It's hard to believe this venue lacks air conditioning or fans while charging $20 per person, plus an additional $20 for parking! The restrooms were not properly maintained, raising significant health concerns given the number of attendees. Additionally, the seating arrangements were quite inadequate for spectators.Very disappointed

Volleyball clubs Be Aware. The HS running the Aug event will charge 10% processing for scanning the QR code and buying your tickets “ahead of time” before walking into the front door. 2 days 2 adults $30 each plus 10% will cost you $66.00. And they do not plan ahead and circulate cold air with the large fans in the morning to prepare for the afternoon heat. Volleyball game players are miserable thought the day. Poor planning.

For as large as this facility is and as frequently it gets used for AAU tournaments, I am surprised that there are no fans in this establishment. It is the middle of summer and over 80° in Irvine. It was so hot in the building. Just sitting there as a spectator was uncomfortable. I imagine it was worse for the players.

What an amazing basketball gym. They have bleachers, but not comfortable. Card is the only form of payment accepted no cash, no ins or outs for parking. Parking and entrance cost $20 each. They have a great food selection with a big dinning area that is air conditioned. I wish they had fans or some way to air out the gym. It can get very hot and stinky. Overall great place, it can get expensive with parking, tickets to get in and food!!!

Momentous Sports Center in Irvine, California, is a massive, multi-sport complex that has become a hub for athletic training, tournaments, and recreational play since its opening in late 2014. Featuring over $1 million in low‑impact Haro hardwood flooring, it boasts 22 indoor volleyball courts, along with 21 basketball and 21 futsal courts, allowing it to host large-scale events year-round .

✔ Highlights
• State-of-the-art facilities: The center’s expansive layout caters to athletes of all ages, making it ideal for volleyball clubs, basketball leagues, or futsal teams ().
• Club & training amenities: Home to the Momentous Volleyball Club, it provides consistent weekly court time and professional coaching, plus a pro-shop and full-service restaurant with seating for up to 400 .
• Community & programming: Offers open gyms, age-group sessions (like “Starfish Volleyball School”), camps, and tournaments—great for skill development and social interaction .

⚠ Challenges & Criticism
• Venue discomfort: Numerous reviews mention inconsistent climate control—some days it’s freezing, other times stiflingly hot due to lack of proper AC or fans .
• Parking and fees: Parking is often expensive (~$15–20/car) and enforced strictly during events, with additional per‑person admission charges causing surprise and frustration .
• Customer experience issues: Some patrons describe poor event organization—long restroom lines, overpriced concessions, and aggressive upselling of private training sessions .

🏀 Final Take

Momentous Sports Center stands as a well-equipped, versatile facility ideal for serious athletes, youth clubs, and large-scale sporting events. Its scale and offerings—like dedicated training zones and quality courts—are impressive. That said, comfort and cost management need improvement to match the premium experience its facilities promise.
If you’re focused on elite training or tournament play, it delivers. But if you value climate comfort, affordable access, and smoother logistics, be prepared to navigate some bumps.

Will avoid bringing my kids to any tournaments here in future. Loud, hot and humid in the gym, and $20 parking with no in and out privileges and no nearby options. If you have multiple kids here with games scheduled at different times of the day, you are screwed with parking. With $25 entry, that’s $45 to watch my 13 yo kid play basketball. I pay less to go to professional sports games.

As a volleyball dad, we are at various locations in the greater Orange County and San Bernardino County. By far, Momentous is my favorite venue. It is spacious, and the bonus is the full service cafeteria. The FRIES, OMG. Anywho, the place is clean and has great court surfaces for volleyball and basketball. Each court has just enough space for parents, although I recommend bringing a camping chair just in case. The staff is cool and attentive to drink spills and bathroom maintenance. It is cashless, so make sure to bring your credit or debit card. For convenience, I prepay admission tickets online. Their website has the link. Parking is also cashless, and the lot fills up super fast. If you play at like 8am, the lot will likely fill up by 6:50. It's $20 to park, and when the lot is full, they will direct you to their other lots within a block away. They have a coffee bar, hot foods from breakfast to lunch, bottled water and fruit juices, snacks, and an Icee machine. Did I mention fries? 🤪🍟 Have them top it with Nacho cheese while you are there. Be forewarned. Everything is amusement park priced.

