Monarch Pilates offers a holistic approach to healing and strengthening your body. I prefer their nuanced approach to Pilates over other studios focusing on exercise only. The instructors and physical therapists take time to help you understand the purpose of different kinds of movements and are very open to answering questions. With their patient and knowledgeable guidance, I have been able to build back from chronic injury and gain strength I never had before. Cannot recommend Monarch Pilates highly enough!

As someone completely new to Pilates, I was a little nervous using a reformer. The instructors are really knowledgeable and have instantly put me at ease. Also, the studio environment is incredibly welcoming and clean.

In two months I’ve learned so much valuable information about using my body. Information that seems to be ironing out some longtime kinks that I’ve been dealing with. Monarch and all the teachers are great.

The classes are set-up to really set your foundation before you advance your work out, and there are also private lessons available to help you dive a bit deeper into yourself when you feel like you need it.

Attended my first class today at Monarch Pilates and it was amazing! I’ve never done a workout class before and was honestly pretty intimidated by them since I knew I wouldn’t know what to do, but coming here everyone made me feel welcome and comfortable. Sandy was an amazing instructor and had me engaging my core in new ways I had never even thought about. I can’t wait to keep trying new classes and continue my fitness journey here!

Excellent Pilates studio with lots of options to choose from. I enjoy the progressions reformer class on a continuous basis. Have also benefited from pelvic floor, shoulder and the oov class. Instructors are all certified and are hand-on as needed. I like getting that extra help to correct my position. Nice to have an option to get 4, 8, 12 classes monthly.

22 years commitment is a long time for any relationship.
Mine with Monarch Pilates & Physical Therapy been one of the best, most appreciated connections I’ve experienced. Pilates has cultivated an appreciation for my physical body and its capabilities. But my mind goes through its paces as well. This studio is a place of growth, strength and confidence building. From the talented, well educated team to the friendly fellow clientele, it’s welcoming, special place. ♥️

Monarch Pilates is my “zen zone.” After every session, I stand straighter, feel refreshed, & work with more mental clarity for the rest of my week. I have been working with Laura in private and duo sessions (yes, my daughter loves to join me when she can!) for about 4 years now and literally learn something new EVERY session: how my body moves compensatorily vs. with intent, trending theories, the latest props, and personalized exercises. Most recently, Laura has incorporated her knowledge of PRI (Postural Restoration Institute) breathwork and exercises to address my asymmetrical movements related to both mild scoliosis and the natural human anatomy. Using this holistic approach, Laura has taught me how to release daily tension from head to toe by using simple props at home with a series of specific breathing, eye, jaw, and head movements. She has pinpointed details I can neither see nor feel myself and provided guidance to retrain my muscles and proprioception so I am able to move more confidently, with improved range of motion, and without pain. With relatable verbal cues, short instructional videos, conversation, and a comfortable studio space, sessions are FUN! Laura has completely changed my view of physical exercise from the “no pain, no gain, must control & fight through it” mentality to an enjoyable approach in which I am calmly focused, “listening” for cues of discomfort that require adjustments, then letting my body find its natural path of movement. I have to admit I was surprised at how strenuous the workout felt (and truly is), though I did not even break a sweat! I am learning to use muscles I never knew I even had. And am thrilled to say, “I have finally found my core and am using it more effectively with each session.” You don’t know how good you can feel until you do. I highly recommend scheduling a session with Laura and exploring all that Monarch Pilates has to offer!

This studio is amazing! The staff and instructors are so welcoming and the space is beautiful. I have been to several classes now and each time I learn something new or get to build upon other skills. Admittedly, I was anxious to try something new that I wasn’t sure I’d be any good at, but I’ve felt nothing but supported and encouraged during every class. Can’t recommend this sweet studio enough!

My experience over the past year and several months with Jenny Murphy, Physical Therapist and Pilates Instructor at Monarch Pilates, has been nothing short of stellar. She has been so supportive and helpful. I have multiple injuries from the repetitive stress of my years as a musician and structural issues from birth. Jenny has guided me in developing an exercise program with Pilates that accommodates all my limitations and helps me improve my strength and mobility. After a workout, Jenny supports me with hands on physical manipulation that helps me stay pain free and minimizes flare ups. She has greatly helped me to understand my body and its patterns. I feel stronger and more stable in my body than I have in years.

