program to get in the best shape of my life for my 50th birthday. I didn't know how to build a monthly workout plan for myself or how to plan a diet around exercise and how to stay on track, so I decided to get help from a professional.
During our work, I toned and built muscle throughout my entire body. I now feel stronger and more confident. Lifting weights also helps me to manage and move stress. Another significant benefit is that I feel more connected with my body, which has helped me in my goals of staying connected to my emotional self and helping me stay more grounded and present during the day.
Working with Anka has been great. I really enjoyed learning about strength training from the expert and working closely with her to reach my goals. Additionally, Anka can be a lot of fun and has often helped me to lift my spirits. We even talked about relationships, and I appreciated hearing a woman's perspective without any judgment.

Integrity, Genius, Kind, Honest, Expert, Coach, Inspiring, Teacher, Motivator.....these are a few words that come to mind when I think about Anka Urbahn. She leads with her soul and works out of her zone of genius.
Before meeting Anka, I tried many diets and programs and even hired a few health coaches along the way. All of these left me frustrated with no direction. I learned more information in my first session with Anka than I did with all other coaches combined. I gained clarity on how to fuel and nourish my body correctly. We worked on mindset and the physical steps I needed to apply to improve my intake of nutrition. Anka helped me understand what foods to eat and when and how to eat them. She broke it down into simple steps, and it just clicked for me. Anka consistently followed up with me to make sure I was doing okay every step of the way. Anka helped me create a new lifestyle that felt organic and easy to follow. She invested in me 150% because she genuinely cares....I always felt seen, heard, and supported.
Her program taught me how to fuel and train my body for life. I could go on and on about how AMAZING Anka is. I highly recommend Anka Urbahn. She is worth every dollar and more!

I have been working with Anka for almost one year. After training for over 25 years, some of that time with other trainers, I thought I knew everything there was to know about fitness and my body. Wow was I totally wrong! After training with Anka, not only did I learn a variety of new and innovated exercises, I learned how to redo all the old exercises I thought I knew but turned out I was doing them completely wrong. Anka had a bold suggestion - hit the reset button! She suggested I start from scratch to undo all the poor form and body posture - this time train with proper warm up, stretching and perfect form.
I'll admit, at first I was a little frustrated as I felt like I was going backwards. However, Anka had a plan, and after several months the light bulb went off and I realized why she did what she did. Not only did I get back to where I was physically, I surpassed my expectations and saw my body change in ways I never thought possible. Plus, all the pain I experienced from training on my own were now gone as now I was training with safe form.
When you work with Anka, you have her full attention, not only during your training session, but anytime you have questions in between. She gets to know your body and your mind, which enables her to come up with a realistic plan that you will not give up on. Finally, Anka knows as much about nutrition (eating properly and timing for your meals) as she does about training. She offered amazing meal plan tips that further peaked my performance and supported my physical goals. Anka can adapt to any level of experience and any level of goal. I would strongly recommend her to any of my family, friends and acquaintances!

Anka is magical! We started training together back in 2016 (time flies), and she completely changed my life. I was 227 pounds when we started, and I lost over 50 pounds within a year. I went from a size 13/14 to a 7/8.
Words can't describe the transformation she invested all her energy into. I wouldn't be the person I am today if it weren't for her. She taught me the importance of living a healthy, balanced life. I learned how to properly workout! She shows you the importance of form and will correct you, so you naturally know when you're doing an exercise incorrectly (trust me, this is essential). I'm not intimidated by the gym anymore, I feel so confident and comfortable with what I'm doing because of all the things she showed me. I still follow her meal plan to this day, and it's been over a year since I've trained with Anka. She's an angel! I value her knowledge because she knows what she's talking about. TRUST HER. You will SEE a difference if you put in the effort. Training with Anka is a partnership, and it's really beautiful. I'm thankful that I made this investment because it's still paying off today.
P.S. You get to eat all the good stuff on her nutrition plan, including carbs. Stick to your meal plan. TRUST ME!

