No frills - all about parkour. The staff is supportive and extremely competent. It really helps that they accept drop-ins. My son and I love the place. Very highly recommend.

Our kids (6 & 8) did a drop-in class while we were visiting from minnesota. coach Brittney did a terrific job making them feel welcome and part of the group, and challenged them appropriately for their skill level. The kids loved it. Brittney ran the class very efficiently so the kids got a good workout with little standing around time. The website shows a lot of hard surfaces, but rest assured they run their classes safely - there is plenty of padding under and around the ninja obstacles.

This place is amazing. They are so supportive with the kids, but in a no-nonsense kind of way. I wish they would branch out to far East Bay. Oakley/Brentwood could really use a place like this for kids to learn these amazing skills in a fun and safe way.

Went to a kids bday party and watched my own kids have a great time. The host Tony did a great job instructing the kids on rules and safety and kept a sharp eye to make sure the kids were having fun and staying safe. It looks like an anxious parents worst nightmare so bear in mind that effort and some athleticism is needed to have fun here... Outstanding facility for this fast growing sport. Only downsides were the size of the facility and lack of AC in the main area. Not a deal breaker for us but explains the 4 stars...

One of the few nearby parkour gyms with reasonable hours and hassle-free open gym hours in the east bay, with dedicated staff and great obstacles!

I am so very glad I was referred to this place by several friends whose children take classes there. My son was nervous about starting but after just one class, he fell in love with parkour and has been taking classes there every since. It's built his confidence, stamina and coordination. The instructors are phenomenal and truly a testament to dedication, discipline and achieving incredible outcomes! My son is involved in several sports and activities but this is always his favorite. Thank you Coach Alan, Tony and Brittany for offering such amazing programs for our community!

Awesome gym! The obstacles are so fun to try, and the trainers are all very encouraging and knowledgeable. This is unlike any gym you have ever been too! Brian is a really cool guy. I highly recommend taking the time to go here. The mixture of parkour and ninja obstacles is a ridiculous amount of fun, plus you meet lots of fun people too!

As stated in a previous review the gym is adequate, itβs the staff and the system I have a problem with. The staff treated me as if I was a burden to them. The gym works in a skill set system to determine what level a participant is at and what activities they are allowed to participate in based on their current band standing. Well, my son, who is 6 and brand new to Parkour, was only being involved in very beginner skill set lessons (think summersaults), apparently these are not the skills needed to advance, as we were to find out. My son was motivated and talked about how he wanted to advance. I sent him off to each class simply encouraging him to continue working hard, following their instruction and trust that he would get there. Finally, after months of sending him off with this advice and no skill set advancement, I decided to ask the staff what was required to achieve the next level band, as he and I were frustrated that he had not yet advanced. They acted annoyed at having to inform me the beginner moves needed to advance; something called a box hang, 2 pull ups and some other skill (I donβt remember what itβs called). I asked if they were teaching him these skill sets and explained our frustration with this stagnant development. In a manner of arrogance, I was informed that it was up to him to learn these skills at home on his own. I donβt even have the capacity to help him learn these skills much less the understanding how to teach him. I thought that they must be teaching him some of these skills, but in watching his workouts, I didnβt see any of these activities included in his repetitive gym routine. My son is 6 years old, he needs help and coaching. I thought that was what I was paying for. Not arrogant replies leaving me feeling like an inadequate father. I donβt know Parkour, I played baseball, soccer, tennis and ice hockey. My son wanted this and so I was happy to sign him up and pay the cost for the sake of his development. I found that the cost wasnβt paying for him to do much more than summersaults! I am very frustrated and annoyed and wish that we had a better experience for the sake of my son.

APEX is A+ in everything. Alan and his team are both kid and parent-friendly in how pro they are in running the facility. The space itself is well-maintained and regulated in terms of safety first and foremost. There are also options in terms of waiting for parents, whether they need a quiet room to get work done or want a birdβs eye view of all the action. And that action... in a word, WOW! The skills these kids (and adults) learn is astounding. This is our familyβs first and only experience of parkour and we canβt imagine going anywhere else. Lastly, if you want a rad birthday party experience, highly, highly recommend! Our twins just had one at APEX and they immediately wanted another. The team did a phenomenal job of integrating all the kids, so no one felt left out.
Overall: APEX-cellent.
Thank you!

So I just stopped in months ago to check this place out. Being a huge fan of Ninja warrior. The place looked awesome. The prices seemed very reasonable and once I find the time I'm going back to start on a few parkour courses. You are never too old to start!

One of few parkour gyms around, Apex is a top notch spot to train at. Alongside many set Urban parkour style structures, they have an Air Trak, and more than a few Ninja Warrior obstacles set up for training (read: a lot). Staff and coaching is knowledgeable and I recommend them strongly just for having open workout times daily. You can always get more out out of training here!

They have a really great setup here but unfortunately there are a lot of little kids who don't understand proper safety precautions. For example if someone is about to make a jump don't walk in front of them.

My 10 year old has never liked team sports like baseball, soccer etc. So we were excited to support him when he wanted to try parkour. How great to have an alternative for kids that centers on challenging yourself and personal bests! The coaches are awesome role models for the kids. The amazing, spacious gym looks nothing like you've ever seen! It offers lots of spaces for coaches to divide the class up and work with small groups, rotating them through different skills. We started with the 3-class intro. package and then signed our son up for half day camp all summer long! We love how he is building strength, resilience and confidence! Our son doesn't watch American Ninja Warrior on TV but has watched lots of parkour videos on YouTube, so even if your kids aren't into the show, they might really enjoy this activity. I expect we'll be booking his birthday party here. What a neat place that has classes for both kids and adults plus has open gym times--glad to be spending lots of family time at APEX Movement Norcal!

Huge kudos to Apex! Our 7 year old twins went yesterday and loved it so much that we drove back today. However, there was a mistake on one of the pages on the website and we showed up at the wrong time... Instead of turning us away, the wonderful people at Apex offered us a class (along with the other family who saw the wrong time on the site) right there on-the-spot.
Great class, happy kids, and we will happily return!
Update, we've been coming here for a year now and find the coaches and facilities amazing. We are so so happy here!
