Fine if you can get parking which is always kind of a tossup.

Terrible customer service. We signed up our kids for swimming classes, and every time they get canceled, nobody informs us. We drive all the way there, and they confidently say they called us β but in reality, nobody ever did. And no one ever apologizes for such inconvenience. The lady at the front desk was rude and unfriendly.

The pool hours for the Summer are really bad. Why would you close the pool at 2:00 pm during the busiest season of the year!!! I was a member of this facility for Avery long time and enjoyed their pool with my family during the weekends on a hot Summer day. They even offered Adult Swim lessons those are gone too. I hope this facility will re-think and improve by offering the old schedule they had before the pandemic. I want to rejoin but with their limited schedule and use of the pool is not worth the money.

Hot tub is always closed. The age for children to use the hot tub changed to toddlers and up. Since this change, the hot tub has been consistently closed and unavailable for use 3/7 days a week, sometimes more. Such a shame to pay a membership fee and be denied access to the hot tub so often. The use of the hot tub is helpful for muscle recovery and has many benefits.

Poor lifeguard etiquette with a lack of consistency in how they treat guests and especially when it comes to random rule implementations depending on which lifeguard you get. It is clear to the casual observer that they lack basic training and are unclear on rules themselves as often times they make them up as they go. Also, if you are a parent of small children I would strongly advise against using this facility if your child's safety is important.

I signed up here to try to get back into swimming. The lane reservation is a cool feature but I found that it was useless. The first time I went, there was another man occupying my reserved lane. The second time I showed up for my reserved lane, I got kicked out within five minutes because there was a "swimming lesson that took priority." The staff didn't really care to communicate what might have gone wrong. The pool also isn't very clean. The staff was friendly otherwise however, and the facility is nice, this place just did a poor job of serving my specific needs and I canceled my membership after two visits.

I've been a member for years and enjoy being able to reserve a swim lane. However, the last few times I've been to the pool, it's been VERY murky with grime on the walls and accumulated brown grime at the bottom. I understand there are trees above that drop some natural debris, but a simple scrub by a pool cleaner every so often would go a long way.
Still giving 4* since I'm confident this will be addressed and otherwise love the facility. I talked to another person who was leaving when I did and saying the same thing.

Become a member today and start enjoying all of the benefits that the YMCA has to offer. This location has a full gym, sports areas, and a swimming pool. They also have several programs for the community to participate in. I recommend the Adventure Guides program for fathers and their kids. They also offer martial arts classes.

After years of feeling stupid uselessly working out in a fitness club, I came to the YMCA to have a personal trainer teach me which workout machines and weights to use. Did I mention that Iβm a 65-year-old overweight female with a bad back? In an affordable 3x personal training program, YMCA trainer Matt said βNo.β Instead, he introduced me to core exercises and balancing techniques I never knew I needed. Matt is amazing. He gently took me from stubborn and unfeasible fitness goals to a program that helps me succeed, safely. Thank you, Matt. You know how to βread the room.βπ

I've been going to the Mission Viejo YMCA for about 5 years.
No ego, no B's, great staff.
They kept open right through Covid and moved most of the machines outside. Those things are heavy!
I appreciate the staff and team there and look forward to many more years.

I stopped by to see if Mission Viejo Family YMCA was open. This is a great place for the entire family. They have basketball, a small soccer arena and lots of other things to do. This YMCA is clean and we'll taken care of. You should stop by to see for yourself how nice this YMCA really is. Highly recommend

Francesca is the BEST group exercise instructor! I live in a beautiful place in Colorado.... But, I want to move here just so I can attend her boot camp classes!!! Best classes ever. The pool area is gorgeous. The layout is a little odd, but the classes in general are numerous and will get you awesome workouts. The childcare area is huge and the kids even get to play outside if they want to (sandbox, swings, plastic structures, ball games, etc.). My daughter loves it here and has so much fun every time. I can't wait to come back for my biennial visit!

I have no idea why this place has such high reviews. The parking lot is a disaster and the weight rooms are awful. After moving here from Costa Mesa I was expecting a really decked out why because eof the grant this one got. Seems like they wasted all the money catering to a small subset of their members rather then building out parking, or having a single power rack. The heaviest kettle bell they have is 30lbs.
Pro tip - not everyone is into les mills. Spend some money on your weight room.

This YMCA is great! You can't beat it for the price. The facility and workout equipment is a little aged (the reason for 4 stars instead of 5), but it has everything you need for working out including a pool, which is also kid friendly for play days.

I've only played adult soccer here, so I can't reflect on the entire facility, but I have to say I would give this place a 0/10.
I have played here two seasons, first of which my team won the championship, the second - we were in the championship game but walked away as a team because of the disregard for safety, completely incapable and negligent referees, and incapable staff organizers.
Referees in this facility allow gameplay to become dangerously aggressive and do not make calls to protect players on the field. In our last game a player on the other team made a run from behind into the boards pushing and swinging at a girl on my team trying to injure her. There was no other intention. I watched her run across the field and push my player from behind into the boards. Not only did the referee allow this to happen, but gave our player a red card and allowed the girl who tried to intentionally injure our player who started the fight to continue to play without a foul. The idiot coordinator yelled at our team. Sorry we are not going to let ourselves be a punching bag because you and your idiot referees allow people to start fights. This isn't the only instance though. Game in and game out, foul after foul, it's the same thing. Referees call fouls on clean plays, and allow players who kick heels, throw elbows, and injure other players to run along without consequence.
If you know how to play soccer, stay away from this place. Itβs a waste of time and you will get injured. I have played highly competitively and recreationally my whole life, this place is the worst I have ever seen.
---
My team was often up by several goals and I told the coordinator frankly. βReferees need to call the game both waysβ. He replied βYeahβ¦ but your team is ahead so who cares.β Game in and game out I've been elbowed in the face, fouled from behind, hit, and slammed into the boards. I play hard clean soccer well within the rules and fouls are called me, not the guy who comes in with his arms up and elbows me in the face.
In our last game a player made a run at a girl on my team who was battling for the ball. She ran from behind the play with the sole purpose of injuring our player. Sorry your team is losing, and sorry you cant play competitive soccer without having to try and punch someone. Obviously there was a scuffle. Our team pushed the other players back defending our own. Our player received a red card for pushing the girl away defending herself. Rather than the girl who attacked, intending to injure her. I was ready to walk off the field and quit right then, but my team protested. We were up by 10 goals that is how big of a joke this place is. Itβs not fun, and it's certainly not soccer. Maybe 1-2 teams that play show any kind of sportsmanlike conduct. Girls or guys, it doesn't matter. Everyone needs to follow the rules, and referees need to keep control of the game.
