Joining Movement Society was probably one of the decisions I made. I started with the 6-week transformation program and upon completion joined the monthly membership. All trainers (Toddy is awesome) are fantastic, but I would love to give a shout out to Germaine. He is absolutely awesome. He is patient. Focuses on the form, pace, and weight. He pushes and encourages you to push yourself without being pushy. His stability classes are amazing too. Highly recommend joining this gym (Steven is a good dude and super helpful). Best workout experience.

Movement Society has truly been a game changer for me. I came in feeling super intimidated about getting back into fitness, but the coaches met me exactly where I was. They supported me every step of the way and helped me build the strength and confidence I did not know I had.
What sets this place apart is the way they approach everything with care and intention. The coaches pay close attention to form, focus on real progress, and genuinely care about each person’s journey. Every workout is thoughtfully designed and scalable, so whether you are a beginner or more experienced, you feel challenged without ever feeling overwhelmed.
The space is always clean and well organized. The classes are fun, positive vibes, and everyone from the coaches to the members is friendly and encouraging. It is the kind of environment that actually makes you want to show up.
I honestly never thought I would be someone who enjoys working out, but here we are. This experience completely shifted my mindset, challenged me in all the right ways, and I am so glad I stuck with it.
If you are feeling stuck or unsure of where to begin, I truly cannot recommend Movement Society enough. The coaching, the programming, and the community made a real and lasting impact.

Nick’s Movement mobility class is unlike anything else in LA and is my favorite way to start Wednesday morning.
It’s a full body activation that leaves me worked and sore but so in touch and in tune with my body, it’s very centering, practical, and playful. I love functional movement and we do a lot of crawls and inversions and movements that are natural to the human body but we never practice in our day to day. Nick guides you through new and challenging movements in a way that is accessible and enjoyable! And we always end class with a little free flow integration of the movements we’ve learned. Creative, challenging, and empowering! Can’t recommend enough.

I’ve been training with Coach Karl at Movement Society for the last 3-4 months and have had a great experience. I came to Movement Society as a mid-30s Brazilian Jiu Jitsu / MMA hobbyist looking to increase my athleticism and decrease my chances for injury. Coach Karl asked thoughtful questions and carefully analyzed my needs. He helped me realize my full body motions were strong, but my hips were tight and my single leg stability was compromised. He designed a program to address these issues. Since then, I’ve continuously noticed how much stronger I am in positions I previously struggled with. My grappling strength has improved quite a bit; and I’m able to keep up with other practitioners who are significantly younger and more spry than myself.
During this time, I also pulled my back doing Jiu Jitsu and saw Dr Tony Dang for several sessions — he put me back together quickly and I was able to start training again within a month.
I’d highly recommend Movement Society for personal training and PT, and I see myself coming here for a long time.

I love Movement Society! It's an amazing facility to train at ~ the space is cool and modern, all of the trainers and staff are down to earth, and the entire vibe of the place is so inviting. My personal trainer is Karl and he does a great job at making workouts fun - especially for me who sees exercising as a chore lol. I have yet to check out the group classes but I hear all great things about them!

Honestly, they really care about your goals and are willing to help you achieve it. I was at a low point in my life with my mental and physical health. Working out with Karl has helped me rediscover the joys of fitness and has given me so much more. He really gets down to the basics of how your body works and moves and implements workouts on strengthening your weak points without overdoing it. It is not a fast process but as you go consistently you’ll definitely see the improvements in your fitness and mobility. Definitely would recommend anyone to train here.

The first word that comes to mind is WOW! I have seen quite a few trainers, instructors, and fitness teachers in my day, and Tawnya at Movement Society is the absolute best! Her movement background is unmatched with her many successful years in her dance craft, giving her a deep foundation and understanding of proper mechanics, healthy movement patterns, and building a strong body. Tawnya is a true expert in the fitness space. She has a gift for meeting you where you are at and building not only muscle but most importantly your confidence. Her whole-hearted approach will help you adopt exercise and healthy living as a lifestyle, a mindset, and apart of your identity.
I have never been excited to wake up early and prioritize my health until her. I can’t wait to jump out of bed at 5am to go work with her. I have never worked with someone that has supported me in every sense of the word. Working with Tawnya has been beneficial beyond words! I had no idea how many blind spots I had to mobility and strength. In my time with her leading up to the Olympic trials my I became more explosive, more agile and had better stamina. Tawnya has been life changing for me. I’ve never consistently trained in my life, I always felt too overwhelmed by the idea of “fitness” and would get discouraged. But she has been an amazing coach and mentor to me for over a year and a half. I look forward to our sessions no matter how I’m feeling because I know she’s always going to meet me where I’m at. I’ve learned so much from her but also feel so cared for and her compassion radiates. I really appreciate that when I have body setbacks because of pain she zeroes in on that rather that having me ignore it. Because of this my hips and back feel better in my forties than they did in my thirties! Coach Tawnya is truly a special gift.

We had the opportunity to bring her in as a guest educator for prevention techniques, proper mobility exercises and core strengthening. Started at movement society a few years back and the trainers there are all very helpful with everyone’s needs. I’ve done 1v1 classes with Karl as well as group classes if scheduled. It really helped me learn proper techniques and form which helped me incredibly with soccer and running.

If you’re looking to train, rehab, etc….Movement Society is HANDS DOWN the place! As soon as you enter, you feel the love and dedication from the trainers to their craft and clients! Personally, I have been training with Coach Tawnya! She restored my confidence and hope for continuing my career after an injury!! She not only cares about your physical capability but training your mental too! I feel so heard and always listened to about any questions or concerns I have!! Movement Society was great with their communication, getting to my email about joining within one or two days. My coach, Stephen, was very attentive in what my goals were and changed the program to fit what my current needs were. He gave a lesson on nutrition, provided tips and tricks on how to perform exercises that I haven't seen before, and answered any questions I had in a timely manner. The monthly meetings were very helpful to hash out any changes in goals and updates on how the workouts feel. I learned a lot over the past 6-7 months and it was a great experience working with them.

Training with Movement Society, specifically Coach Tawnya, changed my LIFE in more ways than I can explain in an online review. Before the pandemic, I was super active between dancing, bouldering, and working out at the gym but that all came to a screeching halt with the stay at home orders. I was also super stressed out with work at the time when I started working with Tawnya. I came to a point where I was tired of the way I was living, and Tawnya helped me reincorporate movement into my life on a regular basis. She's a super encouraging, yet patient trainer. I really appreciated how she designed the workouts so I wasn't doing too too much too soon. I started in March 2021, and still going strong with her today. Our workouts are so fun, and I don't plan on stopping our sessions any time soon. I feel healthier, stronger, and less stressed. 1000000% recommend working with Tawnya if you want a positive life change.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Coach Tawnya and Movement Society. I hit a low point during the quarantine, and needed to make major changes. Tawnya was the shot in the arm that I needed. Her attitude, compassion, and training knowledge are truly world-class. It doesn’t matter how much time I’d spent in gyms over the years - there were basic, fundamental problems in my movement skills that needed a lot of work. Tawnya brought everything into sharp focus - all the way down to breathing.
The results have been astonishing. I’m crushing personal records in pull-ups and deadlifts. I haven’t felt this good since I was in my 20s. She teaches me something new every time we train, and I love seeing her first thing in the morning!