I have just experienced an educational session with Laura Ely on the Oov, a special training device developed by an osteopath. It was nothing short of transformative. Laura is extremely knowledgeable about scoliosis, a condition that has challenged me for decades. She guided me through a relaxing and easeful session on the Oov and I received releases of tension throughout my body that I have never experienced in any other modality. I highly recommend an exploration of this device with Laura.

Monarch Pilates prenatal classes have been a godsend for me during my first pregnancy! I have learned so much about my own body and how to take care of myself during pregnancy and even prepare for labor. Before Monarch, I only very vaguely knew what a pelvic floor was, let alone how to care for it and the pelvic floor’s role in pregnancy. When I mentioned this in my first prenatal class, Sandy took the time to really explain it & helped me connect with my pelvic floor, something I didn’t find intuitive at first.

Classes are small & approachable. While you’re getting a workout in prenatal classes, it’s much more about body awareness and connection & classes are appropriate for all levels, even people who are completely new to pilates. I wish I’d found these classes much earlier in my pregnancy! I’m so thankful to Sandy, Maya and the whole team at Monarch for these amazing classes to support pregnant people. I look forward to coming back for postnatal and beyond!

I’m picky when it comes to Pilates, and I’m in LOVE with this studio that Sandy has carefully curated. Her enthusiasm carries through in her teachings and I couldn’t be more grateful for great queuing as well. I’ve been practicing Pilates for more than 15 years in town and a Hairdresser of over 30 years. Aligning my body is crucial. This studio is clean , feels great, and is professional . Thanks Monarch for you great work and front of the house!

I am so glad I found Monarch Pilates! After a 15+ year hiatus, I was nervous to return to pilates. The Monarch teachers are helping me to relocate all the old muscles and movements. I enjoy the feel of the studio, the instructors and clients are all lovely.
Recently Sandi has been trialing new offerings as Pop ups, they are a good opportunity to explore and give feedback.
To all the staff at Monarch, thanks. May we enjoy many years of healthy movement together.

I have done two pop up classes on back health with Lani. In each class I learned practical information about causes of low back pain and learned specific exercises I can use at home everyday to help gain flexibility and mobility. Lani took time to interview each student to understand what is going on with our backs before class and incorporated that knowledge into what she taught us. Wonderful

Where do I begin . . . I remember my intake appt. where Sandy asked if I sprained my ankle a lot as a kid [yup and omg how did you know🤯] - over the past two years, my whole body has transformed. I went from wanting weight loss to realizing that mobility is *everything* . . . weight loss happened as well but the SUPER PLUS is that my feet and back don’t hurt anymore 🥰. ALL the instructors are phenomenal - you can’t go wrong, ya’ll! I teared up at my last check up appt. with Sandy - I am so SO grateful to have learned how to move and stand and just BE in my body. My parents died young advocating for equity in higher education and not making time to move - I REFUSE to follow family tradition. THANK YOU Monarch Pilates 🥰🥰. So so so grateful 🥺🥰

This is such a welcoming studio! I just started my Pilates journey, and so, came to the studio with absolutely ZERO experience or confidence. Every single staff member I have met has been so kind, patient, and skillful! I looked to Pilates because of tension and compression in my back, weak core, and sore joints. I feel like I am re establishing my relationship with my body. It’s a great experience. Every session has left me feeling energized, and with better mobility. If you’ve hesitated before because Pilates feels intimidating, don’t! Come here! Each instructor is super supportive. I’m the person in Zumba class who’s invariably facing the wrong direction with every move. If I can do this, EVERYONE CAN!! I’ve had the pleasure of working with Sandy, Laura, Cat, Megan A, and Lisa. All have been exceptional teachers and have great body intuition. Kat at the front desk is also wonderfully helpful!

Ahhh sweet relief! It was suggested that I try Monarch’s prenatal and pelvic floor classes for my second pregnancy and I am SO GRATEFUL that I did. The team of practitioners here have taught me so many useful movements and stretches to release and soften where needed. My midwife has even noticed a physical difference and improvement in the way I’m standing, moving and carrying baby throughout this pregnancy. A special thanks to Sandy, Jessica and Laura for the expert knowledge, one on one support and gratitude towards the community of Mama’s in each class on the same journey. I 1,000% recommend looking into classes or private consultations at Monarch!! I’m definitely looking forward to their support during my postpartum recovery.
Thank you!

I’ve been a studio member at Monarch for around a year now. They are THE best Pilates studio with the absolute best teachers!