$20 Parking is very limited. On weekends, adjacent businesses allow parking for $20, but not during the week. You have to park at Harvard Park and walk. Admission is $20 per adult. Gym is VERY hot and humid with no circulation. Bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. Outside there is artificial turf to picnic on, but there is trash everywhere. I expected a nicer, cleaner facility with a better parking situation.

Come here often for volleyball tournaments. Most of the time we have to park in the second parking lot across the main road.
I would advise if you have family unable to walk far to drop them off prior to parking (no re-entry). Parking $20 & entry $20.
It’s also very crowded and I would recommend bringing your own chairs as the bleachers fill up fast.

We love this place and have been coming here for the past two years.
All around is acceptable, except today I was told I could no longer be in the facility with my Son's dog.
Further more, I was accused of having slided by previously to avoid being stopped by staff!
Not only that sounded absurd, the young lady who made the comments had a terrible attitude and clearly biased.
Maybe she could enjoy better trainings on 🐕 policy and customer service!

Momentous Sports Center has unfortunately turned what should be a fun and enjoyable experience into a frustrating one. The high parking fees ($20) with no in-and-out privileges, coupled with limited food options, especially for those with dietary restrictions, effectively traps visitors.

The crowded courts, obstructed views due to black nets and sponsorship banners at eye level, and cramped playing areas further diminish the experience. It's disappointing that after paying significant tournament fees, spectators are still required to pay an entry fee to watch the games.

To improve the overall value, Momentous Sports Center should consider offering family entry packages, low-cost parking options or shuttle services, and more flexible parking policies. By addressing these concerns, they can create a more welcoming and affordable environment for families and athletes alike. I will request my org not to participate at this facility until they can make more reasonable accommodations.

I love this place but only 4 stars and here is why,
The good part
1 a nice and well cafeteria. A nice cool air conditioner. A good place to study. Tasty foods
2 a nice clean bathroom
2 good and serious coaches
The bad part is the air conditioning! On the court. Their is a few fans to keep the players cool
1 heat stroke. Many basketball and volleyball players fainted of the heat!
2 Bring your water! The water is 5 BUCKS for a small bottle. There is a water filler but the water is nasty and moldy.
3 Sometimes they put they TV on so loud that kids and adults cannnot focus.
I REALLY enjoy this court bit this NO AIR CONDITIONING ON COURT needs to be fixed immediately

This place was so miserable that I contemplated coming back the next day to watch my daughter play. They charge you $20 for parking and then have to walk so far with no re entry so you can’t leave. Then you get in there with hundreds of people and no A/C. The girls playing were overheated and miserable as well. And then there is only one bathroom area with a long line.

★ 1

THIS PLACE IS TERRIBLE!!!
Let me tell you why:
1) Charged $20 per car for parking, and I had to park a mile away from the facility. No shuttles. Had to walk with in the heat with all my gear.
2) Charged $10 per head entry fee for each day of the tournament.
3) Well over 1000 people inside, during the middle of summer, with no AC! The facility doesn't even have those large industrial ceiling fans to at least move the hot, humid air around. The extreme heat and humidity continues to build throughout the day until it is seriously unbearable.
4) During the winter, it is freezing inside.
5) The one single thing that irritates me more than anything is that someone had the audacity to build such a large facility and only include one relatively small restroom. The restrooms always smell terrible, and the line is always endless.
6) It is always extremely loud in there. Other similar facilities have noise reducing curtains hanging between courts, but not here.

Literally HATE this place for two reasons - anything else is besides the point…
These are four years running , thankfully it’s only one, sometimes twice a season… but no reason to fix it it , they get their money.
- 90 degrees outside and ZERO AIR CIRCULATION inside. Packed with athletes (volleyball) and it’s miserable inside…. What could go wrong?….
Absolutely no air moving miserable.
- Parking — …. $20 on site - sign says Lot Full, they send ya 1/2 mile down the road - then THAT lot turns everyone away (“sorry… we’re like, full”) so BACK to the Center they send a line of cars and a 30 minute crawl to find a spot as morning games spots clear out.
BE WARNED OF ‘NO PARKING ON STREET’ signs…. They drool for the suckers that do it out of desperation - I’ve seen the rows of tickets on the 1/2 mile walk.
Rubbish experience…. Again… and again…
BONUS GRIPE —- severe lack of seating and space for chairs. Two small steel rows of benches cramped together with 9’ of room for chairs on with side… it’s “cozy”
Total misery…. Thank you Momentous for sucking out loud on an August weekend.

