Shana Meyerson is wonderful and we endorse her unequivocally, for loving, intelligent, and intentional development of the most important thing in your life, which is your children. that's the short version.

Here is the long version. We were not surprised when our son was diagnosed as neurodivergent (moderate autism + a healthy dose of adhd). Alongside the diagnosis, we were recommended a number of medical services, including seeing an orthopedic specialist and PT for his toe-walking, which he has been doing for so long that he has lost flexibility in his calfs and hamstrings. We didn't want his life to be so medicalized, with everything coming from a deficit focus of "you are sub-normal in this area and here is how to get to normal."

We came across "mini yogis for kids" after a lot of research trying to find a yoga instructor who knows how to work with kids on the autism spectrum. We are so glad we did!

I will always remember the day that our song got back from his first day at Yoga. he did the full lotus position and he was SO PROUD OF HIMSELF!

Not only has Shana helped our son become more flexible, but she has helped him develop a regular, daily yoga practice, and he is more confident in his body and himself. Our son loves working with Shana, even though she pushes him very hard. She has a wonderful, playful way with children, lots of laughing, lots of fun back-and-forth. Shana helps our son not be constrained of the labels of diagnosis. She pushes him to grow his powers of concentration. he can now meditate for 10 minutes at a time. After learning the basics of poses, she then slowly starts demanding greater precision about getting the pose exactly right. She mixes in fun games that stretch him physically and intellectually. We started with Shana thinking it would be a few months of learning some basics and then he would do it on his own with YouTube or something. Now, I think we will be working with Shana for years.

Price-wise it's not cheap, and we are not wealthy people, but I think it is an excellent value for what you get. For all those parents who have children with special needs (that is, most parents), the key is, how do you find providers who really care, who are really good at what they do, who will help your child realize their full potential, and especially in a non-medicalized way that doesn't sap their self-confidence. That's what we have concluded; find a small number of really good providers and spend your limited budget on that.

We vouch for Shana 100%. She really cares about helping our son develop his full potential and she cares about him as a person. We are lucky to be working with her!

Shana has been working with a child I nanny for over the past few months and it’s safe to say her confidence has sky rocketed since they met. Shana is super kind and attentive, yet the perfect amount of stern. She’s able to bring out the confidence in little ones and help them overcome fears and anxieties all while strengthening their little minds and bodies! Shana is also so patient and accommodating to schedule changes which has been so helpful for us. We appreciate her skills, patience, and have learned so much from her.

Shana is a phenomenal yoga instructor. Patient but firm, grounded in today but rooted in tradition, and basically just a bright shining light of a person. My son has been studying with Shana for years and his practice has been a touchstone for him as he transitioned from childhood to adolescence. Our family is exceedingly grateful to have Shana in our lives.

Shana is wonderful with both of my children. They look forward to their yoga day. My older child lights up every time she practices with Shana and she can’t wait to tell me all about what she worked on. Shana makes each of my children feel special. She sees them, listens to them, and works with them right where they are.

I have been working with Shana founder of mini yogis yoga for kids ever since I took her training in 2013. The training taught me how to teach kids yoga in a way that was not only fun for the kids but educational at the same time. Since I had 2 young ones at home, I wanted to learn how to teach kids and bring this offering to my studio.
Her method of teaching kids is different than any other kids teacher I have run across. Most kids yoga teachers practice yoga asanas for about 30m and perform a craft or game for the remainder of class. Shana teaches you how to tell a story where you weave in postures throughout the story and teach kids yoga and mindfulness the entire class! Kids leave feeling happy, grounded and empowered in their practice.
I highly recommend her trainings to everyone!