There is a class for everyone and every skill level and classes are kept to a maximum of 6 students so that you still get the attention you need in class. Whether you’re in the mood for a gentle stretch class, very traditional/classical reformer, or maybe you want to break a good sweat in a higher intensity Fit & Form class, or anything in between, there is truly something for everyone.

I have also gotten to experience the private lessons side of things and that has truly changed my life. I worked with Sandy and Megan through a foot injury where I was on crutches and non weight bearing for many months. I believe that healing through and coming off my injury went SO much smoother since I was able to get customized care on keeping everything strong and supported. Sandy has also changed my shoulders. Many years of surfing and many shoulder injuries has lead to what I thought would be lifelong shoulder issues but I’m now able to do things I never could before! Working with Sandy (or any of the teachers!) is a short term investment but with lifelong payoff.

I use Pilates to live well everyday. If you want to feel strong and keep aging at bay, this is what you need. I owe 20 years of body strength and health to Pilates and to this studio.

Sandy Novembre has an innate knowledge of the body and is also a stellar teacher to those who work with her, (shout out to Lisa, Laura, Megan...etc.!) in her BEAUTIFUL studio.
They are all the BEST at what they do.

I'm subconsciously aware that I walk through the world in a neutral spine, weight evenly distributed over my hips, with my thigh bones seated comfortably within the joint, not thrusting forward, or lazing back therefore putting undo pressure on my back. If you have never done Pilates this may not make sense to you... yet! ;)

Come to Monarch Pilates and be surrounded by knowledge that will take you through life in strength and harmony.

Monarch Pilates has been a transformative experience in my life! I couldn't sit on the floor without pain, and now after doing private lessons with Laura I can not only sit on the floor; it has helped my back, and my shoulders as well as my pelvic floor, and core in general. It has also helped my anxiety & general well-being as well!
I highly recommend this studio & all of it's staff. The brand new facility is a plus!
I waited awhile to take the plunge & I wish I had signed up sooner! ❤️

As someone who has recently come somewhat late in life to Pilates, I was lucky enough to land in the capable hands of Jessica Golomb. Although I’m a newbie, I’m amazed at how far I’ve progressed in just a few months in terms of building core and muscle strength, balance, stamina, and flexibility under her tutelage. Jessica is extremely knowledgeable and has been able to work through or, when necessary, around some of my age- and joint replacement-related limitations without missing a beat. She is supportive and attentive to my specific needs. She is also an excellent teacher and has taught me a great deal about the body and how to incorporate what I learn from her into my daily life. I can’t recommend Jessica and the entire staff at the studio strongly enough.

I have started taking private lessons with Sandy and Laura to strengthen my pelvis and core after I gave birth. I also have MS and my balance and ability to walk were at their worst. From the very first session, I was amazed by the deep knowledge of body mechanics, attention to the slightest detail, and creativity that Monarch’s instructors have. After just a few sessions I felt connected to my body in a way I haven’t been able to in a long time. I’ve also taken rolfing sessions with Coko and multiple PT sessions with Amelia. I can’t say enough good things about my experience with them. I have been dealing with an autoimmune condition for the last 11 years and I am yet to meet such dedicated and knowledgeable group of people, all in one place. I am pretty sure that had I met them sooner, I would have a different MS story.

Everyone here is wonderful! I am going to Amelia for physical therapy, Sandy for private pilates sessions, and Laura for the Oov. They all collaborate on how to address my chronic pain issues and have been super helpful. I highly recommend them!

Update: I have had the opportunity to work with the majority of the Monarch staff in private Pilates sessions, physical therapy appointments, and now group classes! They are all so caring and wonderful people, and they really take the time to give individual attention and make adjustments and modifications when needed. Their intuition into what is going on with your body is amazing. I wish I could soak up all their knowledge!

I have been going to Amelia for PT for over a year and she has been so wonderful. As someone with chronic pain and autoimmune conditions where one day one thing will hurt and the next something else entirely, I can attest that Amelia knows a ton about the body and how to correct imbalances and make you feel better. I think she has worked on almost every part of my body now, and it has been so valuable having her on my care team.

I have worked with Jessica G., Laura, and Sandy one on one, and now Sandy has group classes that have been a great addition to my private lessons and PT sessions. The classes give me an opportunity to try a variety of exercises, and the one on one sessions allow for more customized movements and hands-on queuing and feedback to fix imbalances and improve problem areas.

I highly recommend this fabulous studio to anyone who is interested in improving their quality of movement. Chronic pain peeps - this is the studio for you!