Could have tons of potential with this place( but alas, not so much. As a club volleyball dad who had been coming here for years, I can attest to the accuracy of the reviews from SCVBA's summer soirée event. Typical Momentous ripoff, 40 bucks for parking and to get in, and god forbid you buy yourself or your daughter a snack or some water. While I can appreciate the great upsides of this facility such as ample court space and a great cafe, coupled with the amount of overhead a facility must have from rent/mortgage to insurance, utilities, and staffing costs, the return on investment for spending a minimum of 60 bucks per day (including parking, enterance fees, and a water or two and a snack), just simply misses the mark! You will freeze in the winter months and sit in a sauna in the summer, the only acceptable somewhat decent times at this facility seem to be in the fall or spring on "moderate temperature days", if you have a morning session on these days a light sweater or jacket may be needed but typically is fairly comfortable by the afternoon. SCVBA really dropped the ball in this years soirée event, with the confusion on two facilities to the all session pass (apparently only available at Long Beach Convention Center, apparently to appease Momentous with their desire to snatch 20 bucks for parking and 20 bucks a head). Overall assessment: The return on investment to freeze in the winter time and have heat stroke in the summer just isn't there. If you're going to force a captive audience to pay your prices, fine, make the environmental HVAC and restroom concerns safe and comfortable for everyone, fore-mostly for the players, but also for the parents or other spectators. Did anyone else play A LOT of tournaments this year at Momentous as opposed to previous years? Last club season we went to 5 or 6 different facilities for tournaments. This season? All Momentous except for one tournament. SCVBA and Momentous in cahoots? Or is Momentous shaking down SCVBA like they do to the kids playing in this oppressive heat and us parents?

$20 a day per person to get in plus the facility was so freaking hot! You would think to pay $80 for a four day tournament you wouldn't have to be sweating in the stands! Staff at the door was rude too. If the A/C is broken, maybe reduce the entry fee for a consolation! Have been going here for the last ten years, and it is always clean and well managed, although expensive. Currently costs $20 per adult for volleyball tournaments, and another $20 for parking, even in remote lots down the road. Trash see the picture, yes that’s exactly what I think of this place because of the policies, $20 parking no in out, we came from Sacramento for a Huntington’s disease charity tournament 3 hours between games, can’t go out or visit family, this is silly, how much money is enough

Incredible volleyball tournament venue with ample parking. Very organized and courteous parking lot crew to greet us and take credit card payment for parking. A little expensive on the parking amount $21 or something like that however that's the only place you can park so be it. Great food facilities inside and delicious portions and options. The food and drinks wowed our family it's above average for a tournament or snack bar. Well done everyone very organized facilities. And clean!

With how much money they make from tournaments, you'd think they could afford to turn the air on.

$20 parking and $20 per person to get in is ridiculous.

It was expensive for the tournament we attended. The sports center charged $20 pp and $20 for parking in nearby lots. There was limited seating and/or areas to place a chair. It was tight seating. There is a huge snack bar area and you can watch via livebarn.

We came for a volleyball tournament. Each club pays a reservation fee. On top of that we pay for parking and entrance to the tournament.
For $20/car, the parking arrangements were over-crowded and far from the facility. And there's no leaving/returning to the parking area, effectively forcing everyone to eat at the Momentus snack bar, which is just ok.
Entrance tickets are $20 pp yet the basketball nets were still down and there weren't enough officials to ref and score the games. Please do better

Terrible place to enjoy volleyball. Over crowded, $20 each for me and my family to get in. $20 to park a mile away and so loud inside you can’t even carry on a conversation.

