I CALLED POLICE FOR THE ASSAULT ON A FIVE YEAR OLD BY A COACH.
My daughter is five and had just come back to coach connie after missing 3 weeks of classes. She wasn't sticking the landing so coach Connie wouldn't give her a high five. My daughter was upset and when it was time to send all the girls for water all three girls ran to the water station where I WITNESSED CONNIE GRAB AND YANK MY CHILD BY THE ARM. She turned her entire body around aggressively to threaten her. I ran over and picked my daughter up and told coach connie that there was no reason to ever grab a child like that. My daughter said she was scared and hurting and that coach Connie told her she was going to punish her. I went to the front office where they pulled the footage, confirmed and said my daughter shouldn't have ran around the corner and it is their protocol to grab the child running around the corner. Only my child was grabbed. The coach was frustrated with my child for not sticking the landing and with her crying. This isn't how anybody working with children should react. I contacted the police department which I believe is lapd. They confirmed they saw the coach grab my daughter but that they stated the owner and the coach both said were safety protocols and because she didn’t hit or push or kick my child, there was nothing that could be done. Disappointing and disgusted to say the least!
IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR CHILD SAFE. DONT GO HERE!
Monarchs has a horrible history of mishandling children and blaming them instead of getting proper training for their coaches.

I grew up training at the Newbury Park location for 12 or so years. My daughter started her career at the Agoura location a few years ago. We have since moved out of state and I have to say, we truly, truly miss the maintained cleanliness, safety procedures, friendly environment, and professionalism of the staff, coaches, and facility of Monarchs!

Each class at Monarchs is programmed and tailored specifically for the children’s skill set and age development in that class. Coaches are properly trained and conduct themselves well at all times! You can tell they love what they do and enjoy being there, especially Coach Connie and Coach Vadym. My daughter still talks about them today, even after moving 4-5 months ago!

Lynne is also very informative and knowledgeable about the gym, its classes, policies, etc. She’s a true blessing!

The overall atmosphere is amazing and although we do enjoy our new gym, we definitely miss Monarchs wholeheartedly!

they have the most ridiculous make up policies. they only allow one make-up per student per month. you have to use up your make up within the month. the parkour class is very dangerous, the protection is not good enough. the gym also has bad smell. not recommended.

Very Disappointed. They have a Coutch name DAKOTA, she is underage and apparently doesn't know how to treat the little kids.
She pushed my 5 years old child and told him 'Get out of here' and one time she told him 'Go away.'
She is very rude, and I couldn't understand why they are keeping her to work in this place. The staff knows about it, and they did nothing.
keep your eyes on her I wouldn't trust her with the little kids.

We love Coach Connie… Deserves reiterating, we love Coach Connie. She is so gentle with our kiddo and clearly enjoys her gig there.

4 stars cause the place (equipment, etc) could use a spruce up.

The admin is always correct, never a miss. Thanks for a good gymnastics experience for our family.

My daughter loves this gym. She is at the Agoura Hills location, and never complains when it’s time to go to class. Coach Russ is awesome and has taught her so much in a matter of 9 months. I would recommend Monarchs to everyone.

The front desk Lynn and Andrew are so mean when I asked them if they could do me a favor to put my daughter on one class due to her doctor appointment. They refused to do it and insisted that my daughter is not in that level yet. However, my daughter took that level class as a try out with that coach before. It’s ridiculous policy and hold by certain people who care all about that little power they have. My daughter said the coach doesn’t even care about the kids practice or his coaching, he only cares if he follows the policy. I wish we had a better gymnastics class around.

Wow. This is a spectacular place for kids! Both my kids have been doing gymnastics and parkour for more than 7 years. Lynn is THE BEST. So professional and kind. I highly recommend Monarchs. Team is great! And they love our kids!

I drove around for 20 mins looking for this place and there phones were not working. When I finally did find it there was a 3 inch sign and was afraid to walk in. When I did walk in not one person acknowledged me. I walked right out.. do somewhere else.

My daughter is 7 and wanted to try gymnastics. She had a great first time experience. She learned how to do a cartwheel the first class! It is something she has been working on. The coaches and students were encouraging her and cheering her on when she finally nailed it! She left proud and excited for her next class.

Instructors spend most of their time socializing to each other rather than supervising and instructing the children. Coach arrives at the same time as the class starts and spends half the class getting equipment set up while toddlers are left alone and Not supervised. I will not be continuing a membership here as it is not a safe and supervised environment. You would expect a higher level of instruction, attention to detail for this type of paid coaching even at the Kinder level.

I really don’t recommend this Camp and I know because I went to that camp I am a Kid so I will share my experience
1.) The staff doesn’t pay attention to the Kids wich is dangerous and they just talk with eachother and just hang out like Friends .
2.) Children stay in that filthy gym the whole day and don’t get fresh air they say it is because of safety but I think it’s because of laziness!
3.)They don’t do gymnastics it’s just playing lame games I asked other children and they had the same opinion
4.) Nobody partisipates in the Games and they just let you sit there and do nothing for the hawl day
5.)The coaches are not really coaches they are just a bunch of teenagers having a summerhouse and they are immature and and jell at you if u don’t do exactly what they say ughh
6.)Kids get injured and the don’t care so Berry dangerous!
Again I would know because I went there myself so!
But a good side is that the actual training like the classes seam really good while I was at Camp I saw it and it was great I mean the Coaches were amazing and the Kids had fun so they learned really fast . I don’t recommend the Camp at all but the regular Class definitely!

My child came here for a birthday party and had such a great time we came back for a trial for gymnastics classes! The office staff and coaches were very helpful [especially Lynn, Brad and Erica] and encouraging for my daughter, who can be very shy when in a new situation. She really had a great class and is already wanting to return for more!

SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE --I pulled my six year old out of Monarch Parkour classes due to poor supervision and lack of instruction that ultimately resulted in serious injury. As you'll see in some of the reviews below Monarch's younger staff are easily distracted. When my son was injured the staff were completely unaware it had occurred in fact they were across the gym when he fell from the obstacle they were supposed to be spotting him on. When I called in to discuss my concerns about safety the manager acknowledged no incident report has been filed by the instructor. Additionally she indicated I was not the first parent to voice concern on the way these classes were being run. What added insult to injury was when I was assured they would discuss what happened in their staff meeting and would call me back with the result of this discussion. However I never received a call back. Instead I got an automated billing email - apparently they credited me the cost of the remaining classes my son will not be able to attend because of the injury he received in their Parkour class. I had already told the manager that my son would not be returning to the Parkour class because of the lack of attention and organization that had ultimately resulted in his injury. I missed work due to the necessity of taking my son to the doctor; he missed days of school as he is unable to walk due to the severity of his injury. Kids will get hurt but to have these children climbing through obstacles and jumping from one platform to another while their instructor is on the entirely opposite side of the gym is just plain dangerous. I strongly suggest considering another gym. After the experience I’ve had with the young staff and downright lack of concern and consideration from the management staff I would strongly suggest choosing another gym. I’ve never been so disappointed and frankly disgusted with how a situation has been handled.

The office staff its completely unprofessional, I made a cash payment and they tell me they have no record of it. Of course they are still charging me, for a payment I already made. What kind of business are they running. If you take your child there and make a payment to the staff make sure you get a receipt!!!!!