Having struggled on and off with anxiety and depression, I decided I wanted to get more physically active and stronger in my body, in part to interrupt my old patterns of overwork, worrying, and getting stuck in my head. I used to be much more active, but stopped after an ankle injury that had also left my body lopsided from compensating for the weakened ankle. I was feeling frustrated that I wasn't more active and not very strong, and this colored my overall confidence in myself and in my life. It was time to make changes so I googled "body positive personal trainer for women" and found Anka!
Anka balances supportiveness and discipline in a helpful way. She's no-nonsense and I know that she does this work because she genuinely cares about her clients and wants them to be happy, healthy, and thriving. She pushes me to work hard, and I also know that she has my back and is rooting for me.
I feel stronger and more balanced in my body, and I've definitely gotten some complements recently on my fitness level!

Anka is amazing. She is inspiring and very knowledgeable about fitness, nutrition, but most importantly for me body mechanics. I started working with her about 3 years ago after working with another excellent trainer who I worked with for many years but retired. Anka has made me aware of various issues with my movement, etc. that are result of inherited skeletal issues but there are ways to correct them to avoid problems. She is the first person to bring this up and it was confirmed by the specialist foot orthopedist at Stanford which I consulted after years of getting bad advice from two podiatrists. We have worked hard on correcting the body mechanics and also on my weight lifting form and general strength. One result of the inherited skeletal issues and many years of playing tennis was a very severe bunion. Anka and I knew that surgery was going to have to happen sooner or later so she also helped strengthen areas that would be key for recovery. She has worked with me to overcome two surgeries and kept me positive. You get what you pay for so if you want a holistic trainer that will help you not only with health and fitness but with your confidence and make you a happier and better person, I highly recommend that you hire Anka. The money you pay her for her expertise will pay dividends in the quality of your life.

Hiring Anka to be my personal trainer was one of the best decisions I've made in my work-out journey!
Before I trained with her, I've worked out on my own for so many years. But, due to the stresses and pressures of work and life, I've let things slip and had lost sight of my fitness goals. I didn't work out regularly anymore and did not pay attention to things I ate...I simply couldn't stand the lifestyle I was living anymore. I then realized working out on my own didn't get me the results any more and something had to change.
When I found Anka my gut told me I've found the trainer for me - someone who is serious about being a trainer and who would motivate me and push me to achieve my goals.
Fast forward ten months and my life is completely transformed. I started out at 135 lbs and 30% body fat! Now I weight 112 labs and 21% body fat!! Not only that, with Anka's help, I've developed a balanced and easy-to-maintain meal plan. I consistently eat better (a lot less sugar, more protein). I felt I've become a new person.
Training with Anka, I've learned a lot about doing exercises correctly and effectively - things I wasn't able to do on my own. I now know how to train properly. Anka also taught me how to eat better, which is a key aspect of me. I've always have been a foodie. I don't have to give that up but just learn to eat better. Anka encouraged me to track my food intake regularly and kept talking to me about what to do better. She kept me motivated and held me accountable. I think Anka really has some magic power that she could bring it out of your best capability as long as you are willing to put in the effort. She believed in me and encouraged me to believe in myself too. Achieving that sense of self-belief was the coolest thing about working with Anka.
Thanks to Anka, I feel stronger, leaner and lighter than ever before. I've changed my life style. My goal is to continue this new improved lifestyle and continue to work out regularly and eat better consistently.

I've worked with personal trainers in the past and after a while it always felt like they lost interest working with me. I was just another client. Training with Anka is different. After more that one year working with her she is still fully focused on helping me reach my goals and makes sure I train at my potential.
I was looking for someone who can help me develop muscle tone and ended up getting much more. Anka emphasizes proper form and technique; she watches closely and makes adjustment throughout the entire session. She'll explain using simple analogies that help me understand and remember. Under her training, I have become more efficient and I am learning to maximize my workouts. I am seeing results in the way my body has change. I value Anka's deep knowledge and appreciate her willingness to readily share all that she knows.
I love that Anka is in amazing shape herself. When she demonstrates an exercise for me, I can see clearly the muscles that are/should be working and I am inspired to do the same. I love that she is direct and no nonsense, yet has the biggest heart and is so very supportive. I am grateful to have found her.