This place is very very loud. If you go for a volleyball or basketball tournament make sure to bring some ear plugs or headphones to drown out the screaming. Also food and drinks are extremely overpriced not worth it. If you can get food before your games do so otherwise you'll be spending a lot.. facility was clean though.

This facility does not care about the athletes. Why would they not turn on the heat? The volleyball players are playing in a gym that is probably 55 degrees. That isn’t healthy.

Horrible for large tournaments and events. Never enough parking. Attendees have to park a mile down the street and they still get charged obnoxious rates.

This place is a rip off. They charge you to get in, charge it up park, then they overprice their food. Not to mention the parking is a nightmare. They don’t let anybody in the neighboring lots even though you’re paying 20 bucks each.

The courts are spectacular. The volleyball nets have no holes and are good quality, and their staff are friendly and helpful. I'm only giving it 4 stars because sometimes the courts can be dusty by the emergency exits and by the walkway, which is really annoying. Besides that, overall, 8 out on 10

It was very clean, workers came by pretty regular to empty and to pick up the trash. Its a fun to play at.

However, the cost of the items seemed a bit high for what you got. A double cheeseburger without fries was around $15. While about 2 miles away, you could get a drink, fries and a double cheeseburger for less than $15.

They charge too much for parking and entry fee, ( $20 parking and $10 entry). The place is dirty and gross. They make parents wait in line for 20-30 min after the players go in. Poorly run!!! The facility is incredibly hot and miserable. They charge an arm and a leg for food (which is horrible). Worst facility to play volleyball

It was so hot and Humid, I'd be surprised if there where no heat related injuries. This place needs to be air-conditioned.

Difficult to find tournament parking after paying $20 and you cannot leave the parking lot and come back. No staff around to help stream line the parking process or to notify arriving guests when the entire lot around the building is close to being full. Admission fee is high at $15 per person, per day. Cafe food is overpriced. Paid $9 for a small container of fruit. Facility is too hot for players to be playing in, as well as for the spectators. The courts are a bit run down.

Why do you lie to people?

Tell the truth. You are not disclosing your expensive parking rules because you want to force people to eat your overpriced food for hours in between games.

And you try to sale some garbage about it helps parking flow. Liars.

I’ll be advising our coaches not to come back if this is where we go. (Oh… and I sponsor the entire team)

Your charges are also disputable on credit card when you don’t disclose it up front. I hope others see this and know they can do that.

They charge $20 for parking but the real problem is they don’t allow in and out entry so if you have a long gap in between games you can’t leave unless you pay another $20 when you return. They want you to stay so you can spend more money on the food court. Another issue is that when their lot is full they will tell you to park in the overflow lot about 2-3 blocks away and still pay same amount $20. I asked if I can move my car since they have open space but they won’t let you even though it’s the same company charging you.
There is a/c in the food court only but not in the entire gym so it is super hot and stuffy. Not fond of this gym at all. I do not recommend.

Miserably hot no industrial or ceiling fans and no AC apparently horrible! had the scorers table literally on the court (see photo) supposedly attending an “NCAA certified” through West Coast “Elite” basketball club. Bad refs and worse over priced food. Parking ridiculous all a giant disgusting money grab event with seriously unsafe playing conditions due to 90d temps in the gym and scoring tables on the court. Would never ever come here again and play in this location and especially not travel here from out of state to play for this west coast elite tournament host or at this facility. Do not play basketball here when it’s even slightly warm outside or when it’s hosted by West coast Elite

Courts are nice. Separate room to eat. Be warned they do not turn on AC or open ventilation so if you are there late morning on, be prepared to sweat right when you walk in. Also…bring water otherwise you will need to pay $5.

This disaster of a gym doesn't even provide ICE for first aid. Unacceptable to charge $$$ to treat an injury! Should be ashamed of themselves!!!
After walking the length of the building to get to the cafe, (where a red shirtworker told me to go for a bag of ice), cafe woman told me to go all the way back to the clinic where ice will cost you.

Momentous is our favorite place to play volleyball tournaments. They have the nicest indoor facility, the best snack bar area, and plenty of parking. We recently played a volleyball tournament there on Mother's Day weekend, and the Helpful Honda people were there to give all moms a back and neck massage or a maincure! It was fabulous and an unexpected surprise!
