If you are not vibing with the big impersonal gyms, run don't walk to MX3 fitness. Such a great gym - all three locations. The trainer I work with, Darren, is both thoughtful and inspiring and makes working out fun. Its also super easy to book independant workout time too, and the best part is there's never waiting for anything you want to do; no lines, and no one hoarding weights.
The facility is spotlessly clean, and everything is brand new, from the weights and machines down to the water fountains. It's seriously the best gym I've ever been to.

I’ve been training with Govinda at MX3 fitness for a few months now and it’s been a fantastic experience with clear results. He builds thoughtful and customized training programs that approach your body as an integrated system, and help you become much more aware of how one challenge or strength is connected to another, which is super helpful. Second – and this is really critical – Govinda has a talent for explaining physical movements in simple and intuitive language. I’ve worked with other trainers who had the deep physiological expertise but didn’t have that gift for making it easy for us non-professionals to understand and translate into action. That means sessions are more efficient and you learn faster, which is huge. Third, he’s motivating, humble, and meets you where you are. Govinda is awesome!

The facilities at MX3 are great – excellent use of space, minimalist, and welcoming. Over time you’ll be amazed at how much you can accomplish with relatively little equipment. And the less dependent your routines are on unique and specialized equipment, the easier they are to replicate at home, when traveling, when waiting for MUNI, or really anywhere!
