N831 has been a consistent foundation of fitness even when I haven't been consistently here. While the programming is a mix of both strength (weightlifting) and endurance (cardio), it has something for everyone and you can "go heavier" on whichever your body needs. I started going here in 2014 at their old location in downtown PG and after moving away and returning for some drop ins now back permanently the Tin Cannery location is phenomenal. State of the art space and equipment, and programming. The cycles of strength and endurance training are tested at the beginning and end. It's very rewarding to finish a cycle and see progress on times and max out weights. Love this place, love the friends here and even with gyms closed or restricted during COVID N831 has home programming options and does nutrition programs too. <3 this place.

I had never joined a group workout style gym prior to 831, but it was exactly what I was looking for. It is nice to not have to worry about finding the perfect program, or try and figure out what you are going to do for a workout today. You just show up at one of the times and get to work on Blaise's awesome programming, and Stevo's really helpful coaching.
It has the perfect balance of what you want in a workout. The first 30 mins are lifting at your own pace, you never feel like you need to lift heavy to compete with anyone or rush faster than you need. You do whatever weight you are comfortable with individually on your own squat rack. Where it is nice to have the competition though is for the 30 mins of cardio, because competing with other people will make you want to run faster or hit the cardio machines harder. The atmosphere is great and it open to individuals with a variety of different goals and experience

The last time I was part of any cross fit or strength and conditioning gym was 2007. Since that time I have been happily working out by myself. That was up until 1 year ago when I joined Neighborhood 831 based on a recommendation from a friend, which turned out to be one of the best decisions regarding my physical fitness.
831 is a phenomenal strength and conditioning gym with great programming that encourages continual progression. Unlike Cross Fit workouts, strength and conditioning are clearly delineated, no mixing of the two, which can often lead to some bad injuries. The strength portion is split into three categories--strength, endurance, and fitness--so there is a program for everyone, no matter what your goals are. The conditioning is fantastic; fun, challenging, and usually team oriented (pre-COVID) which encourages you to push yourself hard. The head programmer is an evil genius who will work you in some of the most innovative ways.
Ultimately, most folks join gyms for the workouts or the people (usually both). As I mentioned above the workouts are great, but the community at 831 is amazing. The coaching team at 831 is super helpful and its members are awesome, truly a community of diverse people who enjoy working hard and hanging out.
If you are looking for gym, or even if you aren't looking for a gym, I highly recommend Neighborhood 831. They offer a free trial so you really have nothing to lose for trying it out!

I've been a part of this gym for the last 4 years. I joined after trying out a local CrossFit, but felt rushed by them to lift a lot very fast even though I hadn't ever lifted before prior. I was training for triathlons and couldn't afford an injury sidelining me. I felt that was inevitable with that style of "programming." Luckily one day I found Neighborhood at their previous location. Over the years I have seen continuous gains in my confidence in lifting and Neighborhood does a great job tracking progress on an individual basis. The classes are structured with about half being lifts (for all ages, sizes and abilities) and half being conditioning. The conditioning is by far my favorite part as you team up with some amazing athletes to push yourself mentally and physically. Everyone is here to work because those that arent just never show up again. If you're into pushing your limits, this is the place for you!

Fantastic workouts and great people. I was fortunate enough to get a year and half in the gym plus a couple years remote. It's a motivated community gym that is not for the faint of heart or those who require towel service and coddling and hugs to get through their day.

This is hands-down the best gym I’ve ever been a part of. The programming and attention that you receive hear are amazing. Being in the military, I’ve had access to world class, professional trainers and programming, and Neighborhood 831 is still the best I’ve ever seen.

I first walked into Neighborhood 831 almost a year ago. I did not know what to expect but had heard great things. I entered the gym out of shape and in need of a big change. Blaise and Lali welcomed me as part of the group and I started seeing results very soon. The workouts are a great mix of weights, cardio and teamwork; Blaise and Lali know how to push people without people getting hurt. Today at 41 years old, I would have never imagined lifting the amount of weight that I can after joining N831. I've seen huge gains in my technique and skills. Come check out Neighborhood 831, you will not be disappointed.

When I first came to n831 I had been doing CrossFit for almost 2 years. I walked into n831 and thought to myself how bad could this be? After completing my first workout, I wanted to walk down the hall and ask for my money back from my prior CrossFit gym.
Blaise and Lali are two of the most dedicated trainers who truly want the best for each and every member. My husband and I are constantly recommending n831 to every friend, co-worker, and family member we possibly can.
Do yourself a favor and join. You won't regret it...well maybe until your lungs stop burning.

Best gym ever , I’ve been a memeber since 2016 and this is by far the best investment I’ve made! I used to live in Salinas and I would drive all the way to PG just for this gym. The trainers number one priority is SAFETY! When I started going to this gym I never touched a barbell now I can squat over 200 pounds it’s amazing I love the people , I love the workouts and the trainers! Blaise and Lali have specific/unique workouts everyday and It never gets boring. They will adapt to everybody's needs and they know you by name and by your strengths and your weaknesses it’s not just a job for them it’s their passion! Teamwork is also a big thing at this gym that’s somthing you don’t get anywhere else we are always helping each other grow at this gym ! I totally recommend this place give it a try it’s addicting and you won’t regret it !

Neighborhood 831 is so much more than I ever even knew a gym could be. Lali and Blaise, the trainers, maintain meticulous records of each workout and devote a TON of time to fitting individuals’ needs into each activity. The trainers go above and beyond in ensuring things stay fun and safe while being extremely difficult at the same time. I have so much more self confidence now than when I started just over a year ago, and I owe a huge thanks to n831 for that. One of the best decisions I’ve ever made has been joining this gym!

Excellent facility that is genuinely focused on the success of their members. Regardless of your level of fitness or comfort with the olympic lifts, the crew at n831 will get you where you want to go with their individualized approach to training!
